I CANNOT UNDERSTAND the directions for the band of the pink pearl cap on expression fiber arts crochet pattern. I need some clarification please…… Thank you
Where do you get your eye for color? Are you self-taught? I just think your photos that pair with your yarn dye colors are amazing. I wish I could afford to buy them all… they are truly beautiful!
A request for a tutorial video: I would love to see a video about how to add beads to a knitting or crochet project. Your yarn is so pretty and would love to add some bling to my projects! Thank you!
Yes I have a question for the beginning knitters video. Do you need size 9 needles or can a size 8 or 6 work? I don’t understand the sizes so I feel confused and if the reason is easier than that’s fine, I’d just like to know.
I have another question. I feel confused about making a scarf for my husband. I have baby alpaca yarn, blue and black. Do you have a tutorial on getting started and how wide? Thank you for any help.
I love your newest free pattern inspired by your trip to London. The instructions are within my ability since I have been knitting for only a year. Since I’m not a very experienced knitter, it seems to me that the instructions for round 2 (k1, *yo, k2tog* (repeat from star two more times), knit to the end) will not result in the gap being in the middle of the scarf. Am I misunderstanding something? Please explain. Thanks!
I just want to thank you for helping me find my love of yarn again. I use to crotchet blankets all the time but never was able to learn knitting. Stumbled upon your youtube channel looking for knitting for beginners and you are by far my favorite person who makes tutorials on youtube due to you not just telling but showing and even leading to your other videos for examples or how to get started. Just want to say thank you for being thoughtful and most helpful ^_^
i cannot get the crocodile slipper pattern please send it to me. thanks

Chandi, your tutorials alone taught me how to knit, and I have a newfound obsession! I found myself exclusively looking for your videos on Youtube because you’re the only knitting instructor I want to watch, and then I found your website, yay!…I’m working on finishing my first project; a headband, and I look forward to tackling more projects! Your yarn is beautiful and so is your story, thank you for creating such a wonderful opportunity for so many people to share your love of knitting!
Thank you for you beginner’s knitting video.. im 64 and have tried every book and video but yours is the only one that really made since.. now im an old granny..knitter!! teaching my 16 yr old grandson too.. thanks!!
I learned everything I know about crocheting from my great grandmother when I was little. I am just now learning to knit from your videos (thank you!). Have you ever tried tatting with a tatting shuttle? I inherited my grandmothers shuttles, but her eyesight had failed and she was never able to teach me how. I have several snowflakes on my Christmas tree every year that she made and your tiny snowflakes reminded me of them. I love your website and look forward to spending many hours and many dollars (don’t tell my husband) here! Cheers!

Hello Chandi,
YOU ARE AMAZING! ! !
I did it! ! I actually knit a scarf for my granddaughter, that’s wearable! And, it’s all because of YOU! Before this, I had no idea how to knit, but because of your detailed, not rushed and a wonderful view of your hands, I was able to knit a scarf!
I know that it’s very simple, but I couldn’t have done it without you. There is no way that I could ever articulate, how grateful I am.
I’m just getting started, and thank you so very much for the patterns for mitts, and a hat. Should you have any other SIMPLE, very, very, simple patterns for infants, and toddlers, I would very much welcome them.
Once again, YOU ROCK! !
Forever, your fan,
Deborah

Thank you!!!

Chandi-
Would it be possible to get a crochet tutorial for a really simple solid flower coaster not using magic loop? I’ve seen videos on how to crochet a solid circle and I’ve seen videos using the scalloped edging and it should be really easy to combine the two but I’m not comfortable with crochet and really just want to see a video of it all done together.
Thanks!
Im a beginner and my kniting is very lose and I keep getting all of these loops every where can you help?

Beginner knitting. I’m glad to have found you on you tube. I watched several other instructors, but could not master theirs techniques. Your style help me begin with knitting. Hope to finish a scarf by ends of this year. Do you sell any Alpaca yarn?

Hello, Chandi! I am new at crocheting, like 2 weeks new 🙂 My daughter is creative and artistic however I am the opposite. I want to learn how to crochet for my daughter so we can create things together. So far, your videos have been helpful but I am still struggling. Can you recommend any books to assist me with learning? We both love your designs and yarn!!!

Aloha, Chandi!
I’m new to your site and have just ordered and downloaded the Unending Love Knitted Blanket pattern. I’m fairly new to knitting (2 years) and so not a total beginner, but still have lots to learn. The blanket is a nice easy and quick pattern. I’m looking at the color yarns you have available and will be ordering as well. Question: I see you have the Tencel Sport Yarn…in your youtube video for the blanket you speak about using merino super wash. I’m confused as to this. Does it call for 2 separate types of yarn or just the Tencel.
Thank you so much for your assistance and help.
By the way, I’m from Hawai’i and so happy to see that you enjoyed Maui. Maui no ka ‘oi! My son was born there before we moved over to the Big Island. Lived in Pukalani for a number of years. It is paradise. I moved to the mainland after 34 years in the islands. Snow….ugh! Aloha and mahalo nui loa.
Lynn
Thanks so much for inquiring about the pattern. Yes, the merino tencel was the only yarn used to create the blanket. Thanks for taking a gander at the site and we hope you enjoy what you see. : )
I just started kitting yesterday and I’ve got a pretty good rhythm down. However, I’m somehow adding an extra stitch every time I get my stitches to the opposite needle, and I have no clue what I’m doing wrong. I started out with 15 yesterday and noticed I doubled the amount of stitches by this evening. Any idea what I could be doing?
Chandi, I am absolutely mesmerized when I receive your emails detailing the latest dazzling color-drenched yarns; however, I am quite stumped for what to make. A lot of your patterns are made in only solid colored yarns. Could you point me in the right direction to find patterns suitable for your variegated beauties?
I was trying the creek bed wrap pattern today and needed some video or pictures to help me understand the stitch. All the references I found on line said the granite stitch and the moss stitch were the same thing. The moss stitch you describe in the pattern has no “stitch” (like single crochet), just slipped stitch and chain. Am I reading that right? And is there another name for what you are listing as the “moss stitch”. Thanks for the help and the patterns.
Laura, just ignore the granite/moss reference if that is confusing and just follow the stitches as written. You can also ask on our Ravelry forum if anybody is having similar issues! http://www.ravelry.com/groups/expression-fiber-arts
Hello Chandi! I am having a tough time doing the texture pattern on the Novello Shawl. Any help would be wonderful! I can’t find your email to try and email for help. Thank you!
wherecan I find a list of the abbreviations you use in knitting patterns I understand M1 but what in M1R or M1L or pm or sm
please send email [email protected]
Sallie, most patterns will write out what those mean for you. However, you can always google and it’ll show lots of descriptions! PM = Place Marker, SM = Slip Marker, M1R = Make one right, M1L = Make 1 left, etc. 🙂 I hope this helps! Sending an email now. Chandi
Hi. I am making celosia dolman pullover in medium size. The pattern says dc,mm,dc. I know mm means move marker but how do we move marker…like do we have to skip the stitch which has the marker on it or should we move the marker. Please specify.
Chandi
I love your videos on you tube and you have inspired me to take up crocheting. So far I am hooked.
I just purchased the Summer Rain Tank Top pattern but I am totally new to crocheting. Is there a video that will help me with the project or some one to contact for help?
Thank you
Jan
Hi! I’ve purchased your variegated yarn and I’m making a (so far) really beautiful scarf using the linen stitch. BUT….I see that the next skein of yarn looks nothing like the first one, so I’m going to have an obvious break where I start the new skein. ☹️ Could you please consider doing a tutorial on how to knit with two balls of yarn so that I can avoid this in future? I would really appreciate it, especially because I am madly in love with just about all of your variegated yarns.
P.S. thanks for all the happy and uplifting messages–I love your emails, too!
Thank you very much! But how do I add in the second skein? I still have a quarter of the first skein to knit. If you could teach me how to attach or incorporate the second skein, maybe I could minimize the change by working with them together for as long as the first skein holds out. 💕
You taught me how to knit via YouTube-thank you! Now I’m ready for dpn’s and totally clueless. I’m looking for a tutorial and can’t find one. Am I utterly clueless and missing it? Can you recommend something for an age old crocheter who’s now all thumbs?
Nancie, we haven’t done a dpn tutorial as I don’t use them ( I prefer magic loop) but that is something we can add to our list of videos to demonstrate!
Aloha Chandi,

Hi Chandi, I know you are very busy but would you please do a tutorial for the top and bottom borders of the Sweet Pea shawl? The body of the shawl was so easy but for some reason, and I am very embarrassed to say, I am having a very hard time following the pattern instructions for the borders.
Hi, Amy! I’m sorry you’re struggling a bit on Sweet Pea. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we’re not making videos on demand right now, but I will add your request to our list of future videos to consider making. Stacy, sure thing. This video might be helpful for you. How to choose to join the yarn is up to you – I like to just drop the old skein and pick up the new one, weaving in the ends later. https://blog.expressionfiberarts.com/2018/04/25/how-to-alternate-skeins-in-your-knitting-crochet-projects/
