Hello, lovely one! I have a delightful, lacy crochet shawl to share with you today, and I’d love to tell you all about it!

Chione was designed by Patricia Liefeld. When asked about her design, Patricia said, “Chione (Kee-oh-née) was the Greek goddess of snow. I was inspired by the beautiful colors in the Snowflake Hues yarn kit to create a shawl that felt like winter, but provided you with snuggly warmth. The crossover stitches are the blowing wind and snow clouds, the cone stitches are icicles, and the interlocking shells are snowdrifts all wrapped up in the softness of Moongleam Fingering yarn.”This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills/concepts include Magic Ring and other special stitches.

Chione is made with our silky Moongleam Fingering yarn, which is an incredibly soft, 2-ply yarn that has a delightful shimmer and drape. It is breathable and light and amazing for warmer climates. Moongleam Fingering is a blend of 50% Cotton and 50% Mulberry Silk with 437 yds/400 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.

The sample shown here was made with our Snowflake Hues Moongleam Fingering Kit and used approximately 1,050 yds/961 m total [Color A) 300 yds/275m, Color B) 350 yds/320m, Color C) 400 yds/366m].

We made a video showing how to work the special stitches featured in this pattern. I hope you’ll take a look!
