Hello, my darling daisy! When we released our Moissanite knitted shawl, many of you reached out to ask for a crochet version. Today, I have not one, but two crochet versions of this beautiful mosaic shawl to share with you. Read on to learn all the details!

Carbon Copy was designed by Patricia Liefeld. When asked about her design, Patricia said, “Inspired by the shine that the lyocell adds to the Ephemeral Fingering yarn, I knew I had to create a pattern that also shines, and what shines better than a diamond? Since the left side is a copy of the right side and diamonds are made of carbon, I had to name this shawl Carbon Copy. The shawl contains filet crochet and a two-row mosaic crochet. This mosaic technique allows you to carry the yarn up the side without having to cut it after each row. The edging is a simple single crochet around with color changes at different sections, which gives the shawl a finished look.”

This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include mosaic stitches, chart reading, and blocking techniques.

Carbon Copy is shown here in two versions. Both use our Ephemeral Fingering yarn, which is a dreamy, 100% plant-based yarn indulgence (69% Peruvian Pima Cotton and 31% Lyocell)! We had this unique, luxurious fiber blend designed and created especially for you, so you won’t find it anywhere else. This yarn is imbued with a divine drape and an irresistible gleam.

Peruvian Pima Cotton is renowned for its unparalleled softness and breathability, and it possesses an exquisite smoothness that glides effortlessly through your fingers. It’s considered the finest cotton, due to its long staple length, supreme softness, and incredible drape and flow.

A gleaming strand of luminous Lyocell wraps around the cotton in an enchanting embrace and lends structure and sparkle to every stitch. Lyocell is a lightweight and airy fiber that’s derived from wood. It is highly breathable, hypoallergenic, super soft, and shines like silk. You’ll wonder how you ever lived without the softness of this yarn in your life!

The Version A sample used approximately 1,760 yds/1610 m total: Color A) 465 yds/425 m, Color B) 465 yds/425 m, Color C) 415 yds/380 m, and Color D) 415 yds/380 m. This version is shown in colors: A) Anjelica, B) Harper, C) Finley, and D) Isabella. One skein of each color is needed.

The Version B sample shown used approximately 1751 yds/1601 m total: Color A) 892 yds/815 m, and Color B) 859 yds/785 m. It is shown in colors: A) Mia and B) Cambrilla. Two skeins of each color are needed.

This yarn base and this year’s colors are Limited Edition. Once they are sold out, they are gone for good, so be sure to purchase all you need for your project.
