Lovely one, thanks for hopping over to the blog today! We have a gorgeous new pattern for you – Milla Knitted Shawl by Emily Walton. A beautiful slip stitch (mosaic knitting!) wrap design:
If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to work mosaic knitting, then you’re in luck! We have a video for you too! I walk you through how to work the body of the shawl:
After you’ve worked the slip stitched body section, you can choose to work that stunning knitted-on lace border! Isn’t it a dream?
Truly, this pattern has such a special place in my heart. It’s just so gorgeous! I would say an advanced beginner could totally make this.
For the yarn, we used 3 colors (4 skeins total – 2 Allegory, 1 Old Photographs, 1 Foreshadow) of our Luster Sport yarn – we opted for shades that blended and flowed and looked very similar in tone. Isn’t it incredible that a muted teal and a muted lavender can produce an almost-silver look from afar? Love that. And then the border is actually a silver gray so it gives the piece an overall cohesive look. This yarn flows and drapes (as you can see from the video above), lasts for years, is machine-washable and has a subtle glow! Great for so many projects – colors come and go. Feel free to reach out to us if you’d like to see these or any other colors come back in stock.
If you prefer, use high-contrasting colors, though. Up to you!
As always, I hope you enjoy it! Download the written version of the pattern here and sign up for email updates there on the site to hear when our new knitting and crocheting patterns go live! We shoot for one a week and most are free for a limited time only.
Have a delightful day!
XOXO

Sorry meant added on border.

Agree with Linda’s comment. Having trouble understanding the directions for the gorgeous knitted on border. A video, or diagrams, would be so helpful.
Kathi, great idea. I will see what we can do!
Misspelled my last name! It’s Doyle.
