Hello, my pearl! I have an airy Summer shawl to share with you today, and I’d just love to tell you all about it.

Adamas was designed by Elisabeth Carr. When asked about her design, Elisabeth said, “Adamas stands for ‘diamond,’ or more specifically, ‘unconquerable’ and ‘indestructible.’ This shawl starts from the top center and spreads out to the bottom. The diamonds in this pattern are created by making chains to form gaps in the fabric in a diamond pattern. All of the stitches used are simple, beginner stitches, which makes the Adamas shawl perfect for a beginner who is looking to try a more challenging pattern.”

This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches and skills include chains, single crochet, double crochet, and carrying yarn up the side.

Adamas is made with our Mirage Sport yarn. It is perfect for items you want to treasure for years to come. Mirage Sport is a beautiful sport-weight yarn that’s luscious and supremely soft with a gorgeous drape, amazing structure, and a subtle gleam. This yarn is a blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Natural Baby Camel, 10% Cashmere, and 10% Mulberry Silk. It has 350 yds/320 m per skein.

The sample shown here was made with our Weekend Hues kit and used approximately 950 yds (869 m) total: Color A: 310 yds (283 m), Color B: 330 yds (302 m), and Color C: 310 yds (283 m).

We made a video showing how to work a few rows in each section. I hope you’ll take a look!
