Hello, my sweet sunbeam! I have a beautiful, crochet top pattern that I just adore, and I cannot wait to share it with you today! I hope you’ll read on to learn more about it!

Almond Flowers was designed for us by Wardah Mhd. When asked about this design, she said, “I imagined myself walking in a garden full of flowering almond trees. I felt myself wearing something that waves with the breeze. So free, just like the endless petals of an almond flower going back and forth with the breeze. That initiated in my mind the idea of making a blouse. Oversized, open, light, smooth, and beautiful!”

“I decorated the neckline and the belt with the cluster stitch, along with some of the Tunisian stitch. The cluster stitch gives the simulation of almonds, while the Tunisian stitch adds distinctively to the design. Almonds and their flowers symbolize strength together with beauty. To add calmness, I made sure the design is smooth, completing the combination of emotions.”

This Intermediate to Advanced level pattern is for crocheters who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include multi-step stitches, repeats, seaming, and some new skills in Tunisian Crochet.

Almond Flowers is made with our Alpaca Silk Lace yarn. This yarn is warm and soft with a gorgeous drape and a shimmery glow from the silk. This yarn is a luxurious blend of 50% Baby Alpaca and 50% Silk, and it has a generous 604 yds/552 m per skein.

The sample shown here was made with the color Museum Alpaca Silk Lace. This top is offered in sizes Small – 2XL, and you’ll need 3-4 skeins of Alpaca Silk Lace yarn, depending on the size you select.

The sample shown is a size M on a 34” bust. It has 2” of positive ease and was cropped 10 rows shorter (with fewer neckline and belt repeats). This sample used 1402 yards total.

We made a video showing how to crochet the border. I hope you’ll take a look!
