Hello, my little snickerdoodle! This week, I have a knitted, convertible pattern that I am delighted to tell you all about! I hope you’ll keep reading to learn more about it!

Bleuet was designed by Candy Key. When asked about this design, Candy said, “Bleuet is the French word for ‘blueberries.’ The colors of this shawl include all the colors of a blueberry. Look closely at a blueberry growing, and you will see several shades of blue, a grayish tone, and green leaves. This shawl is created from those exact colors, so the name Bleuet fits perfectly.”

“This shawl is a top-down, trapezoid shaped shawl; however, the basic set-up row for a trapezoid shawl has been altered to create a lovelier shape that sits on the shoulders. The shawl is knitted holding two strands of yarn, which results in four colors transforming into eight colors – four solid and four blended colors. Your choice of colors will mix to form interesting blends of color. The bottom edge of this shawl has a picot edge, which adds a frilly border. A collar adds a finished look, as well as a warm feature for the wearer.”

This Intermediate level pattern is suitable for knitters who have completed several projects. Skills and concepts include basic lace stitches, working with two strands at a time, and picking up stitches.

Bleuet was made with our luxurious Mirage Sport yarn. This yarn is a beautiful sport weight yarn that’s luscious and supremely soft with a gorgeous drape, amazing structure, and a subtle gleam! It’s a blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Natural Baby Camel, 10% Cashmere, and 10% Mulberry Silk with 350 yds/320 m per skein.

The sample shown here was made with our Tenacious Hues Mirage Sport kit and used approximately 1299 yds/1189 m total: C1) 332 yds/304 m, C2) 318 yds/ 291 m, C3) 308 yds/282 m, and C4) 341 yds/312 m.

We made a video demonstrating how to work the picot edge bind off that’s featured in this pattern. Take a look!
