I hope you are excited and ready to learn how to crochet. Today is the big day! After watching my video below, you will be well on your way to becoming a crochet whiz.
I’ve crocheted since I was 9, so if I can do it, YOU can do it!
It’s really easy to do, but make sure to just keep practicing if anything feels awkward.
I have many other HOW TO videos planned for you (knitting, crocheting, dyeing yarn, spinning your own yarn, weaving, felting, etc…) so please SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss out on any future episodes AND sign up for my email newsletter so you don’t miss out on all the amazing goodies I send out to my newsletter peeps: Free patterns, yarn giveaways, inspiration, etc.
Yippee! Okay, without further ado, let’s get started.
1. Grab a hook – I’m using a size US H today, but you could go with a G or an I or whatever you have available.
2. Grab some yarn – I’m using a worsted weight yarn in the video. This refers to the thickness of the yarn. Don’t get anything too crazy or bulky or furry or you won’t be able to see your stitches and it will just confuse you. So start with a simple yarn, in a color of your choice. This was just some scrap yarn I had in my stash. If you need any yarn, I sell tons of delicious yarns over in my shop.
3. Let’s start crocheting!!
You’ll learn how to:
-Work a slip knot. Easy.
-Create a chain, which is the foundation on which you’ll build your crochet piece.
-Do a single crochet. (SIDE NOTE! These are AMERICAN instructions… if you’re in the UK or elsewhere outside the US or find a UK pattern, crochet terms are a bit different. Just so ya know.)
Stay tuned for future episodes (subscribe to my channel and sign up for my email newsletter!) as I have a lot in store for you! How fun!
Please comment BELOW and let me know what future videos/tutorials/instructions/how-to’s you’d like to see and I’ll do what I can to make it happen.
Alrighty then! See ya next time!
