Hello, my lil’ dewdrop! Today, I have a fun crochet shrug pattern to share with you, and I know you’ll love it! So keep reading to learn more about this delightful pattern.

Capullo was designed by Elisabeth Carr. When asked about this design, Elisabeth said, “Capullo is Spanish for ‘cocoon,’ which is very fitting for this cocoon cardigan. I just love these types of cardigans, as they make you feel like you’re wearing a nice, warm blanket. The cardigan is a square that’s started at the center, and then the edges are sewn together with a whip stitch, which leaves holes for the arms. A border is crocheted around the new edges to create ribbing.”

This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for those crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include Double Crochet, Front Post Double Crochet, and Back Post Double Crochet.

Capullo is made with our Mirage Sport yarn, which is a beautiful sport weight yarn that’s luscious and supremely soft with a gorgeous drape, amazing structure, and a subtle gleam. This yarn is a blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Natural Baby Camel, 10% Cashmere, and 10% Mulberry Silk. Mirage Sport has 350 yds/320 m per skein.

Capullo is offered in sizes XS-5XL and is designed to be worn with 2-5″ (5-12.5 cm) of positive ease. The width of the garment is the same as the length. Refer to the table on page 5 of the pattern to determine how much yardage/meterage you will need for your selected size.

If you are making the Size M, you will need more than one skein of Color B. If you are making sizes M-5XL, you may need to purchase more than one kit or purchase individual skeins, as we do not break apart kits and sell the skeins separately.

The sample shown was made in our Dramatic Hues Mirage Sport kit and is a size Small modeled on a 34” (86 cm) bust. The sample used approximately 1080 yds/988 m total.

We filmed a complete video tutorial showing how to make this cardigan. Take a look!

The pattern contains written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic for seaming.
