Hello, my darling fiber friend! This week, I have a fun crochet shawl pattern to share with you! Keep reading to learn more.

Zakret was designed by Janica York Carter. She says, “Zakret is the Polish word for bend. This shawl curves gently as it grows, creating an effortlessly wearable shape. While you could make this shawl in just two colors, the simple pattern repetition shows off multiple colors beautifully. Select two colors that have a bit of contrast with each other, and then as you progress, deepen each color for a fade effect. Or just choose color combinations that make you happy!”

“You never work more than one color at a time, which makes this shawl a perfect introduction to easy colorwork. Since you start at the tip, you can customize the size by working as many or as few repeats as you wish.”

Zakret is an Adventurous Beginner level crochet pattern. This pattern is for those crocheters who are ready to explore colorwork. Skills/concepts include: increases, decreases, spike stitches, and changing colors at the end of rows.

This shawl was made with our gorgeous Blossom Fingering yarn. A perfectly beautiful blend of 50% Bamboo, 30% Merino Wool, and 20% Lyocell. Ideal for Spring, Blossom Fingering is soft and draping with a subtle shimmer.

The sample is shown in colors: A (Drupe), B (Deliquescent), C (Sepal), D (Showy), and E (Cultivar).

Approximately 1080 yds/988 m [57 yds/52 m (color A), 156 yds/143 m (color B), 279 yds/255 m (color C), 372 yds/340 m (color D), and 216 yds/198 m (color E)] were used for the sample.

We made a video demonstrating different parts of this crochet shawl pattern. Take a look, won’t you?
