Hello, my wonderful fiber friend! I have two versions of a stunning, crochet shawl pattern to share with you today, and I hope you’ll keep reading to learn all about them.

Rhombus Cross was designed by Wardah Mdh. When asked about her latest design, Wardah said, “Life is all about connections. It is about growth and development, and that’s why I created this shawl. Urban development, geometric shapes, the speed of life, and the intersection of interests with each other. Rhombus Cross embraces all of this and brings it to the forefront. I hope that as you crochet this shawl, you feel connected and are able to enjoy these fascinating aspects of life and see the beauty in it all.”

This Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate level pattern is for those crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills include foundation single crochet, stacked single crochet, shell stitches, and color changes. Version 1 is for Adventurous Beginners, and Version 2 is suited best to Intermediate crocheters.

Both versions of Rhombus Cross were made with our gorgeous Pearlescent Fingering yarn, which is a dreamy, luxurious, creamy yarn that’s unbelievably soft with a lovely drape and a shine that just won’t quit! When you combine these two fibers into a single-ply yarn, you get subtle differences in tone, and the colors truly appear iridescent and other-worldly! This yarn is a blend of 50% Superwash Merino Wool and 50% Mulberry Silk with 550 yds/503 m per 4 oz/113 g skein.

The Version 1 sample shown here used approximately 1381 yds/1263 m total [Color A: 1040 yds/951 m, Color B: 341 yds/312 m]. Our sample was made with colors A) Violet Ink and B) Ephemera Pearlescent Fingering. You’ll need two skeins of Color A and one skein of Color B.

The Version 2 sample shown here used approximately 1757 yds/1607 m total [Color A: 1040 yds/951 m, Color B: 717 yds/656 m]. Our sample was made with colors A) Dogwood and B) Sterling Silver Pearlescent Fingering. You’ll need two skeins of Color A and two skeins of Color B.

We filmed a video showing how to work the shells and rhomboids featured in this shawl. Take a look!
