Hello, my sparkling sapphire! This week, I have a lacy half-pi shawl pattern that I absolutely can’t wait to share with you. Keep reading to learn more about it!

Dichondra was designed by Patricia Liefeld. When asked about this design, Patricia said, “I wanted to create a half-pi shawl that wraps around you and feels like a warm embrace. The shawl starts with simple Stockinette stitches that are followed by a four-row lace repeat that flows into the Slanted Twigs pattern.”

“The colors remind me of bright green, flowing plants like a Dichondra, a plant in the Morning Glory family. Part of the pattern reminds me of vines that twist and turn, as they flow down towards the ground until they get to the bright green, lush foliage of the leaves pattern. The shawl is then finished off with a knitted-on border, which allows the bottom of the shawl to drape without worrying about the tension of a typical bind off.”

This Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made several projects, using various skills and techniques. Stitches and skills include garter tab cast on, lace stitches, and knitted bind off.

Dichondra was made using our Sincere Sock yarn. This yarn is soft and versatile and is made from 75% Superwash Merino Wool and 25% Nylon. Sincere Sock is squishy and bouncy and is also machine washable. This 3-ply yarn produces defined stitches and is wonderful for projects of all types! 437 yds/400 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.

The sample shown here used our Damsel Hues kit [400 m/437 yds per 100 g/3.5 oz skein (1200 m/1311 yds per 300 g/10.5 oz kit]. The colors in the sample were knitted from lightest to darkest.

The sample shown used 872 yds/798 m total: Color A: 163 yds/149 m, Color B: 376 yds/344 m, Color C: 333 yds/305 m.

We made a video demonstrating how to work the Garter Tab Cast On, as well as the knitted-on border. Be sure to take a look!

The pattern contains written and charted instructions.
