Hello, sweet soul! Today, I have a luxurious and sophisticated, knitted shawl pattern that will wrap you in an elegant embrace! Keep reading to learn all about it!
Abrazo was designed by Amy Mercier. When asked about her pattern, Amy said, “Inspired by the Spanish word for ‘hug,’ I designed the Abrazo triangular shawl to envelop you in comfort and warmth through a meditative and soothing knit. As you knit, slip, and cross stitches, imagine you are knitting tiny hugs! When you finish, you will wrap yourself in a soft, textured embrace, as Abrazo will be more than a shawl; it will be a tangible representation of your self care and love for yourself.”
This Intermediate level pattern is for knitters who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include twisted stitches, increases, combination stitches, color changes, and blocking. The pattern includes written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic.
Abrazo is made with our beautiful Beacon DK yarn, which is a dreamy delight that’s spun from 25% Baby Camel, 25% Mulberry Silk, and 50% Lyocell. The result is a luminous yarn with irresistible shimmer and buttery softness you’ll fall in love with from the very first stitch. Each skein features a smooth, 8-ply construction, which creates strength, amazing stitch definition, and flowing drape that feels divine. Beacon DK is a perfect choice for silky soft garments or any project where you want the fabric to move with grace.
Our sample was knitted with our luscious Starting to Fall Hues Beacon DK Kit (250 yds/228 m per skein; 1,000 yds/912 m per kit) and used approximately 811 yds/742 m total [Color A) 188 yds/172 m; Color B) 205 yds/188 m; Color C) 220 yds/201 m; and Color D) 198 yds/181 m]. The colors were worked from lightest to darkest.
We made a video showing this shawl plus six other patterns to make to elevate your wardrobe this fall. Take a look!
