Hello, my sweet! This week, I have a simple, flower inspired, knitted sweater that is perfect for sunny Spring days or for layering in cooler weather! I hope you’ll enjoy reading more about it.

Nightshade was designed by Debi Maige. When asked about this design, Debi said, “This is a simple but effective tee that’s worked bottom up. The top begins with a sweet flower bud ribbing, which looks very much like the Nightshade flower, followed by lots of mindless stockinette stitch that’s knitted in the round until you get to the armhole. Then, sleeves are worked and added in, and the raglan decreases begin. The final touch is a simple crewneck. The unique property of the Nublado DK yarn creates the most interesting shading, which brings the simplicity of this piece to a whole new level of wonderful!”This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include reading charts, cables, decreases, German Short Rows, and garment sizing.Nightshade was made with our new Nublado DK, which is a beautiful DK weight yarn. In Spanish, Nublado means ‘cloudy.’ This super unique, Limited Edition yarn has a frothy, heathered appearance due to the Merino wool being whipped around and throughout the undyed cotton core, which creates a subtle, tufted halo. This yarn is a blend of 80% Pima cotton and 20% Merino wool with 273 yds/250 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.

The sample shown here was knitted with color Uva Nublado DK and is a size Small modeled on a 34″ (86 cm) bust with 4″ (10 cm) of positive ease. The pattern is offered in sizes XS – 5XL, and you’ll need three to seven skeins, depending on the size you select. If you wish to add length to the torso, you will need additional yarn.

Because Nublado DK is a Limited Edition yarn, be sure to order all you need for your project. When this yarn is gone, it’s gone for good!

We made a video showing how to work the special stitches used in this pattern. Take a look!

The pattern contains written and charted instructions, and you will need to be able to read a chart to make this sweater.
