Hello, my very dear friend! I want to share with you this lovely knitted shawl pattern called Lady Eve. This beautiful shawl was designed by Anne Robinson, and was inspired by the classic movie of the same name. Read on to learn more!

When asked about the inspiration for this shawl. Anne said that she was inspired by the wardrobe worn by Barbara Stanwyck in the classic film, The Lady Eve.

She says, “This sumptuous shawl is knit with a 50/50 blend of merino wool and silk, making a garment that is both soft and luxurious. The King Charles Brocade stitch pattern combined with the silk, catches the light, causing an almost jewel-like effect. The scalloped edging along the bottom of the shawl is created using short rows, and then knit upwards to form the main body, with the edges of the shawl picked up vertically and knit outwards to finish. The finished garment is generous, allowing plenty of length for warmth and styling.”

The sample shown used our Pearlescent Worsted yarn in the color: Red Velvet Rose. This yarn is a blend of 50% Superwash Merino Wool and 50% Silk, and it is so soft and warm. Approximately 765 yards (700 meters), were used in the sample.

We have filmed a video tutorial for you showing you how to work the Double Needle Cast On that you will need to start the shawl. Take a look:
