Hello, my beautiful one! This week I want to share with you a beautiful knitted shawl pattern called Fall Gloaming. This beautiful shawl was designed by Monica Wesley, and it was inspired by the shifting of seasons from fall to winter.

Fall Gloaming, evokes the twilight, the fading light in a misty woods, and the close of autumn as the transition to winter begins. Wet leaves carpet the ground underneath, as the few remaining leaves that have yet to fall chatter and rustle above. There among the dried bushes and briars is a hint of cranberry red, as the season’s few remaining berries cling to their branches.

Fall Gloaming is an asymmetrical triangle shawl that features a repetitive sequence of Knotted Openwork and Stockinette Stitch that alternates with Garter Stitch Ridges. The shawl is knitted flat, and the asymmetrical shape is achieved by decreasing one stitch at the start of all right-side rows and then also increasing two stitches at the end of the same row. The pattern sequence is knitted five times with each color substituted with another in every subsequent iteration.

The sample shown used our Susurrous Hues Kit. However, you can make this shawl with any 4 skeins of our Pearlescent Worsted yarn. This 50/50 blend of Superwash Merino Wool and Mulberry Silk is incredibly soft and creamy, and perfect for those cool fall days.
The sample shawl used approximately 135 to 213 yards of each color.  The sample shawl used a total of 652 yds.

We have filmed a video tutorial for you showing you how to get started making this pattern. Take a look:

This Intermediate level pattern contains both written and charted instructions.
