Hello, my dear one! I have some incredibly exciting news to share with you! I am going to be sharing a new shawl pattern and a new yarn with you. Read on to learn more!

This week’s pattern is our new Wilona shawl, and it features our new Amal yarn!

Wilona, created for you by Jane Vanselous, begins in the center and works outward in rows made of simple combinations of single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet stitches.

Jane says, “The calming blues and exceptionally soft yarn used in this shawl have me yearning for those cool mornings when a light layer of warmth and a cup of tea is the perfect way to start the day. I can just imagine sitting on a back porch, gazing across a lake as the early mist begins to rise.”

This pattern is best for the Adventurous Beginner or Intermediate crocheter. The stitches include: sc, hdc, dc and tr stitches; dc2tog, shell and popcorn stitches.

The border design utilizes three different stitch patterns. The first combines popcorn stitches and single crochet worked in light blue, set between simple rows of grey, providing a nice contrast in both color and texture. For a smaller shawl, stop after this section. For the full size shawl, continue on to crochet a mesh formed with dc2tog, chain and single crochet.

This pattern is made using our a beautiful new base, Amal, that we had spun up just for us! I am over-the-moon excited to share it with you! This yarn is a blend of 60% Baby Alpaca, 20% Linen, and 20% Mulberry Silk. It is dyed in stunning, heathered tones, and it is a draping, luxurious fingering weight yarn.
Wilona can be made in two sizes! The smaller shawl calls for 730 yards total, and the larger shawl calls for 1,020 yards total. The sample shown is the larger sized shawl.

This pattern contains written instructions and stitch charts.

We have filmed a video tutorial for you showing you some tips and tricks to be successful. We demonstrate the shell stitch, popcorn stitch, how to get started, and how to work the final section. Take a look and let us know what you think:
