Hello, my dazzling diamond! This week, I have a fun, knit shawl pattern to share with you! Please keep reading to learn more.

Sulenkti was designed by Janica York Carter. She says, “Sulenkti is the Lithuanian word for bend. This shawl curves gently as it grows, which creates an effortlessly wearable shape. While you could make this shawl in just two colors, the simple pattern repetition shows off multiple colors beautifully. Select two colors that have a bit of contrast with each other, and then as you progress, deepen each color for a fade effect. Or just choose color combinations that make you happy!”

“You never work more than one color at a time, and you only need to know one increase and one decrease stitch, in addition to knit, purl, and slip stitches, which makes this a perfect introduction to easy colorwork. Since you start at the tip, you can customize the size by working as many or as few repeats as you wish. Just work six rows in Garter stitch after any repeat of the Textured Stripes section, and bind off.”

Sulenkti is an Adventurous Beginner level pattern. This pattern is for those knitters who are ready to explore colorwork. Skills/concepts include kfb increases, k2tog decreases, slipping stitches, and changing colors at the end of rows.

This shawl was made with our gorgeous Blossom Fingering yarn – a perfectly beautiful blend of 50% Bamboo, 30% Merino Wool, and 20% Lyocell. Ideal for Spring, Blossom Fingering is soft and draping with a subtle shimmer.

The sample is shown in colors: A (Poised), B (Budding), C (Haru), D (Light Elegance), and E (Flor).

Approximately 897 yds/820 m [49 yds/45 m (Color A), 130 yds/119 m (Color B), 211 yds/193 m (Color C), 283 yds/259 m (Color D), and 224 yds/205 m (Color E)] were used in this sample.
