Crochet This Mosaic Shlanket Today – Mélange

Hello, sweet soul! I hope you’re having a wonderful day! Today, I have two very exciting things to share with you! I have an absolutely breathtaking mosaic crochet shawl/blanket pattern for you, along with a brand new Limited Edition yarn base, which we used to crochet this week’s beauty! Mélange was designed by Jane Vanselous. When asked about her pattern, she said, “Although I have worked with mosaic knitting patterns for years, mosaic crochet is a new concept for me. When asked to design something using all 10 colors of Willowmist DK yarn, I immediately thought of this technique. It uses very basic stitches, making it an ideal project for almost any experience level. The design possibilities are seemingly endless!”

“Willowmist DK yarn is a joy to work with! While it works up like most fine merino yarns, the addition of the lyocell fiber gives it a slightly silky feel, and it produces a lovely drape to the fabric after blocking.”

This is an Intermediate level pattern that is perfect for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include single and double crochet stitches, special stitches, color changes, and reading charts (optional). The pattern includes written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic, and comes with a helpful video.

Mélange is made with our new Limited Edition Willowmist DK yarn, which is a soft, lofty, wonderfully plump 3-ply blend of 80% fine Merino Wool and 20% Lyocell with a smooth hand, gentle bounce, and subtle luster that makes every stitch seem to glow. Our sample was made with one skein each of the following Willowmist DK colors: A) There and Back Again, B) Meadow at First Light, C) Second Breakfast, D) Moon Over the Shire, E) Hobbit Song, F) A Very Cozy Evening, G) Tales by Firelight, H) Pocketful of Starlight, I) Smoke From the Chimney, and J) A Kindly Enchantment. The sample used approximately 2,210 yds (2020 m) total.
