Well, I have a confession to make. I have a new baby. And I’m typing on her right now. (You can see this blog post on the screen!)

What to name her? I’ll think of something! Esmerelda?

I have an enormous beast of a laptop at home (PC) and have never owned a Mac. A few months ago, the allure of a portable laptop made its way into my heart and I began eye-balling the 13″ MacBook Air.

After months of deliberation, I finally said Yes to the Best and got a Mac. SQUEE!!

Initial impression: Impressed.

I love how it just turned on instantly without an hour-long boot-up. WOO HOO FOR THAT! I’m bursting with glee! What a “turn on!”

I can now carry this easily in my backpack and whip it out anytime! I do so much on my computer that it really is a need to have a laptop with me most of the time. Blogging, website updating, listing new products, checking emails, stock option trading, etc. I do have an iPhone and an iPad, but a computer is just flat out nice to have.

The reason I waited so long to buy it was not based on lack of funds, but rather fear. For whatever odd reason that I can’t pinpoint, I’ve always had this weird feeling that I need to stock up money or whatever it is so I have enough.

(This explains my enormous multiple room yarn and roving stash spread over two different states. I am beginning to slowly sell it out as I have begun to actually sleep with my yarn since there’s nowhere else to put it. Yep. At that point, it’s an addiction (albeit a delicious one!). The only reason I’m selling it really is to build more capital to buy my actual yarn to list on the site for you! So the addiction still runs strong!)

But back to my silly fears. When I was a little girl, my aunt Rosalie lived with us for awhile and as she was baking something, she said I sat on the counter and inquired if that was all the flour. Even at that young age, I had this worry of “running out.”

And to this day I find myself needing to store up extras of everything to make sure I don’t run out. Which is silly because I believe the Universe is all good and all giving and will and always has supplied every one of my needs and wants.

So I am facing this fear, staring it right in the face and saying to it,”Dear Fear, I appreciate you trying to protect me and keep me from harm and lack. But I have a life to live and I just can’t live it with you hanging around all the time. So please vacate the premises. Love, Me.”

So, in overcoming this fear, I went and bought myself this little MacBook Air 13″ and I am LOVING IT and am so glad I made that decision.

Also, I found this wonderful post over at Tiny Buddha (which I subscribe to and read everyday and love) about fear. It’s a wonderful, gentle way to ease yourself out of unnecessary fears.

If you have your own methods of quelling unwanted worries and fears, I’d love to hear them!

Now for knitting news:

1. I have begun this cushy, scrunchy tube scarf pattern:

knitting a tube scarf from London

I started it when I went on my trip to England, using the yarn I bought at the cute yarn shop in London, All The Fun of The Fair. I’ll keep you posted and share the pattern once it’s finished. Essentially, it’s meant to be worn as a scarf, wrapped around your neck, BUT it can also be pulled over your head and scrunched down into a super warm cowl OR used as a muff if you so happen to find yourself roaming around, oh, I dunno, the Dover Castle maybe and your hands and arms are freezing and you desperately want something to warm them up.

2. I finished this hat and will post the pattern in the next installment. It’s cool because it’s lined with a thin polar fleece headband so it’s nice and soft against the skin. This is great for anyone who has allergies or itchy skin.

3. I always feel like I just can’t knit or design fast enough. So I’ve decided I’d like to team up with other designers and have them design patterns using my yarn. It’d be a win-win situation, so if you’re interested in the details, let me know! You can click on the SHOP link at the top of this blog and then Contact Us.

Dyeing News:

I am still dyeing new colorways and hope to have them begin to roll out soon. When they do, you’ll hear about it here!!

So enjoy your day, be blessed, tell someone you love them, face your fears and they’ll vanish and all that sort of inspirational stuff. It works!

Have the greatest weekend you can imagine!

Peace & Light
