I’m so thrilled to announce our Elements yarn collections are complete and ready for sale!

I’m reveling in my “DONENESS!” I’ve plowed through as hard as possible all week to get these named, labeled, twisted, sorted, stacked and to get the pictures taken, edited, uploaded and all yarns listed on eBay and Etsy and the website. WHEW! (If ordering through the site, please let me know if you encounter any bugs or anything that looks weird or wonky, as these are the first items I’ve listed with this new shopping cart and there might be some kinks to work out. Thanks so much!)

THE YARN

These collections are created using our Luster Soft Light Fingering Weight yarn. It is ideal for socks, shawls, scarves, cowls, baby projects, amigurumi, mittens, color work (like fair isle), hats or whatever project your heart desires, using this weight of yarn!

It is a silky, super soft, washable merino wool, with a nice bounce and soft drape, and a beautiful, subtle sheen; not the shine that silk has, but a softer, more natural, wooly-sheen. Really gorgeous. A flowing shawl would be beautiful made of this! It is washable in that it will not felt and can be washed in the washing machine, but of course to preserve your project as long as possible, hand-washing is recommended. It is technically not superwash, just due to the nature of its processing, but is essentially almost identical to superwash yarn, so that is what I’m calling it.

Each skein is 100g and 337 m. This equals 3.5 oz and 369 yards, enough for a medium pair of woman’s socks.

And now for the incredibly exciting part and what I have been working on for weeks to perfect!

THE COLORS (Click on the pictures to be taken to our shopping cart)

GORGEOUS! I just have to say it. These are gorgeous.

Within the Elements collection are (surprise!) smaller collections each featuring one of the 4 elements:

Air: The colors in this collection were inspired by wind, spirit, clouds, the sun, the sky, dawn, dusk and the notion of feeling aloft with freedom and a lightness and a willingness to embrace life and its constantly shifting nature. The colors exhibit a free, flowing tendency and are rich and cool, yet soft and pleasing.

Earth: The shades in the Earth collection are rich and warm and were inspired by flowers, the ground, gardens, fairies and gnomes and other earthly creatures, history, folklore and the sense of being grounded and whole and focused.

Fire: The Fire collection is a palette of saturated warm tones, derived from ideas of flames, passion, heat, campfires, mythology, intensity and the desire to live life to its absolute fullest with zest, zeal, vigor and fearlessness.

Water: The Water collection is a cool spectrum of shades, ranging from the idea of tropical beaches and warm island water to swampy, swirling lakes to the vast, white-crested ocean. It also takes inspiration from the ideas of sailing free, determining your own path in life and flowing ever towards your goals, allowing the bobbles and tilts of life to strengthen and excite you, rather than scare or prevent you from sailing ever onward.

Having come from the cosmetic industry, where collections and similar inspirations abound, I had to cross over into this yarny world in a similar fashion. I wanted to bring a little bit of “sexiness” to the collections as well as a sense of fashion, excitement and richness.

When you knit or crochet with these shades, I want it to be a delicious experience. I want each moment to be pleasant, peaceful and positive!

Know when you are getting these yarns, you getting a piece of me! I have personally touched each skein, dyed each skein, named, tagged and labeled each skein, written the descriptions, taken and edited the pictures and essentially given a piece of my heart into each and every one.

I truly love yarn and knitting and crocheting with a passion. In fact, this IS my passion in life. I never tire of any of it and absolutely love sharing my passion of it all with you. I hope you enjoy and I cannot wait to see the projects you create!!! I’ve got my heart set on a shawl, so I now just have to decide which color!!

Also, I always want to keep my company centered around joy and love and blessing others and giving back. As such, 10% of our profits go to carefully-selected charities, like Kiva.org, WomenforWomen.org and Heifer International. This is so important to me. I make active strides in my life to have multiple streams of income so that this business never becomes about the profits or finances. I want it to always remain a joyful expression of my passion for yarn and creating (thus the name of my company), that in turn brings joy into your life (whether through my blog or actual products purchased), which in turn creates opportunities and empowerment for those less fortunate in the world.

It truly nearly chokes me up to think about it all, but this comes from my heart and I want my company to always remain centered around this mission.  In the past, I admit to having shifted more towards the greedy side of life (or should I say, self-focused) and I don’t what that to happen again. I choose joy. I choose peace. I choose to help others. I choose to inspire and encourage you in any way that I can and I pray you enjoy my blog and my products and that your life is better for having known of me and my company. 🙂

“The greatest gift you can give yourself is joy, not only because of the feeling that goes with it at the moment, but because of the magnificent experience it will draw to you. It will produce wonders in your life.
