Shimmering Shells was designed by me, Chandi Agee. This design is the perfect pattern for summer. Wear it on the beach or by the pool for a bit of coverage. You can also wear it as a poncho, or make it larger and seam it at the sides to make a ruana. Adjust the size too if you like. Make it wider, thinner, longer, shorter, the choice is yours. Made of airy, lacy stitches, this pattern is quick to work up and produces a lovely result.

This is an Adventurous Beginner level pattern and is perfect for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills/concepts include basic crochet stitches, simple garment construction, and working with more than one yarn color.

The Shimmering Shells beach tunic is crocheted with our sumptuous Yak Silk Lace yarn, which is pure luxury! When yak is combined with silk, you get an amazingly soft, lustrous, silky, saturated yarn that is impossible to ignore! Yak Silk Lace is a luscious, 2-ply blend of 50% ultra-soft yak down fiber and 50% lustrous silk. It’s buttery, creamy to the touch, and shimmery with dreamlike softness. Colors dyed onto this yarn base are rich, saturated, and bold. Perfect for sensual, soft shawls, scarves, baby clothes, socks, hats, and whatever you desire! Hold it double for projects requiring a thicker yarn. Projects made with Yak Silk Lace will be adored and treasured for years on end, and it’s loaded with yardage with 680 yds/630 m per skein!

The Updated Version shown here was made with one skein each of Goat Yak Silk Lace (Color A) and Capricorn Vision Yak Silk Lace (Color B) and used approximately 1,282 yds/1,172 m total (Color A: 641 yds/586 m and Color B: 641 yds/586 m). The Original Version shown here was crocheted with two skeins of Rice Paper Yak Silk Lace.
