I’ve got a simple, beautiful, easy, beginner-level, but still-looks-fancy-like-you-really-know-what-you’re-doing Spiral Crochet Scarf Pattern for you. And it’s free! Who doesn’t love a free pattern? YAY!
My mom designed this pattern and made a scarf out of each of my Spectrum wools for you. (They have long sold out, I’m afraid, but all of our current worsted weight yarns are here and two skeins will do the trick.)
I’m calling it “Through the Spectrum.” I’ll be posting pictures of all the different options, but for now, here is the scarf in PEACOCK DEWDROP (sold out).
It hangs in a spiral like this:
Here I’ve got it curled up all fancy like, but when worn, it hangs open like the photo directly above…
My mom is a DEAR! We’re talking, ANGEL, GODDESS, adorable, loving, wonderful little bird of a flower pod. And I tell her everyday! We talk all the time about our current crochet projects. She’s, in fact, the one who taught me how to crochet, way back when I was 9 years old! LOVE YOU, Mama Pumpkin Flower!! (We get a bit gooey with the lovey dovey names!)

I love the color and how it changes when you have it laying flat, but I’m not a fan of spiral scarves or those that use those ‘netty’ yarns. as I looked at the photos, I wondered if you could make a flower typed granny, or maybe a circular afghan. I think that would be a good way to used variegated yarns, it would just be a question of how and where to connect the rows together. maybe you or your mom have tried it and can say if it’s a good or bad idea.

Love this scarf. Just got 3 skeins of the peacock to make the darling dragon booties, whic I haven’t started yet, and now have to order more, cause I’m making this scarf today!!!
Whew, there was still more Peacock. Just ordered one more so I can make my dragon booties when I get this scarf done. I wonder if I need to order more to set aside before its all gone? ?? 🙂

Cowls are my favorite since I prefer them to scarves. The yarn that you sent last fall of the colors of the beach in Oregon where Boo proposed: I just finished a cowl using it and a few pieces of my hand-dyed roving for interest. All that’s left is to sew on the button and it’s ready to go. I love that colorway with its blues and greens and browns.

Chandi, I love this scarf. I have been looking for something different for a my great-niece who declared at age 4 she doesn’t want baby things anymore she is a big girl. She just ha a baby sister in July, so she is playing the big sister to the hilt! lol. I just finished 2 hats & almost a made up pattern for a matching scarf from the October Yarn Club Package. Can’t wait to post the pics. It’s killing me with excitement! I used a pattern you suggested from Ravelry Dark Passion Cloche. Great easy crochet pattern for anyone interested. Hats took about an hour each & made my own flower accents. I liked KrissysWonders Pattern so much I went & ordered more for future projects.
