Hello, beautiful soul! Today, I have a stunning colorwork sweater pattern that I think you’re going to love! This week’s gorgeous, knitted pullover features shadow mosaic motifs and thoughtful details to ensure a perfect fit. Keep reading to learn all about it!
Sombras was designed by Debi Maige. When asked about this pattern, Debi said, “Sombras or ‘shadows’ can certainly be a scary thing under the wrong circumstances, but in the right circumstances, shadows can create some of the most beautiful visions I can think of…a dew drop in a dark corner of the garden catching a lone sunbeam suddenly becomes a diamond in the gloom. This fun garment is worked seamlessly in the round, beginning at the bottom ribbing and moving into shadow mosaic knitting, before being split for the front and back and worked flat until the shoulders are joined with a three-needle bind off. The sleeves are picked up at the armholes and worked top down, and the neckband is the final touch.”
This Intermediate to Advanced level pattern is for the adventurous knitter who loves to tackle something a bit more complicated. Skills/concepts include chart reading, mosaic knitting, decreasing, short rows, and garment sizing. The pattern includes written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic.
Sombras is knit with our beautifully shimmering Luster Sport yarn, which is soft, squishy, luminous, and just so lovely in your hands. This scrumptious yarn is a blend of 50% Superwash Merino Wool and 50% Lyocell, a plant fiber that gives the yarn a silky glow without the silk price tag. The shine is absolutely stunning, and the drape is beautiful for shawls, wraps, garments, accessories, and so much more. Each full-sized skein includes 395 yds/361 m, and our Luster Sport Minis include approximately 175 yds/160 m per 50-gram skein.
