Hello, my pearl! I have an airy Summer shawl to share with you today, and I’d just love to tell you all about it.
Adamas was designed by Elisabeth Carr. When asked about her design, Elisabeth said, “Adamas stands for ‘diamond,’ or more specifically, ‘unconquerable’ and ‘indestructible.’ This shawl starts from the top center and spreads out to the bottom. The diamonds in this pattern are created by making chains to form gaps in the fabric in a diamond pattern. All of the stitches used are simple, beginner stitches, which makes the Adamas shawl perfect for a beginner who is looking to try a more challenging pattern.”
This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches and skills include chains, single crochet, double crochet, and carrying yarn up the side.
Adamas is made with our Mirage Sport yarn. It is perfect for items you want to treasure for years to come. Mirage Sport is a beautiful sport-weight yarn that’s luscious and supremely soft with a gorgeous drape, amazing structure, and a subtle gleam. This yarn is a blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 10% Natural Baby Camel, 10% Cashmere, and 10% Mulberry Silk. It has 350 yds/320 m per skein.
The sample shown here was made with our Weekend Hues kit and used approximately 950 yds (869 m) total: Color A: 310 yds (283 m), Color B: 330 yds (302 m), and Color C: 310 yds (283 m).
We made a video showing how to work a few rows in each section. I hope you’ll take a look!
The pattern contains written instructions only.

Hi Irene, thank you for your message. I’m happy to help. What exactly is causing you trouble? Maybe you can let me know what rows you’re having trouble with and I can try to explain.
Have a great day. – Johanna 💕
Hi Jane, I’m very sorry I missed your comment. I’m happy to help. What exactly are you having trouble with? Could you please reference a row and I’ll try my best to explain it.
Have a lovely day. – Johanna 💕
Hi! I’m loving the pattern, but I am having trouble with row 30. Don’t understand where to place the double crochets, so there’s 89 dc before the middle<3
Hi Charlotte, thank you for your question. I’ll do my best to help.
You will place your double crochets into single crochet stitches from the previous row and also chain stitches from the previous row to get to the 89 on each side. The only exception are the first 3 dc (which don’t count to the 89 dc) which will be placed into the just made slipped stitch.
I hope this makes sense and answers your question. Please, let me know if there is anything else, I can help you with.
Thanks and have a great week! – Johanna 🥰
I have Adamas about 2/3 done – using a gradient cake from Hobbii for this first time through it. I love it! The lace diamond section is time consuming, but it looks amazing! Can hardly wait to finish it. Definitely a 5* pattern!
In the solid section your video said to keep going on after the 3rd row but there is not instruction how to create the diamond pattern….i was able to make the one diamond but don’t know how to add the additional diamonds……I will order the written instructions I just need to know that the instructions cover all the rows written out.
Hi Dawn,
yes the written pattern includes the full instructions. Our tutorials aren’t full pattern videos, they are companion tutorials to the patterns. I hope this makes sense. Enjoy and have a nice weekend! 🩷
What a beautiful design. Can’t wait to make this any chance you can tell me where you got the dress or it that a pattern that’s available as well ?
Hi Amber, thank you for your message. The dress is store bought, I don’t recall right now where Chandi got it from but it’s most likely either from freepeople.com or anthropoligie.com
I hope this answers your question. Have a lovely day! – Johanna 🦋
Hello Im currently working on this and ive found a mistake in the written pattern. On row 18 you have written 1dc in each st until the ch2 sp…but in the video you have it as 1dc in each st and ch until thee ch2 sp….
I think the stich count still comes out the same for the row but it did cause a bit of confusion when i was working from the written patern only and then came back and saw the video.
Hi Cidney,
Thank you for your message. Have you downloaded the newest/updated version of the pattern? The version I’m looking at says “[…] 1 dc in each st and ch until ch 2 sp […]” in Row 18.
I hope this solves your issue. Have a nice day! – Johanna 💕
