Notes From the Designer:

A simple cabled hat with a ribbed edging. Since there are 2 size options, you can make a set and match with your sweetie or bestie!

I tapped into my Irish heritage for this pattern and chose the Irish word, Sona, for the name. Sona (SUN-a) means Happy, Lucky, Fortunate, May Fortune Smile.

As I was creating this design, I often found myself smiling and thinking about how fortunate I am to be surrounded with happy and supportive people. The word Sona is included in a proverb that reflects the sense of fortune I have found. This proverb is roughly translated as “the lucky man waits for the lucky moment.”

My lucky or fortunate moment is now and I am enjoying being able to share that fortune through my designs.

One of these days I will get to buy some of your gorgeous yarns. I love this pattern, too, but don’t know how to crochet!
