I am so grateful that I had my Grandma Bruno my Aunties and all of my family Sundays. I learned not only how to cook n care for babies. But since the age of 5 I learned to knit, crochet, embroider, needlepoint, crossstitch, ribbon crochet, sew, tatt, quilt, and so much more. I learned there are somethings in this world that are more important than things you buy. Those are the ones created with love.

I’m grateful for the following list, which are all parts of one thing – a good life.
That my family and I have always been watched over and kept safe.
That the bad time were never THAT bad, though they may have felt that way at the time.
That we’ve always had what we need, and enough to share with others.
That we’ve been there to lend a hand to friends and family, but even more so to strangers.
That others have been there to help and share with us.
That there are good people everywhere, and I’ve been lucky enough to know several.

Thanks for the giveaway. KittenWhiplash on ravelry

I am grateful for a beautiful bunch of amazing women that I met through a FB crochet site. There are 16 of us & we have become firm friends & meet up annually for a long weekend together.
We are located across 3 states but have been there for each other for so many good and bad times… job loss, divorce, death of a spouse, father mother, child, terrible medical diagnosis & health crisis. We have supported each other across the miles.
I love these women so much and am so very grateful to have them in my life.

I am grateful that my Mother passed away and is no longer in pain. I am grateful for the knowledge that she is with my father after 31years of waiting. I am grateful the burden of her care has been lifted from me. I am grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ and the comfort and peace I have received as I begin to find a new normal and continue with my life with my greatest cheerleader not here. I am ever grateful for her teaching me to crochet and encouraging me to go for it and buy your lovely yarn. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be typing this right now. So I guess I’m saying I’m grateful for my Mother and all she has done for me.

The one thing I am most grateful for is my daughter. It took my husband and I almost 3 years and lots of tears and struggles to be able to have her. She’s named after my best friend that passed away while I was pregnant with her. Even though she’s only 4 years old she is a daily inspiration to me, she’s a reminder that my friend is always there watching over us, and that anything is possible if you believe. She’s also the reason I started knitting and crocheting again!! I love to make things for her and her dolls.

I am so grateful that my hands can still knit, crochet, felt, paint, draw and create. When I was diagnosed with MS in 1998, I was so afraid I was going to lose feeling and functionality of my left hand. My disease has progressed (I retired from teaching in 2012) but my hands still work. I think part of the reason why is because I keep my hands and brain active… Still there is so much to be grateful for. ❀

I am also grateful that the spider bite while bad two weeks ago wasn’t worse than it was and in time will heal. And last but not least I am so very grateful that I discovered part of the reason I was so sick growing up was wheat. I gave it up in February and feel oh so much better.

I am a rapid cycling manic/depressive and have been on every medication and spend thousands of dollars in therapy to no avail. Then I picked up my knitting needles and crochet hooks and remembered my great aunts and great grandmother working with yarn and making such beautiful things. To my amazement, I found that working with these simple tools, having to pay attention to what I was doing and the anticipation of the finished product, quieted my mind, stilled my thoughts, and brought me such peace. Thinking of our foremothers and fathers sitting around the fire in the evening, knitting and crocheting sweaters, socks, shawls and other items is just fascinating to me. It’s simply amazing that with basically two needles or a hook and some yarn, they were able to make pieces like those we see with Shetland Lace, Estonian lace, and others. I am so very grateful that I have a wonderful hubby that tolerates my yarn and my projects, the healing that I find when working on a piece, and all the men and women that work to keep the yarn arts alive in this age of industrialized, assembly line production.

I am grateful for my family. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They raised me perfectly and I think I grew up great. But I know people are reading comments other people put so hear this; if your child’s grades suddenly start dropping, don’t get mad. It could be a mental issue. Don’t blame them and hit them for it. Listen to them first. Then get them tested if you can afford it. And I mean DROPPING. Straight A’s to sudden C’s or D’s. Also, even after working medication, the news of them being mentally disabled is hard to deal with. They might not be the same happy child as before. I want to raise awareness of this. Mental disabilities. Please don’t blame your child. It’s already hard for them because they’re still trying their hardest just like before. It’s just never good enough.

Five years ago I became seriously ill. I was given a 10% chance of living. Before this I was just floating through life, going where the wind blew me, that sort of thing. But then I was thrown into this life and death health scare. Believe me, you can do a lot of soul searching at a time like that and I kept coming back to the one person who had been with me through all of it. He was right there holding my hand with tears in his eyes. I’m sure you’ve guessed it, the “he” that I’m speaking of is my husband. Next month we will be celebrating 23 years married. Don’t get me wrong it has not all been sunshine and light but I am incredibly grateful for every second I get to spend with him and every second I get to continue walking on this earth.

He works on our cars and fixes everything except the most difficult of repairs. Single ladies, word of advice from an old married lady, if he’s not a car guy, run in the other direction! You will be paying a car note the rest of your life and getting ripped off by unscrupulous car mechanics.

I am grateful for my family and friends. My hubby of nearly 45 years, my kids and grandkids bring such joy in my life! My grandmother crocheted lace with cotton thread until she died at age 90, even though she was totally blind in her later years. I have the same hereditary eye condition that caused her blindness but don’t think I could ever knit or crochet blind. I am happy to do my best and enjoy creating while I have my sight.

I’m grateful for my family. My mom, who is my hero and best friend, and has always supported me. My brother, who always has my back and would stand against the world with me. My step-dad, who makes my mom smile and is just really a good guy all a round. And my three cats who always seem to know when I need cuddles or need to smile and laugh.

I’m grateful for SO MANY things! I’m especially thankful for my family. I’m truly God-blessed that such a large family (17 at this point) all love each other so unconditionally.
I’m also thankful for the ability to crochet gifts for them and know they will each be thrilled with what I make them. I know not all crafters are blessed with appreciation for the labors of love they create.

No matter the curves that life loves to throw, there are always things to be grateful for. I am fortunate and grateful to still have both parents who are in their 80’s and remain married to each other. My sister and her husband have awesome twin girls that I am grateful to call my nieces. I am grateful for the roof over my head, good food to eat, very few health issues, an awesome mate, & wonderful kitty. And grateful for the opportunity to collect a good yarn stash and the time to put some of it to use πŸ™‚
