Hello, my lovely fiber friend! Wondering how to substitute yarn in your knitting or crochet project? We have a video for you showing you how easy it is. Also…this week I want to share with you a beautiful new knitted wrap pattern we just announced called Dream Glow.

This beautiful wrap was designed for us by Gazal Mohammed and features simple lace and cables! In the video this week, we talk all about how to think about your projects (if they have lace, cables or other features) and how to choose yarns for that pattern based on the qualities you want to achieve in your finished project.

The designer says: “I learned to knit when I was 20 years old. As an Afghani living in Saudi Arabia, I taught myself by watching YouTube videos because when I started to learn knitting, there were no knitting videos in Arabic. Therefore, I had to learn English as well. Once I learned to knit and learned a little English, I opened a YouTube channel to teach knitting in Arabic. Knitting may have started out as a hobby, but then I discovered that it was a passion. I started designing in 2018. Knitting designers are not common in the Arab community, so to see another knitter make one of my designs would be one of the most exciting things I could imagine, and it would fill me with incredible joy and be a dream come true.”

The sample shown used 3 skeins of Fuchsia Glow in our Mirage Sport yarn. This yarn is a blend of 70% superwash merino wool, 10% natural baby camel, 10% cashmere, and 10% mulberry silk. The yarn of your dreams! The sample wrap used approximately 971 yards/888 meters total.

We’ve gotten a lot of positive comments on this new yarn base and I’m so tickled!

We filmed a video tutorial for you showing you how easy it is to substitute yarns in your knitting and crochet patterns. Take a look:

This Adventurous Beginner level pattern contains both written and charted instructions.

This wrap’s length and width are customizable, but will affect the yardage needed. Isn’t it just stunning?
