Hi Chandi,
I get inspired by different patterns, yarns, and new techniques to learn. I also enjoy making things for myself and loved ones. I appreciate your website and videos. You are so positive and encouraging!
I get inspired by thinking the look on the person’s face when I give them something I make. Usually it a big smile as they wrap a shawl around their shoulders and feel how soft the yarn is and see the pattern and all. Or how cute the baby looks all wrapped up and how hard they clutch the new blanket.
My inspiration is color I see all the beautiful colors of nature around me i am able to bring those colors into my home and space through your yarn thank you so very much
Hi Chandi,
You’re the one inspiring me.
I’m kind of a beginner, discovered you, your videos and your yarns that are sooo beautiful.
I want to do all your patterns with all your yarns and more.
You really have brought Beauty in my Life ❣️
Thank You ❣️❣️❣️
I love to crochet to create beautiful gifts for my family and friends they will cherish.
I get inspired mostly by making things for other people. I like to experiment with new techniques or color combinations when I don’t have to feel the pressure to love what I made, because I’m a perfectionist enough that if I don’t love it, I won’t want to keep it for myself. So knowing it’s going to someone else, where they won’t notice if it isn’t 100% perfect, makes me more inclined to be adventurous.
So it’s the people that I make things for that inspire me.
Hi Chandi, I get my inspiration from the colors of your yarn. I love making beautiful pieces for my daughters and my sisters. The peaceful world I fall into while I am working on a project or just watching your tutorials puts a smile on my face and in my heart.
I love love love knitting!!! It was a lifesaver for me after my daughter passed away…we taking care of her preemie who had a nurse…that nurse taught me to knit…it helped me so much to deal with the stress and grief i was dealing with…many nights it helped to calm me and focus my mind so i could sleep…now i love to make gifts for others…especially baby things!
The first thing in the morning (after feeding the cats) is picking up my needles and knitting for a few minutes before I start my day. Knitting is in my DNA and I’m inspired by the challenge to create something using beautiful yarns
Thanks so much for sharing your comment Kathy!! Condolences to you and your family. I do want to say, I found myself smiling as I reached the end of your comment. As a former OB/NICU RN….your words resonated with me. As a permanently disabled individual now, your words also resonated with me. When I became disabled, I cried more due to the sudden end of my career…than the several new diagnoses I received! 😉 I was basically confined to my home, and set off to learn crochet per YouTube. It was my therapy! It’s amazing how such a thing as ‘crochet’ can have an effect on so many. Thanks again! 💞
Hi Chandi,
I’m inspired by your Friday videos and patterns! I look forward to them every week for my next projects. Thank you
Hi Chandi,
My inspiration for knitting things for my friends and family comes from each of their personalties, and believe me they are varied, so I always have a sense of spirit when I make something for each of them!
I get inspired from the yarn lovers on all the wonderful pages like the Expression Fiber Arts on Facebook and ravelry who share all their beautiful creations, advice and answers to questions! It’s a wonderful community to be a part of!
I get inspired by nature! I made a round blanket that looked like the umbral flowers of the Queen Anne’s lace wild carrots flower. I added some embroidery of little red flowers in the center.
Hey there,
You have been a big inspiration for me. When I first started I was having a difficult time finding tutorials that worked for me but your YouTube channel really helped concepts click in my head. The work you do is stunning and I really appreciate that for a limited time patterns are available for free so there is a variety of beautiful projects that I can work on building skills with and that is invaluable. I have just started playing with design for my own work and a lot of my experience was built with a foundation created by you and your team. I wear mostly black and it is nice to be able to add an accent piece that is a pop of color here and there and knitting give me the chance to make things that really pop! Love the work you all do! Thank you so much!
I actually learned how to crochet from Expression Fiber Arts videos. I’m inspired from projects I see or nature or patterns that I haven’t explored yet. New stitches and techniques are intriguing to me and I love to learn new things. I have only attempted knitting maybe once. I do need to figure out out one day. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO CHANDI!!! Your yarn is beautiful and your videos are perfect.
What inspires me is the yarn itself. I think that it, somehow, tells me what kind of project will be perfect for it. Am I crazy? 😉😄
For me it’s the person that I’m crocheting for that inspires me. Almost like when I cook food I put ‘love’ into the food because I know what joy it will bring my family. The same for crocheting I put love into it for the person because it makes the project that much more special.
What inspires me is my best friend. He introduced me to crocheting and we found something to bond over daily. Also seeing all the things I can create for myself and others brings me life. I’m still new to this, but true to this.
I get inspired in my knitting and crocheting when I see the work of others! I’m loving seeing other people’s WIPs and FOs in the new Facebook group! I’ve learned so much just in the few months since participating in the MCAL and MKAL!
Oh my gosh, yes! Did you see that Duga inspired by the Rhode Island beach?! A-MAZ-ING! Took my crafty goals to new heights!
Seeing new to me patterns inspire me to create either via crocheting or knitting or even quilting.
OOoo lovely offerings to tempt the inner girl child.
Look it has to be the marriage of yarn to pattern. If I don’t have that yes, perfect match moment, my heart just isn’t in it and it then becomes a slog. When everything feels perfect, the needles sing. 😄
Thanks again for the chance, Chandi! 🤗
I get inspired by seeing beautiful work like yours and by what I can knit or crochet for close family and friends to show my love for them. I have a charity group at church and I get inspired seeing our members progress in learning new skills snd working together to comfort others with handmade treasures.
Hi Chandi:
Love the colors in this month’s giveaway, and I am feeling lucky as this is my birthday month.
Hope you have a great day, and please keep sending your uplifting daily message,, as they make me smile.
Chandi,
You have i spired me so much with your beautiful creations, and yarns. It inspires me to get better at knitting to be able to use your yarn to make your gorgegous patterns.
Hi Chandi:
Love the colors in this month’s giveaway, and I am feeling lucky as this is my birthday month.
Hope you have a great day, and please keep sending your uplifting daily messages, as they make me smile, and are often inspiring.
Mostly the yarn, I would suppose. What’s the best use for it (neck thing, garment, etc.)?
I’m inspired by yarn and patterns. I love finding the perfect pattern for any yarn I buy. Some yarn will sit for a year plus until the right patterns comes along.
I started crocheting again in my 40s so I could teach my daughter and pass down a tradition my mother passed to me. We love to look through patterns to find things to make for friends & family. We love making shawls and clothing. I like to challenge myself to make something I think I’ll never be able to make, and she’s my biggest cheerleader and inspiration to try something more difficult. That’s how I found you. Your shawls and tops are absolutely beautiful! I hope to make them all. And the yarn!! Such gorgeous colors. I love how you show the inspiration for the color ways. Thank you for the opportunity to win some of your gorgeous yarns. I know exactly what we would be making.
Hi Chandi! I am inspired by color and things I find beautiful, whether it’s the way old worn asphalt looks on a bright day (speckled off white shades graduating to dark dark gray), or the constrasts of textures (roughness of said worn asphalt and the smooth, softness of flowers that have fallen from a tree). Sometimes, it’s what that thing I’m looking at makes me feel. Trees invokes wonder and feeling small, or big skies making me feel like like I’m free. Some of your colorways gives me some of these feelings (Fall Hike, I think it was called… I’m saving it for a special pattern)
Hello Chandi, I was inspired by you to learn to knit❣
sometimes color inspires me, sometimes a pattern, sometimes just the way a yarn feels makes me want to make something ……thanks for the opportunity to someday win your glorious yarn
I’m inspired by natural things combined with mythical or real creatures. Since over 90% of what I create are crochet sculptures and amigurumi it’s easy to see what I love making ❤️
Hello Chandi you brighten the day with your blog. Love to see the use of color mixed with a romantic stitch = dreamy project. Thanks for brightening my day!
I am inspired by the people I love. I always knit/crochet love in every so they can feel my hug every time they use/wear the item I have made for them.
Hi Chandi, I get inspired with all the beautiful patterns and yarn out today. There is so much more than when I started going to Ben Franklin store. I am now retired so I am so enjoying planning my days around crocheting and knitting with my friend. Thanks for all the things you and yours staff do. Thanks Rose
I’m inspired to knit or crochet by seeing what other people have made. I also love Chandi’s Facebook Lives which is another inspiration. And, I crochet for a charity that is close to my heart, so that’s definitely been an inspiration.
what inspires me: most of the time it’s the yarn. I got some beautiful blue yarn from you and I thought “this reminds me of water” which made me think of ripples, then dragonflies over the ripples. So I made a wrap with ripples and dragonflies, turned out beautiful. Anyway, thank you for the opportunity to let us win some of your fabulous yarn. As I already mentioned, I’ve purchased yarn from you and absolutely loved it. Thank you.
Your gorgeous yarn colors inspire me! Also learning new techniques make me want to create spectacular creations!
J’adore vos modèles et couleurs ce mois ci c’est tout à fait magnifique.
Je participe
Different seasons, and different colours! And hey, Pinterest too!
What inspires me to crochet is just the joy of making. Getting new ideas and seeing yarn colors and figuring out techniques to try and execute those ideas! I love gifting my creations and seeing people’s reactions and finishing projects so I can start the next
Sometimes patterns I’ve seen on different webpages, sometimes just a walk outside (especially in autumn), and sometimes really good-looking yarn.
I’m inspired by interesting patterns.
I’m inspired by the beautiful Irish countryside – I’m so lucky to live where I do – and by the many excellent tutorials and blogs online. I also have a lifetime’s collection of wonderful crafting books that inspire me every time I look through them.
Chandi, I absolutely love all of your patterns and can’t wait to try some of them out! Your yarns look divine and look like something I would want to hoard rather than use, LOL!
Hi Chandi! I think what inspires me in my knitting and crocheting is finding beautiful yarns, amazing patterns and seeing other makers showing their projects. Thank you Chandi! ❤️
OOH, so beautiful! COLOR inspires me in both crochet and my artwork. The way shadow and color play is always inspiring to my senses.
I am inspired by the transformation of turning yarn into something else. One day it could be a blanket, the next day it could be a sweater. Pick another colour and make the same item as before, but now it’s instantly different. Pick the same colour but change the stitch used, and again its different. I’m inspired by the infinite choices at the end of my needles and hooks which enable me to create something both beautiful and useful.
I love to knit and crochet. I think what inspire me the most is the yarn. I love the feel of a quality yarn sliding through my fingers. . The colors excite me. I love yarn that has many colors throughout, I get excited when a new color is introduced. Way too many times I find a yarn that I must have and then I look for a pattern to show it off.
Thank you for these wonderful give aways. It’s like playing the lottery. I just keep hoping my entry will be picked someday.
Yarn colors and patterns inspire me to knit more. These can be in any order. The pandemic really gave me the opportunity to knit and explore. Also the variety of dyers out there. Each one has a color pallet that is unique to them.
Hi Chandi,
Sometimes I get inspired by the colors and one will jump out and say it needs to be made into something for a certain person. Sometimes that happens with a pattern….and sometimes there’s just something about the name of the yarn or pattern that you just know that whatever you’re making and the time you spend with the yarn is going to be just wonderful and the journey to the end result is going to be amazing!
Thank you for all that you share with us – your emails are a positive message I look forward to finding in my inbox!
Sheri
I get most inspired by ”He who knit me together in my Mother’s womb.” That is, God!
I’m inspired by simple but effective patterns … and of course the yarns themselves
Gosh I can be inspired by a fun color, a project that makes me remember a friend and smile, my moods, the weather, the long ago kid in me..I could go on and on.
Your yarn inspires me! It is so beautiful and luxurious! I love the yarn, the pictures that inspire the yarn and your so so helpful videos! Thank you Chandigarh!❤️
Cheriee Jones congratulations with the beautiful yarn!!!!!! Have much fun with it.
The pattern on Friday and your yarn, that inspires me!
Thanks fot all you give to us.
Love, Marga
A few years ago, I broke three fingers in my left hand and it didn’t heal well. I’ve had three surgeries trying to improve mobility and correct deformity with little success. Over the course of three years, I spent more than 40 weeks in a full hand cast, severely weakening my muscles. After my most recent surgery, my doctors didn’t even recommend physical therapy anymore because they didn’t feel that it would be very helpful.
This past Christmas, I was going through a sort of mental tiff with myself because between Covid and my injury I was no longer able to participate in any of my old hobbies and I was feeling pretty lost. Then I remembered my mother used to crochet. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to hold the work in my hand well enough to crochet, but decided I could probably manage to compensate well enough to knit.
Six months later, my hand strength is at very least slightly improved And I can manage to knit without a tension ring now. I’d say I’m an advanced beginner and I’m totally addicted to to the craft! I love the patterns, videos and weekly emails I get from Chandi! She’s so warm and inspiring and it really feels like she’s talking to me. I’m working up the courage and funds to attempt one of my favorite patterns so far with Expression Fiber Arts yarn soon! Winning this giveaway would mean the world to me
Things for my granddaughter inspire me, also colors and the feel of a yarn.
It’s nature that inspires me. I am often in awe of the riot of colors around me when I go for my morning walks. Almighty’s creations humble me and make me say to myself every single moment I have on this planet is a blessing.
I love using colorful yarns and any combination with the white shade. White has the power to mute or accentuate other shades.
@Chandi, thank you for hosting this fantastic giveaway.
I’m inspired by my family, new babies and meditation with the lord. I find my self talking to the lord when I’m quietly crocheting.
May you also find your self doing the same.
God bless
So many things bring inspiration! Flowers, scenery, Nature, new patterns (knit or crochet) give me ideas! Too many ! !
Beautiful yarn, as always!
Hey Chandi
I just love your blog and always watch the new entries on your you tube channel. I have only one problem… Whenever I start new project from the free Friday patterns I see following Friday’s pattern and I want to knit that! Every week’s patterns are just awesome. I wish I could afford your yarns which are super beautiful…. One day 😄😊
My family and friends are my inspiration with my projects. I love making for them. I love all colors and the soft textures of the yarns and what projects you could do with them. It is addicting and exciting to accomplish each one. Thank you Chandi and team for also keeping the inspiration alive.
I loved the colors combination of the yarns. It gives me the inspiration to knit your projects all the time. Thank you Chandi and team for doing a good job. Kudos to you all.
Hi Chandigarh. My mom taught me to knit when I was six and truly love it still some fifty years later. Nature inspires me with it’s beauty, thus when I finish a project, I admire the beauty of my creation. Thx for this giveaway opportunity to maybe recieve this beautiful yarn 5o create more awesome projects.
Hey Chandi
I just love your blog and always watch the new entries on your you tube channel. I have only one problem… Whenever I start new project from the free Friday patterns I see following Friday’s pattern and I want to knit that! Every week’s patterns are just awesome. I wish I could afford your yarns which are super beautiful and just exquisite…. One day 😄😊
Ooh, how lovely colurs and beautiful yarns! This is something that inspires me: irresistible yarns that ask to become pretty wearables; also, intriguing and challenging patterns. And not least: nature – the colours in the sky over the sea, a hedgerow with lilacs in bloom, the light coming through beech trees in spring …
Hi Chandi, Tim and crew, thank you for the opportunity that one day I may be fortunate to receive your beautiful yumminess of yarn. I am inspired by the glorious colours and textures of our lives, that surrounds us. The colour images, yarn photos and inspirational words which arrive by email magic, from you. The hopes and dreams for the person I am making for.
Hi Chandi!
I get inspired either by yarn, or by pictures of patterns. I’m very visual that way!
Hi Chandi, Tim and crew, Thank you this opportunity to receive such a wonderful gift from you. I am inspired by this rich diverse world we live in, as we head into winter the changing light on our mountains now capped with snow,as the last colours leave the trees, the deepening shadows, warmth of the fire and fellowship. Your yams, inspirational words and images instil a strong urge to create. And the dreams, hopes and love for the person I am making for. Thank you
I’m often inspired by the yarn – the colours and the textures give me more ideas than I can keep up with!
The colours and the texture of the yarns inspire me to try your stunning patterns. I have even adapted a couple of your patterns to use some of my left over yarns. Stunning!!!
Like you, I’m inspired by botanical images. I find the best color combinations in the natural world. My favorites are orchids and fuchsias. I knit and crochet jewelry, mostly, but I want to learn more. If I win I’ll share with my best friend, who is a knit and crochet genius.
I get inspired by the people I love. I want to give them beautiful, hand made items.
Seeing what others have created can be inspiring too.
I am inspired by beautiful patterns.
Lately, I’ve been playing with stitches – textures and variations – and just having fun swatching.
I get inspired being around others who love fiber arts. The energy, the enthusiasm, the spark… that’s what motivates me!
Hi Chandi, Inspiration in the fiber arts comes from so many area’s. The love of color, the feel and look of the yarn and what wonderful things we can create from it.
I am inspired by the people I love to make things for! My family and friends inspire me because I love to gift anything I knit or crochet to them!
Hi Chandi 👋😊
I get inspired in knitting and crocheting by your patterns and videos and also by the personalities of the people. Knitting and crocheting helps me a lot to deal with my depression.
Thank you for the beautiful giveaways each month 🤗
My main inspiration is Colour with a capital C !!!
I have been inspired to crochet by your beautiful positive spirit. I have ADHD and can suffer terribly with my mental health. Your videos take me somewhere else where I can feel peaceful. I always receive such positive comments about the things I make from your website. It makes me feel proud of the things I’m able to produce and in turn has inspired me to sew and paint too.
The beautiful colors around me are inspiring especially when you get up with the sun and watch everything come “alive” for the day.
Hai Chandi,
I’m inspired by your Friday videos and patterns, because I love so much to knit and crochet. So many patterns I love to knit or crochet. Knitting or crocheting makes me feel calm and happy, although I can’t afford to have beautiful yarns.
Hope for the opportunity someday to win your beautiful yarns
Color is inspiring! For knitting and crochet, I find that I will first choose a color and then a project. There are some colors for me that say- “I want to be a hat.” Others are shirts, socks amigurumi, etc.
For other projects I’m inspired by the creator’s vision for a pattern.
Lots of things inspire me – a colour palette, a theme, someone else’s placement of colour, sometimes the designer’s own colour scheme. It’s amazing how different the same pattern can look in a different colour or range. I love it when a happy “accident” occurs creating a project you love from a limited range of what you have in stash and using colours you wouldn’t normally think of putting together.
Nature is my inspiration. The changing color pallet each day leads me to be more spontaneous amd brave combining textures and color choices.
I am typically inspired by patterns I see and if I need to make a gift for someone. I love when I find the perfect pattern for it.
Chandi,
The colors are gorgeous this mont (as usual).
I’m inspired with the beauty and touch of the yarn.
I love making things by hand. It seems like such a special gift for someone when you created it almost from scratch. Color definitely inspires me, and thinking about the person I’m creating for. I love the silky shine and drape of your yarns!
I never thought that coming back to my past “life” of crocheting would have given me so many “rush” memories of my childhood and realizing that I loved sitting, reflecting, relaxing and forimg a ball of yarn into something spectacular! I am elated to find you Chandi and your team. Thanks for letting me rediscover a part of me.. 💕🥰. Good luck to the winner,🥳
I’m inspired by the season usually. Spring has brought a rash of light shawl castons in cheery colors. Fall brings cowls and hats in oranges and rusts. Winter is for swesters and hats in creams and grays.
Mostly, I am inspired by the incredible colors of today’s yarns. I love watching how they dance across the needles!
A beautiful pattern inspires me to try and learn new techniques but it is the color of the yarn that get me moving as I always find a color that reminds me of a person I care for. This goes for all the types of art I create.
I’m inspired by other’s appreciation of my craft, and by the creativity of those whose patterns I recreate or adapt. I’m inspired because we can use rough animal fur fibers to create gorgeous, colorful yarns that result in beautiful wearables, etc. A little bit of awesomeness!
Hi Chandi, This is another gorgeous selection of yarns! I find inspiration in many things but most recently, it’s yarn itself. When an email with a yarn sale or pattern suggestion comes in, I’m immediately checking out all of the colours available and dreaming up combinations to create with. Garden catalogues are another source this year – so many ideas, not enough hands!
I am inspired by the colours around me -as they change season to season, and place to place.
My inspiration comes from my knitting group friends and family. Seeing their beautiful works and choice of patterns pushes me to try new things.
I get inspired by learning new techniques and beautiful color combinations.
Knitting and crocheting is my therapy. I am inspired by what brings me joy, whether it be a beautiful color, pattern, or just the feeling of the yarn.
I think seeing other people’s projects tends to inspire mine.
Thank you for another chance to win some gorgeous yarn! June is my birthday month and I love the colors! I’m always inspired by shapes, either the shape of the entire finished piece or the shapes created by the stitches. Then I love to match colors to the shape if that makes sense.
Both the old and the new inspire me – I am at my most comfortable when knitting cables or Aran-inspired pieces, yet over the past few months I have taught myself the surprising style called double-knit. I love colours – for myself I prefer muted shades but for my family, the colour. My Gran taught me to knit over seventy-five years ago (mostly to save her sanity, I think) and I have rarely been without something on the needles since. Thank you for the chance to possibly knit withfor your yarns
I get inspired by several things, therefore I always have too many WIP’s at the same time 🙂 When I see a beautiful yarn I am inspired to find the right pattern for it to do it justice, and I get inspired from seeing the creations of other knitters/ crocheters around the world.
I’m inspired by color. I knit, crochet, weave and quilt. My favorite part of all the processes is playing with the color, making new color combinations and watching what happens next!
I both knit and crochet. The color and feel of the yarns inspire me. I usually create gifts for others, but occasionally splurge on myself. 😉 Thank you for your beautiful yarns!
Hi Chandi
I am inspired by the colours of the hand dyed yarns and their names. I also picture the excitement of the person I am knitting/crocheting the item for when they receive it.
Your Friday patterns are amazing and make my fingets want to cast on that day!
Thank you
I’m inspired by shapes in nature and by unusual color combinations I just happen to notice out in the world!
Beautiful patterns and FO inspire me. They inspire me to look further into them, to see what yarns might look amazing with them, to decide to make them for myself or as gifts. That was how I decided that knitting wasn’t enough and I needed to learn to crochet too – I saw a couple different crochet patterns that I just NEEDED to make so I set out to learn how to crochet. Now I love both skills passionately.
I get inspired by lots of things. Sometimes I see a pattern and think of the perfect yarn to use to make it. Sometimes the weather inspires me to knit something. Sometimes it’s a person that I think of when I see a particular pattern. The frost pattern on the windows sent me on a search for the perfect lace pattern once, and that search caused me to add a few more patterns to my list of must make projects.
What inspires me is the joy I see on the faces of the recipients of my hard work.
I feel inspired by the thought that the items I make will bring others warmth and comfort. Most of the items I make I donate to local charities. I feel too much pressure when I make things as gifts – hoping the recipe will like and use what I’ve made. When I create things to be donated, I don’t feel that pressure and can focus on the pattern the colors, and the textures.
I’ve been waiting for a great grandchild to knit for and he/she is due to arrive in December!
I entertain myself year round with knitting socks and sweaters. Those are my favorite articles to knit.
I get inspired for new crochet projects by browsing thru Instagram and magazines!
I get inspired by my own imagination! I collect ideas from fantasy worlds, Fae, Dungeons and Dragons and then mix them all up to make my own little monsters and creatures.
beautiful people like you inspire me, but so does lovely yarn. thank you for being an inspiration to others. and thank you for the chance to win some of you lovely yarn. God bless you and yours
I find just the sheer possibilities inspire me. I also find it really encouraging when I try a pattern with a new technique and it comes out beautiful.
What inspires me to knit is usually an interesting pattern. I LOVE your patterns! Also, the feel and colors of yarn will inspire me to buy, then find a pattern to knit with it. Thank you for all of your beautiful yarns and patterns.
Yarn, in all it’s magnificent colors always inspire mer to knit!! There are some beautiful in this prize lot that has me dreaming of lovely patterns that I would love to knit.
It’s the adventure of learning new stitches, putting them together and making beautiful projects! Gorgeous yarn just makes it all the more fun. 😁
I’m in awe of the colors in nature and am inspired to create something using these lovely color combinations!
I find inspiration from the things I see. The way beautiful colors go together. There’s a harmony in nature that expresses itself in color you wouldn’t think would be there. There’s usually hints of green in everything, even when you don’t think it would be there. Inspiration can create feelings of harmony, happiness and calm.
Hi Chandi
I love the beautiful colors and texture of the yarn. I enjoy making something beautiful.
Thank you for the patterns you give us.
Hi Chandi,
I love designing new crochet patterns, especially shawls and sometimes some hair accessories, Also I enjoy making amigurumi toys for myself.
It’s the yarn! Always is. The beautiful colours, the textures, the feeling of the yarn moving through my hands. Knitting is such a visual feast. And that delicious pile is a super feast. Thanks for the chance!
Hi Chandi,
I love designing new crochet patterns, especially shawls and sometimes some hair accessories, Also I enjoy making amigurumi toys for myself.
Hi, dearest Chandi, your blog never fails to inspire me! Always sending me such beautiful yarnie goodness in my email🥰 thank you for being you!
I like being self sufficient. I make the things I need around my home, and in my wardrobe. I was taught to hand sew and crochet at eight years old. Hand painting clothing and designing came next. Currently crocheting lace curtains for all my windows.
My inspiration for crocheting is all the possibilities if only you let your imagination flow. I love yarn.
New projects inspire me! I love finding new projects to try.
I love seeing other people’s creations whether they are crochet, knitting or weaving, and sometimes I see a new technique that I want to try. I love how others put together colour combinations that I wouldn’t think of, and my eldest daughter is a master at this. 🙂 Have a lovely day.
It could be anything. Usually a pattern, though.
Hi Chandi! I love to knit and crochet to make beautiful gifts for my family and friends.
My inspiration comes from a variety of places, sometimes it’s a design that jumps out at me, other times it’s the ease and simplicity that inspire me to pick up my needles.
I’m inspired to knit by beautiful yarn and by memories of my mom who taught me to knit! Thanks for the chance to win your beautiful yarn.
I usually find myself drawn to knit the items that I can see myself using, or that I can imagine a family member enjoying. Finding really nice yarn in look and/or feel also goes a long way to encourage me. With crochet, I’m still very much a beginner, but I seem to always end up wanting to create the biggest, most complex objects that I see on Ravelry and Etsy. I guess it’s a combination of the challenge and the potential of the end object lol
Socks, all the socks of late because it is summer I seem to always knit small projects. I love to knit patterned socks.
I can’t turn any of this yarn down. So lovely, yet I need to knit faster to make room for more in my Stash. Because I KNOW there will be more.
Hi Chandi,
What inspires me most is working with my hands and being able to create something useful such as a blanket, baby sweater, mitts, or household items. Combining my imaginative creativity and my love of colour and texture of yarn, especially wool, I cannot stop knitting! It also helps me to develop other skills such as crochet, landscape quilting, and drawing.
Trying new things inspires me. New techniques, color, pattern. I have to have multiple WIPs at all times to keep it interesting!
I am most inspired by my travels. Seeing new places and experiencing new cultures always inspires a new design.
I’m working to finish a sweater before my sock machine arrives! I ordered back in Jan and should receive it the end of June.
I’m inspired by all the beautiful projects I see online. I have always been the kind of person who struggles with things I’m not immediately good at. I tend to give up easily. But with knitting and crochet, I want to get better, and they’re actually some of the first things in my life that I’ve given myself permission to take slowly and work on getting better slowly. I’ll get there! The road isnt perfect, but it’s imperfectly lovely!
Soft yarn inspires me, so do fantastic patterns. A compliment on a pattern or yarn from a stranger will melp me work harder on completing a project. Your patterns, and yarns inspire me. LOVE the colors, and fibers.
Love for my family is what inspires me to crochet and now learn how to knit. Your videos and patterns and the colors makes it so easy to find more inspiration!!
I’m inspired by the beautiful yarns you create. Your color ways make my heart sing!
It’s mostly a mood thing for me — what do I feel like knitting? So the ultimate inspiration may come from a pattern, or a yarn (hopefully in my stash!). But right now I’m doing some required knitting; my nephew and his wife are expecting twins, so I must knit 2 baby sweaters, even though I don’t want to. So perhaps my current inspiration is the knitting that awaits me when I get these darned sweaters finished?
I am inspired by all of the gorgeous patterns and yarns that are available to us!
My inspiration would be color first. I fall in love with your inspirational pictures and then when I see the yarn, the colors are spot on. So amazing! I’d like to say I’m a processed knitter but truely, I love everything about it. Your yarn colors are out of this world. I have the please of owning 3 skeins. Yum. If I could I would buy so much more!
I’m inspired by nature’s colors and seeing your beautiful yarns and patterns! They are always so wonderful to look at!
inspiration comes from seeing other ppl finished objects, their colors or the style of the item attracts me, love bright happy colors, love touch yarn, looking at patterns, it all makes me want to make more items, makes me want to knit. I also love crochet but prefer fine threads in that
Talented pattern designers definitely inspire me, but sometimes it’s the yarn! I’ll see some beautiful yarn and then take on the challenge to find a pattern that will show off its beauty. I like patterns that are challenging so I can keep learning. I took up Tunisian crochet not too long ago and it has brought a whole new opportunity to showcase lovely yearn and amazing design work.
I am inspired by chances to try different stitch patterns to make patterns for shawls, cowls, wraps and hats all my own.
Making people happy with the things I make inspires me to keep crocheting. Thanks again for the chance at a giveaway!
I’m 70, retired, and have a new addiction: EFA yarn. I’ve become a yarn snob for sure ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ The feeling of EFA yarn in my hands is so satisfying, and the resulting piece so beautiful, why should I waste time on the junk yarn sold elsewhere? I crochet at least four hours each day, and it relaxes my active mind as I listen to Audible books. My creations are always for others, and I enjoy thinking of that person with every stitch. Because I’m a computer science PhD, I wrote my own code for yarn computations and stash management. LIFE IS GOOD! (◕‿◕✿)
Most of my inspiration comes from my creative friends. We all share an almost consuming quest for more color and shapes and stitches. And the indie dyers who share their talents! The core of my love of fiber is Color. And yours, Chandi, always inspire me!
I love that there’s always a new stitch, technique, or pattern to try! Never gets boring. I like to crochet useful, cozy items for my family and myself.
I knit for family and friends, and for charity. I am inspired by the textures and colors of yarn. Should I have the good fortune to win, I will definitely be sharing with my knitting peeps! Thank you for the chance to win.
What inspires me in my knitting is learning a new technique. Every project I knit I choose one that teaches me something new, something with new stitches, colorwork ot technique. This past year I have learned so much doing this. It makes me so happy!
My inspiration comes from beautiful yarns. I enjoy all fiber arts and to play with colors and patterns.
I’ve been crocheting for over 20 years. I get inspired by all that f the other talented fiber artist I see/meet. I also have been using crochet as my creative outlet since I haven’t been able to get my ceramics studio set up. Basically, crocheting keeps me sane especially with a now 5 month old little boy 🤣
I enjoy seeing how different colors come together with a variety of stitches to form beautiful objects – and seeing other people when they realize that I did the work 🙂
I love it when people take a fresh look at an old technique. There’s always so much to learn!
Other people inspire me. Sometimes it’s the person for whom I’m making the item. Other times it’s seeing what others in my knitting group is doing, whether its a beautiful stitch or a certain item.
I haven’t actually been that inspired lately, and I feel kinda down about that. Lately I’ve mostly been just knitting sock gifts, but I really want to knit something for myself soon, I just don’t know what. Sometimes patterns inspire me and sometimes beautiful yarns.
Hi Chandi 🙂
I want to knit a beautiful Shaw for my daughter from one of your patterns…. They are all so gorgeous 😊
I would have to say that online videos of other people’s projects inspire my knitting and crocheting. Thank you for another generous yarn give-away! Your yarn collections are so beautiful!!!
Hi Chandi and the Team 🧶🧶 ….
I get inspired by all your gorgeous yarns and patterns, I get inspired by all y’all do for us and the generous free patterns that are designed and offered to us 💜💜🧶🧶
Thank you ALL
I am inspired to knit so often by beautiful yarn itself – I look at it and dream of what it could become. So many possibilities!
Beautiful yarn!!!
Knitting is my zen. It’s the way to relax and unwind from this crazy world we live in.
So many things inspire me when I knit or crochet, including the person I’m making for, gorgeous yarn, a challenging pattern. I’m also inspired by the feeling of calm and peace that replaces stress when I’m knitting or crocheting.
Hi Chandi! I love watching your videos!!! I love making an item that has better quality than what you may buy already made at a store. Knitting and crocheting is my meditation. Relaxed, pick up knitting needles, stressed, pick up knitting needles, etc. I love your lovely yarn, the colors and feel, oh la la.
The colorways of pinks and blues have always been favorites. They remind me of hydrangeas. Pinks and greens were my grandma’s favorite colors. I no longer have my mom and grandma with me but feel such a connection to them through my knitting, crochet and sewing. I hope you feel love and comfort in you life everyday. Thanks for your inspiration. From Tennessee.
Colour envokes a feeling / emotion and that inspires me, and guides me to what type of project to start.
I mainly knit for relaxation. I knit a lot for others and often think about them while making the project. I get inspired by patterns mainly but colour gets my attention too. I’m currently waiting for my yarn delivery for the Laguna Wrap. When I saw the pattern and yarn I knew I had to make it!
Thank you for the opportunity to enter this!
Bringing smiles to the people that I give my creations to inspire me in what I make.
Hello Chandi,
I’m a longtime knitter and currently learning to crochet. I adore the inspiration you get from nature.
Thank you Chandi for this beautiful giveaway!
I am inspired to crochet from anything and everything! Nature, colours, shapes and geometric patterns, different patterns and techniques, especially textured and lace patterns. because of the calmness and relaxation I get through it. Its such a freeing creative outlet.
Have a lovely month ahead!
I’m inspired by yarns and by seeing what others have created. I love discovering a new pattern and think about ways to make them my own.
Love your emails. I have downloaded several of your patterns and they are in my queue. Because of my huge! Yarn stash I have not ordered yarn from you yet but will in the near future. From the looks of it I would want to cast on immediately but need to finish what is on my needles first.
I get inspired by natural patterns. I love trying lacework designs and learning new techniques!
What will the completed product look like in the end? Will someone be able to enjoy it? Use it? Or both? Will I like it? All kinds of questions to be answered!! It’s inspiring!!!😊
I’m inspired by seeing other people’s projects and yarn review tutorials online. I love seeing how different yarns work up in different projects. Thank you Chandi for another generous yarn give-away! Your line of yarns is absolutely beautiful!!!
Beautiful yarn is what inspires me.
My inspiration for either fiber art sometimes starts with the pattern and other times starts with the yarn. Then, I’m off to find either the yarn that suits (to me) the pattern (and the person it is for) or, I’m looking for the perfect pattern to set off the color(s) of the yarn. EFA gives me many opportunities to explore both types of inspiration every day and I’m so grateful to have found you.
The feel and color of the yarn inspire me for sure. I don’t remember seeing a pattern and saying “Oh I have to make this.” Instead I buy the yarn and then find something to make-except for the dresses for my grandpuppies! I always use cotton yarn and try new patterns.
‘
I’m inspired by learning new techniques.
PINK?! Be still my beating heart! I’m definitely inspired by color. I also love the way yarn feels and I can spend an hour just squishing it 😉
I’m inspired by all the beautiful yarns you have been presenting us each week. Because of this I have learning about the different yarn bases and fibers in order to create the lovely patterns you have been offering us. I just wish I could knit faster. So many items I would love to make. But I sure do enjoy what I can do. Thank You for all that you do!!!
My inspiration can be a pattern, a color of yarn, or the construction and feel of the yarn – any one or all three to make an awesome garment or accessary!
I’m always inspired by other people. Might sound simplistic. But it always helps me to see the projects and colors and other people choose. It helps push me out of my comfort zone and try knitting with bold colors and trying different knitting patterns.
I find inspiration in many things but mainly in the colors around me. I read knitting books for inspiration and look at patterns but also just seeing a sewn garment that looks different can give me ideas for knitting.
Hi Chandi! I get inspired by beautiful yarn, exquisite patterns, other people showcasing their gorgeous makes, & by life itself. Crafting is a life-long passion & I find inspiration in all things. I love to look at other crafts & figure out how I can use the craft, the pattern, the size, the colors, etc. in my crafting. You are always an inspiration to me!
Beautiful patterns, scrumptious yarns get me excited. Finding out I could use certain wool’s was even better. Just something about the feel and texture as it all comes alive in your hands.
I have so many different things that I can be inspired by! If I’m making something for a new niece or nephew, I crochet something that I think would be appropriate for both my sibling and the new baby. Sometimes, I will knit hats or scarves for loved ones who need to be warmer. I try to choose colors that I know they like with a pattern that will fit their personality. Sometimes, I’m inspired by the pattern and I want to find a way to make it. Sometimes, I am crocheting or knitting something to give away to a charity. Then, the yarn inspires me as to what pattern I want to use that will make someone smile. I have a tendency to be given scrap yarns from family, so a lot of the time I will use these “scrap yarn” skeins to combine to make something to give away. SO MANY inspirations and so little time! hehe
O my what wonderful yarns love all the colors I see shawls and shawls and more shawls thank you for the chance to win some of this goodness
I get inspired by who I’m knitting for! All of my knitworthy folks are inspirational to me in one way or another: kindness, compassion, drive, resilience, empathy…
Color, patterns and family and friends inspire me to knit and crochet. Yarn is a special gift to be able to make something beautiful out of it!!!
Hi, Chandi! I get inspired by my family and special loved ones, along with colors and nature that I think will make them smile (and me, too)! Often a new stitch pattern interests me, to challenge my skills and creativity. You have some really beautiful color combinations that I find interesting. Sometimes I have a pattern in mind for them when I purchase your yarns, and sometimes I love them so much I buy them and then wait for inspiration to strike me. 😄 I would love to get into designing patterns, but I am not that skilled yet. Still practicing-I love that I can change stitches in a pattern to make it my own special version, if I like. Thank you for sharing your creativity & talents with the us!!
Hi Chandi,
I am inspired by all the beautiful colors and yarn!
Hello Chanti,
Thank you for offering us such beautiful threads… 💖
I crochet and what inspires me is the season or time of year, Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall… and also when I make a gift (a shawl for example) I think about the person I’m going to give it to, what they like, colors and texture to make a work made for them!!!
Thank you for this beautiful contest…
I started to visit your site, page by page to see everything!
Thank you and have a nice day to you and to all the knitters and crocheters of the world !!!!
I get inspired by the many possibilities that can come from knitting with wool and knitting needles! The colors seem to take on their own character and sometimes the simplest patterns result in the most satisfying projects! The colors in your wool demonstrate how we can spread a bit more beauty in this wonderful world of ours!
Hi Chandi
The inspiration for me is the colors and the feel of yarn. Blending of colors make my mind wonder of what to crochet next. I love your positive attitude! I shy away from people that are always negative. You have beautiful yarn keep up the good work.
YOU and your patterns and your yarn inspire me!
Good morning all! Lately I am inspired and enthralled with color! I love both knitting and crocheting, and am mostly based in the neutrals. But by doing your year long MKAL and MCAL I have been so inspired by both the warm and cool tones you have made. And my heart went wild with the Sumatran Tiger coolest recently released!! I just had to buy more to make a lovely cardigan just for me!!! Thanks for all your inspiration!
Peace, Chandi! Thank you for offering this giveaway. The things that inspire my knitting and crochet are: the joy of making things for family and friends, gorgeous yarns, and challenging patterns!
Colors and patterns inspire me!
I love to knit, and like to crochet. I have very recently started weaving, and would love to see some beautiful woven scarves with these yarns.
I am always inspired by beautiful patterns and gorgeous yarn!
Both knitting and crochet inspire me so much! I think how fluid and changeable crochet can be is more inspiring for things like shawls. Knitting having a fairly set structure is great inspiration for making my own cable patterns and trying new stitches!
Hi! I am inspired by the beauty of my State, Colorado, and I am in love with your progress keepers flowers! So beautiful!
I love knitting, and my inspiration comes from knowing I am creating the clothing I wear. I also sew most all my clothes, so I take pride in reducing waste and hopefully lessening human trafficking.
I wish I really knew. It can vary from project to project. It could be just a flash of inspiration from something I’ve seen or heard or maybe a dream I had. Or maybe an over heard comment sparking the imagination.
I got inspired mostly by the people who wear it. I liked to experiment switching between pattern, changing color and sometimes the person who i crochet for. Thank you for your friday free pattern, youtube video and ravelry group. I learn alot from there.
This may be a bit ‘heavy’ but it’s just the SIMPLE truth! I am blessed to receive inspiration from SO many things closely around me, and now I’m seeing….from far away. As some may know, I only have made/donated projects for those in need and have been blessed to have only used donated yarn. (A win-win-win for the yarn ‘owner’, me, and the recipient of the project!). As a former OB/NICU RN, I know first hand the need for preemie/newborn hats and blankets. My mom lives in a senior apartment, and I see first hand the need for lapghans amongst some of our elderly. When COVID hit, I honestly became silently truly scared for maybe the first time – for everyone! You see, I had to retire early due to chronic illness and now permanent disability and am immunocompromised. I know first hand what it’s like to deal with heavy health struggles; however, I became scared for so many others when COVID became the word of the day – that everyone was too familiar with. I then saw the trauma from far away in Ukraine. The nurse in me got to work. I was able to pick up the phone, and communicate online…urging for anyone to help for those in need. I have very little yarn left, and now I’m tired. I need recharged! I have always been drawn to crochet projects that have a lot of texture. I’ve admired knitted projects, but thought knitting was probably too hard for me to learn. Then I discovered Tunisian projects, and thought – that’s it! So, I bought a very nice Tunisian set of hooks!! As soon as I get EVERY box unpacked from moving across country…I am going to learn Tunisian!!! I am excited and re-energized (even though I’m exhausted!! You know what I mean!). 🤣 In a nutshell, I see that we can get inspiration from ANYTHING and EVERYTHING….near or far. Thanks for sharing the beauty of your creative spirit Chandi!! You are a gem! 💞
My love for knitting started while teacher in the village of Minto, AK. My neighbor and I would sit and knit at night. I spent many a Saturday at Inua Wool Shop feeling yarns looking for inspiration. Now I look at your patterns, yarn, and videos for ideas. Please keep the videos coming. You are amazing and a joy to watch.
Hi chandi, I really like crochet, and especially crocheting gifts for the people I love. My main inspiration comes from the material itself and from there continues the question, to whom can it fit … Thank you very much for the excellent lessons and the opportunity to win your wonderful wool
I’m inspired by the clothes I see people wear! If I love something I’ll see if I can find a similar pattern, and if I can’t I’ll try to make it up as I go.
I don’t think I could survive without my knitting and crocheting. And don’t forget my yarn hoarding.
It is fascinating to see what one can make from using yarn and a hook/knitting needles.
Love everything about knitting and crocheting – from selecting the pattern, then the yarn, prepping the yarn, starting a new project, watching it grow, finishing it and yes, even frogging.
Thank you Chandi for all that you do to inspire us.
Hello! Knitting and crocheting are my creative outlet! I can embroider, needlepoint, and other needlecraft but my true love is crocheting and knitting. Crocheting because it is only available done by hand – no machine can duplicate the work and knitting is soothing to my overactive brain and you end up with a beautiful item to wear or gift to someone. Thanks for the opportunity to win the giveaway!
I’ve always been a knitter, struggle with crochet for some reason. ButI am determined to conquer crochet and I recently purchased your lovely yarn to crochet the Corssaster shawl. Go big or go home!
Most often, the inspiration comes from the yarn, especially with high-end yarn like EFA’s. Maybe it’s a beautiful semisolid that I want to show off to best advantage, or a speckley variegated that has amazing pops of color to discover — I let the yarn speak and tell me what it wants to be! Other times, I’m inspired by a person or an image (usually from nature). It just depends on the day and the situation. 🙂
I get inspired by seeing a pattern but imagining it in my own color combinations!
Pretty yarn and interesting patterns are a great inspiration.
I love to knit AND weave with Expression Fiber Arts yarns! I can depend on them to always be dazzling!
I am inspired by all the crafty and creative people I meet, whatever the medium (yarn, clay, paint, metal etc.). Seeing what other people can create really encourages me to explore what I can create too.
I get inspiration from everything, but my grandchildren inspire me the most.
I love creating because I love being able to make my own clothes in any color or design I want, and giving those designs to loved ones as well
Hey Chandi, i love color and texture. Sometimes a pattern makes me want to create and put my own spin on a project. Thanks for the giveaway, even if I don’t win.
Hi Chandi! What beautiful patterns & yarn you offer! I use knitting as “therapy” – time to wind down and just be. I normally knit shawls & hats – which are given away, although I have knit sweaters in the past. Mostly I’m inspired by patterns – but occasionally by yarn colors. I love the feel of yarn – the varying textures. Thanks for your newsletter and the continuous inspiration!
What inspires me when I knit is the process of making something that not only will a friend love but creating. Looking at the project unfold is also so inspiring as it reminds me of the importance of being in the moment and letting things unfold.
My family and friends are my inspiration. When I find a project, I imagine who is the perfect person for it. Then I go on a hunt for the just the right yarn and colorway. My last few projects have been a combination of EFA patterns or EFA yarn.
As a crocheter, others creativity inspire me! I wish my mind worked that way!
Knitting and Crochet soothe my soul and calm my anxiety so much! I love the creative process. Seeing a new pattern and shopping for just the right yarn give me pleasure as well. To be honest I have quite the yarn stash at the present time and can shop in my craft room quite often. I always have something with me to work on and I can think of so many lovely things I would make should I win this month’s giveaway. I am always inspired by your positivity and upbeat spirit Chandi. I open all the emails from you and when I’m having a rough day I scan down to the quotes. Thank you!!!
My four girls! They are gorgeous, inside and out and I am always crocheting things for them. They wear my creations well too. So much so that every time they go out in one of ‘ Mummy’s Marvels’ there is a compliment and an inquiry about where it was from.
All the designers and bloggers who publish their patterns inspire me! They inspire me to try new stitches, play with color, and try new patterns. I’ve been knitting and crocheting for more than 50 years, yet I have never made an item of clothing. Lots of accessories (shawls, ponchos, even “jewelry”) but no tops or sweaters. Maybe this is the year!
Hi Chandi – I love learning new techniques so I try to learn one new stitch or stitch pattern with every project. I am inspired by everything and seeing brilliant pattern designs!
Hi Chandi, i m looking forward every Day for and email come from you , for new idea and the colors ,are amaising. Sorry m’y english 😘
I grew up crafting and creating things with my mom, so whenever I see beautiful things, I think “I want to make that!” (or something similar with my own spin)
I am inspired by the color of a yarn, or a beautiful pattern that I just have to make. I LOVE to knit and have started dyeing a bit on my own. I can now appreciate the process of creating the gorgeous yarn that you create so well! I hope I win some of your yarn, but even if I don’t, I will still buy some when I get a chance.
Color & texture and how they play off each other.
My mother inspired me to knit and crochet. She used to knit so fast, it was really amazing to see as a child. My children and my husband are the reasons why I knit and crochet, it’s so fulfilling to see them wear what I have made them so lovingly.
I love the feeling of making something with my own two hands :). I bought my first knitting book set in elementary school but regained love for the craft in high school and during the pandemic. Now, it’s my daily obsession and my getaway from the daily madness of life.
Knitting and crochet have given me the ability to look forward to the good of everyday. Just like finishing a WIP that may have brought us joy, there’s always another project just waiting to be started.
Hi! Right now as I am posting my “stash” I am learning to use Ravelry’s links to other people’s projects with yarn I have which is very helpful and inspirational.
Nature and my kiddos are my inspiration
I am inspired by beautiful patterns, that I can make with the highest quality natural fibers.
Your beautiful shawl patterns inspire me. I love seeing all the different ways you show that a shawl can be worn. I only wish I could knit faster. LOL
I knit because it is a relaxing (most of the time) past time. I enjoy the challenge of difficult projects as well as the simple patterns. I enjoy choosing colors and really enjoy knitting with quality yarns. I donate a lot of the items that I knit unless my four daughters run off with them!
I’m inspired by either a pattern that does something I’ve not seen before-stitching/colorwork- or gorgeous yarn that begs me to find something to make with it.
Dear Chandi,
I get inspired but the pleasure I see in people’s faces when I make something for them
I have very few things that I have made for myself!
Karen
I am inspired by the combination of texture and colors, and how a simple stitch pattern can make something gorgeous!
The colors of the yarn are the most inspiring–I’ll see a red or green and think, “I want to wear that!”
I’m inspired by a combination of things. Texture is definitely one of them. Also being able to make something customized so I can give people things that suit them totally in regard to colour, fit, size, details.
MORE YARN IS SO INSPIRING!!!
Never thought about what inspires me. I just make what I want.
Seeing all these beautiful yarns makes me want no budget limit on yarn.
I’m inspired by beautiful patterns mostly. It generally takes me a long time to finish a project, depending on how busy I am, so the pattern has to be particularly engaging and motivating.
i am inspired by the beautiful yarn and photographs (especially the nature photos that show where the color inspiration came from), but even more than that, i am inspired by the positive and uplifting messages of hope and self-care which come with every e-mail. i am always happy when i open an e-mail from chandi…puts a smile on my face every time.
My fellow knitters and crocheters have really inspired me, particularly over the past couple years (I didn’t realize there was a world of amazing podcasts until 2020). I find myself intrigued by my what others make and my list of projects has definitely grown!
My grandma is my inspiration. I have these amazing memories of her knitting me a sweater and getting a pair of mittens every Christmas. Doing the same for my family keeps the memories going.
Most of my inspiration comes from looking at all the gorgeous yarn options!
For me it’s the feel and the look of the wool that inspires me. Also the pattern that I am doing at the time.
I’m inspired by your Friday e-mails! The patterns, new yarn colors & uplifting messages. Thank you!
I get inspired to try new things from all the groups I follow and watching the amazing things being created. I also get inspiration from the expected joy the end product will bring to people.
I’m constantly inspired to knit and crochet because the yarn dyers colorways that come out are consistently beautiful, how could one not work up projects!
I’m inspired by vibrant yarn colors and intricate patterns.
What inspires me is the excitement of the person I am gifting my creation to. I rarely keep anything I’ve made. The gorgeous yarn and beautiful patterns are certainly an added bonus. 🙂
I love knitting anything, if I can use beautiful yarns. Color and texture of the yarn make each project exciting to work on. Your designs and yarn colors are exquisite. I,love what you create with them.
I love learning new things, and there’s always something new in knit and crochet! Plus making one of a kind things is so fun
My knitting and crochet are inspired by nature, my children, and my granddaughter.
As an alpaca rancher, I am excited to see that Alpaca Silk skein! I am struggling for inspiration with my crocheting lately, but have determined to practice at least once a week. Once I get some of my alpaca fiber into yarn, ,I need to be ready to use it!! : )
I knit and I crochet, but these days it’s more knitting. I’m inspired by beautiful patterns, particularly when I can learn something new in the process. I’m thankful to have this skill as it helps me to do something productive with my time rather than just sit and watch TV. It’s even more fun when the yard you’re working with is especially beautiful.
I could echo most of the previous comments……..family & friends, textures & techniques, colours & combinations, all are part of the inspirational process of my crochet addiction……my zen.
I crochet and knit, but am must faster at crochet because I learned it first. I enjoy watching your patterns and yarn selections!
New and unusual patterns inspire me. Like the Carousel socks that look so odd but fit so well.
Hi Chandi! I’m usually inspired by the yarn first, either the colors or the fiber, then I let that inspire the pattern. But lately I’ve been inspired by patterns, either new techniques or stitches. I want to try them so I search for specific patterns with them then search my yarn stash. If I can’t find a pattern I create my own!
I get excited about the color choices of the yarn that I have selected and always excited to see how the project will look when completed. Right now, I am knitting even more to relieve the sadness in my life because my youngest brother has been diagnosed with gioblastoma. The larger brain tumor has been removed to provide him some relief and hopefully 15 to 18 months of time with his family. I am heartbroken so I am knitting even more.
Color and texture! The hand feel of the yarn while working with it and watching the fabric appear in the colors – excuse me I have to go knit now just thinking about it!
I am inspired by my family and what I want to create. I love finding the perfect pattern and yarn combination. It’s a wonderful feeling seeing your project come together and knowing you made it for someone you love!
Chandi
You inspire me to try new knitting and crochet patterns and also to be a better person ! Your spunky spirit and personality are such a joy ! I look forward to your Tuesday live communication each week ! Stay true to yourself ! keep spreading sunshine and love to those around you !
I get inspired by colour and making new colour combinations
Hi Chandi, My inspiration starts with the texture of the 🧶, it has to be soft to the touch, gorgeous colors, in general I use alpaca, merino, silk and fine acrylic to make my scarves, ponchos, shawls and hats.
I just love a new challenge! So many pretty designs out there 😉
What inspires me to knit and crochet is making items for family and friends, the colors of the yarns, and learning. 😊🧶 Thank you for a chance to win your beautiful yarns and products. 😊💕🧶. Good luck everyone!!!
Hi Chandi! My inspiration comes mostly from family and friends, either by personal requests for a specific project, or by a pattern or yarn that inspires me to make something for a particular individual.
I”m inspired by a beautiful patternmost of the time. I’ll see a pretty stitch pattern and need to make it.
Chandi,
I am most inspired by seeing a smile of surprise and happiness when I gift a hand made item (usually socks). I also love pushing the envelope in my personal learning boundaries with techniques and yarn.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity; patterns, yarn, words of encouragement, all mean a smile and an uplift for the day 🙂
Chandi,
I just love the way you inspire and send out positive thoughts to the world. The color of your yarns are magnificent. I wish you have the best life you possibly can.
You are such a beautiful soul. God bless you and keep you.
Beautiful yarns & patterns
I get inspired mostly by other people’s work.
Lovely colors! Inspirational.
creating makes me happy. crocheting calms me as it keeps my hands busy.
I get inspired by looking at other’s beautiful yarn creations – patterns, colors, textures.
It’s always love. Love. Every stitch infused with love for the person I’m knitting for. The love of the pattern, yarn, color, … always love.
Patterns, challenges, requests, designing
Whomever I am crocheting of knitting for inspires me. I want to give them something that speaks to their heart.
You, Chandi. I’m inspired by your love of life and all things. Please don’t ever change.
Hello Chandi,
I m inspired by learning new knitting techniques. There are so many to learn. It is truly amazing. I am inspired by the process of creating a new item and the completion. If feels so good to know I have made a scarf or a blanket, etc. with my own hands
Chandi,
I am inspired to knit and crochet by patterns and finished projects I see. I love to challenge myself by learning new techniques. I have recently revisited crochet and am loving it. I still enjoy my knitting but it’s good for me to have some different projects going to avoid getting stuck. I enjoy your beautiful yarns and the amazing patterns you share.
My crocheting is inspired by the look on peoples faces when i give them the finished product.
For me many things inspire me, the calm it brings within, designs and colours. Most definitely it is also yarn. I imagine certain colours and types of yarn can make a design more beautiful and I tend to pick those colours. When I make the piece. It turns out just as I expect or sometimes even better. So the process also inspires me to crochet.
My friends and family are inspiring me these days. So many new babies to knit for! 😍
I am relearning to knit and crochet after about 40 years. Life has finally given me a chance and several different needlework groups to encourage me to create for family, friends, church and charity. Yarns and colors inspire me to create for the different needs. They allow for a productive way to relax.
Hi Chandi !
Just the mere Feel of the fiber ~ as I first hand wind to introduce myself to the yarn, to when the yarn passes through my fingers while knitting , crocheting, , I am truly, serenely enthralled.
I become a Match maker – perfect pattern for that yarn. Then reap the rewards of that perfect union ( ^ ; * )
All the best to you, always,
marcia
Inspiration in knitting for me is seeing beautiful new yarn colors, when the yarn is delivered there is something about seeing the colors and holding a new hank of beautifully wound yarn in my hands excited to start a new project plus I find knitting very meditative and calming. I’m also inspired to try something new as I’ve been knitting most of my life but after seeing all the beautiful yarns and patterns on EFA I’d like to learn how to crochet more than just a throw but to actually learn how to crochet a sweater inspires me! 🌸
Hi Chandi. What inspires me in my knitting is soft, beautiful yarn. As soon as I acquire new yarn those creative juices start flowing and I can’t wait to get started on my next project.
I’m inspired by a really pretty pattern. The skill someone had to not only dream it up, but get it onto paper to share with the world is inspiring. If the pattern is challenging, but not daunting, I’m in!
I echo those who have said “You!” But I am also inspired by the fact that each day I am privileged to awake and pick up my hooks or needles and recreate someone’s beautiful original creation. This brings me immeasurable joy and peace.
I’m most inspired when I think about a new gift idea. I love making things for other people!
I am inspired to knit by my family and all the beautiful colors of yarns. Wishing you well.
I’m inspired by yummy squishy yarn. I find myself shopping stores (or my home store AKA my staaaaash) when something will jump out at me screaming “MAKE ME INTO SOMETHING!” and off I go on a glorious adventure!
I have trouble finding inspiration. No one appreciates what I knit or crochet, and it feels selfish to take all that time for myself. Also, my sock drawer is overflowing.
Hi Chandi! Thank you for this generous, beautiful, and awesome giveaway! Thank you also for the chance and all you do for this community! My inspiration to crochet (and now wanting to learn to knit) comes from my childhood and watching my late maternal grandmother knit and crochet. I wish that I had her to teach me, but when I was a kid I thought it was something old people did and not something that you had to learn to do. Otherwise, I would’ve happily asked her to help me learn how to crochet and knit. Good luck to everyone! Have a wonderful day!
As someone who came to knitting late in life, I find I’m most inspired by the beautiful yarns I’ve been so lucky to find. And there are two things make me most happy in my knitting life: (i) seeing the joy on the faces of my family and friends when they first see their knitted gifts from me; and (ii) being able to see real progress in my knitting journey. It’s been great!
Unfortunately I scroll Pinterest way too much, but I am so inspired by all the things others make!! Now I look for challenging projects to continue to hone my crochet skills, and also save knitting patterns, since I am planning to learn to knit this fall as soon as my PhD is done!!
I love your beautiful yarns and patterns! Right now I’m inspired by a massive baby explosion around me. I’ve already made baby afghans for one friend who’s expecting her first grandson, another who is expecting twin girls, and now I have 2 nieces that are both expecting boys!
For me the best inspiration are animals and nature 🙂
Hi Chandi! Thanks for another fabulous giveaway! I get inspired by the pattern & yarn I’m using! I love knitting for family, friends & charity!🥰Good luck everyone & please stay safe!♥️
I’m inspired by the beautiful patterns and gorgeous colors. Also just the joy of creating inspires me to keep making more projects.
Beautiful yarns are what inspire me to knit! Just gotta let that stuff slide through my fingers and onto my needles!
Thank you for hosting another giveaway! The colours are lovely! I get my inspiration from my grandmother. Although she is no longer with us and I didn’t know how to knit when she was around (one of my regrets) I find myself thinking of her every time I have needles in my hand. She would knit a lot for her grandchildren and all the knowledge was in her mind. It was amazing. I have pieces of paper all over of pattern instructions and also can access YouTube for assistance but for her, she memorized so many patterns and would knit so many different things. In addition to knitting she had so many talents and is one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met.
Events inspire my knitting – like the upcoming birth of a baby – need to knit a blanket!
I find my inspiration for knitting in all of the YouTube videos I watch. So many talented knitters making up the most beautiful items. Thank so much for the opportunity to win this fabulous yarn haul. You are truly an inspiration!
I am inspired by the opportunity to work with beautiful colors and fibers while exploring interesting stitch patterns to make items not readily found in stores.
I was inspired to learn to knit, late last year by my need for socks and to actually have socks that fit. I wear women’s size 5 US and/or size 13 US children’s, it’s hard enough to find shoes that fit, and almost impossible to get socks that fit. I am still practicing my knitting and trying to learn new techniques. My current stash consists of a bunch of unknown Acrylic yarn and some sock yarn that I bought (that I’m saving for when I’m more comfortable in my ability) with 2 circular needles. Would love to win some of your beautiful yarn.
Hi Candi, I mostly get inspired by colors, but that can come from anywhere.
I get really inspired by lucious beautiful yarns, and watching close ups of actual knitting and crochet tutorials. Just watching the actual act is soothing and makes me want to pick up my needles or hook.
I get inspired by the confluence of finding an attractive pattern, usually on-line, and a suitable skein of yarn, on a website such as yours, or in my Ravelry library. So, I get inspired often…
I’m inspired by seeing all the awesome thing people are making with all the beautiful yarns that are out there! It makes me want to make those things too! Thank you Chandi!
Hi! Thanks for this opportunity! Colours inspire me! But mostly seeing other peoples’ projects do. I love seeing what incredible creations are coming off everyone’s needles!
I love to crochet and a little crochet each day helps to relieve the day’s stress. 🙂
I’m inspired by the beautiful yarn and patterns, and the satisfaction and accomplishment I get when I’m able to turn a skein of yarn into a piece of usable/ wearable piece of art.
Thank you for being part of the inspiration! Do keep your wonderful work going!
Beautiful yarns and great patterns are my inspiration
I am inspired by beautiful colors and textures of yarn and practical knit I can wear or see my lived ones wear!
I love the movement. Doing something with my hands and making something at the same time feels good. I also love the colors and seeing them take shape!
Such beautiful colors and yarns. Congrats to whomever the lucky winner is. My inspiration comes from seeing patterns that really interest me. The color of the yarn is usually what catches my eye first.
I am a knitter who always has many projects going on at the same time. I am inspired by what other knitters do. By beautiful yarn and by what would please the people around me to receive. I have always loved your yarn! Thanks for theses generous give away.
Lace patterns inspire me. Looking at intricate stitches and lovely yarn start the juices flowing
All the pretty patterns <3
I love any project that lends itself to lots of color! Blankets are my favorite thing to knit right now. This month’s colors of yarn are wonderful–thanks for the opportunity to win.
Sometimes I wish I could knit/crochet faster, but then I realize I actually just enjoy the feel and color of the yarn and watching the project grow. Learning new techniques/stitches is also a bonus.
What inspires me with knitting.? There are no permanent mistakes! Wrong stitch- you can fix it; too small – you can fix it; too large – fix it; not your color – gift it; wrong yarn – there’s a pattern out there that it’s the right yarn for! You never get bored – there’s a new pattern out there every day, a new yarn, a new color even new needles. Knitting is something you can dive into at most any age. Knitters come in all shapes, sizes, ages, cultures, temperaments. I can learn from knitters who have been around a while as well as fresh new faces. And with all of this wonderment to rejoice in, as a group, knitters love to share the experience with other knitters. So much good in one craft. Yay!
I get inspired by pretty yarns or what my family would enjoy. Thank you for yet another generous and beautiful giveaway!
The way my husbands grandma always was so excited to get a new knitted or crocheted item at christmas
I am inspired by the yarn itself. When I get yarn, I try to figure out what it wants to be and go from there. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries to get the right pattern for the yarn so that the colors work well.
Hello! I am always so inspired by the experience and guidance of other knitters!! The sharing and community spirit adds so much delight and motivation to the knitting journey. Thank you, Chandi and all of our knitting friends here!
Hi Chandi! Your beautiful yarns and patterns inspire me to stretch beyond my limited knowledge, and create beautiful things. Also, gaining experience in knitting has helped me to be brave enough to knit hats for a group called Hats for Sailors. This group provides hand knit and crochet hats for sailors to wear while out on the open sea – where it can get quite chilly. Last year, people from all over contributed 8,341 hats for everyone aboard a super carrier, and a few other smaller ships. So I try to knit a hat or two in between working on something like the Saiki shawl, which is on my needles now.
Learning new techniques inspires me. The seasons/nature do as well.
I get inspired by patterns mostly, but sometimes it’s the yarn that screams BUY ME and I then need to find something that goes with that yarn.
I get inspired by seeing other peoples projects! 😊💛
I’m inspired by beautiful yarns.
Chandi, dear, I’m inspired by interesting patterns – several of which I’ve adapted for projects other than the one featured in the pattern. I’m starting to knit, just as a change-off from crocheting, and it’s slow going. But let me see a skein of yarn and I can “see” something to make with it, for for whom to make it.
I love to crochet and have done so for 50+ years. I am now starting to teach myself to knit. You are an inspiration to me because of the beautiful patterns and yarns you offer to us. Thank you so much.
First, Chandi, thank you for your beautiful site & sweet emails! I love your positivity, your sweet self & your obvious love & passion for all things creative & yarn-y! I’m inspired by friends, yarns & cool new patterns. Just seeing the yarns & colors you come up with makes me salivate & want to buy/make everything!!!
I’m inspired by the beauty of nature, whether it is color, pattern, or just the awe-inspiring beauty. I find your yarns/colors give me that same feeling of inspiration, and I look for lovely patterns that mirror nature and that are challenging enough to take me out of my comfort zone so that I can continue to learn and grow even at the ripe old age of 70. Thank you for who you are and all that you do.
I’ve been inspired by a niece and her tattoo of a ball of yarn and knitting needles. She creates beautiful works of art and has taught me to approach new patterns with curiosity rather than fear. Always ready to learn!
I am inspired by gorgeous fibers and colors. I can never have enough yarn or threads and linento do my stitching. Thank you for all of the gorgeous yarns and patterns that you offer.
I am inspired by the projects! I can’t wait to make things I genuinely love. While knitting is my favorite, I taught myself to crochet a little bit to make my boys some stuffed animals (stuffies in our house).
Hi Chandi,
For me, it’s pattern, colors, texture & feel of the yarn. I love to crochet.
I’m inspired by color combos and pattern browsing. Sometimes the yarn inspires the pattern and project. Sometimes the pattern/project inspires me to buy yarn for it. ^_^
Hi Chandi
I am inspired by patterns, I an new and still learning so we see patterns I like that inspires me to learn more skills to make it
Colors and textures inspire me, in nature, in art, in other textiles, just about anywhere. I love to translate these into my knitting and crochet.
In a bit of a knitting funk…..haven’t picked up my needles in weeks. These yarns are BEAUTIFUL tho
Hi Chandi!
Beautiful sunny colours this month!
I’m inspired by a love of learning. I enjoy going back to revisit my early projects, marvelling at the knowledge, techniques, and skills that I am continuing to hone each time I pick up my needles. I clearly remember the first time I was able to kitchener up a toe, without needing to refer back to your video (for the millionth time haha). That was a proud moment for me.
I’ve been working on the Perseverance KAL, and I’ve found that my favorite part is always swatching, which I sometimes find to be a bore. My excitement grows as each new stitch pattern reveals itself. I find myself guessing at what will come next or how that next row will shape the pattern, and that attentiveness has really grown my understanding of how YO’s, decreases, and the other stitches work together. It’s been a fun ride this far.
My son and I recently went shopping for summer clothes. The sale racks were full of cozy winter sweaters and lighter knit pullovers for spring. He told me “I bet you could make any of those”. Given enough time and yarn, I bet I could too. The “next challenge” is a strong motivator for me, and I find that each journey seems to inspire the next.
New yarns, dye patterns and color combinations are what inspire me 🙂
Hi Chandi, your positive and supportive comments, beautiful patterns, and colorful yarns inspire me. Thank you!
What inspires me is that what I make is going to someone! Whether it’s donated or gifted, someone is wearing something that I made. I’m also hoping that I will inspire my granddaughters to be crafty.
My Mother, and her’s before her, we’re both crocheting peoples. Though they never taught me, (my mom threw a book at me and said to teach myself) I did have help from my best friend. Her and I are addicted. I tend to choose the more textured patterns and show her how to do it. But she really is the one who taught me to crochet. I Love the feel of the yarn, the warmth and softness. I Love the warmth I get in my heart while I make a project, knowing that the person I’m making it for is getting a one of a kind gift as I could never make two exactly alike. And sometimes I get sad when the gift is given to someone who doesn’t comprehend the time, Love and effort put into the gift. But I know. I’ve made countless things and have yet to keep one. I do many other crafts as well but haven’t gotten the swing of knitting yet. But it’s so very Beautiful.
I’m inspired by gorgeous yarns and the anticipation of the reactions from the recipients of items I make.
What inspires me really depends. Sometimes it is a particular yarn, sometimes it is a project someone else has done, sometimes it’s a particular item I would like to have, sometimes it’s a mood or season, and sometimes it’s a yarn or pattern that will be perfect for someone I love.
Hi Chandi, I just love seeing your posts i have been following you and your knitting for many years I love both your yarn and your patterns. Your attitude comes across in your posts as very upbeat and possitive which is nice to see. Thank you for all you do.
I’m always inspired to make something the second I touch a soft, squishy yarn! I put it to my neck, and I instantly want to make a cowl, or scarf…..or anything that I can wrap up in the softness!
Hi Chandi,
What brings me joy when I crochet or knit is that I am making something beautiful that will bring joy to someone while it relaxes me to create it. It is a true joy to create things.
Pretty yarn inspires me to knit and crochet! I’m also drawn to extra squishy and shiny yarn.
Many of my friends knit and/or crochet. I often find their work inspiring.
Hi Chandi, I love anything that starts and ends with yarn. I enjoy doing and presenting items made out of yarns to my loved ones. The June giveaway is classic and sumptious yarn!
I love and look forward to your lovely emails as they are filled with positive and motivational thoughts straight from your heart. Thanks for the kind words.
My inspiration comes from listening to fiber podcasters talk about their yarn hauls or items they have made. The smile on their faces and their voice has the pride they feel. To see and hear them just makes me happy and all the while I’m crocheting/knitting I’m smiling too. All kind of ideas float through my brain. What do I make next, what color, what yarn. Lol
Nature, architecture, painting, quilting, and origami are all big sources of inspiration for me. I also find all sorts of ideas when I study isolated details in photographs.
I’m inspired by beautiful yarns and also by other people’s projects.
Hi Chandi, I get inspired by beautiful yarn and who I’m making things for. I’m lucky enough to have friends who appreciate my hand made items so it’s fun to create things that fit them.
I’m inspired by beautiful yarns and simple stitches used in unique ways.
The yarn usually inspires me. 🙂
I’m inspired by my mood. I know it’s tacky, but crocheting (and creating in general) is a sort of coping mechanism for me, that pushes me out from the downs, and accompanies me in the ups.
Hi Chandi, watching people like you knit inspires me to expand my abilities and try new projects.
Often I’m inspired by seeing a new pattern and reading its story. And usually that comes through your emails 😆
I get inspired by my children, I always look for something they will wear, or play with. And then I have a hard time choosing from the huge amount of beautiful patterns that I have saved 🙂
I’m inspired by all the possibilities of what I can do with yarn!
Hi Chandi! I get inspiration for my knitting from some of the strangest places sometimes! Sometimes I see something in nature or a movie or maybe just something I read in a book and I imagine trying to capture that pattern in yarn. For instance I once made a sweater trying to capture the image that it was made from dragon hide which I got the idea from a book I was reading. Sometimes it is the color or texture of the yarn. More often than I care to admit I have seen yarn that was just so beautiful I had to have some with no idea of what I would do with it so it sits in my stash until I think of just the right project.
Every time I look at yarn on your site I am inspired! I know how delicious it is to touch, work with, wear and wrap one’s self up in. I am semi-retired and can’t spend as much on yarn as I used to but I can dream 😉
It’s not so much inspiration for me, more an addiction. I get a little twitchy if I don’t get a little knitting done every single day.
Beautiful colourways as always! The beautiful patterns available inspire my knitting.
Bonjours Chandi,
Mon inspiration me viens de la laine elle même, les couleurs sa texture , je suis nouvelles au monde du crochet et du tricot, j’adore tes video YouTube merci, de partager d’aussi beau video, et merci pour toi, beautiful soul.
I love to knit and crochet useful things! Beautiful and useful!
Seeing what other people create and their choices for pattern, yarn, colour. The creativity of others is truly inspiring!
My inspiration comes from all the colors around me. I always wish I had more money so I could buy all of the yarn on your website.
Hi, Chandi! You’s marvelous yarns always inspire.
My inspiration is like a three legged stool. I see yarn…which reminds me of a person or feels like an specific object waiting to be worked up….but those objects are generally with specific people in mind. I often buy yarn just cause I find it beautiful. But inspiration may not hit until I see several skeins together that feel like a specific person. Or I may see a project that looks like a person…then I have to find the right yarn. But in general, it’s when the three legs of the stool meet up that I am inspired take a seat and start a project.
I get inspired by the color and texture of really great yarn, or an amazing pattern.
I’m inspired by natures colours and shapes.
Beautiful patterns are what inspires me. Well, gorgeous yarn is a pretty good inspiration too. Thank you for what you do for this community.
I’m inspired by knits I see in movies and television shows. I love figuring out how to duplicate my favorites.
Hello from Japan, Chandi!
I love your videos and look forward to Fridays thanks to you!
I am inspired by dynamic designs, beautiful yarns and textures, and music.
To me the perfect knit item carries with it some music. A shawl might be a Baroque chamber music, or very alluring jazz, maybe even upbeat pop music.
A poncho might be some Gypsy Kings or Gontiti.
A blanket could be a lullaby or a Gregorian chant!
I am always listening to e-books and music as I knit and crochet. I also knit under the camera on long video calls!
As always beauitful yarn. Love these colors
Sometimes I am inspired to knit a particular pattern, sometimes the yarn just screams “knit me!!” and usually it will be a pair of socks. Sometimes I just want to try a pattern and will make a dish cloth.
I’m always inspired by the recipient of whatever I’m making. I want to be sure I’m giving them a gift they’ll love and that expresses my appreciation of having them in my life.
You have such lovely yarns and patterns. My knitting inspiration is so random — sometimes it’s a pattern, sometimes it’s a yarn, sometimes it’s a photo I see or a person I meet!
I am inspired by color and patterns especially with new techniques.
Hi Chandi,
this month’s giveaway has such a colourful array of wool. Very pretty 🙂
I usually get inspired by finished pieces or I fall in love with a certain wool and just go on the hunt for the perfect pattern for it.
Lately I haven’t crocheted or knitted anything. I’ve been in a funk and haven’t been up to doing anything. But, I think that is finally over. I have just started to crochet a blanket for my daughter. Well, actually I just started to crochet a blanket and my daughter is claiming it before it is finished. I’m already thinking about what my next project should be. Since it get to hot here in Texas in the summer maybe something small like a hat and/or scarf.
What inspired me to crochet is to see yarn come to life from crocheting with it. It just amazes me how yarn came become something that we wear or use. I love crocheting things for friends and family. I had older friends who were in nursing homes and I made sure that each of them had a Lap Blanket and this was my way of letting them know that they were though of.
I love your patterns and yarn so keep them coming.
I get inspired by others on social media, also by my yarn stash 😀
Hi Chandi! I get inspired by the people I want to make things for, by beautiful patterns I see, by beautiful yarn I see! I crochet, and will learn to knit someday! 🙂 Thanks for all you do, Expression Fiber Arts is one of my favorite things!!
wonderful colors …..they would make so many projects special
Hi Chandi! My inspiration comes from seeing beautiful yarns, lovely patterns, and the gorgeous work of other needle crafters. Love your yarns (they may bankrupt me if I’m not careful!) and your videos. You are so creative and positive. Especially enjoy your funny outtakes 🙂
I love finding new ways of constructing things – hats, shawls, etc. Love beading shawls! And making things for my family – kids, grandkids, etc. That gets me excited! Loving the year long blanket patterns! Now working on 2, one for my daughter and one for me, the knit version. Thank you!
HI Chandi!
I’m a crocheter at heart, but am trying to branch into knitting. I love receiving a new pattern each Friday! I really love that at the end of the week no mater how crazy it was, I get a new dazzling design to add to my collection! I absolutely love making gifts for friends and family with my work. I always feel so fulfilled and happy when they wear what I’ve put time into. I am just finishing up a shawl for my boyfriend’s mother. It’s the first one of your patterns that I’ve made. and I can’t wait to give it to her. I used a transition of purples, pinks, and greys to make your beautiful SugarBlush Shawl. I’m always inspired by your yarns and patterns! And now watching your videos has inspired me to learn to spin yarn as well! Thank you so much for adding this little bit of sunshine to my life!
Hello ! I don’t believe I have *any* color coordination when it comes to yarn. Thus the patterns inspire me to mimic. Thank you for your creativity!
Hiya Chandi! I get inspired by just about everything in different ways. It can be a piece of music, or the way the light hits something just right. Hearing a baby laugh, or seeing my dogs wrestle on the floor for a toy, usually it’s happy things, but it can be sad things too. Usually always something that evokes emotion. My imagination is always turning over ideas too. My brain rarely shuts off, even when I’m sleeping, I’ve always been a vivid dreamer, I even now remember some I had as a small child, lol. I hope that answered your question, though my dad says that when I talk he doesn’t always understand what I’m saying, lol. Have a Wonderful day and thank you for the gorgeous giveaway!!
Oh Chandi, you know what inspires… it is the YARN! 🙂 who picks a prokect ans then goes yarn shopping? No no no….. the fiber is queen spider, we just spin and loop and tie and weave the threads.
I find knitting most often through the yarns made up from independent dyers. Their stunning, unique wares lend themselves to a huge variety of knitting patterns and luxurious combinations. Especially when I get to mix and match for something I have in mind! It’s exciting and meditative all at once.
Crochet is my jam! When our eldest daughter called to tell us she was expecting and she was naming her little girl Bea, I knew I had to have a beehive mobile for her crib. So I ordered this most beautiful mobile from Amazon for $5 only! It arrives and turns out to be a crochet pattern. I had no idea how to crochet or what it was. So I told myself I would learn. It been 3 years now. I guess I better pull the mobile pattern out and figure that pattern out.
I get inspired by making items for others. I love to donate handmade items to charities of all types. It brings my heart so much happiness and peace when I think that somewhere a person has received an item that I made and it has brought him/her a bit of happiness. I just want people to know that even though I may not know you, I care about what you’re going through. The same goes for animals. Even though they may not understand, I care about them.
I get inspired by nature and music. I love looking at the surroundings from nature and the randomness of the colors. I enjoy listening to music as I knit and marvel at the creation that is coming to life before me on the needles. What a beautiful interplay.
A pattern is, usually, my first inspiration.
I see one I love and imagine the color possibilities.
I’m inspired by color. Recently moved from Arizona to Florida. Moving from cacti to flowers and grass is beyond the senses.
I’ve gone beyond crochet to weaving. I am able to use all different thicknesses of yarns and other materials to make cloth for garments.
Color and beautiful patterns are what drive my knitting. I find such joy and happiness in the variety of colors and the soothing feel of the soft yarns.
Inspiration comes to me through seeing other’s creations and projects. I am a visual learner, so seeing yarns in finished projects is essential to my creative spirit. Thanks for always showcasing your yarn in finished items. It inspires me to create my own.
Color and texture inspire me in my knitting projects. Your yarns are so yummy and nice to work with.
Seeing other people’s projects can inspire me to try something new.
I’m just starting my knitting journey. So I’m am just learning but I am so inspired by all the beautiful colors and patterns that I see. Also seeing the work of others inspires me.
Hi Candi, my inspirations come from Mother Nature. I take what I see when in the outdoors and look for yarns in those colors. I also get my inspirations from different things such as tv, patterns in material, clothing, art books etc.
the idea of making cool new projects really inspire me! I love making gifts for others and for myself! I am also so inspired to see other people’s work.
I find that crocheting relaxes me and calms my mind. I am the caregiver of my 85yr old mom and that sometimes is stressful
Crocheting relaxes me.
I am inspired in my knitting by the creation process. Each time I sit down to knit the project grows and changes.
Color and a pattern the screams “KNIT ME! … and add some beads please.”
Beautiful yarn collection! I get inspired by other designers. I love that I can create something to wear from a single strand of yarn.
Inspiration for me had been difficult to find over these past years. Starting with an accident that left me disabled. The loss of my 21-year-old grandson in a rollover accident. His mother, my oldest who had been ill for so many years followed him 9 1/2 months later. My Man of 12 years followed six months after my daughter. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer. To say I was broken would be an understatement.
During my recovery I had two kittens that needed fostered brought to me. Socks and Tiny kept me busy. But I needed more… Then I received a package in the mail. My sister had knitted a beautiful shawl for me. As I looked at the detail…I wanted to be able to make something as beautiful. I started watching YouTube. It was there I found Chandi…. She is a ray of sunshine. A healing light. I have learned so much from her. I was obsessed… The patterns, yarns and colors!!!
I am inspired once again!! I wake up, enjoy prayer time. Take my morning coffee. Work on beautiful quality projects for my family. Play with fur babies. I do have to buy Inexpensive yarn for the cats to play with. Lol
I apologize if this was a bit long.
I am inspired to knit some of the beautiful patterns when looking on the internet and at your own amazing site but it’s so hard to decide which.
Beautiful colors and vogue knitting magazines
The colors this month are amazing!
All sorts of things inspire me. I make quite a bit of amigurumi that’s connected to the fanfiction I write. Other times it’s a stitch pattern (like for a blanket) or fit of a garment.
I am inspired by all the gorgeous yarns out there and the talented dyers who create such wonderful colorways.
Chandi — I am definitely inspired by you and your wonderful yarns. The way you interpret the photos, upon which you base the hues of the yarns, is truly amazing. It has reminded me of the beauty all around me, wether in nature or in town. There is wonder in the smallest things we see. We only need to open our heart-vision to see it. The possibility to win such a sumptuous prize is thrilling, to say the least. Thank you for your generosity in making this possible to one of your loyal followers. Best of luck to all of us. Thank you, also, for making it possible for those of us who live outside the U.S. to participate. <3
Hi Chandi! Thank you for another chance at a great give away win. I learned to crochet at an early age but never got inspired until I had kids. I loved making things for them; toys, blankets, clothing, and winter accessories.
Knitting is another story. After being diagnosed with PTSD while on/from the job, I was declared unfit to continue and considered “disabled” and forced to take an early disability retirement. Long story short, I taught myself to knit during that first year and now I am inspired every day by what I can do with color and yarn. It’s beautiful! I love it. I knit everyday (and still some crochet too). I have many knit worthy people in my circle which works out well because their encouragement inspires me to continue making lovely gifts!
Chandi, I love to crochet! I am inspired when I see the beautiful work that others do. Also yarn inspires me!
Colors and the way they interplay with the textures of yarns and stitches are great inspirations for me.
I don’t know if a specific thing inspires me to crochet, it might be a combination of things, but I do have a person. My nana loved to watch me crochet as I was taking care of her so now when I do it I always think of her.
My inspiration usually comes from other patterns which I will either tweak or if I’m really comfortable with what I’m making I will take pieces from multiple patterns and make my own. 😊 I love knitting!!!
I am inspired by great yarn and challenging patterns, whether it be crochet, thread embroidery painting and other crafts that are different.
I love watching the colors emerge that you didn’t see in the skein and the pattern form as you work through the pattern!
I get inspired by the different colors of yarn. I love color changing yarn especially when making shawls.
I knit or crochet everyday. Watching TV, I’m knitting or crocheting. My hands need to be moving when listening to an audio book or music. My husband tries to talk when I’m counting stitches, so I count louder and he understands and stops, but not without laughing or shaking his head. My family understands it is a part of me and tries to accommodate my hobby by buying me yarn or gift cards to yarn shops. I have made them all blankets and other gifts and many gifts for strangers. My grandson expects to walk in the house one day and find everything covered in knitting or crochet. It just might happen.
What inspires me in my crochet is the beautiful color play that creates a beautiful piece. You Chandi have shown how the world around us can give us these fabulous color combinations and how they are all around us to see and feel. I’m also inspired by my simple love and joy with crochet. It’s such a relaxing and comforting art.
What inspires me is knitting. I love challenging myself, and using beautiful yarn is the gift I give myself as I make something beautiful for my girls.
i’ve come on your site from my email or outrite; an just want to touch all the yarn. when i’ve ordered i hadn’t known that some is meant for making bags or hats, others are meant for projects like cocoon, sweaters, vests, shawls, still the tweed yarns i’d not seen much done with the tweed yarn. not long after i had the resilent Epicenter yarn i made wrist warmers in pieces of eight pattern, which probably was not the right project for this yarn. it was gorgeous! i’d love to win but i’d love to see what others have made with your product! is there a blog/connection i can access to look at others projects? i’ve looked on ravelry. but the filter isn’t really showing all the only EFA Yarn items made. SSOO? i’d really not ask for anything less than what you produce because your yarns are awesome! brioche knitting with your product is scrump til ousious!
My knitting always inspires me to see how a single thread can be made into a garment or stuffed toy. The journey of how this single lonely thread is worked creating beautiful patterns and feelings as we continue working.
I get inspired by a lot of things– patterns, instagram pictures of things my friends have made, yarn, combinations of all those things. And the excitement of matching a yarn to a pattern and seeing what happens
I get inspired by new things to learn
Knitspiration? Often a single skein that coordinates with several other colours, or cool construction and how I’d make a design work for me.
I’m inspired by pure love of knitting! It’s fun to challenge myself!
Hi guys!
Inspiration usually comes from the pattern itself. Does it have a technique I’ve never done, or a stitch pattern that I’ve never seen? Sometimes it’s just the satisfaction that comes with wearing or gifting the item.
Nature, seeing the patterns in plants, inspires me in knitting.
As I am a beginner crocheter my inspiration comes from the people I watch on YouTube and the items that they make and do tutorials for. As I get more comfortable with crocheting I am more willing to try more difficult patterns. A lot of people seem to be doing gnomes right now, so that is going to be my next project. I am currently working on a shawl and a Japanese Knot Bag.
I’m inspired by all the beautiful patterns from around the world, whether it is cables, fair isle, mosaic, Latvian, and so on. It is amazing what you can create with some yarn and 2 sticks!
I’m inspired by nature, so many beautiful color palettes to choose from out in the big beautiful world!
Always inspired by the colors in nature, & the patterns found in nature. Thank you for your inspiration, too!
I am inspired by beautiful yarns and interesting patterns.
Crocheting is my addiction 🙂 my hands just need to follow pattern, yarn calls me everyday to slide on my hooks 🙂 now I bought set of needles to begin knitting adventure as your projects are so beautiful
I get inspired when I see the reaction on the face of yhe person receiving what I made especially for them.
Inspired by the seasons; captivated by colors; tantalized by textures!
I’m inspired by many things, I listen to see if there’s a need, I always look for that pattern I want to do over and over, and color to enhance that pattern.
Chandi-Thank you for the many inspirations you and your team of designers, dyers, and support people have supplied for EFA-It’s why I’ve stayed a faithful patron for almost 10 years now. ❤️
The colors of the yarns inspire me, love the stitch markers! Normally I knit or crochet gifts, so their choice color. Thanks for free pattern Fridays, chance to win the gorgeous yarn!
I’m usually inpired by the yarn and what it looks like it wants to be. Sometimes I’m looking for yarn to fit a pattern fotr something I want like the ruana I’m working on. And sometimes it’s a particular skill I want to learn – cables, entralac, etc.
My grandmother inspired me to learn crochet. I find it meditative—it calms my anxiety.
I get inspired by many you tubers that I follow for Knitting and Crochet, including you. And I also get inspired by the things around me. I am always looking for color combinations inspirations everywhere I go.
I am inspired by all the wonderful patterns you share and the quality of your yarn. Every project turns out beautifully.
I get inspired mainly by need. I used to only make for my family and would be inspired by what they would ask for. Now I get inspired by what I need as I have realized that mom’s need nice things too. Since my children are now drowning in hats, almost quite literally, I mainly make them for children’s hospital. All the appliqués on the hats are inspired by something that would/could make a child happy when they wear it.
I’m inspired by beautiful patterns and beautiful yarn. Thanks for making both available!
I get inspired by all of the new patterns I discover over the years, either by books or youtube and by seeing what other people are creating.
I’m inspired by the new patterns that I see , or the what I feel would be appreciated by someone in need of a hug!
Hi Chandi! My inspirations for knitting and crocheting are my 6 grandbabies! Two girls and 4 boys! Texture and color of the yarns I choose let me capture each one of the children’s personalities. Each a different type..loud and boisterous, soft and shy, independent and outgoing, they all make my choices with thoughtfulness and love.
I love knitting because it helps me in reliving my stress and makes me happy and fresh. Away from all my troubles.
Crocheting or knitting gifts to bring joy bubbles to people for no other reason but because they are special and loved; this inspires me to learn new stitches and try yarn that I’ve never used before. I love seeing their expressions of gratitude and unbelief that they get a gift for no other reason then -Just Because❣️🦋❣️
I’m often inspired by plants, trees … nature in general for my crochet projects & expecially my choices in yarn
I get inspired by colors, your videos, needs that arise from every day life and quolitative yarns. Thank you!!
Hi Chandi! I am inspired by you and other crochet instructors. Thank you for your youtoube videos. They are very inspiring.

Hi Chandi!
I am inspired by the beautiful colors of yarn. My favorites are blues and then neutrals. I also like to think about the looks on loved ones faces when they receive their gifts
My inspiration for starting to knit(many moons ago) was my Mother. She was gifted in doing all things knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, at times. She departed this life 13 years ago, but her love of yarn continues in mine and she is the knitting voice in my head.
That’s not an easy answer. First it’s the weather. Yes, I find the weather very inspiring to what I make. The feel and smell of the wool might guide me in another direction then I originally planned. The color pallets can get me down right “giddy”. Then there’s my mood 🙂 Sometimes I get knitter/crochet block and times……. We’ll sleep is optional.
I love fiber arts! I feel connected to my family present and past when planning, working or finishing a project. The opportunity to try new fibers or techniques, play with color options, seeing new patterns all inspire me. I’m sure there’s more, but I can’t put them to words
I am inspired by the type of yarn I knit with. I cannot knit with any yarn also the challenges that some patterns come with. I find it relaxing. 🙂
Inspiration comes from everywhere! Seeing people wearing cute clothes, a beautiful pattern, the perfect color yarn, the perfect texture yarn…
I’m inspired by all the beautiful yarn, the different colors, and patterns.
I’m inspired by nature and by other crafts like ceramics or carving.
Inspiration comes in many forms and varies day to day. Currently I’m inspired to crochet a shawl to match a recent purchase of the most spectacular red shoes! The Noel pattern is on cue!
Sometimes it’s the yarn that inspires the hunt for the perfect pattern. Sometimes it’s a pattern that I have to fine yarn for and make right away. And sometimes it’s something I see in a shop, or on a show, and think “I could make that”.
Hello Chandi, you and your designers inspire me a lot. Thanks for all the good vibes you send us…my days are a lot brighter.
I am inspired by colors, textures, seasons changing, something I’ve seen, someone I love, and so much more.
I’m inspired by my kids. My girls are much better than I am, but they inspire me to keep creating.
Hello Chandi I am so inspired by intricate and lacey designs! Making items for our 15 grand children, our children and spouses! So many happy smiles on these faces and full of surprise too! Also making for charities really gets one heart stirred!I so love colors that speak excitement and subdued beauty!Your yarns have such beautiful colors and sheen!!
Interesting patterns, new-to-me techniques, and beautiful yarn inspire me.
The colors of yarn and patterns inspire me most when I crochet.
Hello Chandi,
I’m inspired by color first, then texture and finding a pattern that will work well with the yarn I’ve chosen.
Learning new techniques, and knowing that there are endless possibilities for different combinations of stitches and designs, keeps me inspired.
Im always learning and creating wonderful things and that is what I love most about knitting.
Greetings from Charlotte NC! I just saw that you live here and I got so excited. I saw you on you tube a few months ago. What inspires me is just creating unique colorful pieces that are not mass produced by fast fashion retailers. Crocheting is so relaxing to me and just being blessed with the gift to make unique pieces and seeing others do the same is so inspiring.
Nature especially flowers inspire me as well as family 🙂
I get inspired by all of the gorgeous colorways and the joy I feel when I bind off that last stitch 😊
I’m inspired by the people around me, the colors of the different yarn, the textures of yarn, and just wanting to make things in general. I crochet usually, but I’m trying to knit. I’m slow at it and it’s not as enjoyable for me as crochet, but I like the look and eventually I’ll figure it out. Colorful yarn makes me want to make pretty things to wear, like scarves and cowls and hats.
I’m knitting up a baby blanket right now along with baby boy hats and jackets! I love all your colors they are so rich and beautiful 😍
Those colors are so beautiful! So many things inspire me. I love amigurumi, so animals inspire me, especially bees! They’re so adorable..how can you not love them? Also, turtles..sea turtles most of all. Such serene creatures. My niece also inspires me. I recently made a girl bunny wearing a dress for her 13th birthday and she called to let me know she loves it. 🙂 Another thing that inspires me is the colors of the ocean and autumn. Just beautiful!
I love the times I see a pattern or touch a yarn and think, “I must do this now!”, particularly when that’s an option. But I’m currently trying to find inspiration in the contemplation allowed by the baby sweater I’m making, the second of three in quick succession. This will get finished, as will the next, and these three great nieces or nephews will be warmed by the love that has gone into these tiny garments.
my inspiration comes at least half the time from a beautiful, irresistible yarn, and EFA yarns definitely are irresistible. I have been so inspired that I have a whole trunk full of EFA yarn and patterns for the projects I will (someday) make with them…. Keep making those irresistible and inspirational colorways! Thank you!
