I just got an unexpected job offer after years of struggling with unemployment, so if I won the giveaway I would make sweaters and tops to fill out my new office wardrobe!
The FIRST thing I’d do is share some yarn with a knitty friend!!

I am wanting to make a warm, softly draped wrap to wear in the cold air conditioned restaurants and my church. Evidently, I have gotten old in the last year and I freeze when a blast of cool air hits my neck or arms. Living in the Southeast USA we run the AC 9 months of the year so I know I will get a lot of wear out of a wrap. Also, I love your fabulous colors!

I love making all sorts of things with natural materials, I love weaving 🧶🪡, I make women bracelets, tapestry, bags, brunch weaving 🧶, with traditional Greek methods. I also combine leather parts with woven pieces to make handmade bags 👜.

I’ve had my eye on palimpsest for ages. But also, i keep a library of beautiful yarn. I frequently teach teenagers to knit, and having such a library means that when they master the basics, they can choose some really beautiful yarn for their first project. They know where my “yarn store” is, and they knkw that when they get their knits, purls, and tinking down, they can go choose something they love and pick a pattern. And I love giving them access to something they might not otherwise be able to have.

If I am lucky enough to win this month’s yarn giveaway, I would take the challenge of making “Mou Leipeis”, which I recently downloaded. Once made, I will send it to my cousin in UK who has had multiple family passings this year, including both parents, her closest uncle, her beautiful dog (who I was lucky enough to meet earlier this year, when I travelled to UK from Aus to meet my cousin) and most recently, her only son. She is the strongest woman I think I know. Thank you for such beautiful patterns and such lovely newsletters, Chandi. They are a delight and always provide a positive message. 🙂

Tomorrow I turn 70, and this milestone has me reflecting on the beautiful places I’ve been blessed to visit throughout my lifetime and the memories I’ve gathered along the way.
I have begun crocheting a very special heirloom travel throw that I’m calling “Threads of My Journey.” Each patterned square is inspired by a country I’ve visited, with colors to capture something beautiful about that place—the landscape, a special memory, or simply the feeling it left with me.
Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Israel, and so many others—each has left its own beautiful thread in the story of my life.
My hope is to create a signature heirloom throw representing these countries and the memories I treasure from each one.
I would love to win this beautiful yarn and weave some of your gorgeous hand-dyed colors into my journey. What a wonderful way to celebrate turning 70—creating something that holds the memories of where I’ve been and can someday be passed down to my grandchildren as an heirloom, telling my story of a life well lived one beautiful thread at a time. (Hope i wrote this comment in the right place). LOL
Ooooo! So many decisions! I have accumulated patterns as big as most peoples yarn stashes. Short sleeve sweaters are a good choice here. Wear them alone when it’s warmer (very short season) and over another top when it’s cooler.

That blue…Oh My…the colour is to die for. Not sure what I’d knit with this yarn, but the blue and the purple would have to be sweaters of some sort. Some shawls, maybe a baby blanket with the orange. What a wonderful dilemma to have.

I make neck warmers for street people I fill a basket in my car with them. When I see a street person, I pull out one of the neck warmers and ask, “Do you know of anyone who would like to have this?” The answer is always, “Yeah, MEEE!” Except one time when I stopped to talk with a woman and her old dog. It was pretty cold out and the woman told me her shivering dog was recovering from cancer treatment. When I asked my question, the woman said, “Can we put it on my dog?” Absolutely! So we got the neck warmer (which is a knitted ‘cone’ about 12″ tall and 25″ around) around the dog’s middle. She started wagging her tail and promptly peed on it!

I would start with a beautiful cardigan and keep going with a scarf.

I have a few cardigan and pullover patterns in my Ravelry favorites that are waiting for color and yarn inspiration, and I think that the gray yarn would be perfect for one of them, the burgundy for another. The variegated needs to be a shawl. I’m not sure about that luscious peach yarn – it deserves to used for something special, maybe a wrap. I think the turquoise would make a lovely afghan, or I would gift it to my daughter, as she loves that color.

I’m enthralled with this month’s colors. They are just so beautiful! The only item that immediately comes to mind is Arathorn, an EPA pattern by Emma Butram that I’ve been holding on to for a while. I would knit the Oasis DK into a short cardigan with 3/4 sleeves; crochet the Enduring Worsted into a pocket shawl; crochet granny squares – a throw, or poncho, or cardi or shawl – with the wildly splashy colorful yarn; knit a half- or 3/4-pi shawl…; knit the Luster Worsted into a long cardi with cables and collar and pockets…. Oh my goodness I can feel the yarn under my fingers already – and feel the delightful squishiness of the FO’s.

If I won, I would make shawls to give away, and then a large, soft throw/blanket for myself, for those very rare moments when I can sit and snuggle under a throw.
Ooh, I would probably make some lovely soft shawls and and wraps, but whatever I choose they would definitely be beautiful with these lovely colour yarns!
I would definitely use these to make a baby blanket for my new niece ❤️❤️
These yarns are beautiful. I would make at least a sweater and a shawl. Maybe an interesting scarf too.

I am kind of on a MIDNIGHT ROSES mosaic blanket kick right now. I am working on #4 today. They take me 2-3 months to make, depending on how much time I can give them. I am having trouble parting with them. I mean, who wouldn’t want a whole bouquet of roses on their bed, or couch, or as wall art, or an area rug, or to wrap themselves in?! I am so in love with that pattern from The Crochet Couch. But I am thinking I will take some of these winnings from you, if I win, to make another one of your CROSSASTER patterns, and for sure your PHOTOPERIODIC for a nice warm cowl for this upcoming cold season about to hit Indiana.
