Hello, beautiful soul! I’m so delighted to announce our 2026 Fall Knit and Read Along! We’ll join together on Ravelry to knit the gorgeous Centered blanket pattern, while also reading Sangu Mandanna’s The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches together. Plus, there will be prizes at the end of our event, so I hope you’ll keep reading to learn how you can sign up and join in on all the fun!

Our featured pattern for the Fall Knit and Read Along is Centered, which was designed by Carolyn Currier. When asked about this design, Carolyn said, “There is a particular peace that comes from making something slowly with intention, stitch by stitch, row by row, always moving toward the center. This blanket is worked in 16 squares, and each one begins at the outer edge and draws inward, row by row, toward a still and quiet heart. The design is meditative, rhythmic, and deeply satisfying to watch take shape. Gold runs through this blanket like magic, reminding us that we are both the center of our own story and held within something greater. Knit it slowly. Let it center you.”

This is an Adventurous Beginner level pattern and is for knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills/concepts include knit, purl, slipped stitches, and seaming techniques. The pattern includes written instructions, as well as schematics, and comes with a video tutorial.

Centered is knitted with our luxurious Pearlescent Fingering yarn, which is a 50:50 blend of Superwash Merino Wool and Mulberry Silk. When you combine these fibers into a single-ply yarn, you get subtle differences in tone, as the wool and silk take the dye differently. Colors dyed onto this yarn base are super rich and saturated and appear iridescent and otherworldly. Pearlescent Fingering is ideal for next-to-skin accessories like cowls, shawls, scarves, hats, and more! Unbelievably soft with a lovely drape and a shine that just won’t quit and 550 yds/503 m per skein!

The sample shown here was knit with our Very Secret Society Hues Pearlescent Fingering Kit and used approximately 5,250 yds/4,800 m total (Color A: 510 yds/470 m, Color B: 510 yds/470 m, Color C: 480 yds/440 m, Color D: 480 yds/440 m, Color E: 460 yds/420 m, Color F: 460 yds/420 m, Color G: 470 yds/430 m, Color H: 480 yds/440 m, Color I: 480 yds/440 m, Color J: 460 yds/420 m, and Color K: 460 yds/420 m).
