Hello, my sparkling dewdrop! I have a wonderful pattern to share with you today! Our knit pattern this week is a trio of accessories that I know you’ll love. Read on to learn more about them!

Allium was designed by Johanna Huck. When asked about her inspiration for this set, Johanna said, “This accessory set was inspired by the ornamental plant species allium giganteum. Its blossom is made up of clusters of many small bulbs that are arranged in a sphere and contribute to its striking appearance. This characteristic is picked up and repeated throughout all the pieces of the set, which includes a cowl, headband, and matching fingerless gloves.”

“The flower motif features a long stem with leaves that are highlighted by eyelet lace on reverse stockinette. The allium blossom is mimicked by evenly arranged cables completed with bobbles. All items are finished with a bottom and top border that imitates flower petals. Worked in Enduring Worsted, this set will not only keep you warm on cold winter nights, but also works up quickly for a fun and diverse project.”

Allium is made with our snuggly and oh-so cozy Enduring Worsted yarn. This yarn has a nice, tight twist, which results in beautiful, defined stitches and projects that will hold up well! This yarn is a blend of 80% Superwash Merino Wool and 20% Nylon and has about 180 yards (165 m) per skein.

Our samples are shown in colors Tulip Path and Eternal Enduring Worsted. Approximately 437 yds (400 m) total were used in the sample (3 skeins): Cowl (207 yds, 190 m), Headband (78 yds, 72 m), and Fingerless Gloves (152 yds, 139 m).

This Intermediate level pattern is for those knitters who are comfortable learning some new skills or stitch combinations. Methods include easy cabling, making bobbles, eyelet lace, and Kitchener stitch. The pattern contains both charts and written instructions, as well as schematics.

We filmed a video showing you how to knit the petal border. Have a look!
