Thank you so much for the generous GA. Read about it on Instagram. I learned the basics of knitting at school around agw 10/11. Advanced in my knittung skills by reading books and YT tutorials. Sunny greetings Bee
Your yarn and blog and videos are amazing!!! I want to buy it all! I learned how to crochet by watching your videos, and I’m trying to learn how to knit as well. Thank you so much for all that you do and bring to the world! <3
I’m a long time Facebook and Instagram follower so I’ve been aware of your generous giveaways for ages! I was taught how to knit by my grandma when I was about 12 years old. Just before my first child was born, my Aunty taught me how to crochet and it has become my passion! I can still knit and love the look of knitted items, but I am not quite as proficient at it. I’m very grateful to have come from a long line of knitters and crocheters on both sides of my family. I only have one Grandma left and it has really been something we can bond over!
Heard about giveaway on your newsletter/blog.
Yarns look amazing….as usual. 🙂
I learned about this giveaway by checking out your blog. I was taught the basics of crocheting by a friend from church when I was a kid, and continued to learn more through books and youtube videos.

Hi! I saw the post about the giveaway on Pinterest. My mom taught me to crochet when I was young but I didn’t like it. I tried it again this summer from a learn to crochet book and I loved it. This winter I will learn to knit (also from a book, but I have several friends to run to with questions).

I found out about the giveaway from your blog. You!, Chandi, taught me how to knit via YouTube!!!!!!
It’s almost been a year since I learned and I love knitting!!!! Thank you!! And Merry Christmas to
you and your husband!!!!
I get your newsletter.
Hi! I found this giveaway because I shamelessly stalk this blog and couldn’t possibly miss it. My mom taught me the knit stitch back when I was a little kid, but I picked up the more basic techniques and stitches through youtube about a year ago, and also used youtube for more intermediate techniques, so I guess my knitting education was a joint effort from people all over!
I saw this month’s yarn giveaway on Twitter! I also signed up for the e-newsletter (which I love!) and liked the Facebook page.
My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a young adult. When her arthritis progressed too much she actually gave me all of her crochet hooks and her yarn basket.
I just learned how to knit. After 10 years of trying to learn from a book ….and failing….I found Chandi’s tutorial on YouTube and picked it up instantly! I knit (almost) every night and can’t wait to get really good at it so I can make things for my loved ones!
I heard about this giveaway on your Facebook page. I am a self-taught crocheter. I also am a self-taught knitter (REALLY REALLY beginner), but I plan to learn more than the basic knit/purl stitches in the new year! Thank you for the opportunity to win these GORGEOUS yarns 🙂

Chandi,
I love your colors, the yarn, the inspiration and your story! I stumbled on this post while trying to figure out what I could make with your peacock sock yarn (besides socks).
My grandmother taught me to knit. I grew up in Maine and she knit us wool mittens for Christmas every year. I always wanted red ones and I can still remember how warm they were and how wonderful they smelled when they got a little wet. She taught me how to knit because I am left-handed and she was too. She gave me her mittens leaflet. I still have it and I treasure it.
A wonderful woman in Paris taught me to crochet. She in a waiting room with us (I was still a child) and was working on a beautiful cream rug with red roses. She took note of my fascination and invited my mother and I to her visit at her home and she taught me how to crochet and let me work a small portion of the rug (she was left-handed too).
Although my mother did needlework, she was right-handed and had neither the inclination nor the patience to teach me, so I am very grateful to both of these women.
Needlework has always been how I meditate and stay present. Now I need it to keep my hands and brain functional after a series of brain lesions. I became an expert knitter/crocheter at a very young age but after my illness I couldn’t keep count of stitches, or remember pattern steps, or produce my nice regular stitches. I kept at it and ripped out as many stitches as I made, over and over again to the point of tears. I kept at it and finally completed something! Needlework has been a huge part of my recovery.

Love working with your yarn! Looking forward to building up the status with the lovely colors

I am a crocheter. I started off about 3 years ago on a blanket that my nanny taught me how to make and it wasnt until this year that I decided to expand my crochet skills. My nanny’s knowledge is limited to a simple granny square so now I watch various YouTubers and I buy a weekly crochet magazine (The Art Of Crochet). Pretty soon I think i’ll be teaching my nanny how to crochet more things!

I actually didn’t have someone teach me. I’m 17 now, but when I was 11? I was given a Klutz crochet book equipped with a hook and 2 skeins of yarn for Christmas. And that’s how it began. A year later I received the Klutz knitting book and well you can guess what happened. I’m hooked! Needled? XD My parents never thought those books would affect me so much, they thought I might dabble in it for a couple months and move on. Ha! Nope. 🙂

I’ve been following you on YouTube and Pinterest(which is where I found this post) for a few months now. Your knitting for beginners video is actually how I learned how to knit. My mom taught me to crochet about 3 years ago and now I fear its an obsession. 😉
I saw it on Instagram and FB, plus I’m a regular blog reader, so I check periodically for updates. I actually taught myself to knit from a book I checked out of the library when I was 19 and newly married, with no job. My mother had taught me to crochet when I was younger, but I never really cared for the fabric of crochet. Always liked knitting better, but didn’t know anyone who could teach me. Best thing I’ve ever learned to do. So many friends!!! Love your stuff!
I heard about this giveaway from A friend and tgen on Facebook. Love the yarns, it would be so exciting to work with these gorgeous colours. My mom taught me to knit, just like I taught my daughter to knit as well.

My grandma crocheted so I watched until I ‘got it’ at age 5. I learned how to knit in an arts-n -crafts class in 7th grade at age ,12.
I saw this awesome giveaway on Instagram. My dad and a family friend both tried to teach me how to knit (English style) and I couldn’t get the hang of it. I finally learned to knit continental style from the Internet after I started spinning and wanted to be able to knit my handspun. Now I always carry a knitting project with me! I learned to crochet in high school, but I don’t remember who taught me.
Cannot seem to get enough of your yarn.

Hello Chandi,
I love your videos. I am a newbie to knitting. I used your videos to learn how. I saw this giveaway on Facebook.
Thanks for sharing with us!
I saw this giveaway during my usual visits to your site. I just love looking at your pictures and yarn. I love that your bases are so unique, and always a pleasure to knit. My grandmother taught me to knit originally. I was very young so it didn’t stick. Later when my girls where young my sister taught me. She’s responsible for teaching both my girls to knit too. They are grown now but both continue.
An elderly neighbour taught me to crochet when I lived in Holland. I was just 10 years old. It wasn’t until many years later in my mid thirties that I picked a crochet hook up again and it’s been a love affair ever since.

I admit it! I am a yarnaholic! I heard about this month’s giveaway while checking out the Expression Fiber Arts Facebook page (After I visited the Expression Fiber Arts webpage and bought more yarn!) I learned how to knit in 4-H and have kept at it since.
I heard about this giveaway on facebook. I first learned to knit a bit from my uncle’s ex-wife, Aunt Mary, who I later lost track of and then met again on facebook, a couple of years ago. I learned again in seventh grade from my English teacher in a knitting mini-class, and kept on through 4-H in junior high. I finally took a sock class in 2013, after over 40 years of knitting. A member of the writing group I’m in showed me how to make granny squares, so now I crochet, too.
Hi
I learned crochet in school about age 9 ,and my mother taught me to knit when was 10 year alt ,I enjoy working with yarn , I see you add on Facebook.
Heard about the giveaway on FB & taught myself how to crochet 8 years ago and knit 5 years ago. Thanks for the chance to win chandi!
Woah! What a ginormous giveaway!
I definitely enjoy the emails I get from you, there’s always something that catches my eye. But I think I’m really covering eventually owning a skein or poetry and prose. And old text books.
Received notice from a tweet. I am always amazed how you transform gorgeous pictures in fabulous yarn!
I heard about this giveaway on your blog. My grandmother taught me how to knit 20+ years ago.
Hi, Chandi! Heard about the giveaway via your FB page, and have been in love with your beautiful yarns for about a year now, when a friend put up a link to the vineyard colorway of sparkle silk fingering you had at the time, talking about how much she coveted it. I bought some sparkle silk fingering myself, from your December club, then and there. Been a fan ever since. You make some of the loveliest yarns!
My mom taught me to crochet when I was about 8 years old, and I did it for two years and then forgot about it for a long time. Took it up again when I needed something to occupy me through the snowy times after I moved from California to Michigan. She also tried to teach me how to knit, but for some reason I just could never wrap my mind around it.
I heard about the giveaway from your blog. 🙂 My mother tried to teach me how to crochet when I was a “tween”, but I was way too hyperactive to be interested at that time. Fast forward 3 decades (or so, ha ha) and the crochet bug bit me again. 😉 I tried to get mom to teach me once more, but this time she wasn’t having it. 😉 Can I blame her? No, not at all. 😉 So, it was all up to me…and, well, books…and YouTube! 😉 Now after 2 years (or so), I’m kickin’ it like a rockstar (ha ha)! 😉 Actually, I’m still just a little more than a beginner (and also just a big jokester, because I’m no where near rockstar status!!). I can do basic stitches (sc, dc, hdc, tr, etc) but I still haven’t learned things like the front post and back post, and I haven’t learned how to read the patterns that look like drawings (those are so cool, but confusing to me!!!). Those tasks are next on my list. 🙂 Hmmm, and as you can probably guess, I tend to talk too much, and give more information than is asked for. 😉 I like to think that keeps things interesting. You may have a different opinion. 😉 (Hopefully your comments will be nice…)
I learned to crochet more than 25 years ago when my kids were young. Over the years, busy with kids and work, there wasn’t any time to keep it up. When my daughter in law was on bed rest while pregnant with her first child, she needed something to do — so I refreshed my skills (through Youtube videos, like yours) and then taught her how to crochet. We both spent those two months crocheting a baby blanket! Now, I’m crocheting everything I can get my hands on. I’m addicted once again! Love your website and your work is beautiful! Inspires me to keep on learning more.
heard about it on my twitter feed.
I visit your blog regularly so know of these givaways. My mom tought me to crochet when I was about 6 years old. I kept at it with the help og books from my grandma. I tought myself to knit using the same books. Since I tought myself with a book I unintentionally learned to knit in the combined method, but would not change it any more for I find it quite a comfortable way to knit.
Verena
I heard about this giveaway in Facebook and my little sister taught me how to knit.
I saw the post on Facebook. I’m self taught at crochet and knitting, although I grew up with a crafty mom and could just not get it. I’ve only been doing both for about a year, but love it. If I could win this beautiful yarn, I’d make something nice for my mom and I.
Oohhhhhh, lovely yarn! Saw it on Facebook and I learned to knit using youtube and websites 5 years ago while on chemotherapy. A life saver and I am now making some decent pieces! I loooooove it!
I saw the giveaway in your newsletter. It’s so wonderful of you. Merry Christmas.
I heard about this through Facebook. My mom taught me how to crochet over 7 years ago.
Heard about the contest from a friend in an online crochet swap group. Thanks for running the contest!
A friend just gave me a gift certificate and I can’t wait to get my shipment! I had never heard of Expression Fiber Arts, so I “liked” on Facebook and saw the post on my feed.
My mother taught me to knit when I was four years old…I can still remember the uneven, holey, raggedy fabric that my mother praised me for. Fifty years later and having just lost my mom, I’m glad to have that precious memory of time spent with her. I was in 5th grade when a friend taught me to crochet. In going through things at my mother’s home, I found a crocheted granny square strip that was one of my first pieces.
I learned to crochet almost one year ago. One of my very good friends and I learned together when she was very sick and needed something to do to pass the time while on bed rest. I have totally fallen in love with it, and learned to knit 8 months ago. I’ve been crafting ever since and love making gifts for my family and friends. I have even started a small side business with it, and hope one day to grow it into second job. I would love to win this giveaway to get access to some really lovely yarns that I typically wouldn’t be able to afford.
I learned to knit and crochet from my grandma. I saw this contest on Facebook.
Excited to enter this month’s draw! I first learned to crochet from my mom (can’t remember how old I was, but I remember it didn’t take!) That’s why one of my university roommates had to give me some refresher tutorials (probably in an attempt by both of us to avoid schoolwork!). Lastly, my good friend Miriam encouraged me recently to give knitting a try. I did; she coached; I found your videos online – and here I am!
I learned everything about sewing and knitting this year, in a class that my school offers and it’s been really fun and I’ve enjoyed doing projects based off of what I’ve learned. I found out about this by watching your video on how to make a headband and it’s really helped a lot (:
I found this giveaway as a suggested Facebook post. Nicest one of those that I have ever seen.
Thank you for giving us a chance to win! You’re yarn is fabulous#
Remembered to come and enter on my own this month! As always, your yarn giveaway looks amazing, and I’ve love to make a heap of accessories out of the stash 🙂

I found out about dec 2015/jan 2016 yarn giveaway via email. I LOVE this yarn. I knit some but mostly crochet. I’ve been crocheting since a young age and I am always working on a project (or 2, or 3). My mother taught me some crochet, but it is my Grandma who is the inspiration. She always made beautiful doilies, afghans and slippers. When I show my projects to family they say Oh you got your talent from Grandma!
When I was 7 years old, I was taught to crochet by a neighbor.
I heard about the give away and your yarn shop on face book My great Grandmother lived next door and as soon as I was allowed which was about age 4, I would go next door and she would spend hours teaching me to crochet , knit and embroider. I loved being with her and by 4 1/2 I was crocheting and knitting. The embroidery came at about 5 1/2 as it was a sharp needle. I miss my Great Gram and will forever be grateful to her for her patience with me.
I saw the giveaway on Facebook. I learned to knit from my awesome Girl Scout leader Natalie Ehm, but I was about 9. I learned again from Rose at Rose Tree Fiber Shop when I was in college. My great-aunt Marilyn taught me to crochet when I was a teenager . Thank you to all of them!

I heard about this giveaway from your newsletter. My mother taught me to crochet when I was growing up – don’t know how old I was. My best friend’s mom taught me how to knit when I was about 19. I crocheted for many years before I decided that I really preferred the fabric that knitting makes over the fabric made from crochet. I still crochet occasionally, but much prefer knitting. Your yarns are BEAUTIFUL!!!! I would LOVE to win this & would probably share with one or more friends. I would also probably give at least one skein to my 13 year old granddaughter because I’m trying to turn her into a fiber addict like me.

Hi Chandi! I just love your yarns 🙂 I’ve been on a “yarn diet” for several months thanks to my hubby 😉 I would love to try out your yarns LOL! I drool over them every chance I can!
I was taught to crochet by my mom when I was very little. She is left handed and I am right handed, so I would sit in front of her and mirror her movements to figure out how to do what she did. About 6 years ago, I met a wonderful woman online and a little over 3 years she started teaching me to knit via Skype, Facebook, and Youtube LOL… The first thing I made was a cowl that she made along with me! She was the most talented woman I have ever met! Her creativity knew no boundaries!!!! Sadly, in September of this last year, she suffered from a seizure and passed away very suddenly. I would have never guessed you could have such a close and dear friend for years without ever have even met them in person. I still, to this day, find myself sitting down in the morning after I drop the kiddos off at school with my cup of coffee to message her to see what we are going to be working on today! Every time I pick up my knitting needles, I think of her and hope that she is looking down on me with as much excitement as I have when I finish another project 🙂

I saw this contest advertised on FaceBook!
I taught myself to crotch out of a book when I was about 12; and I taught myself to knit with my mother’s huge Knitting Stitch Encyclopedia book.
I haven’t ordered yarn from EFA yet due to the fact that I don’t know what it would cost in extra’s besides shipping and taxes to come to Ontario, Canada. I’m not so happy when I ordered other things and the brokerage fees and extra shipping costs more than the item 🙁
But I would love to order every time you post one of your luscious yarns. Another problem for me would be I just can’t decide they are all so beautiful <3
OMGoodness, crotchet not crotch…
And I taught myself to knit shortly after I started crotcheting because I felt so limited with very little crocheting patterns available way back when…..

I was taught to knit at an LYS two years ago. I signed up for a class because I knew I needed something creative in my life. I had just finished grad school and was long distance from my boyfriend while job hunting. I signed up for a learn-to-knit class and the owner was just wonderful. So helpful and happy to walk us through casting on, knitting, and purling. Thanks, Norma!
My then-boyfriend is now my husband, we’ve closed to distance gap, and I have been knitting ever since.
Stumbled across this blog post when looking for advice on blocking a scarf.

I found out about this contest on your Facebook page. My grandmother started teaching me to crochet when I was 5 years old. Half of her body was paralyzed due to strokes. All she could teach me was how to make a chain. After a year and miles of chains my mother taught me the rest. I didn’t learn to knit until a lot later. A very dear friend that knitted sweaters for the Winter Olympics taught me. I love both crochet and knitting. Thanks to the three wonderful ladies in my life.

I learned to crochet by teaching myself years ago from those little leaflets you can pick up in yarn departments (or could at that time!) Then I didn’t do any for many years….Picked it up again about three years ago and refreshed my memory and learned SO MUCH more from online tutorials….I think the crochet community is such a wonderful place! So many very talented (mostly) ladies and a few men – who share their knowledge and talents so freely with the rest of us! I so appreciate all that has been shared here and elsewhere on the ‘net because it has helped me tremendously!
Love your work….just beautiful! OOOH! I’d love to win those yarns….thank you for this fantastic opportunity! Since today is Christmas, Merry Christmas to you and all…today is also my birthday = what a lovely belated birthday gift this would be – to win some of these soft, wonderful yarns!

My Great Auntie Mary was the one who taught me to knit and crochet…I would watch her when I was very young. I was mesmerized by the fluid movements and how the hook or the needles seemed to be as much a part of her as her fingers and toes were…she taught me as soon as I could hold the hook and the needles! That was more than 50 years ago!
I have taught hundreds of strangers to knit and crochet…in doctors waiting rooms, planes trains and buses, parks…the beach… I always have an extra hook and set of needles plus a small ball of yarn just for that in my project bag! There are needles and hooks that I no longer use after I replaced everything with bamboo!

I was simply looking through YouTube to learn about the basics of crocheting. I saw that you had a video about creating granny squares and wanted to know the proper technique for creating them since I plan on creating a tote bag. My friend introduced me to the art of crocheting back in September 2015 and it has helped me to elevate stress while in college lol.
Saw your giveaway on Facebook! I love your yarn!
I started learning how to crochet when i was 8.. but my mom didn’t have the patience for teaching me lol so when I went to college I joined a new group called SOCKS – Society for Crocheting and Knitting Students. One of their memebers taught me how to crochet small 6×6 squares and from there I started making scarfs and they helped me learn how to read patterns. I recently learned how to knit through a Knitting group I joined in Princeton (where I live now). I usually take my crochet projects but on World Knit in Public day I decided I wanted to learn how to knit! So they helped me. So far I only know how to knit and Purl but I’m trudging along on a scarf pattern I found online =] Can’t wait to make myself a cowl!!

She always said she didn’t have the patience to teach me. I was in 5th grade. I learned how to crochet with a bunch of friends in a group living situation back in 1969. We taught each other and had our own names for the stitches. At the time, simple crocheted vests with a little tie chain in the front were the must have item and we cranked them out in a variety of colors. Some to sell, some to keep.
I just found you via Pinterest, and wowzers- I’ve been missing out! I love to crochet, and learned about 12 years ago in college. I was part of a traveling singing group that represented the college through the summer, and by the end of our tour all 9 of us were crocheting.it was so fun! One of the members, Johanna, taught me. I actually stumbled on the blog part of your website by accident. I was on ravelry and saw one of your pattern. When I clicked on your profile (and then your subsequent website) in lieu to find a colorway I liked in the yarn weight you suggested for the pattern I was led to your blog and the giveaway.
I’m self taught when it comes to both crochet and knitting (though I’m a far better crochet-er than knitter). I originally learned how to crochet so that I could do bead crochet. After a couple of years of doing that exclusively, I began searching for videos on youtube to help me learn how to knit.
Found your site while seeking that scrumptious chocolate diamond cowl pattern on Ravelry, found your blog and yarn giveaway from your website, found myself with a Happy smile watching you make pom poms. Thanks for the smile, I needed that. I tried knitting with my Mom around age 12 but just couldn’t sit still long enough. I brushed by it again in college and really took off with it in my late 20s when I found that all things fiber made me very happy. I started reading patterns, lots and lots of patterns and took one class… the rest is from magazines and books.

Believe it or not, YOU taught me how to knit just 2 days ago. I just moved to a cold climate from South Florida, and decided to take up knitting as a new hobby (I already sew). I watched your beginner videos and literally just finished my first project – your headband using only the knit stitch (I’m wearing it right now!). Your videos are great and so is your website. I’m looking forward to starting my next project after I watch your video on how to purl! 🙂
I found. the giveaway via email and my grandma taught me to crochet when I was 8 years old.
I saw this giveaway on Facebook.
My cousin Joyce taught me to crochet 45 years ago! 🙂
Heard about this via Facebook. Learned to knit in 4th grade, a pair of pink mittens by my Irish grandmother. Learned to crotchet by my other granmother a year or two later.
Well can’t tweet, or follow on Instragram, but I can say hi on your blog! Happy new year!
I saw your video on youtube.
I learnt to knit myself through various online resources
I heard about the giveaway on Facebook. I’ve been taught by two wonderful ladies, Suzie S. And Tamara Goff at Knit Oasis.
I learned about your giveaway from your pinterest page. Actually, you taught me how to crochet and knit…. from your YouTube tutorial! I was taught how to do a basic chain when I was a little girl but never really learned anything other than that chain. My husband’s grandmother gave us some beautiful crocheted afghans (King size bed sized) that she made specifically for me and him before she passed away. All of sudden I wanted to learn again. I watched video after video until I found one (yours) that I could follow along with. I have made my daughter a pink and grey afghan for her bed and am now working on my son one. I am proud to say that Chandi from Expression Fiber Arts taught me how to crochet and knit. Thank you.
I learned about your giveaway on Facebook. I learned to knit in 2nd grade, when I was in Brownies (Girl Scouts).
Hi Chandi! I really wanted to learn how to knit and crochet but had no one to show me so I found some of your videos and absolutely loved them and your personality. So I subscribed to your YouTube channel and learned how to do both. So you actually taught me how to knit and crochet! So I found your blog and that is where I seen the free giveaway!
I learned to crochet and embroidery from my great aunt. I learned to knit from a co-worker before she died due to cancer. It’s relaxing and I love to make prayer shawls for those needing to feel the warmth of God’s love and prayer blankets for our NICU.
Saw your post on Facebook about the contest.
Saw add on face book. My great Aunt taught me to knit at the age of 10.

I learned the slip stitch from my grandmother when I was little, but found that other stitches existed a few years ago and started learning!
I heard about this giveaway on Facebook. I followed you after I saw your videos on you tube
I saw this give away on the one and only facebook!! My Mom had tried to teach me how to crochet many times and I never got it. So I figured I was never going to do yarn working. Then I happen to roam across your video and I thought “Sure why not!?” So I watched it and then looked up at my Husband and said “I Can Do THAT!!” We went out and got me a starter kit and a skein of cheap yarn.. Sure enough I got it. The first 3 projects I made were scarves for my 3 girls! Then projects just kept coming left and right. I have been knitting for almost a year now and I can not tell you exactly how many projects I have done. I make up baby hats and blankets and donate them to friends, family or people I know who need them. I have donated 2 baby blankets, 2 baby cocoons, and probably around 10 or 15 hats so far. I have been doing this for around a couple months now. My goal is to get enough knitted to make a big donation to the Mission mart here in town. They will also give them out to families or individuals that need them. I am so relieved that you posted that video and even if I dont win, I want to tell you simply thank you! You have helped me save our family over $100 this winter just by knitting neck warmers, scarves, hats and blankets for our family of 7!
I saw this on Facebook. I taught myself to knit (twisted my knit stitches for over a year!!) from YouTube videos. Love your yarn colors!!

Exciting blog post! My niece told me I’d love this site and I do 🙂 I learned to knit in grade school, we had something called ‘electives’ on Fridays and I elected to learn how to knit! Mrs. Brown was my teacher then my grandma helped me over the years then it was trial and error after that! Did a lot of tinking and developed the middle name ‘rip’ and can never have enough wool!

I read about this give-a-way on Facebook! Would love to win!!
I learned about this yarn via the internet. It looks like it would be wonderful to work with. I learned to crochet from my boss about 30 years ago. She taught me to make granny squares and the basic stitches; chain, single crochet and double crochet. From there I went crazy. I truly learned how to knit by a wonderful lady who co-owned a local yarn shop that closed up within the past 2-3 years….I/we miss the store dearly.
I saw your post on Facebook for the giveaway. I learned the basics of crochet from my Mamaw and taught myself to knit from YouTube.
I saw this giveaway on your Facebook page. My Grandma taught me to crochet the chain and that was all I knew what to do until I learned the rest. Ha! I think my Grandma also taught me the very beginning of knitting.
Facebook, and taught myself 🙂

My grandmother taught me to knit and I saw this on facebook.
I saw the giveaway on Facebook. My mom taught me to crochet and I learned to knit from a home ecominics teacher way back in 7th grade.
Found the giveaway on Facebook and via your email. Learned to knit first, from my Mom, sort of. She got too flustered trying to teach this too tight knitter so I taught myself!
I saw your post on Facebook about the giveaway: I learned hot to knit at fifteen from watching a tv show on the diy network and books I checked out from the library ?
I learned knitting and crochet all by myself , Internet was my teacher … but had a crazy knitter and crocheter in my house and that’s my mother. I saw her doing this most of the time. She really inspired me.
I got to know about this giveaway from google.

I receive your newsletter, and follow you on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram…in your yarn stalker…lol
My great great aunt Doris taught me to crochet when I was about 12 years old. She made gorgeous doll dresses, throws and pillows. The only trouble was that she was left handed and I was right handed so to help me learn, she took me to her neighbor’s house. Unfortunately I forgot most of it over time so I re-taught myself through youtube tutorials and decided to learn to knit as well which is where I came across your videos and this giveaway.
I saw the giveaway on Pinterest. My mom taught me how to crochet when I was six years old and a family friend taught me to knit when I was twelve.
I saw your Facebook post about the giveaway. My mom taught me how to knit and crochet. I’m note teaching my 7 year old niece.
I saw the email and probably saw a post on Facebook about this, but I followed the link that showed up in the search engine when I searched for January yarn giveaways. My grandmother taught me to crochet, and now if I need to learn something new i ask my mother, who is an expert crocheter, but holds her books weird. My aunt taught me to loom knit, and I’ve really taken off with that..
Saw it on Facebook
Hi! I heard about this giveaway on Pinterest. I actually watched your videos on YouTube and taught myself to knit and crochet! Now I’m obsessed!
I heard about this via Facebook and my email.
I taught myself to crochet almost 3 years ago.
I found this giveaway while looking at all the yummy yarn in your shop, and I taught myself to knit through youtube videos, help from my local yarn store, and lots and lots of practice!
I learned about your giveaway from a Facebook ad, which linked me to your blog.
My mother taught me basic knitting at age 8, for a Girl Scout achievement badge. Everything else I picked up from pattern magazines as this was long before the days of online video tutorials, or Craftsy classes. I have loved watching this craft and community grow over the last several decades, and especially love the fibers we get to work with now! A far cry from what I started with!
Would love to win this stash.
I saw the ad for entering on the sidebar on FaceBook.
I learned to crochet in my 20s, self-taught, but my grandmother and great-grandmother crocheted, they just didn’t have time to teach me.
I found my way here from your YouTube channel, where you taught me the knitting basics. Incidentally, I happen to be a continental knitter, so your videos helped me in a way that many others couldn’t because they worked with their right hand. Before I even knew what the heck I was doing, I knew that the way you did things was the right way for me.
I saw it on Facebook. I took a class last year to learn to knit. After that I’ve been using a lot of youtube videos.
I saw your tutorials on YouTube. Whilst looking for how to videos because I’d learnt to knit from my mum and grandma it was something we all loved to do together and they shared information they learnt over time to me. I was never any good at making anything other then scarfs (gave to the cats as blankets) but the time spent with mum and gran priceless.
My gran has recently passed and me and mum thought we could try something new together so we looked on the Internet and came across your channel now it wasn’t knitting we found but crochet I’m trying to make the crochet scarf (Start with sometning familiar) and your channel is very helpful. So thank you very much! 🙂
Heard about this from Tammy Hildebrand. I learned to crochet more than 20 years ago from my friend Jody who spent a semester of her senior year in high school as a foreign exchange student in Sweden with a host family where she learned it. After learning the basic stitches from her, books and magazines became my primary teachers until I I discovered, many years later, this wonderful crochet guild group, the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Crochet Guild of America. They stretched my skill set and taught me so many new ways to use the basic language of crochet, and have provided many hours of fun and friendship.
In 1960 (seventh grade) i transferred to a public school where i met a mormon girl, and subsequently her mother, both of whom befriended me and brought me into their lives. Hasi, the mom, was a wonderful homemaker and subscribed to the mormon tradition cooking, baking, sewing, knitting — all around providing for her family with her own hands. she taught these skills to her daughter, who then passed them on to me. i knitted and crocheted doll clothes, baby blankets, afghans…then went on to rug hooking…all the while making german dishes and baking homemade braided bread. i appreciate all the things these friends taught me – they made me a better person, a start on who i am today.
I saw the giveaway on Facebook. I learned to knit as a Girl Scout in about 4th or 5th grade, but didn’t really fall in love with it until much later!
I subscribed to your newsletter sometime back and was searching for some thing interesting on the blog and found the post for giveaway.
I am self taught crocheter. During my first pregnancy I was prescribed full bed rest and I hate watching tv. So, YouTube taught me all about crochet!
I learned of this from a post on Facebook.
My mother taught me to crochet first them knit later.
I heard about your lovely yarns from a weaving acquaintance. After I searched your website on Google, facebook started showing me your posts. Oh technology! I learned to knit and crochet from my mother at a young age and am a self taught weaver.

Facebook. I taught myself to knit while pregnant with my first child
After seeing your post on Facebook, I couldn’t help clicking over to your blog. How Gorgeous is that yarn?!?!
I’m a seasoned Hooker since I learned how to crochet from my 2nd grade teacher.
I thought myself how to knit, with a little assistance from my LYS, in 2010, out of necessity. My hubby’s ship was sent to the Gulf to clean up the oil near the BP rig. He was gone from April to October, so I needed something to focus on.
I would love to win this and maybe, actually, possibly, make something for myself for a change.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Saw it on Facebook. I am a self taught knitter and crocheter. Would love to give these yarns a go!
I am Darla. I saw this giveaway on facebook. I love all the shades of yarn that are in this giveaway. I recently began crocheting again and am trying all kinds of new projects and stitches. I am also teaching my granddaughter how to crochet. Crocheting is definitely a craft to pass on to the next generation.
I check the giveaways regularly. I taught myself to knit from illustrations in a knitting magazine. Good grief illustrations makes it sound like they were chiseled on a stone table
I found your youtube channel and from there ended up here! I learned to knit when I was about 8, I think, from my mom. She just taught me the basics and I learned along the way after that. This is a really nice giveaway. Thank you.
I hear about this from my aunt Darla. I taught myself to crochet and she has helped me get better
Heard about this giveaway on Facebook. I’m a self taught knitter/crocheter. Started off with books, videos on youtube, and anything I could find online and at the library.

I saw your post on Facebook for the giveaway! Love your yarn..i taught myself how to crochet and knit..love it!
I saw your post on Facebook. My Mom taught me to crochet and I taught myself how to knit.
I just starting subscribing to your newsletter and youtube channel after I googled “crochet for beginners”, watched your video, and loved it! I found out about the giveaways from your videos. I have never done crochet or knitting before two weeks ago. I have learned crochet from your beginner videos and started the knitting beginner videos too but that is taking me longer to catch on.
Such gorgeous yarn! Working on my first project with your yarn and it is a dream to work with.
I learned to knit at age 14, my friend’s mom taught me. That was nearly 50 years ago….I love love love knitting!!! I saw the post for this giveaway on Facebook. Your yarns are beautiful! I really like the colors… Gorgeous!!
I saw this on my Facebook page. I love the colors of the yarn. I hope I get to win this give away. I taught myself to knit by watching lots of videos on you tube.
Lovely!
Hi! I found this post in the running of my everyday knit/yarn search. My grandmother told me how to knit when I was younger. But for some reason, I believe ´cause I started to draw, read and study, the hobby and lifestyle of knitting disappeared. I have been very depressed and been in a low point of my life this year, even though such great things have happened to me. So, when I called my grandmother and asked her what she was up to and she told me the usual answer “Oh I´m just knitting” I thought that´s what I am supposed do to. Starting slow knitting is what I have done everyday since that call and I´ve become addicted in a passionated and healthy way.
Hi Elin I was scrolling down comments and saw yours. Our stories are very similar, but my grandma taught me how to crochet instead 😀 Grannies are the best!!! xx
Hi,Chandi, thanks again for a chance at a give-away. I am on your mailing list and follow your blog,so I know about the gorgeous yarns up for grabs. When I was about seven years old -a long time ago!- my older sisters taught me needlecrafts. The one taught me to knit and sew and the other one to crochet. But I had to taught myself to read and understand patterns. Today I can make a modest income especially from crocheting and I am thankful to them. Not every sister is patient enough to teach a little sister.
My cousin Victoria taught me how to crochet and my friend Emily taught me how to knit.
I read about the yarn giveaway on Pinterest. I learned to crochet about three or four years ago, thanks to YouTube and the coworker who gave me my first hook.
I learned how to knit about 10 years ago at a 4-H conference and have never looked back!! I taught myself how to crochet using YouTube over a year ago because I felt like it was time, and while I don’t love it as much as knitting, I do like some of the stitch designs!
I learned about this contest on Facebook.
I found your gorgeous yarns through Pinterest. I have been a crocheter sine I was 8, taught by my stepmother. I began knitting as a teen, taught by a wonderfully talented lady named Bette. I admire your beautiful yarns and wish I knew how to dye yarn. Maybe someday… Until then I will enjoy the creativity and talent of people like you. Thank you for the giveaway.
I see this post on Facebook first, but I also see in my email as well as on Pinterest. My Gramma taught me as a little girl although I didn’t really knit much until in my early thirties when a dear friend spent hours reteaching me this wonderful art.
I’m subscribed to your newsletter.
My mom taught me to knit, and I later learned to crochet at school.
I learned about the giveaway on facebook. I learned to knit and then how to crochet watching Chandi on YouTube videos.
I took up knitting about a year ago; self-taught. I’ve purchased several books (used), a few sets of needles in various sizes, and went in search of a good advice via youtube. That’s where I discovered you. Your videos were the easiest to follow tutorials on casting on and basic knits/purls. Sounds silly, as there are literally hundreds if not thousands of videos instructing on the basic how tos of knitting. I’m a visual learner and after struggling a little in the beginning – as everyones style varies – I discovered the joys of knitting. I think your yarn is utterly gorgeous. So why not try for a freebies, right? Either way, I look forward to trying some of your lines on mittens and socks.
Facebook can be a wonderful thing.
Your yarn looks so beautiful. Would love to try your yarn but at this time the exchange on the Cdn.$ is far to high. Winning would allow me my wish.
I learned about this month’s giveaway from your various social media posts. I have been a follower & buyer of you for a year now going on two. At first my grandma taught me to crochet & then I learned to basic knit from her as well when I was 12. When I was 17 I learned to knit more advance by nuns that took care of me since I was in a convent for that year, that is a long story. Now I knit on a daily basis as I have found that is the only time that I feel no pain from my Fibromyalgia. There is only one yarn store out here besides Walmart or Michael’s that have yarn even close to yours but their’s is more expensive. I love it when I have enough money in my budget (tight with 4 kids) to buy any of your yarn since the colors and softness is so amazing!
Hi Chandi-Just saw the sponsored yarn giveaway on Facebook. Would love to win. I have to give my aunt, a leftie (as I am) total credit for my knowledge and love of all things fiber, yarn and fabric. She left a legacy not only with me, her niece, but also to each of her granddaughters and we are always comparing and sharing our memories of our teaching moments with her.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your yarns, so beautiful I often struggle to decide what to make!
Saw it on Pinterest. My mom hooked me up with my great grandma’s needles and then I found YouTube. It was all down hill from there.
I saw this on Facebook and I taught myself to crochet
I learned to knit as a Brownie (Canadian version of Girl Scout), and my god-mother taught me to crochet. I heard about this give-away on Facebook.
Thank you for giving us an opportunity to win these delicious yarns. My mother taught me how to both knit and crochet in my teen years.
I saw a post on Facebook about this wonderful giveaway. I learned to crochet at 5 years old. My Granny taught me. 🙂 I am a self taught knitter as of about 6 or 7 years ago. I would love to win all this luxuriousness! The end date is the day before my birthday & this would be the best present ever! ?
Hi Chandi – I saw the give away on FB. I learned to crochet when I was in college by reading a book and playing with the yarn. About 3 years ago, I took knitting lessons from Cyndi and still go to her knitting/crocheting workshops at AC Moore. I have learned so much and love going to the workshop every week. Not only am I getting lots of helpful hints and lessons, but I have met a wonderful group of ladies who knit and crochet. I love your yarn and am always amazed at the colors…..so many beautiful choices…….
I’m on your email list – hence how I found about this giveaway – and all the others ones, plus free amazing patterns!! 🙂
Actually, my grandmother tried to teach me, and I kind of failed. A few years later, YouTube came around, and helped me out 🙂
I heard about this from a student
Your snowflake video tutorial was one of the first I came across when I was learning how to crochet. It is still one of my favorites. Friends and family had my sparkly snowflakes attached to their presents last year and this year. I got lots of compliments on them. Recently, while searching for more ideas, I happened across your blog and spotted the yarn giveaways. Definitely inspired by the colours and patterns. Cheers to you!
I saw the giveaway on Facebook. I self taught myself to knit & crochet
I would love to win this in my birthday month! I saw this on Facebook and you, Chandi taught me to knit on YouTube. ?
I found out about your giveaway on facebook. I was taught to knit by my Grandmother at age 7.
Good Morning! I’m Tricia and I heard about your giveaway on Facebook. My sister got me started crocheting when I was young.
Hi Chandi, thanks for another great giveaway. I have never won any of your gorgeous, yummy yarn and sadly I cant afford it, (even asked one time to sample a mini skein so I could see how it works up with my crochet, sadly I never heard from you) but my fingers are crossed once again and maybe this will be my lucky birthday gift! Your videos taught me to crochet but I learned to knit from you first, then I picked up crochet. So your IT! 🙂 Have a great month!
~Crystal
So sorry that I missed your question. E-mail me through the website expressionfiberarts.com Look for the contact tab and write your inquiry there. This will assure you that I won’t miss further questions. : )
Browsing through YouTube looking for beginner projects to introduce to my 2nd-5th grade knitting club, your “How to knit a headband- beginner level” video caught my eye and towards the end I saw that you provide a monthly giveaway. I learned how to knit as a child while attending an elective at my Boys and Girls Club after school program, I can vividly remember looking forward to these classes. I now work at the same after school program and I am starting a knitting club in hopes to bring the same excitement I had about knitting to my students. I would love to share this beautiful yarn with my students.
I’m so glad I found your website! You have beautiful yarn colors!! I love that you put pictures with them that match the colors and names! I am hoping to get into spinning soon and found your website from watching one of your YouTube videos on spinning. I wanted to learn how to be self sufficient and spinning came to mind, but then I would need to know what to do with the yarn after that, so 4 years ago I started teaching myself to crochet by watching YouTube videos and reading anything I could find on it. I am so excited for the chance to win such gorgeous yarn!
You taught me how to knit and crochet by watching your youtube videos. I learned of the giveaway when I found this blog. Thank you!

Hi! Thank you for this awesome chance to win your beautiful yarns!
I was taught how to knit by my Grandmother and Mother – I treasure those memories of learning, their patience, and the beautiful gift that they gave me. Now I am teaching my nieces and the little girl that I nanny, and it makes me feel like I am a part of something important and beautiful in their lives.
P.S. I found out about you on Pinterest 🙂

Hi, I learned about this giveaway by checking out your blog. 🙂 I was taught the basics of crocheting by my lovely granny when I was a kid, she was a tailor back in the days. She also kept me busy making me sew buttons on napkins so I didn’t bother her while she was working xD I actually enjoyed that A LOT!
By the way, thank you for doing this. I love your yarn 😀

I learned to knit from youtube videos but I fell in love with fiber art while watching my grandmother. She crocheted and was a seamstress. She made clothes for me throughout my childhood.
I’d use this yard to make a shawl for her.
I heard about this contest from your emails.
I follow Expression Finer Arts on Facebook and learned about the giveaway when it showed up in my newsfeed. Your yarns are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for this opportunity!
My Mom’s step mother (my Grandma) taught me to crochet when I was 8. I still have the hook she gave me. I taught myself to knit from a book when I was sick in bed with the Asian flu when I was 9. Everything I know about knitting, quilting, sewing, etc I learned on my own. My Mom was a great cook but didn’t do any other “home arts.” I have been at it for almost 60 years. I saw your yarn giveaway contest in a Facebook advert. I love your emails and blogs. I also love the yarn but have to learn to not order when I am at work. The color rendering on my work computer has gotten me into a lot of trouble!
Heard about this giveaway through browsing the blog. I learned to knit just three months ago through my mother-in-law and have barely put down my knitting needles since! Have already ordered your yarn twice and LOVE it :). Thanks for all that you do!

My grandmother taught me to knit when I was very little and I learned to crochet when we moved to Australia and at all of our breaks the other children would sit with their crochet projects working on them and I just watched and basically taught myself from watching them and have been avid about it ever since.
Hello Chandi,
My grandmother taught me how to crochet. My grandmother could not read, so my Aunt would make the pattern and my Grandmother would copy it. I would watch her for hours. I was not very good at it. I just saw your video on knitting for beginners and am very excited about leaning to knit my first scarf. Thank you very much.
Pat
Saw the giveaway on Face Book. I am a self taught knitter and crocheter.
Chandi,
Thank you!!!! My eight year old daughter learned how to knit from your youtube video several month ago. She loves knitting! She just learned the pearl stitch from your video today (which is where we found out about your yarn giveaway). She looks forward to learning many more wonderful things from you. Thank you for blessing my daughter with a wonderful skill!
Thank you!
Ann
Hi. Saw a post on the giveaway on Ravelry. My mom taught be the very basics of crochet (chain and slip stitches) when I was 7. Then I took a crochet class in junior high so that I could actually make things. That was in the pre-Prop 13 days when California schools had such wonderful class options. At the same time, my sister took knitting and taught me the basics. I never did any knitting until I was an adult and was taught again by my supervisor at work, my mother-in-law, a co-worker friend, and self-taught from written instructions (pre-Internet days).
I saw this on Facebook…truthfully I,think I had given up on these! I have been signing up for over three years and never one. :(. But, I learned to knit in Australia thirty years ago when a neighbor named Erica taught me.
I saw this giveaway while browsing the website. My grandma taught me how to crochet, and I love it.
I’m a self taught crocheter (and I’m talking before computers, lol) and a little bit of a knitter. I saw your ad on a Facebook sidebar. And I LOVE you yarn colors!
I follow you on FAcebook so that is where I heard about the giveaway.I do like your colorways very much, and have purchased some of your yarn. I teach knitting at a LYS, so do get some of my yarn there, of course! I learned to knit when I was six. My mother was knitting mittens for my brother and I and I wanted to make some myself, so……the rest is history!
I saw the link to your giveaway on Facebook.
My grandmother taught me to knit in 1996. 🙂
i saw you on ;Facebook and I taught myself to crochet.
I found out about this contest on Facebook. Your yarn is gorgeous! My mom taught me hoe to knit 50 years ago!
I saw it on Facebook and became excited when I saw Yarn!!
I have seen your giveaways of facebook, pintrest, and your blog. I just learned how to knit a month ago by reading a book and watching tutorials, yours included, on youtube. I have been having medical problems and knitting has really just helped me relax and feel like I was doing something and not just wasting the day when I was having to lay down a lot.
I taught myself to crochet when I was waiting for my son to be born . Your yarns really spark my imagination and I always look forward to each new colorway .
I was browsing the web when I came across your website. It’s very interesting by the way. I first heard of crocheting when I was about 9. I had been visiting Vietnam for relatives when I met one of my aunt’s co-worker who crocheted. She taught me some basics, and when I returned home, I began to learn more through the internet and Youtube videos. Some time later, I picked up on knitting, and I have loved both since.
Heard about this website from a blog. Love the yarn. My Grammy taught me to knit. Good memories.
I was taught by my mother how to make a chain in crochet when I was around 9, and I taught myself from then on. And I just recently started learning how to knit, so I was looking up videos and came across yours! I find them very helpful and it’s made picking up knitting pretty easy! Very happy to have learned how to knit left handed because I work the yarn with my left, I find it easier. So thank you!
Hi Chandi,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of your yarn, and would buy everything you sell if I could. I found you via a Facebook link, and have already purchased several skeins of your wonderful yarn.
My mother started to teach me to knit when I was about 8 years old. My first project was a scarf. I made so many mistakes 🙂 but my mum would correct them overnight whilst I was asleep so I didn’t get disheartened.
I learned of your giveaway on FB. I totally enjoy your posts and so wish I could buy more of your beautiful yarns. They are my #1 favorites. My daughter taught me to crochet the year I retired. It’s been a fun journey learning and sharing my accomplishments.
Hi Chandi,
I’m new to crochet, but I’ve recently taken lessons at my local arts group and I’m learning! I’ve made a few things and that feels great. Thanks for a great website!
Lori
Hi Chandi,
My mother taught me how to knit when I was a teenager. She tried to teach me to crochet as well, but I have yet to master that skill. I’m so thankful for her instruction, and wish I could consult with her still. I found your website on FB, by following a TipHero link. I watched your video instructions for crocheting a rug. You have a very ‘easy to follow’ way of instructing and I look forward to watching more. Thanks so much!
Hi Chandi,
I am new to your site and your yarn, I actually stumbled upon it while browsing FB and saw your tutorial on tip hero featuring the rug that you made with your hands. I instantly fell in love with your techniques and through further research ended up here and I’m in yarn heaven!!!! Cannot wait to dive into some more tutorials and snag some patterns and get busy making some new items. My grandmother taught me basic crocheting when I was younger and I didn’t learn it. While I was pregnant with my twins I was on hospital bed rest with nothing but time on my hands, I picked up crocheting again. Now, I am a member of a local crocheting club called the Twisted Stitchers and I absolutely love, love, love everything about yarn and all of the amazing things that I can create. So far I have made scarves and hats.
Read about it on FB, learned to knit from my beloved Grandmother when I was small, but never really got the hang of it until just after she passed. I call her it her parting gift.
I taught myself to crochet and knit when I was a teen – about 45 years ago! Never felt very good at it, but made afghans and scarves. I ran into your utube video while looking for an easy pattern on a knit headband. That lead me to your blog, and I absolutely love it! And your website is wonderful! I will be back, but am going to go and make that headband! My grand daugter’s birthday is coming up, and I wanted a little something extra that I made! Thank you! And your giveaway looks marvelous!
I would love to win this lovely yarn. I love trying and use new and different yarns. I am disable and at home 95% of the time. Crocheting keeps me busy and helps me to help others.
Thank you
I went hunting for giveaways via google. I want to increase my craft stash to make more scarves for those in need this year.
I heard about this giveaway via Ravelry. I’m a self taught knitter thanks to youtube videos. For crochet, I learned from my friend who learned from her late grandmother. ^_^

I took a knitting class with my oldest 2 grand daughters. One still knits. I was 56 and they were 13 and 11. The classes were at a Michaels Craft store. I also learned how to weld in a sculpture class that month!
I found your giveaway from a facebook post. My Aunt Anna who has passed taught me a very long time ago. The only stitch I really learned was the double crochet. It wasn’t until about 10 years ago when I got my home did I pick it up again. Then I found Youtube and it was all over from there …Ive been hooked since then wink wink. Ive learned so many stitches and made many things. I think Ive only kept a few things for myself. I always find someone in need of them more then I do. lol I recently started dyeing wool with koolaid and have found Rit Dye More for acrylic yarn so Im on a new journey there too. Heres my dyed acrylic yarn project so far. Good luck to everyone :)https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1088625817844461&set=pcb.1088625924511117&type=3

Hi ! I heard about this giveaway on your Facebook page. I am a self-taught knitter with a little help from my dad in the beginning ( don’t tell him i said that ) and have been knitting for about 16 years. I self-taught myself crochet about 10 years ago when i saw someone sitting at my local county fair and I said to my self hey I can do that ! I am not as good with crochet as I am with knit , but i’m ok at it . I also needle and felt , I am also a spinner, on a wheel and a drop spindle .
I saw you on Ravelry and found out about the giveaway when I visited your blog. My dear mum taught me to knit and crochet 25 years ago when I was 8. Preferred crochet for many years because it felt more organic, but I’ve been knitting lace for the last 4 years and adore it.
What a great name you have! I love your colour palette. I learned how to crochet from a book. I have no family was raised in foster care. Crocheting has helped me quit drinking and then smoking and overeating. Your site popped up on my recommended sites on FB. I am really looking forward to learning from you.
These colors are gorgeous Chandi. I come every month since I heard of your blog hoping to win these wonderful bundles. This month has a lot of multi toned yarn. I have usually stayed away from those types. lol…scared of what they will look like when worked up usually. Eh…I’m open. I taught myself to crochet about 6 months ago. Although my sister had been trying to find an art form for me to be hooked on so it could drag me out of my depression. Crochet did it, my sister is a rock star and I’m trying to master lace crochet.
I saw this posted on a Facebook post, which I follow, and signed up right away! Would love to work with this gorgeous yarn!
beautiful yarns! wow!
I just stumbled upon your blog this morning in Facebook! I admit to being very new to knitting and crocheting but I have been trying to learn off and on. My mom first taught me to knit when I was about 10, and about 8 years ago tried to show me some crochet. She passed away last December and my sister and I happened upon tons of her yarn, hooks, needles, patterns and books. It’s a skill I would like to master as much as I can, for me and my daughter. The yarn looks stunning- I love the colors and its looks so soft! I would love a good yarn to start with!

Saw this looking through your blog after I read your post for the Funky Knitted Shawl pattern! (Great post and can’t wait to try that pattern by the way). I attempted knitting a lot throughout my life, but didn’t really get into it until a few years ago when a friend of mine picked it up to make Christmas presents on a budget. We taught ourselves while laughing and watching old Christmas clay-mation cartoons 🙂 Now I knit as often as my busy life will allow! It’s my favorite form of meditation 🙂
Heard about the contest on Facebook “you may like”; they were right!
I learned about the fun of crochet by watching my mother. She tried to teachme to knit at about the same time, I was 4 or 5 when the bug first grabbed me, yet was unable to as I kept trying to mirror what she was doing. My father ultimately taught me how to knit as mirroring his left handed knitting was just the thing I needed in order to learn. This year I tried teaching my daughter to knit, she too learned to knit and crochet by mirroring. YouTube videos finally taught her to crochet ( she has laughed about it when asked did mommy teach you, ” nope she couldn’t , I learned through YouTube”.
Fingers crossed that I can pass this colourful stash onto her.

I wish everyone here luck on the giveaway and hope the winner does something special with their prize.

I love your yarn. What drew me to your site and yarn is the many beautiful colours. I love bright colours and rich colours. They make the work that much more injoyable to watch the colours spin into a beautiful piece. I learned to crochet when working night shift at a nursing home. We had time between rounds and gradually started to knit and crochet. I was drawn to the crochet and my co-workers kindly taught me the basics and I haven’t looked back! I started with the inevitable scarf and moved quickly on to blankets and garments. I love crochet and call my time with it crochet therapy because it is so meditative.

I saw the yarn giveaway on Facebook. I taught myself to knit when I was a teenager using a book of instructions. Even though my mother would knit rag rugs with fabric scraps and using knitting needles that my father carved for her, for some reason I could never learn to knit from her. It was only with the illustrated pictures from the book that got me going. I remember the first item that I knitted was a sweater for my mother and she wore that sweater forever. I love to knit as it is very relaxing. I am finishing up a scarf and my next project is a puppy sweater for my little min-pin. Thank you for all the beautiful yarns, patterns and videos that you create to keep this wonderful art alive!!

Hi! I have always wanted to learn to knit but just haven’t had the patience. My wonderful neighbor has been helping me learn to crochet but it just wasn’t working. I’ve always been a very active person and as a disabled veteran with some stupid back problems and now a single mum, I find myself having many sleepless nights and thought how great if I could learn to create something beautiful and useful during that time! So I finally started teaching myself to knit – and to my surprise, I finally got it! (Thanks very much in part to your videos!) Thank you for that! I look forward to a fulfilling new hobby! Cheers!

First I’d probably roll around in all the skeins. And depending on the colours, I’d probably pick my immediate favourite… and then search all my patterns for the perfect fit.

I’ve since surpassed her and she now has me show her how to do things. She had originally taught herself. Hi! I saw this yarn giveaway on Instagram. I originally learned how to crochet from my grandma when I was 19. I stopped a few months after I learned and picked it back up again a few years later when a classmate of mine taught our whole class how to crochet. Hi Chandi!! I heard about this giveaway on your Instagram and am so thankful for the opportunity to join once again! I started knitting and crocheting when I was in high school. My mother, who was an avid quilter, was taking a break from her normal quilting to knit a baby sweater for her first grandson and I was intrigued! Once I started, I couldn’t stop! That same year, she introduced me to crochet as well.

I taught myself to crochet. I have been crocheting for 20 years. I wanted to try knitting again. After watching many tutorials, I finished my first baby sweater for a friend.

Hello!
I pretty much learn by myself after i found out i was having a baby girl after 9 years and 3 boys! I had a high risk pregnacy and I crochet all the way until the day before I gave birth. I still cant believe the amount of work i made for my daughter. Unfortunately, one month after her birth, my oldest son passed away. Its been a rollercoaster of emotions in my life but, my faith and been able to sit and use my yarn to create beautiful things have been my therapy. For me crochet is a way to manage my emotions, it keeps me focuse and help me unwind and relax. The best of luck for everybody. Keep blessed!
First of all: Thank you for sharing all your wonderful with us!
If I ever come into a whole lot of money I would surely spend much of it at your “store”!

Hi, I’m Tereza and I first started crocheting when I have about 6 1\2 almost 7 years old from my mother’s aunt. They at the time came up with the idea to use this for punishment for anyone who misbehaved and when I first realized that was what I got in return I used it to my advantage because I feel in love with we’ve yarn and they had no clue, so at the time I remember that I would purposely act out to get to go to my moms aunt so I could keep practicing and they only found out about it when I was 25 when I had told my sister and she told them and she said that they couldn’t stop laughing and when they finally composed themselves they said no wonder she was the biggest brat around that time. I am now going to be 30 on February 16th and can look back and thank them for the punishment since it makes me look forward to many more years of yarn arts they include crochet, knitting, tatting, crotatt, and macrame to name a few. I learned about your giveaways browsing for crochet patterns on pintrest and I’m sure glad I did. Thanks for inspiring the minds and heart’s of so many people with your passion for yarn arts. ????

It was easy to follow along – so easy enough that I figured I should try crocheting as well. I like that even better because it’s faster for me! So far I have made three hats and also the cup koozie from you half double crochet video. My hats are a hit – I’m already getting requests from friends to please me them a hat. Kia Ora. I saw a pic on Pinterest and loved the colours of the yarn. I was taught to knit by my school teacher in HomeEc. Not successfully, then my nan took pity on me and showed me how to do it the right way. We knitted a bedspread together, and I am hoping to continue with this tradition, using this yarn to teach my daughter how to knit, and maybe knit a bedspread with her!
I found out about this give away on instagram but I also get your newsletter ☺

Hey Chandi! So, I just came across your blog a few days ago and it is fantastic! Okay, so…I was first taught to crochet by my father’s mother when I was a little girl, but never really stuck with it. Then, I tried to pick it up again twice in my life- once at 20 and then again around 24, but I just couldn’t “get it”. Then, I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, and chemo pretty much kicks my butt, so I lay around a lot. One day, while going through some bins looking for my art supplies, I came across a huuuge bag filled with skeins. I decided I’d try one last time, went and got some hooks, finally “got it”, and now I’m hooked! (baduptssss….no…I’m so sorry hahaha!) But seriously, I absolutely love it and cannot stop! I’m learning more and more every day and maaaaybe one day I’ll finally actually “get it” with knitting too. haha <3 Much love to you!
I found out through a friend but I already get your newsletter too.
I taught myself to crochet from online tutorials and taught myself basic knitting from a book a few yrs ago (not that I really knit).

How do you come up with so many patterns?
I remembered to check your website and saw the giveaway. ☺

I found out about your giveaway because my girlfriend’s dad posted the link to it on my wall, haha. My great-grandma taught my cousin and I how to chain and single crochet when we were 10. She gave me a hook, yarn, and an instruction book, and I taught myself the rest. Today’s her 99th birthday actually, so I know if I win the giveaway I’ll have to make her something with the yarn I receive 🙂
Saw your reminder on Facebook.
I honestly don’t remember who first taught me how to knit and crochet, but, I have taught myself most of what I know with a little (or lot) help from the Reader’s Digest Knitter’s Handbook by Montse Stanley.

Thank you for always answering any questions and being so helpful!

I’ve never won a giveaway for anything, and I’ve been wanting to make something nice for my husband and I’s upcoming anniversary, so my fingers are crossed!
I first learned to knit from my now-mother-in-law, who showed me the basics while I waited for my flight back to the UK (my husband and I are from different countries, we were long distance for a few years before I moved). Through her encouragement, I’ve progressed from basic stitches to larger projects – I can’t wait to find out what future projects lay in wait if I win the stash!
I saw your blog posting in my news feed and thought that wow that is some gorgeous yarn that would make a beautiful sherbet colored shawl and I need to find some. I learned top knit about a decade ago from a great bunch of Knit Wits, The Greater Shoals Area Knit Witsm at an annual knit out. Susan Hope, Catherine Schiesz were a couple of my teachers.
I found out about your give away from Facebook. I learned to crochet from my mom as a child and taught myself to knit while pregnant with my son.

Heard about the giveaway on facebook. I taught myself to knit from a book.
I learned about this site on FB. Your yarns look lovely! I started crocheting five years ago but seriously switched to knitting three years ago. I occasionally crochet potholders and dish rags but knit everything else. Trying to learn two socks at a time on one circular. Thanks for the giveaway!
I read about the giveaway on the email list! If I won I’d probably bump a few projects and less inspiring yarn down the project list, hahah!
(Oh, and my grammie taught me to knit. And sew, and do needlepoint, and cross stitch, and bake, and to make jelly/jam… If it’s a “womanly art” she taught me! But I had to learn to crochet on my own. ?)
excited for this give away, heard about it on pinterest! My sister and i learned to knit and crochet together earlier this year, and if i win i would love to make and gift a friend a baby blanket 🙂
I got an email and pinterest notice. So love your yarns and would love to win a give away. My Grandmother actually did a lot of knitting for us when we were kids but my mom did teach me how to cast on and knit when I was young also to crochet. We crocheted rugs from the leftover ends of material from the Munsingwear co. which lasted forever. I started knitting more while waiting for my daughter to be born. I have really self taught since then and also learned to spin. I wish there were more hours in a day to be able to get more things made. I did end up with my grandmothers knitting needles and lots of the old patterns which I cherish. I also crochet and have recently taught one of my sisters to crochet. Just love creating gifts for others and once in a while something for me. Thank You Chandi for your lovely yarns and the inspiration for life. Your are a Gem!
