I am really working hard to learn new techniques like some lace patterns without compromising the relaxing aspect of knitting. I would probably spend a day or so just getting to know them. Then I would sort by color strengths. After that, one or more will “move to the front” and I will work on them from there. I have several places I would like to see my work go.
Thanks,
Kathryn

I did both steps 1 & 2 as listed above.
I would love to do a fall sweater/cape for my one and only granddaughter, who is turning ONE in 2 weeks, to fit in with her 2 older brothers. I don’t know any other way to say it: I WANT TO WIN! Please pick me!! As I sit here the ideas roll through my mind – socks for my daughter?? a shawl for a birthday gift for a friend?? an afghan for a baby shower?? Purple and pinks? Oh that screams a shawl for my mom who just retired from a domestic violence shelter as a victim’s advocate and another for my brother-in-law’s wife who lost her mom to breast cancer a few months ago.
I love your yarn! If you have a random hank of Lavendar Sage laying around, please let me know. I got two hanks, made a scarf, a hat and hat some left over. For some reason known only to the crochet muse, I started a project I knew I wouldn’t have enough yarn to finish, but I had to do that pattern.
If you don’t have (and I’m not holding my breath) do you have anything that might match/blend/go with in an attractive way that you would recommend. It’s for the bottom rows of a shawl.
I love your yarn!
I’d love to make some scarves, cowls and scarves! Thanks for the offer!
I did it! I am entered! I fully believe that you can’t have enough yarn!!! So I need more lol

I’d love to have the yarn, and I’d use it in a very colorful sweater with lots of colors. I love color work and don’t mind it at all. Makes life interesting!

Would love to have these to make something special for a little girl( my grandbaby)!
I did steps 1 and 2. I don’t really know what I would do with the yarn, until I actually see it. I have been busy the last 3 months, knitting sweater vest for my husband. What will I do if I win? I’ll try learning something new by trying a knitting pattern I’ve never done before……I’ve never really done much knitting, usually I crochet, but I’ve developed “extreme, severe, degenerative arthritis (my doctor’s words)” at the base of my left thumb and it’s extremely painful to crochet now. I took a knitting class at the Parks & Recreation last fall to brush up on what little I knew and knitting doesn’t seem to hurt my hand as much. The colors look so scrumpcious that it looks like you could take a spoon and dig in!

Everything is the same color, so right now i’m working on a very colorful bicycle “cover” to leave chained somewhere when we leave, so the beauty of knitting can be passed on. Hiya! I’ve found this competition from a friend who posted it.. So Kudos to Katrina! <3
I've shared on Facebook and I've subscribed – so if I don't win the yarn, I still win because I get to find out about your yarns!
So what would I do with the yarns? Honestly? I've just started knitting, I know two stitches – knit and pearl, and combined makes a lovely scarf. I knit (or try to!) on the train, tube and DLR on the way to/home from work, and I don't know how to do anything fancy like making hats, or gloves, or pretty shawls. But I'd love the chance to make scarves.
Thank you 🙂
was already on the email list, shared with everyone…. I haven’t tried a cowl or shawl yet so I think I’ll make one of those for my mom for her birthday or Christmas… those are all of the colors she loves and wears. I think I’ll try my hand at adding beads too… another thing I haven’t tried yet. They are all so pretty I want to make something for myself so maybe there’s enuff for two. 😀
I did the 2 steps and I would love some new yarn to work on a scarf pattern. The fiber will be great too since I also spin. I have never heard of thrumming though.
I completed steps 1 and 2 and would love to win this. I have some baby gifts in mind for these fun, trendy colors!
I completed steps 1 and 2 and shared on facebook. I have started knitting again after quite a while so I am not sure. If I cannot find a knitting project, I will make a baby afghan/lap robe to share with my favorite pet rescue Power of the Paw to raise money for their cause. Thank you for the chance to win.
I am also excited about the roving. Spinning is the next skill I want to learn. Thanks again.
Would like to make a shawl or lap blanket
I have made afghans, baby blankets and hats, beanies, bags, slippers and toys for so many people as gifts. I think that with such beautiful yarn I might be inspired to make something for myself.
Done!
I would make something yummy for a little girl……
By the way – I completed steps 1 and 2…….:)
I did step 1 and 2. Thinking with these beautiful colors it might be time to try a pattern for me. Not often I make stuff for myself and after making several blankets for newborns and friends, I think it’s time to treat myself!

So awesome! I completed the steps! I would love the yarn to make scarves and hats as gifts!
did steps 1 and 2. If I win it, not sure what I will make. Usually I have to see it and hold it and play with it first before I decide how its going to end up. I’m obsessed with scarves, hats, and baby blankets lately, so we’ll see.
I make baby blankets for my students who are now having children. I am so blessed in that they still contact me and share the news and pictures and if in town the children themselves. I was not able to have children so my students became my kids and I love knitting things for their kids and posting the pictures up in my office.
I subscribed, shared on facebook and if I was to win the hatbox full of yarn, I would use it to make something for my dear husband. My mom made my Dad slippers and a sweater when I was a girl. I so want to bless my Husband in that way someday.
Linda

hmm… what would I do with a box of yarn? First? I’d probably drool, then I’d probably brag to all my friends on FB, before finding a pattern to make something just for me! (did I mention, I did #1 & #2?)
I have been meaning to do some felting – some brooches I think, so that’s where the roving would go. As far as the yarn goes, I always need to feel it before I know what to do with it – that always tells me what I want to do with yarn. But I did download some patterns to knit little stuffed animals lately so that would probably be the first choice for anything that is soft but strong enough to wear well. And I love animals in odd colours like pink and purple!
All done!
If I won this wool I would probably just lie in it and rub my face on it until my partner told me to stop being silly!
I love to may blankets for my Grand children! cc

I love making scarves and shawls with the yarn I buy. I love all of Chandi’s yarns!! I wish I could buy and buy and buy and buy…..
Step 1? Check! Step 2? Check! Step 3? Here we go: Last winter I tried to teach myself how to crochet, figuring it must be in my blood, as my grandmother used to always make little dresses and cardigans for me (and matching ones for my dolls). There is nothing quite like sitting curled up on the sofa, all cosy and warm on a dark winter’s evening, taking time out and working away on a project. *=”)
to make more knitted newborn hats, a hobby that l love coz it allows me to be as creative as l want to be
I would make more of the layettes for preemie babies at King Edward memorial Hospital, bringing the total so far to 250 sets…. and besides, June is my birthday month – and the tenth is the day…… and that is …. today!! Yay..
Done steps one and two. I’m still thinking about what I might do with it – maybe a scarf or something.
Completed steps 1 and 2. I would love to knit dolls clothes for my two granddaughters.
Completed the steps & would love some new yarn to make Christmas gifts for my 7 grandkids!
I have completed the steps. Lately I haven’t had the money to buy yarn. I have been wanting to make hats for the Yarn Store at Nob Hill’s ‘Hats for the Homeless’ collection they have. People knit all sorts of things, but for a quick gift, a hat is the best thing to make. If that doesn’t work, I plan of making hats for New Mexico’s Cuidando Los Ninos group that educates and provides services for homeless families. Thank you for the opportunity! Good luck ladies and (possible) gentlemen.
I would love to knit a sweater with the luxurious yarn! Also a beginning hand-spinner so the roving will be handy!!
I tried to tell you that I had done #1 and 2 but it wouldn’t let me so I’m telling you now and I would use it to crochet items for my church to raise money for the Women Active for Christ.
Thanks
Hi! I most assuredly did steps 1 and 2 and hope I do win!
I think I would like to use these yarns to make simple things like pot holders or maybe dishcloths – depending on type of yarn, of course! Thanks so much!
Did step one and two. Would love to make a flower baby blanket!

If I was to win… Hmm! What to make. First I would look then I would touch and smell the yarn. Scrunch it and hold it and love it. Oooh! This is on a par with eating chocolate. It’s while I do this that I will be able to visualise what I want to create from the sumptuous array contained in the hat box. Maybe all things gorgeous for little grands.
Steps one and two done! I’m teaching some WI ladies to crochet flowers next month, so I think I’d use this to help them. So glad I’ve discovered you!!
I have done both steps, I’m gutted I didn’t know this existed in May! I would have entered then too! I’m 25 and been knitting about 15 years! I currently knit dolls for my five year old daughter and I knit for the local hospitals for prem babies. Knitting baby hats are so easy and quick. I don’t know what I would do with these. Probably make some beautiful hats and booties to keep them warm but I am planning to knit myself a hot water bottle cover as I rarely knit myself anything and I think it’s about time I did.
Steps one & two done.
I would make matching scarfs for my kids and I
I’d be so happy if I could win this.

If I won I’d use the yarn to make lovely warm hats, gloves and scarves for poor children via Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. Many of these kids are orphans, victims of war, poverty and disease or live in sewers, and they have never received a Christmas gift. These boxes are sent to needy children abroad at Christmas time. See the “Operation Christmas Child” page on Facebook. Kind regards, Lena.

What a wonderful thing you are doing by sharing your beautiful yarns.
Joan
Free yarn sounds great to me. Over the last two years I’ve been taking a few knitting classes and am busy knitting for my bundle of joy due in July. With this yarn, I would love to make some cable hat and scarf sets for my mother, niece and daughter. Would there be enough for all three? Or maybe a lovely shawl for my mother? Hmmm, too many choices.
I would give this gorgeous yarn to my daughter who has been very busy making the most devine blankets for all her friends who are having babies. Due to the cost most of the blankets have been acrylic – it would be an absolute thrill to have beautiful wool.
I have completed steps 1 and 2.
Since I was forced into retirement I have been crocheting again. I would love to use this beautiful yarn to make hats and scarves for gifts.
I love your yarn:) its amazing to work with. The textures and colors are so vibrant. I love to make scarves and shawls with such amazing yarn.

I just love color, I am not sure what I would make first with the yarn. 🙂 but I am sure that it would be loved by someone.. thank you for another contest.. have a blessed day..
Depending on how much yardage is in that hat box, maybe a scarf, maybe a shawl. I doubt there is enough yardage for an afghan. I’m into entrelac right now so given the color combos, I could do a really nice scarf/shawl.
I’d probably make a shawl, the colors are so gorgeous together.
Steps one and two done. I would love to try and make a tunic with this beautiful yarn. I have a pattern, just hasn’t found the perfect yarn yet… Until now 🙂
Good luck to all and, as always, thanks for the opportunity.
All done Thank you Chandi… I think a pair of those lovely slipper/boots you showed us this week would be beautiful… I already have the pattern… 😉 <3 Bethel
I will be teaching some young ladies how to crochet. Many of them do not have the means to buy yarn, this yarn will definitely come in handy.
Yes, I did steps 1 and 2
In May I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. It crushed me. At the age of 35 I became a statistic (one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer). I had my left modified radical mastectomy two weeks ago and start chemo next week. With the chemo I say farewell to my hair. While the idea of not over heating from long hair this summer sounds nice, being bald does not.
If I win this contest, I will use the awesome hat box contents to make a variety of hats. These colors are great! Bright and cheerful. I will send photos as well if I win so you can see how happy you made someone in the knit/crochet world.
Thanks for a chance to win an awesome prize!

The possibilities are endless ……
If I were the lucky winner, I’d buy a pattern from Mad Mad Me & crank out some beautiful crochet items, and honestly, I’d probably keep them for myself. As for the roving, I’d use that with my new spinning wheel that my husband got me for Mother’s Day! (by the way–subscribed & shared!)

I completed steps 1 and 2
I like to play with the yarn and let it tell me what it wants to be! This yarn is beautiful and I would love to be selfish and make something just for me! (I never end up making things for myself) 🙂

I love natural fibres!!!! If I won, I would admire it for a spell and then I would share with my niece, Tracy. She only started knitting about 10 years ago versus my 40 years and she can out-knit me with her eyes closed. I figured out how she is able to knit such beautiful, outside the box creations. She just doesn’t know what is difficult or easy. She can knit and purl, so anything is possible. I, on the other hand, can be easily intimidated by difficult patterns. I think that if I win, I will be like Tracy, and try my hand at something really spectacular without any fear. p.s. I completed both the tasks required. With yarn love, Dawn

Crochet is a direct link to my mom, last year she had an aneurysm from which she never recovered she passed away this year in March. My Mom was a beautiful woman and very special and kind person. I really do not know when she found the time to crochet, knitting or doing other arts and crafts, she had 14 children! And well, as time went by after her cardiovascular accident, I started crocheting I guess it was a way to get in touch with her, she was always crocheting something… I am fortunate to have the blankets she crocheted for each one of my children even she made us covers for our beds! Wow, the more I read, check patterns knitted and/or crochet , about this art, the more I appreciate and respect this art. If I am lucky to win I would crochet a shawl (as the yarn seems to be the right kind for it), shawls and baby blankets were my mom’s favorites items to make. I have been making scarfs, headbands, flowers, crochet jewelry and although my forte is not knitting I have manage to make a couple of scarfs and a summer top! Thank you for this opportunity and good luck to everyone.
Kind regards,
Patricia

Hi Chandi,
I have completed steps 1 and 2. I want to win so that I can knit my husband a shawl preferably in orange or saffron.

In 2007 my son, Neal, and his two little boys, Devon, 7, and Ian, 3, were murdered. Neal’s wife, mother of the little boys, killed them in their beds. It took until January 2012 to finally make it to the other side of the legal proceeding with a sentence. Crochet is what has kept me sane, both in and out of court. I make blankets, shawls, baby sweaters, chemo caps and scarves, all for charity. I gets gifts of scraps from time to time, because I will use any remnant of any type for something. It would be wonderful to have some of your beautiful yarn to work with.
Steps 1 and 2 done! I’ve just learned how to spin, so I’d love to have more roving to work with. I still haven’t learned the best places to buy it yet. The yarn, I’m working 2 AAT toe up socks. Many of my family members will be getting pairs for Christmas. :->
Looks like some thinner yarn — maybe sock weight — that would be great — might make some Barbie clothes or a cowl, scarf or shawlette — im doing some things for a fundraiser too so depends on whats in the box!
Steps one and two complete. Will probably use my winning yarn to add to my Granny Square collection for a beautiful afghan I’m working on . Thanks!!!!
I have done steps one and two. I would love to make tiny crochet beanies/hats for the premature babies at neo natal intensive care at the Royal Women’s hospital in Brisbane Australia. FINISHED STEPS 1 AND 2 READY TO WIN.
Hi, I am a foster carer and care mainly for babies. Babies often come to us straight from hospital with nothing of their own, so we like to welcome them with something made especially for them. Sometimes I knit a soft toy, sometimes I knit a jumper or cardigan, sometimes a blanket. These handmade things go with the babies when they are adopted and show that they were loved and cared for by someone, even if not their birth mother. These colours look amazing and I could do so much with them.
Done! 🙂
Subscribed and shared 🙂
I would start my Christmas knitting if I won!
I have been a crocheter since I was 6 years old. I never had an interest in knitting until now. My 21 year old daughter knits and makes me the most beautiful socks ever. If I win I’ll share the yarn with her in exchange for her teaching me how to knit socks. 🙂

Were I to win carefully selected whole skeins, I would look at them for awhile and see what they’re screaming to become. Then I would hand make exquisite gifts that I would not normally have the funds with which to budget making homemade treasures. The dreaming and design and manufacture are all part of my creative process.
I LOVE YARN but have never gotten to work with any “good” yarn. Always things I find on sale. I make Hats and Scarves for everyone, my daughters schoolmates and premie babies, some for people who don’t have much. I just give them away so I don’t make anything. Just love to crochet. Thanks for the chance to win!!
did both….love this yarn….would love to win it
Luv your blog, Chandi – this is my first time here! Your enthusiasm is fantastic, and so are your yarns, etc. 😀 Thank you for the giveaway, I have done steps 1 & 2 to HOPEFULLY win!! I have yet to make a shawl, I really want to, these colors would be great.
Hello,
I have subscribed and shared on my facebook and also tweeted your competition. I would love to win this yarn! I taught myself to crochet just 6 months ago and I am absolutely hooked! I love making amigurami animals so I would find a lovely cuddly pattern to crochet for my 10 yr old daughter and use my free yard for this!
Thank you,
Amanda
I completed steps 1 and 2. I would continue to learn how to knit and crochet with these yarns. I am a beginner, but so keen to create as many wonderful items as possible! I can’t wait to become better, and I can only do that with more yarn! 🙂
Completed the steps. Love the pink and purple combo! I knit prayer shawls, so your love would combine with mine to bring healing energy to the person receiving the shawl.
Hugs!

My life has recently been derailed…for the second time. We found out that my husband who has been cancer free for the last year is now facing radiation tx, the cancer is back. I love to crochet anyway and I have recently purchased your Peacock yarn ( that is GORGEOUS). I had it with me at NIH and the nurses actually asked me where I got the yarn! One especially loved the long color changes ( making a scarf for a Xmas present) This wonderful man is so happy that I finally have the time to have a hobby and is my best critic. I love nothing more than to sit by his bed and crochet, your beautiful yarn would be the icing on the cake!
I have completed steps 1 and 2. I would use this scrumptious yarn to knit and crochet pretties for loved ones!

I just completed both very crucial steps, and if I win, I’ll be using the yarns in a comfort shawl for my mother-in-law, who just lost her parents to cancer, one month apart. It’s been a very emotionally difficult time, and I’ve been trying to make her something special to let her know that she’s surrounded by love, and in our thoughts. She’s a big fan of “feminine” colors like pink, which I have an astounding lack of in my personal stash, so this would give me everything that I need to give her something to wrap herself up in as she moves forward from her loss.
Ha! Most of my Christmas shopping will be done!
I think I have already done this, but I wouldn’t want to miss out, so this is making sure. I love Chandi’s yarn!! All gorgeous!! If I won, I would find the perfect pattern(s) and start knitting!! Probably a cowl first!!
Steps all done! If I won, I would probably have a heart attack! So I would need the yarn to make lots of pretty things while convalescing!
I have done all the steps. Should I win the basket I will be making some Christmas present snuggle blankets for a couple of friends of mine who just had new members of their families come into this world. The colours are fabulous for both boys and girls 🙂
I did both one and two.
I would make a shawl or scarves with it. Sometimes I can’t decide until I see and feel the yarn, then it inspires me.
Completed all steps. All yarn has to be touched, squeezed and enjoyed. Then it will talk to you and tell you what project it should become.
Did all steps………..will drool over the yarn before I decide what to make!
make some great gifts
I never win anything but I keep trying. Some day I’ll get some beautiful, gorgeous, soft yarn to make myself something. I’ve been knitting for others for years, it’s time I made a few things for ME!!

I completed steps one and two for entry.
It is hard to think about why I should win this contest when I see so many others like myself who love yarn and creating and have grandchildren they would like to make things for, who are deserving of such a gift. I must honestly say that I need to make items to sell to generate a little income. My husband and I are a bit financially challenged right now and having beautiful yarn to make beautiful items would help us tremendously.
Thank you so much for even considering this entry
All done =) If I win I would make a coxy warm winter shawl !
Did both step 1 and tweeted and I’d make my 21 month old daughter a sweater of some kind
I would use it to make an afghan for a wedding or baby gift.
The most recent ‘pattern of interest’ was found in a book titled Folk Shawls. These are challenging patterns, many of which I’m not yet experienced enough to make but I would use this yarn to make one of them that IS simple enough for me.
Thank you for offering this yarn giveaway once again. If I win this yarn, I will be making different styles of hats that I will be displaying in some of the summer festivals in Kentucky.
All done! I see some beautiful hats in that hat box.
The first two steps are completed and I look forward to the emails 🙂
If I win the yarn it will be crafted into a soft, cuddly loveable animal friend for a sick child.
All of the women in my family crochet and I finally taught myself (hooray for youtube!) since I am the only lefty in our line! After learning the basics, I learned to make amigurumi. I am now on the hunt for as much yarn as I can muster to create amigurumi animals for the sick kids in the children’s hospital in my home town.
I did both steps. I would love to make some really pretty scarves with these. I also have a friend who spins. Her mom is doing radiation and chemo and she could use the roving to make some nice yarn to knit her a chemo hat. Thank you for doing this giveaway-how fun!

This say a unique shawl to me 🙂
A shawl for myself…I started knitting a yr ago to get out of my depression, and I have yet to make sonething for moi!
I am thinking a color affection shawl would be the perfect fit for this yarn.
Both steps completed. I’d probably make cowl or shawl.
Did step one and facebooked….. I would love to win to get my needles into some of Kaffe Fassettes amazingly colourful and textured designs that I have in my knitting books
Have done both steps – would love to share the bounty!
Whip up something scrumptious!
I found I will be a Nana in February and the little one will need a handmade blanket for the entrance into the family. cant wait.!

I posted, sent email address & name. I’m going to make something for my new-to-be grandchild 🙂
Okay Chandi,
I’ve done steps 1 & 2 above. There are so many things on my bucket list, I wasn’t sure where I would start. Then last month I lost my nephew to a gun accident. Let me tell you grief beyond compare. And that’s when I thought that I could express my deepest sympathies through craft. So, I have chosen to make Healing Prayer Shawls for my sister and to my nephew’s new bride, now widow. I’ve rounded up the hooks and pattern, just need the wool.
Hope I’m lucky!
Hi, I completed both steps. The reason I’d like to win is to make a twin size blanket for my four-year old granddaughter who just got her big girl bed. Last weekend she was visiting and asked me specifically for a pink and purple blanket.
I did all the things you wanted me to do. I want to win this hat box so bad, i love the colors . I could knit so many beautiful things with this yarn for my two grandchildren and for myself and maybe for my aunt as well. so please pick me.

I am a crocheter, and I love making gifts for my friends and family. There is little else that brings me this much excitement, to start a project and finish it by having the joy to share it with someone else. Currently I am making a blanket to bring comfort to a family member who is going through chemo-therapy. And I am looking forward to making baby blankets so that my church is able to give them to children in need.
It is wonderful to be able to give my crochet gifts to those around me so that they are able to use them and enjoy them.

I have done steps 1 and 2 and would love to make things to add to my stash of things to sell!!!!!
Done both steps. I’m so ready to try knitting socks. And we have twin
granddaughters who are 6 for me to try something easy. And everything they have is purple or pink.
Your colors are amazing!
i would start making baby clothes for my first grandchild!!!
I’d love to win this yarn!!!! I have special projects in mind, and my hooks and needles await their chance to twirl about with such gorgeous yarns!!!!!!!! I have a special blanket I want to crochet for my best friend, and the purples would be perfect for that!!!! I’m imagining a baby blanket for a girl with the pinks!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀
Oh…. and I finished steps 1 and 2…. 😀
Hi!! I did both steps 1 and 2 and I would create something lovely with this Beautiful yarn!! 🙂
If I win this yarn I will give it to my daughter who is an amazing knitter and crocheter and all things fiber-related artist. She will graduate next year from Grand Valley State University with a BFA with an emphasis in scupture. Hopefully she will make at least one thing for me…
also I did steps 1 and 2.
hi chandi I am subscribed and have shared on fb and would knit a scarf for the winter. thankyou
I have done the steps. I would let the yarn whisper to me about what it wants to be. Touch, smell, sight are all important in birthing a creative project. I surely want to try spinning with the roving. I’ve wanted to learn since I was very young.
Thank you for sharing with us!
I did both steps 1 and 2

On a beyond tight budget this summer, with no extra for yarn purchases. I would love to try some of your beautiful yarn! Most of what I make are gifts for kids of friends, especially hats and flower hair clips. I’d love to have this yarn to make something really special for my own daughter’s 3rd birthday in August. I think maybe a sweater for the fall! Thanks for doing these giveaways, and making and sharing such beautiful yarn!
I have completed steps 1&2, and I’ll make whatever the yarn tells me it wants to be…stole hat mittens baby item who knows till you see the yarn.
Yes, I have done steps one and two.
This yarn is so gorgeous! I would give it to my Mum to knit photography props for me!
All steps done! I will give this yarn to my mother to make beautiful crafts with!
I just love Yarn/Wool, my friends think I am a freak. But I love buying it and mixing it in blankets, throws and bed spreads. The more you have the better combinations you can make. And it makes me so happy to give someone something very special that you have been working on and see their face just light up. If I win I will put it in a throw rug with many many other lovely colours.
I have done Steps 1 (and yes I would like to win), and 2. And as as far as what I would like to do with it….I have the coolest scarf pattern and would like to make scarf for my mom, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, sisters, and nieces (whew!) for Christmas!
*Step 1 and 2
*If i win this box of yarn i would like to start kitting some veryspecial items for my babygirl Alina Marie on the way. Thank You*
