A few random updates about my latest yarn dyeing and crocheting adventures!

•Above, you can see me on one of our rare, Alaskan sunny days, examining my self-striping sock yarn that I had dyed the day before. I plan on winding it into a ball today and plopping it onto my Ultimate Sweater Machine and seeing how the stripes turn out. Then I’ll probably rip it out to make socks with it, or list it in my etsy store.

•Secondly, above, you can see I’m considering dyeing some gradient sock yarn. That was edited on my iPhone, and is not actually truly gradient-dyed yarn, but I wanted to get some color options. I’m currently thinking up various ways of creating smooth gradient yarn, so more later on that.

crochet yellow and blue sunflower motifs

•Next up, you can see my sunflower crochet motifs are coming along nicely. I actually finished another blue round on the outside of one of them yesterday, so more pictures soon. Then I just have to decide how I’m going to join them into a receipt purse!

colorful felted flower beads

•And I was shopping at Joann’s yesterday and found these lovely felted goodies. I didn’t buy them, but they did get me in the felting mood. I think I’m wanting to create something that is a cross between a necklace and a scarf. Something slightly warm, but decorative. Ideal for fall and keeping on indoors. Hmmm… I’m thinking silver and charcoal gray flowers with beads.

•If you’re wondering how I create the little bullets, just hold down your ALT key and type in 0149. And it will produce a bullet. If you’re on a Mac, it will be different, but you can google it.

Have a happy day, happy crafting, happy randomness and all that!
