Something that I love? I love the sleepy faces on my girls in the morning. I love celebrating their accomplishments with them. My oldest just graduated from high school. My middle was promoted to her junior year and my youngest is excited to start her freshman year of high school. I love walks on the beach and seeing what treasures we can find. I love the quiet when I can spend sometime doing what I love. I love crochet and that my girls are picking it up from me, also. I love the smell outside after the rain.

I don’t have a lot of friends that are into knitting – but I am hoping to influence some of them with my lovely, mitts, hats, cowls, socks (yay), shawls and any other project that I manage to work into my busy schedule. Love knitting, love learning new techniques – still have to attempt entrelac and brioche – but they are both on my bucket list. Thank you for your earnst endeavours to provide your clients with a beautiful, quality product. Good luck to everyone who enters!

I find joy in being able to create – I try to do a bit every day. Some days, it really is JUST a bit – a row or two of knitting, a sketch, a brief poem-note. But this is the only practice that I’ve ever really fully integrated into my daily life, and it’s absolutely vital to how I go through my days, how I interact with others.

There is so much to love out there in the big world that it’s difficult to pick just one thing. Keeping it fiber related; I love the feel of soft, fluffy, squishable yarn. Having that tactile sensation is what will have me buying yarn I don’t need just because of the feel.

Something that brings me joy….the moments when I get to see that some of my hard effort in training my children to be good people has paid off. ‘Cause being a single parent is not easy by a long shot. Raising 2 boys to be men that aren’t self-absorbed, egotistical, and entitled – monumentally difficult. The days when I find myself crocheting furiously while listening to their bickering (because face it – you can’t monitor them 24/7 when they get older), I find a little stress relief. But the days when they manage to remember something I have been training them for years to do feels pretty darn good and gives me hope!

  112. Tracy Robb June 26, 2017 at 6:29 pm - Reply

I love your yarn. Unfortunately, because of financial difficulties, I am not able to buy ANY yarn at all this summer. I have one project that is halfway done but needs one more skein. I just might have to bribe one of my sons to buy it for me.

    Hi!

Something I love is making something that has every colour in it. I work in a store that sells sets of things – bath towels match floor mats match canvas prints match cushions match curtains, if you get my drift. I always find walking into a room made of all that stuff, matched perfectly to the shade, to feel sterile, no matter the colour used. Walking into a room and finding a, quite often handmade, thing that is colourful or mis-matched but so well used that you know it has sentimental value is one of my favourite things. I gravitate to those things, but only ever handle them with permission and car. They are special, after all.

Every year, on the 1st day of school, the students ask me if I am going to give the knitting class. At the end of the sessions they are so proud to show off their finished projects. Winning the give away, would be amazing! I could use this beautiful yarn with my students. They would be so thrilled! On another note, I love your website and blog! Bravo and keep up the amazing work! Catherine

My heart is filled with joy when my son is gracious without being prompted. Once we were playing at a gym and a younger boy went for the ball we were playing with. My son got to the ball first and started back to me. But then he stopped, and thought. He then turned and gave the little boy the ball. My son said, “I was done playing and he wanted the ball.”

It has to be sincere but something as simple as that color looks great on you, or what a pretty blouse. I know it makes me feel good when someone compliments me so I hope it makes someone else feel good if I do the same.

When I see people doing good things around me, with no expectation of reciprocation, it brings joy to my heart.
When a long day is over, and I can sit down and work on a blanket for my new nephew, or a hat for someone who has cancer, it brings joy to my heart.

Hmmm, something that brings joy to my heart. Well, that would be something that can bring joy other hearts. For example, this yarn, if I were to win, I could use to make things that others could enjoy. Or, something I could sell to raise money. Last year I was able to use my skills at crochet (and now knitting thanks to you Chandi ?) to help a charity I feel is making the wrong in this world right. I think we all can find something that both brings joy to ourselves, but also to others ☺️
