What makes me happy? Seeing my kids on stage, both kids are accepted into college, my oldest son graduates from HS next month, and OMG that blue and yellow yarn in this contest.

What is the blue and yellow yarn? Can I buy a skein?

One thing that makes me happy is trying something new. I took a painting class the other day and I loved it. I like to travel and see new places, try new foods, learn a new craft, or even learn a new knitting stitch. It’s all fun.
I check out your website almost every day just to look at the new colors even if I can’t afford it.

Life makes me happy! I enjoy the small pleasures…laughing babies, warm Spring breezes, snuggles with my puppy, laying out in the yard on a warm Spring day crocheting in the sun, surprising people with crocheted gifts, cold ice cream on a hot day, the first snow. There’s an abundance of beautiful things in this life that are often missed by the hustle and bustle!

Your yarns are truly beautiful. I am a relatively new knitter with a tendency towards making sweaters and hats. I have sewn all of my life so I have a developed sense of construction and design. As a Texan, I am still learning which yarns work best for my climate as well as my hands. I love the hand of fibers that are soft and squishy! Knitting and crocheting make me happy by blocking out the daily grind and allowing me to concentrate on something truly beautiful and giving me a sense of accomplishment at the same time.

What makes me happy is when my kids (10, 13 & 17) comes to me with special requests for hats and othet knitted goods. We live in Sweden, where ats and mittens are very important. They know I’m a newbie and they know how much I love knitting, when I can’t do much else due to my EDS, and they happily wear the things I creat for them. Being chronically ill means doing everything on a budjet, knitting included, and I have two boys fighting over the ugliest hat imaginable. But they both love it.

What makes me happy in life? Waking up to another day where my niece Leiryn is here, happy and thriving. She’s a walking miracle. She was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, a deadly childhood cancer, seven years ago. After extensive surgery and chemo, they said she had six months to live. That was six years ago. The cancer is everywhere, but she has no symptoms. She’s happy, and can more than keep up with her three brothers. The doctors are left scratching their heads.
Whenever I’m feeling down I think of Leiryn, and realize just how lucky our family is, and how one small child can make life sweeter.

Honestly the first thing that comes to mind is yarn. Yarn genuinely makes me happy and sometimes I just sit and look at it, as half my stash is mounted on pegs attached to a board on my wall. It’s like having a gorgeous work of art on the wall that I can make things with!

Also, looking at sock pattern books, because of the improbable but captivating poses and adorable outfits of the sock models.

Also the funny things my daughter says.

    Also cooking healthy food.

Also laughing and walking for miles with good music in my headphones.

Also finding happiness in things I didn’t previously enjoy makes me happy.

Also did I mention yarn? Yarn makes me happy and this giveaway makes me happy. Whoever wins is gonna be happy for days and days.

Even though I have crocheted for about 40 years, until 2 years ago everything I did was really basic. Now I am learning new stitches, patterns and even started my own designs. I have worked with a few different yarns, but crocheting for charity limits yarns I can use. To win this would allow me to practice making new things, perhaps even for myself. I really want to make some socks for myself.

I have to say fiber arts make me happy. I’ve delved into knitting, dyeing, spinning, and a little crochet. It is a huge stress reliever for me and it’s cheaper than therapy (but barely ?.) As a stay at home homeschooling mom who is around kids 24/7, it also preserves my self identity and gives me a sense of personal satisfaction when I complete projects. It has also opened me up to the fiber arts community where I have met some awesome people and gained new friendships.

Not to be cliche, but crochet REALLY makes me happy because my mama taught me just a year and a half ago, shortly after we lost my dad. She’s knitted and crocheted for years and I’d never taken an interest. But we both need something healing and her teaching while I learned was the perfect thing at just the right time! Thanks for the giveaway, Chandi!

Anyone can say I love you. What makes me happy is when someone takes the time and effort to go out of their way and do something special and totally expected to show you that you truly matter to them and that their “I love you” isn’t just three random words in the English language.

As a disabled person crocheting gives me a sense of accomplishment. I learned when I was young then stopped for 25 year. Last fall I picked it up again and realized how much I used to love making things. It gives me something to do with my hands while I watch shows and in the end I have something beautiful that I made. Very rewarding hobby to me. Just wish I could have a never ending supply of yarn as I often am without and use the same ball just to practice with.

The 1 thing that makes me happy besides my love for my family is my love for crocheting. I am disabled & confined to my chair almost daily & am so thankful that I taught myself to crochet through watching YouTube videos. Crocheting gifts for others makes me feel like I have a purpose & keeps me from going stir crazy! I love that I can make others happy by making them hand-made gifts just because, no special occasion involved. The only down fall is I am now a yarn addict! LOL Not a good thing when you are on a limited income but thank goodness for SALES! LOL πŸ˜€

One thing that makes me happy in life is yarn. I love different fibers. I love shopping for something new that is different from anything I’ve tried before. I love to look at it and feel it and let it tell me what it wants to be. A close second thing that makes me happy is learning a new skill. If it’s knitting, I’ll try something I’ve never done just to learn how to do it and know that I can do it. I love to learn. Not just knitting related..my guitar, my music, my crafts, my life…new means new experience, which means happy πŸ™‚

The number one thing that makes me happy…..is gratitude. I suffer from depression and have had some tough times. But on medication, and remembering to spend a little time each day to be grateful has made a world of difference.

I enjoy yarn, I adore my kids most of the time, I have a rewarding if demanding job. I couldn’t be happy until I could truly get the gratitude thing.

What currently makes me happy may be a little different than most. I’m a week post-op from multiple surgeries on my left hand. I haven’t been able to really crochet much in almost 6 months and now I’m looking forward to everything healing correctly and getting back to what I love to do. So what makes me happy? Is knowing that I am on track to getting back my happy. (Surgeries: 2 trigger fingers, carpal tunnel release, cubital tunnel release and pronator teres release. All done at the same time.)

Creating makes me happy. Painting, drawing, baking, needle arts, beading, but most of all YARN. In the last 50 years, very few days have done by that didn’t include yarn and a crochet hook. And having 12 grandchildren to make things for makes me blessed!

Gorgeous, Gorgeous yarns. I am going to have to get some soon. My daughter texted me the site with the June Alexandrite yarn that she found on Facebook. I love to knit and sew, usually the item will be for someone else. I haven’t made anything for myself in years. And I am going to be a grandma for the first time in September so I know I will be making things for him for sometime to come.
