So many pretties in my favorite color, purple! Self taught kniiter since Nov. 2017 still working on first bright yellow acrylic scarf! I had no idea there were so many types of fibers and techniques..impatiently waiting 9 months to retire and really start learning?

What beautiful yarn! I have been knitting on and off since I was in high school..I knit with a group of ladies in a second hand store once or twice a week. When we knit, politics and religious backgrounds are put to the side unless it is part of the story that is told. I love the age differences, the life stories and the love of these friendships that are woven into the different patterns we work on. The oldest member is in her 90’s the youngest is ten. When my husband had a heart attack a few years ago, there was a beautiful shawl that was given to him. We then pasted in on to his mom who used it on a daily basis to keep warm.

I can tell you love yarn and what your doing Chandi. It shows!

Purple is a favorite color as it represents the fight against Alzheimer’s (the devastating disease which took my father in law). At this moment I am working on Fiddlehead Mittens and the Meandering Vines Shawl.

I’m working on a new fingerless mittens pattern in a bold red. The gauge has me stuck at the moment though… lol

My creative project right now is focused on making various flyers and images for my (newish) business adventure – teaching knit and crochet.to new (mostly young) students. Even in teaching, I have to come up with a variety of ways to help the children imagine the way the yarn interacts with itself, or the hook/needles, not to mention come up with fun activities that will keep them engaged! Wearing art that I hand-made myself (even if I’m not designing, I do a pretty good job at making!) and inspiring young people to do the same — it leaves us all feeling pretty good inside! <3

I’m currently getting all my yarn caked up for an epic scarf, using 18 shades of hand-dyed yarn by the same indie dyer! The pattern is based on a floral square motif with a really lovely border. Can’t wait to see how it looks in all that yummy multi-tonal yarn!

Well, currently on the needles is a shawl I’ve been working on for months on end. I just finished repairing/reknitting the neckline of two dog sweaters I made for our labrador, Gabby. She loves her sweaters. I’m going to start one for her in neon red.

I’m currently working on a crocheted floor length dress for my oldest friend’s wedding. I’m a bridesmaid and I didn’t like any of the options available in the color she wants us to wear so I got her permission to make my own. I’m finally working on the skirt, so I’m in the home stretch. Wedding is in March so I’m confident I’ll get it done with time to spare.

I had a heart attack October 4th if 2017 started crocheting to keep my mind busy and of course it definitely helped my anxiety and not smoking I love crocheting it’s my way of life now and I’m not giving it up I just thought of learning how to knit and I’ve only learned how to cast on I’ve done many many many projects but now my project that I’m working on is a plastic bag holder hehehe I love small projects. At the moment I’m between projects. I just finished a baby afghan and hats for a friend who had her baby more then 3 months early on Christmas Eve day. I also made her a pair of booties using leftover dewy dk yarn from the Sona hat I made for myself! I think I want to make myself a cardigan but the question is which one with which type of squishy lovely yarn! So many tough decisions! Maybe I’ll just cuddle with my yarn instead.

Also, I have on the needles a kimono sweater from lightweight yarn, turning an eyelet pattern into fancier lace by using a different weight!
I’ve also stalled on a chunky weight cocoon sweater. It uses a pine cone stitching pattern, but where the sleeves divide are giving me fits!

I am currently working on a variety of items, for a large group of people who are basically ‘in need’. A charity organization provides transportation for people ranging from infants to seniors, We all meet at a lovely location, for distributing goods, providing education about various resources, and healthcare needs. Some basic healthcare screening is also provided. Some individuals are financially struggling, some are living with disabilities or fighting a variety of medical conditions. The individuals are so kind, and grateful. The children that come are so well behaved and I think they sense the ‘vibe’ of giving and hope. Lots of smiles and hugs go around. What a great way to start out the New Year!

I am trying to finish up a cowl this week and have a scarf, a shawl, baby blanket, baby toy, and a chunky blanket on the needles. Love your yarn! I’m currently working on a chevron scarf using some of your yarn that my enabler hubby bought for me as a surprise. It is so soft & yummy, some of the merino/tensel blend. I’m also working on a pair of socks using some of my stash of sock yarn. While I love all yarn (except for extra bulky) I must confess that my true yarn love is sock yarn.

The purples are gorgeous! I am working on a school colors afghan for my granddaughter, hat and scarf for our choir director, and a slouchy for one of the sopranos, lol!

Once I find the perfect pattern, I’ll be casting on the “Black Widow” alpaca/silk yarn. It will be something cozy and comforting, a cowl perhaps; because it reminds me of the night I was evacuated during the Northern California firestorm in October. The colors remind me of the thick black smoke and bright red flames in the darkness of night; but somehow I find this yarn comforting. My neighborhood was spared so it reminds me of the courageous first responders and the love, compassion, and generosity of the people around us. It tells me how lucky I am to have been spared, and reminds me of the of the devastation for so many.

On a happier note, I made my holiday shawl out of “Holly and Ivy” sock yarn and absolutely love it! I have received so many compliments whenever I wear it.

I love purple! I’m just about to finish a purple-pink cardigan. It just needs buttons and the pocket linings sewn down.
