Hello, my dazzling diamond! Today, I have an adorable, sparkly, crochet tank top pattern for you that is just perfect for Spring and Summer! Keep reading to learn all about it!

Malhar was designed by Jessica Khochare. When asked about her debut pattern for Expression Fiber Arts, Jessica said, “‘Malhar,’ a classical Indian Raga, which is associated with torrential rain and is said to bring rains, is traditionally played in monsoon or pre-monsoon. The Malhar Tank pattern is inspired by this raga and the way rain droplets do not fall straight down, but are moved around by the wind, falling with same horizontal speed as the wind and appearing as if they’re falling at an angle. This versatile and stylish tank showcases a V neckline, playful side slits, and a slightly open upper back. The tank is made up of two panels, front and back, created using bottom-up construction and both displaying overlay design of rain falling laterally.”

This is an Advanced level pattern that is suitable for crocheters who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects especially garments, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include post stitches, garment shaping, and construction.

Malhar is crocheted with our beloved Sparkle DK, which is a dazzling yarn with a buttery soft feel! It’s wonderful for projects of all types! You could make cozy blankets, glimmering scarves, glittering shawls or sweaters, mittens, and more! I think the beautiful sparkles resemble stars in the night sky, and they give any project that extra bit of wow! Made with 60% Superwash Merino Wool, 26% Nylon, 10% Baby Alpaca, and 4% Metallic (Polyester), each skein includes 275 yds/251 m.

We used our stunning Inky Indigo Sparkle DK to make the sample shown here. The pattern is offered in sizes XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL), which correspond to finished bust sizes of 30″ (34″, 38″, 42″, 46″) (50″, 54″, 58″, 62″) / 81 (91, 102, 112, 122) (132, 142, 152, 162) cm. All sizes are designed to be worn with with 2 – 3” (5 – 8 cm) of positive ease.

You will need three to six skeins of Sparkle DK yarn, based on the size you select. Additional yardage information is included in the pattern. The sample shown here is a size Small, modeled on 34” (86 cm) bust with 2” (5 cm) positive ease.
