Hi Chandi and team!
Crafting gives me “ME TIME,” away from the crazy family life. Gives me time to create something with love and attention even though our kitten loves to interact with the yarn!
Gives time to use up my creative skills and share the joy!
I love working with all the gorgeous color possibilities
I am speechless…the yarn quality..the projects… for someone who has always bought acrylic yarn… not knowing what real quality is…. what a difference….just wow…
I love how soothing it is
Crochet is relaxing and helps me with my anxiety. Project this month I would love to make shawls..
Crafting gives me the satisfaction and happiness that I have the ability to create things.
Well, crafting, I love the entire process. The inspiration obtained from multiple people, places and observing creativity in motion. The gathering of my ideas, skills, and the gifts of abilities often clearly from thee creator. Well, then the enjoyment of planning, gathering and anticipation. Yay, the satisfaction of completion of your creative interpretation!!🩷
I love the fact that i can choose my pace when crafting! If I’ve had a stressful day, i can work on something repetitive and simple, like a cardigan. If i need a little more stimulation, then i can make an Amigurumi!
I love the creative part of crafting. Choosing the colors, choosing a pattern or creating one, then sitting down and making magic happen.
Crafting is much-needed “me” time. It allows me to relax, tap into my creative side, and still gives me opportunity to learn something new & I get a beautiful product at the end!
I love the creative release of crafting and feeling fulfilled.
What I love about crafting is the ability to create something amazing or useful from raw materials. I love seeing scrap fabric transform into quilts, or a hank of yarn morph into the most comfortable scarf that is fashionable and warm. Crafting is a magical experience.
I love the peacefulness of creating something new and the sense of accomplishment when it’s completed!
It is like meditation!
I love how relaxing it is and the beautiful creations that are made and how it is a link back to our heritage of traditional design of handcrafted and artisans that would not just provide clothing for thier families, but also design intricate lace that was passed down from generations. And families would share patterns by exchanging the articles or motifs. Motifs could be crocheted into beautiful Irish lace that would adorn the wedding gowns of brides or other festive occasions. The same kinds of traditions follow knitting with the fair isle patterns and many other designs and the history of each as well as the beautiful meanings such as the blessings that go with the pineapple design. These all bring such richness and love to crafting that goes beyond the work and is generations of love passed down. So many of the crafts have this wonderful rich history and ties to each culture that makes it so beautiful and wonderful and special. I love that we live in a time we’re we a blessed to be able to share in such a rich amount of knowledge of the skills and history so these skills are kept alive. Every time I crochet or knit or embroider or whatever craft I do. I feel that connections to the past and when I have taught others these skills, it’s continuing the legacy of so many before me. For that I feel very blessed to be a small part.
I feel accomplished when I create something and I like giving a handmade gift to family for the holidays because it feels more intimate than store bought gifts.
I love the introspective time focussing on creativity! It is always an adventure to discover what shows up in my creativity. Crafting takes me out of myself and gives me a break from all that troubles me or my obsessive thinking about not-so-helpful things.
I love being able to create something beautiful. It is relaxing and sometimes challenging. I love giving a gift that I have created, and knowing it someone will love and cherish it because I created it just for them.
I love crocheting. It soothes me and brings me peace.
Keeping my hands busy allows my mind to calm.
I love seeing beautiful things come to life from 1 hook or 2 sticks.
I love everyrhing about crafting! The colors. The textures. The creations. The time alone to just create beautiful things!
I love crafting. I like to see what I’m making coming alive. See how I can make it pretty or colorful. See how others like it. Or even find another use for it. It gives me satisfaction & sense of purpose it also Keeps me focused.
I love especially knitting and crocheting, I like the meditative part of them.
I mostly crochet, but it helps me wind down after a long day. And keeps my hands busy on long trips! Also I love giving handmade gifts, it always feel so much more special when you can say I made this for you! And I’m slowly learning to knit, even though I really only like knitting 1×1 rib beanies 😂
Hi Chandi and all The Team, I love crafting and creating something new from the ‘raw’ materials, the possibilities are endless and even when you try to repeat the process you can come up with something even better. It also gives me time to myself, quiet mindful (or mindless) time.
Chandi this is gorgeous! I love crafting because it is so calming, and also purposeful. At the end you have something wonderful to cherish that shows your hard work, and since I gift most of my projects I like to think that people hold on to my crafts because they mean so much more than just something bought. The love and time and thought that goes into each of my crafts is both self-love and love for others. It brings me such peace and joy. Each time I start a new project, it’s like opening a gift on Christmas morning. I can’t wait to see how it will turn out!
Crafting keeps my eyes, mind and heart open to all the beauty in the world.
It’s creative, relaxing, fun, and at the end, you have a useful item, for yourself or someone else.
Love these colors!!!
Crafting is my wind down time, I get to relax & make something amazing at the same time.
Hi Chandi and Team,
Crafting has been a life changer for me. I didn’t start crotcheting until November 2023. 3 months, 1 afghan, dog sweater and mid-shawl later, I realized I had stumbled on a solution for the crippling PTSD and anxiety that I have been suffering with for over a decade. My head and heart gets quiet and clear when I crotchet. I can breathe again. Crafting gives me the opportunity to transform that nervous energy into art. Now gratitude and sheer delight flows from my heart and fingers into my creations, and from that jumping off point, I am able to interact with the world and offer it more than I formerly could. Dreaming of rainbow hues, and fabrics and threads and imagining all the lovely, fun things I could make is new but so very welcome and so worth it! I’m a whole new person!
Thank you,
MJ
Love these colors!!!
Crafting is my wind down time, I get to relax & make something amazing at the same time…..
Doesn’t matter what I’m making
I love creating something from basically a strand! Recently learned to knit (crochet 50+ yrs) & like the challenge of learning new stitches/techniques. Crochet is dedicated to my memory since learned as child, so knitting keeps the brain matter sharp.
Crafting means being a “maker”. There is a certain feeling you get when you are working on a project. I believe this feeling is a positive influence on your mental status. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment, it feeds your creative side, it encourages thought patterns in the process of planning project that aren’t normally used. And the satisfaction of a completed project is also very beneficial, and if you made the crafted item for somebody else, you also get another bonus when they show their gratitude and their love of the item that you just created. Plus I detest idle hands, specifically my own! Why not craft things of beauty?
Life is a journey and mine started with tatting and has evolved into yarn stashes everywhere! I love to search for the perfect colors for every project! The squishier the better! Feeling blessed!
A beautiful site, from a beautiful creator. Thanks Chandi for the beautiful pictures, patterns and uplifting words.
I like being able to make something that others will enjoy.
Your yarn is always beautiful and I love the patterns you share. Your thoughtful and cheerful countenance leave me feeling happy! Knitting and crocheting are my super powers.
The peace it brings
I love crafting as a way to relax and creating something wonderful. 🥰
Crafting is a way to have me time, calm down a bit & become centered. Itvhas helped me through so many of life’s stresses.
Being able to develop my creativity
Hi Chandi, I love to craft because it gives me a purpose. I feel most useful when I can make something for someone that they are not able to make for themselves. Especially when it’s something that won’t be found in a store.
Hi Chandi and the rest of the EFA team! Thank you for another terrific giveaway! I love crafting because there is joy in creating, in taking some items and transforming them into something different – often greater than the sum of the parts.
Hi Chandi.
Your yarn is gorgeous. I can’t wait to get my hands on some and just squish it!
I love crafting, because it’s meditation for me. I’m not scrolling on my phone; i’m in the moment and doing something productive with my hands. I love to gift my knits to others. It makes me so happy to create something with someone I love in mind
Crafting keeps me peaceful! I love your patterns and videos so much. Would love to try your yarn!
I love how much my family, especially my nephews, love the items I make them.
I love being able to make something with my own hands. It’s so rewarding to be able to turn a ball of yarn into a hat or a sweater.
My crafting keeps me calm. It’s also something I can share with others. That’s what I love.
Best part about crafting, is stepping back after you complete a project and be like “I did that”,
Second best part is learning new techniques, being challenges and able to conquer those challenges, it feels rewarding. Plus while knitting/crocheting, I can get lost in my own little world… counting.
Love the colors, makes me think of berry medley.
The best thing about crafting is it is as unique as personal taste and ability are. Although I am unable to make crafts with glue guns, etc, my knitting projects have almost always revealed happy results. I love making gifts for expectant family members and my mother (90) who sits and reads most of the time. Such a variety of gifts to choose from.
Crafting is knitting before going to sleep. I make chemo hats, and it is so soothing!
Hello! I love that crafting allows me to be me without judgement from anyone else.
Being able to do a lot of different things when I’m in the mood for variety, while being able to make garments just the way I want them to be — it works both for my ADHD need for variety and hyperfocus
Crafting relaxes me and gives me a creative outlet!
My favorite thing about crafting is brainstorming an idea, figuring out how to make it a reality, and then getting to see it come to fruition. Knitting and crocheting and sewing are also all very relaxing to me.
I love being able to do things with my hands and make beautiful things for myself and those I love.
Love the quite time I get from crafting. It’s brings me so much joy 😊
Crafting is so fun and it’s really amazing to sit back and see how projects turn out. Crafting is relaxing to me in so many ways and it also gives me endless opportunities to share and teach with my Littles who love the things we make together and learning to make something new!
I love that it soothes my overactive thoughts, fills my need for movement, and I usually end up with something beautiful.
I LOVE working with the beautiful materials and seeing the end result. Lovely beads, soft and colorful yarn. Pretty patterns. It ALL warms my heart.
Hello hello!
I love how relaxing crocheting is, there’s nothing better than sitting down with a new project and a good audiobook. 🙂
I love crafting. I love her tools and the endless colors of yarns I can use for my crochet projects. It always makes your work unique.
I love being able to sit still and concentrate.
I’ve always got to do something with my hands, and crafting brings me joy. I knit, do pine needle baskets, and garden. I hope I never get arthritis (I’m 69). Thanks for this opportunity!
My crafting grounds me and provides me with peaceful moments (most of the time!) It’s part of who I am. As always, I look forward to what you have planned for the month.
Crafting, most especially knitting, gives me a focus for my thoughts that allows me to step away from the worries of work and family life. It relaxes me before I go to bed at night and provides a creative outlet which gives me great joy.
Toujours de magnifiques photos et couleurs bravo
I love crafting whatever I can get my hands on! I find I have the most fun working with whatever is available to me. It challenges me, and I love seeing the craft unfold in front of me. I never know what the end result is but sometimes it is better than I could have ever imagined!
Hi Chandi
The best part about crafting for me is the calming feeling that comes over me and the satisfaction of a beautiful creation when it’s all complete 🥰
The best part about crafting for me is making something that didn’t exist before. Like, I have yarn and some paper with directions and at the end of it I have a scarf or wrap that didn’t exist in the world before I put them together.
Planning on making shawls. I got free gorgeous, adorable patterns from you chandi, just need to get the yarn, hopefully I can win this. Good luck for everyone.
What do I love about crafting? What’s not to love? I love learning how to make something myself. I love the satisfaction of having made it myself. I love the expertise that I gain even when I make tear-inducing mistakes. I love the pride my kids have shown in telling someone “my mom made it for me”, and I love that when my son was little he literally thought “you can make anything!”. <3
I enjoy knitting and crocheting. I also love yarn! Your colors are always so beautiful and amazing! The inspiration you use for the colorways are fascinating.
I love the time I take to enjoy my crafting. Creating wearable items from natural fibers is a passion and relaxing experience for me.
I am passionate about knitting! I love everything about it. I am not so much about the project, although I love beautiful patterns. But it’s much more about the process and the fibers Thank you to adding to the wonderful experiences!
I am passionate about knitting! I love everything about it. I am not so much about the project, although I love beautiful patterns. But it’s much more about the process and the fibers Thank you to adding to the wonderful experiences!
As always, a beautiful giveaway. Thank you so much for your generosity!!
Crafting calms my mind and brings me peace.
I think the joy of creating must have been reinforced when I was very small and I’ve been reaping the joy of it ever since. I also love that there’s playfulness, color, calm, thoughtfulness, reflection, and a sense of progress involved in every project.
What’s not to love?! it helps you unwind & you create art from nothing ( well not exactly nothing .. the yarns from EFA are wonderful !)
Crafting helps keep me calm; I almost always have a bit of yarn within reach, ready to be stroked!
Creating things brings a satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment that I don’t get doing anything else. It improves my mood and inspires me to keep trying new things.
I love crafting because it’s meditative and I get to make something fun for myself or someone else! It helps me relax and destress at the end of the day.
I love having a creative outlet that ends in something wearable etc. And I’ve started using it as my meditative time.
The best thing is the piece of mind it gives me. Also I love that I can just relax but still produce something for myself or my loved ones that are unique and according to ones preference.
I love crafting because it helps keep my hands busy along with my mind. Beautiful items are a result of the exercise in crafting. Sometimes those beautiful things find a home with friends that appreciate all the hard work that goes into the making of such things. Plus it gives me the “me time” I’m desperately needing all the time.
I enjoy making useful things. And using my hands. My mom had a disease that is in the Lupus category it’s called Sclraderma(sp?) It makes your body to harden, her hands were crippled and she was a PE teacher then a biology teacher for 7th grade students. She LOVED her job. And would just love to dig in the earth with her hands to plant 🪴 or just to feel the soil. It brought her peace. When she could not do those things any longer it hurt her. And I witnessed her do down and down. So I try to do thoes things she could not do. She was the best and taught me everything. That’s why I love crafting!! Got it from my Momma!! Love you 😍
What I love about crafting is that I’m able to take basically string and two sticks, and create something. Especially when it’s something wearable, because I enjoy making things for others.
I love how crafting lets you make tangible things out of the fun you had!
Spending time with my craft wheter it be knitting or crocheting, have always been an important emotional outlet for me, bringing me peace & and the moment to just be me. It’s the beautiful gift my grandmother gave to me and till this day keeps on giving as I share it with friends & my family members both the craft itself and wearable and sweet things.
I think I love crafting, which includes crocheting, quilting, beading, and embroidery, because there is a satisfaction in completing a project and it is even more satisfying giving a handmade gift to someone you love. The challenge of learning new stitches, skills and new crafts (knitting is on my list!) is so fulfilling.
I love making things for my home, myself and for others. Crafts, particularly crochet let’s me do that!
Knitting and crocheting helps me to quiet my mind. I love to watch how a beautiful hank of yarn slowly becomes a beautiful work of art! It doesn’t matter if it’s a blanket, a pair of socks or some other project, it’s all magical!
Crafting is a way to give a piece of myself to another person that I value. Personally, I can get lost in the yarn, the color and texture; I can stitch myself into my own little perfect world one project at a time. It’s comforting and warm and nothing replaces the feeling of creating something beautiful. Thank you for the patterns and the fine yarns.
I love seeing what I got stuck in my head come to life. The challenge to learn a new stich. Or to make someone something they asked for. And to just see the smile on there face when they get it. It’s just relaxing and enjoyable.
I love the peacefulness of craft time!
For me crafting is a much needed creative outlet. I love playing with color and texture and I always have more ideas.
Hi Chandi!!! I love how I can do whatever I want with crafting and end up with something amazing at the end!!
It’s a great way to relax (most of the time) and it keeps my arthritic fingers nimble and my synapses firing.
The best part of crafting is watching how it grows and develops into something that can be used. Can be challenging and frustrating at times, but the end result is always worth it.
I love the feel of the yarn, the colors, the tradition and making something beautiful to wear.
Crafting for me is a relaxing way to end my busy days. And it makes me really happy to try new things.
I love the whole process of spinning yarn and crochet it into something useful💕
I love crafting because it’s a good way to redeem otherwise wasted time, riding in the car/watching TV/waiting rooms/etc and end up with something beautiful. And it’s a way to add color and texture and beauty to the everyday.
Crafting time is relaxing time. Can just sit and knit and enjoy as I as watch my project grow and become socks or a sweater or maybe hats and mitts.
Crafting is relaxing and, create art with my yarn
For me, crafting has always been about learning new things and sharing the experience with friends. As I get older, I need to keep busy and I need to keep my brain active — crafting is the perfect answer. I also get a great joy from “petting” my beautiful yarn stash, especially my stash of Oasis Camel Silk!
I love the vibrational energy that comes with crafting and creating. My mind clears and my hands just start moving to make beautiful things. Ahhh, it’s so peaceful.
Hi Chandi, I knit and crochet. What I like the most to craft are babies and children garments.
Crafting is creative and gives me a chance to learn new techniques. Even if you are following a pattern your yarn choice will make it unique. And I end up with something I can use and enjoy.
I love that crafting help me feel productive while also being able to have fun, and looking and feeling yarn makes me happy
I love experimenting with new materials and getting better with familiar ones. I love the way working on a project absorbs me, and the calm that brings. I love seeing the result!
What I love about crafting is the feeling that I can make something by bringing things together. It almost feels like making something out of nothing. In my mind it feels like a super power😝
Crafting is play time that allows me to use fibers and fabrics to create projects. Those projects can then be used to decorate my home or gifted to people I love.
Crafting takes me to a different place…outside of the chaos of the world and allows me to express myself in a different way
I was introduced to the art of knitting and crocheting by my mom when I was around six years old. I am now a 69 years old retired professor and these arts have been my therapy ever since. It is always peaceful, fun and rewarding. I just love it!
Crafting calms me and centers me. It puts me in a peaceful head space.
I love crafting because it keeps me sane and gives me an outlet to work all of my frustration into making something beautiful.
What I love about crafting is giving to your loved once something you spent time on making for them!
I love crafting because the possibilities are endless. It’s so satisfying to start a project and see it through to the end. Even the weaving in ends process is so therapeutic. Creating helps me convey my emotions through way of texture and color choice, the process is mindful and helps ease my anxiety.
I love that crafting is as individual as the people who craft. I like so many types of crafts that I have had to cut back to those I love–knitting, sewing, gardening, making soap, lotion, salve.
When you open yourself up to the creative process, you get the feeling that something bigger than you is flowing through your fingers. Crafting connects you to the creative genius of the universe ❇️✴️❇️
I think some people are hardwired to create, like everyone who has posted here! I love yarns and knitting, and even though I draw and paint a little, I always come back to my yarns…I think it’s the colours that get me!
Creative expression and a gift of love
I love crafting for a lot of different reasons. I love creating things – seeing how my time and effort being put into something creates something beautiful. But crafting is also very meditative to me. It’s very calming.
I love the fact that I can knit things for my family, friends & also for charity! It helps keep my mind at peace & is a great stress reliever🧶
Hi Chandi, I love crafting, especially knitting, because it allows me to both relax and follow a creative passion at the same time. There is always something more to learn. Yarn is so tactile and the colors feed my soul. 💖
I love being able to MAKE the things I want to make!
I love knitting, Soulcollage, papercrafting/cardmaking, and am learning to crochet. Crafting allows me to quiet myself and be mindful and destress. It allows me to create things for people I love. I enjoy playing with textures and colors imagining all the possibilities and getting to play.
Crafting gives me an outlet to be creative! My job is repetitive, and I must follow rules and enforce them. Crafting gives me a chance to choose colors and adjust patterns to my liking or to what I have in my stash. And it gives me a chance to do more complicated math sometimes, when I make adjustments 🙂
Hi from New Zealand. Crafting allows me creativity and is a great stress reliever. When counting stitches I’m not worrying about the hard bits of my teaching and head of faculty position.
I love having a finished product in my hands, that I made myself.
Crafting is my happy place. When I’m creating something, I’m in the zone, relaxed and far away from the worries of the world. And seeing the final product always makes me happy too.
I call crafting my “productive meditation”; it helps to keep me centered, and present. It also allows me to express my love for other people in the gifts I make.
Hi chandi for me I love crafting so much especially knitting and crocheting, being able to see the results of what your hands just made is very satisfying and makes me feel proud and happy. Its also soothing and calms me down
I love to crochet because I can see a project growing under my hands while feeling the soft yarn between my fingers and focusing on the simple task of following the pattern. It‘s the perfect combination of feeling creative and relaxing.
I love how I feel when I’m crafting. I’m relaxed, happy and worthy! And I don’t feel that way often.
Crafting can be an escape from the stresses of life.
Beautiful colours!
Crocheting is my happy place!
What I love about crafting is the unique self expression it brings! Crafting has shown me that I can create things of value through my own skill, passion and creativity! Thank you Chandi and the EFA team!!
Crafting allows me to slow down and enjoy me time! It’s the perfect way to chill out and relax in the midst of busy life!
I love bringing a feeling, idea, something ineffable into form.
Hi Chandi! What I love about crafting is that I get to make beautiful things while imaging different ways to play with designs and colors! It’s time for me to enjoy something I love to do, thank you so much for tjis gorgeous giveaway!! 🤗💙
It gives me a sense of accomplishment
Knitting and crocheting help me decompress after work. These activities elevate stress and relax me, as well.
I love how I can make something exactly like I want it – mostly ;o)
How something gradually emerges from the needles, going from a little bit of fabric that could be anything to – well, anything: a cowl, a jumper with icebears on it, a wedding dress …
And how boring meetings, travel time, any ‘sit still and listen’ time, automagically becomes knitting time.
I love being able gift something to my friends and family unique to them and made with love.
Chandi,
Crafting for me is something I use for self care. I suffer from severe anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar 1 and agoraphobia. So crochet seems to help tak my mind off things to calm my brain to ratchet down a panic attacks.
I always love your colorways. And this is no exception. I would love to have these in my stash to use for a beautiful project!
Thanks!
Nicole
lovely colors
Definitely love the endless possibilities and inspiration that come with crafting!
Knitting is what keeps me going through depressive phases and keeps me inspired.
I have a very busy schedule between taking care of home and family, my Pilates & dance classes, my gardening, knitting and crocheting keeps me focused and calm to accomplish it all 🥰
Thanks for the opportunity to win such beautiful yarn! My crafting time is “me” time, at least in my head. I make decisions, figure things out, make mistakes, and take pride in my accomplishments.
I can get away into my bubble where everything is already, and all the while still be creating something that will last and make someone happy.
I love the feeling I get when I see something I made with my own two hands, especially when someone else is using it and loves it.
Hi Chandi,
I love crafting for the expression of me creativity. It is what inspires me. 😊
Hi Chandi, I love
Crafting because it is a form of self expression
That I can present to the world as a garment that I can wear proudly.
Hi Chandi, I love Crafting because I love taking yarn and a hook and create a form of self expression that I can present to the world by wearing it proudly. It is a way to keep busy, improve concentration, and keep my mental faculties sharp.
Crafting is meditative for me.
Hi Chandi, thank you for the chance at another lovely giveaway! Your colors are just so beautiful. Crafting is my therapy, it has been lately anyway. I just love making pretty useful things and people who I make things love it too. Everything about knitting, crocheting, and spinning is just wonderful to me!😊
I just like staying up late and crafting with Netflix without the interruptions… sometimes I’m up until 3am… I just lose track of time I am so joyous in my little happy realm.
Crafting is my place and time to be creative and find peace in making mistakes and being imperfect. At work (very technical supervisory job), I have to be “on” and accurate all the time. Knitting and sewing made me realize it’s ok to play with color, pattern, rip out and start again, and enjoy the art that is created.
Crafting relaxes me. I love to knit, crochet, sew, and repurpose thrifted items. I’m always experimenting with creating new items because I love giving handmade gifts to those who appreciate them!
Crafting relaxes me. I love to knit, crochet, sew, and repurpose thrifted items. I’m always experimenting with creating new items because I love giving handmade gifts to those who appreciate them!
I love that being able to make something special to give others
Crafting gives me a creative outlet, to express myself through art. It’s an opportunity to create something unique. It brings me joy!
Crafting, almost exclusively knitting these days, is my end-of-day me time. A time to calm my restless mind and body. Knitting with your beautiful yarns is like the whipped cream topping on that me time.
I love the time creating allows me to work things out in my mind, to be almost meditative, and brings peace.
My favorite thing about knitting is thar it’s so calming.
I turned to crafting in a major way after I had my first child, because I desperately needed some time for myself. Now, seven years later, it’s become one of the most spiritual parts of my day—meditative and creative in a tactile way that is different than my job.
I love crafting, especially knitting and crochet which both give me great comfort. My grandmother always had either knitting or crochet projects in process when we visited her every weekend so as I work on projects I feel a sense of closeness to her.
Knitting & crocheting keeps me happy…always something to make!
I can make so many different items w each craft!
As always, the colors are gorgeous!
Hi Chandi and EFA Team! When you decide to pick up your favorite yarn and start to visualize what to make next, you feel a sense of accomplishment already as you go through the steps of creativity and artistry. I love when this happens, your whole body and mind feel at ease at those moments. Have a happy Valentines Day in advance everyone! 💌👋😇🏝
I like the process of crafting and the finished projects.
Crafting gives me an outlet to express myself. Colors and details
I love creating things, especially from yarn. All the choices about colors and bases, and the time spent working through the instructions make each FO special. Bonus points if it turns into a cuddly piece.
Crafting makes me forget my illness and is so good for my mental health. And I love seeing what I can make and challenge myself
Crafting brings me joy – it’s as simple as that.
Keeps my hands busy! Love making things for my friends & family
I am new to your site and just amazed by the beautiful yarns you carry. I specially love how personable your emails read and the positivity that is portrayed from it. You have truly inspired me to really dive more deeply into the passion of Knitting and Crocheting that I so love. Your creations of patterns are incredible beautiful and the website over all is just a delight to visit.
I now just have to find more extra time during the day since I usually unwind in the evening with either craft and enjoy the peacefulness that portraits from it.
Thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us. 🧶❣️
I love that crafting gives you the ability and reward of creating something by hand. To finish a project and see the end result is such a wonderful feeling, especially when that project is appreciated by someone other than yourself.
What I love about crafting is the feeling of accomplishment & satisfaction that I completed a project that I did something beautiful for someone else to brighten their day. The smile on their face makes all the hard work & hours spent so worth it. Thank you for your lovely words & great patterns & tutorials that make this all possible!!!
Crafting helps me relax and express my creative side. I love being able to make something, look at it, and say, “I made that!”. It brings me joy.
I love being able to use “waiting time” to create beautiful one of a kind gifts and unique creations for myself and my family. Doing nothing makes me nervous…knitting and crochet calms me.
Hi Chandi and Tim – my 13 year old daughter now shares my love of fiber arts. Knitting and crocheting is magical and transports us back to a time when people made things by hand. The fact that me and my daughter Lily enjoy time away from technology to craft with yarn together and share the simple pleasure of making something with our hands is delightful. Thanks for all you do – we love, love, love your videos!
As a person with ADD, crafting, especially knitting, allows me to focus and keep me from fidgeting
I love to make things for other people, my family and myself, I find it relaxing & I can escape everyday stuff & get my mind off of things & focus on my project and relax while creating something beautiful whether it’s beading, making jewelry, spinning, or crocheting. Gives me a chance to focus on my crafting project and not the world around me, kind of gives me a break. But I really do enjoy the process and final outcome of my work.
I find knitting and crocheting very relaxing. I crochet beanies for a local port ministry and I am now also teaching myself how to knit. Your yarns and ideas are so beautiful.
Bringing some comfort and coziness to animals in shelters waiting for a home by crocheting blankets for them is a priority and a joy for me.
Crafting takes me to a happy, calm, relaxing place and a as a bonus, I make something pretty and/or useful.
I love being able to make a useful item from a squishy ball of yarn, I love the relaxing, meditative aspect of crochet, and I love making things for the people I love.
Absolutely beautiful yarn, lovely colors! What I love about crafting is that I can make things for friends, family and for myself and meditate while at it…. satisfaction to finish something I made with my own hands 🙂
I absolutely love how calming and relaxing crafting is. Also the joy is brings people when you make them a beautiful gift.
I love watching a new piece come to life, slowly, and seeing the final product! Multicolored yarns are such surprises in how they come out of the skein.
Crochet is something I crave…. Can’t ever be idle with out a hook in my hand. Brings peace and productivity…
Crafting takes me to my happy place. The struggles of difficult days, anxiety attacks or just everyday troubles, can be placed to the side for a time. Once I’m relaxed and calm I can ‘do’ life a little easier.
I love crocheting at the end of each day as a way to wind down and destress (especially after a long work day in front of the computer). It’s like a meditation to me!
Good morning to all! Crocheting has been an obsession for several years now. And then the separate but equal obsession of yarn collecting…. It’s a bit like petting my dogs. Playing with yarn almost always brings me a sense of calm and even when it’s being difficult (like my dogs) it reminds me to be patient.
Knitting is very relaxing for me. I get to run away from the day’s hectic environment. I have no worries when I knit.
There’s a certain kind of wonder to making a garment from a piece of string and 1-2 sticks. Really, it’s a sorcery of which I never tire.
I love the challenge of creating from my imagination and making something from scratch
I love being able to create things as I can customize them to the specific person I’m making the item for. Also, I love the calming effect crafting has – whether I’m knitting, crocheting, or painting, my mind escapes to a place in the clouds and it’s like a refresh for the day!
I love the process of practicing and bettering a skill as well as the rhythm of following a pattern relaxes me
I just love to create! If too much time passes without me making something I start to feel itchy.
Knitting keeps my hands busy and stills my mind.
I craft to keep my sanity in this crazy world!! I can sit and knit in my favorite spot, listen to audiobooks and be calm in chaos! Thanks for being you, Chandi. You are a delight to the world.
Playing with Yan keeps me sane!!
I love the peace that crafting brings me. It gives me a sense of calm even when things are busy around me.
I like that knitting allows me a creative outlet. Also as a tall woman with long arms I like the fact that I can make sweaters that will actually keep my wrists warm!
I love that crafting creates handmade items, and gives me an opportunity to seize a beautiful “can do” moment. Crafting also carves time out of my busy life moments with myself.
I love how crafting gives me a creative and healthy coping method for my anxiety. It also brings me closer to people through the gifts I knit, crochet, or loom knit.
I love crafts in general. They give me something constructive to do with my time, provide a creative outlet, help me form friendships and connections with so many different people, and just provide me with a relaxing form of entertainment too. I only wish that I had more time to dedicate to my projects!
I love seeing projects take shape!
Crocheting and knitting helps me share my love with friends and family in a very tangible way. They appreciate receiving gifts that I spent hours of my time on just for them!
I love how it helps me wind down at the end of a long day… and it involves no screens! I try to set an example for my kids of acceptable screen time and crochet helps me do it (except when I’m looking for patterns or buying yarn!).
Crafting makes my heart sing! It gives me a sense of accomplishment, creating something with my hands, and keeps me from stagnation on so many levels.
I knit, crochet, and cross stitch. I love to take something such as a ball of yarn or floss, and make something beautiful out of it!
I fall in love with the mental image that fabric is flowing from my fingers, I feel like a vintage illustration of the moon knitting the night sky… Even when I’m just elbowing strangers on the train!
Constant creative freedom.
I love making things for myself, my family, my dog, and my friends that will make them smile.
Where to begin on crafting!? I love knitting and crocheting because I find it extremely meditative after having a crap day at work. I love making things I can wear or use to decorate my home!
Crafting is my quiet time.
Knitting, and to a large degree crocheting, quiet my very unquiet mind. The feel of the yarn, the color, the clicking of needles, the math In my head….
I was promoted at work and the first thing I did that night was to go to the website, buy a pattern and all yarn to create it!!
I love this yarn!!!
I love the quiet moments of focusing on the gorgeous yarn, and stitch by stitch it becomes a gift or treasured treat for myself. Crafting brings peace
Crafting is my happy place. I love to be able to take something and make something totally different from it. I guess it’s the creative part of me that shines.
Crafting allows me to create a physical manifestation of my love, feelings, and dreams to gift those who mean something in my life. Doesnt matter if its painting, embroidery, or yarn work; creating is the closest i will be to a god and getting to share the creation with those near me is a joy unlike most.
I love the bonds that I have developed through the yarny community and the friendships that I have gained along the way!
Crafting takes me out of my head. I’m retired now but when I was working I was in a large super busy 911 centre. It was a stressful job and knitting, stitching, quilting, crocheting took me away from the chaos and quieted things down for me. Now that I’m retired, live is much more peaceful but I still find solace in taking something from nothing and making it into something.
Hello! Thank you for the beautiful patterns, yarns, and giveaway opportunities!
I am AuDHD (autism & ADHD), and crafting helps me stay grounded, keeps my hands and mind busy, and settles my anxiety. My go to crafts are knitting, crochet, tunisian crochet, and wire wrapping/weaving.
Crafting is my first-ever hobby, which I came to at the age of 41. It means I have somewhere to direct my energy, and something I can keep learning new things about, and something that can help me connect to other people, in a way I really never did before. I can DO something, and there is a physical, usable result of my interest in the end. It’s magical.
I have to craft. It keeps me happy and healthy.
I love crafting because it gives me a chance to create with my hands to make something beautiful. I get to learn, share and teach others.
I love that my yarn work/crafting is great for my own mental health and sense of accomplishment, all while benefiting others in their time in need. I have never kept an item for myself and gifted one item to a family member with a new baby. I’m permanently disabled and miss my hospital career as a maternity RN more than I can express. Being that my life is now so compromised….I guess crafting gives me a sense of purpose. 😊 💕
Such beautiful colors. When I was working, I could sit and knit in a crowded lunchroom and be in my own space! It is such a great way to bring back peace to my soul! Now that I am retired, I so enjoy the extra time for working on projects and bring them with me every where I go!
Crafting gives me the opportunity to use my creativity on a daily basis, a little bit at a time. I can create something both beautiful and useful.
Crafting is a stress reliever for me. I love making things for others. I often create items for those less fortunate. It’s a way to give back.
I love the way crafting connects me to others! By the gifts I can give to my friends and family, the time we can spend crafting together, and the connection it gives me to the women who came before me who taught me my craft. It’s an incredibly deep and beautiful connection.
I love how crafting just immerses my senses. The textures and colors of yarn and needles in my hand are a sensory delight! The complex but repetitive nature of knitting clears my mind of anything else and I feel like I can just be.
I’ve been crocheting for over 60 years and love it. I love making something and then finding a home for it whether in my own home or given to a friend or charity. The craft keeps my mind working and calms my soul.
I love crafting because it allows me to have a creative outlet and a great way to relax. Enjoy looking at all the colors and the textures of the stitches. It is most satisfying.
I appreciate and acknowledge the work and dedication Chandi and her team as they create the beautiful colors of our created universe into the yarn which is carried into our projects. It is a joy to see.
To me, Crafting is something that takes me to a Magical Place where I can create something beautiful no matter where I am or what I may be going through. It is a gentle reminder that I too was created and that I am a part of everything else that is created and to me that is something very unique and special all on its own. It also reminds me just how fragile things are and how much they should be valued and loved, as no thing that is ever created should be done so in vain, it should be cherished and loved and valued to honor of all creators.
I love crafting because it keeps my hands busy and it gives me a stress relief while being able to watch my projects come to life and the satisfaction I get from making something beautiful.
I love being able to create something with my own hands and the feeling of pride and accomplishment it gives me. I especially love watching my granddaughters when they love something that I’ve made for them
I’m a (personal-not commercial) dress designer and sewer, knitter, crocheter, quilter, spinner and past sheep owner, and now painter. I love crafting because I love envisioning something and creating it -and it always has to have the ‘beautiful factor’. I feel that handmade things are better quality and construction and I love the uniqueness -the one of a kind in forever factor! I cannot sit without my hands moving-it’s how God made me; thankfully.
Another gorgeous group of yarns! I love that I can turn a bunch of string into a snuggly sweater or hat or whatever I’m making!
Crafting is relaxing for me and that’s why I love it.
I love knitting. It relaxes me and I love making garments for my family. I am currently working on an Irish sweater for my husband.
Be still my beating heart! 💗 what an absolutely beautiful yarn giveaway!! 💕 🧶 💕 For me, I enjoy the time out that crafting allows & the change in focus from the everyday to the simple appreciation of colors and textures and stitch by stitch, the sense of accomplishment when you achieve something new.
hello everyone, I have always loved creating: whether in cooking, in music, in writing, with wool, I never feel so good. I particularly love knitting and crochet because it “justifies and makes useful” the TV hours! In short, I like what is beautiful, and this wool here is really, really beautiful. THANKS
Crafting gives me time to think about my needs and planning time. It also gets me connected with friends. And in the end I have a completed project!
What I love about crafting!? EVERYTHING!! First, it’s a little escape from stress. Second, it challenges the mind & fingers (in a good way). Third, you can say “wow, I made that”. Thank you God for gifting me with this little joy & creativity.
I love creating something. Hopefully it will be something lovely, but even if not, the act of creation is a reward in itself.
Good Sunday Morning,
I am what my friends and family call ‘hard core crochet’. 😉 Your yarns are my favorite!
Crafting lets me try new things–materials, ideas, techniques.
Crafting provides some calm in my chaotic, fun life. It’s my “me” time after a long day of work and family. And I get to make beautiful things to share with others.
There are so many possibilities with crafting. I knit mostly, though I can crochet too, and I will daydream as I knit about all the possible garments I could make. It doesn’t matter that I’m a slow producer, because the endless possibilities keep me going!
Crafting brings me peace and happiness.
Crafting is an act of intentional creation, and how often does one get to Intentionally create things of beauty in their every day life? Well, as crafters, we get to do so daily! I love the feeling of gifting something I’ve created to someone, whether a loved one or a stranger who needs or can use it. More so, I love the very act of creating something I consider to be beautiful.
I love seeing the material I’m working with transform in my hands into something new and wonderful!
Crafting is the opportunity to “turn off the noise” and relax. I like the idea of making something for someone else – either by hook or needle. Over the years, I’ve learned how to do different crafts from embroidery, sewing, needlepoint, quilting, and knitting and crochet. I like the idea of being able to create a gift as unique as the person I’m gifting it to.
Hi Chandi, this month’s yarn is especially gorgeous! And you are generous to offer giveaways. I enjoy making (it relaxes me and keeps me out of the cookie jar, haha) and try to be generous in gifting.
I enjoy crocheting new things. I love working more challenging patterns; and then when the item is done, I love looking at it with a sense of accomplishment.
Crafting helps keep me calm while producing something that someone I love will get to enjoy.
Crafting gives you the chance to make something entirely unique and artisan – exactly to your specifications, exactly how you want it! It’s also very soothing and very rewarding.
When I knit or crochet something for someone, I want to make a lasting gift of my love for them. If they are celebrating a baby, grieving a loss, or just surprised by my gift, it is a such an added beautiful thing to have the item made from your beautiful yarn. I love making things – I knit or crochet every day – and the people I love are ALWAYS appreciative of the WOW factor your amazing yarn adds!
Knitting is the part of my life where I can be curious and feel free to try new things without knowing how they’ll turn out. No mistake is defeating, because any time spent knitting is valuable.
Bringing something to life that only I can bring and sharing it with others. I love to see gifts worn by or hung on the walls of people I love.
Relaxing
What I love most about crafting is that the sky is the limit and that the possibilities are endless! With such beautiful, colorful yarns and so many stitch patterns and combinations, pure magic happens! What’s not to love about that!
Crafting-specifically knitting-keeps me centered and focused and makes me feel accomplished.
I love that I can custom-make things that I want to wear, instead of having to look at store after store and never find anything I like.
I love all kinds of crafting…. but also prefer to do so with intent of providing comfort to others:)
Knitting, crochet and hybrid crochet (a.k.a. Tunisian) all allow my mind to relax, but also learn…. and sometimes teach:)
Thank you for providing not only fabulous yarn, but amazing patterns and introducing to great designers!
Have returned to knitting after many, many years. Love the new yarns, and the fact that I can afford them now! Love your tutorials, your patterns, and most of all your yarn. Have just finished Turbulence with “Wintry Sky” Sincere sock. Lots of repeat hard to do, but the shawl came out lovely. Have to block it, the. I can wear it!
Crafting is a way to relax for me. I love learning new techniques and it is so satisfying to watch yarn (or any other medium) turn into something beautiful and unique for you or other people to enjoy.
I love crafting because it’s calming after a long, stressful day. Plus I get pretty things out of it! 😊
I love crafting for the ability to be creative. I also enjoy sharing my crafts with others through teaching or through finished projects.
I learned a variety of needlework techniques, and a very young age from various family members. I’ve been crafting all my life, and it keeps me sane. It calms me when I’m anxious, gives me an outlet when I’m bursting with ideas, and allows me to create beauty in an often chaotic world.
I love charity crafting. So much need in the world and it gives me purpose to my crafting.
I love crafting because there is so much joy in creation and beauty. I love making beautiful things. I love that I CAN make beautiful things. I love giving them away and keeping them for myself. It’s a way I can imitate my Creator and it’s wonderful.
I love crafting because it is very meditative, and I make something for myself or a loved one at the end.
I adore crafting, creating something with my hands gives me a huge sense of accomplishment. I enjoy making things for others and it’s a huge source of stress relief. Crocheting in front of the fireplace ona rainy day is by far one of my favorite things to so. Finding affordable yarn is the only kicker here so im crossing my fingers for a win lol!
Crafting is awesome because it can be either an individual activity or a social activity. I love to craft with my four year old daughter and to see her creativity blossom. I also love when I get to just knit or craft on my own because it’s cathartic and meditative. Crafting can also connect you to your family history or to your cultural roots.
What I love about crafting is seeing what I have made at the end. How one hook or two needles and yarn can make something wonderful. It is joyful to watch something take shape. It allows you to take yourself into a different world outside the chaos of modern day life. It allows you to learn new things and enjoy something which has been adored for years all around the world. A skill which you can pass on to the younger generation when they see you do it.
Crafting is relaxing and satisfying at the same time. You only think about the craft work and forget the worries of everyday life. There is also the satisfying feeling of creating something. These feelings make me happy.
Crafting: I can make pretty, useful, and pretty useful stuff; and it keeps my hands and brain busy!
Crafting helps keep both my hands and my mind busy, so that I don’t fidget as much, and I’m better able to focus, especially during meetings.
Crafting? It helps me to breathe and focus. Supports me in times of trouble, it gives me great pleasure and allows me to make beautiful items as gifts, for charity and for me too. I cannot picture my life without my craftwork!
I love the freedom of crafting. At all times, it is whatever I need it to be — a simple meditation for calm and focus, an engrossing exploration of texture and color, or even some creative boundary pushing to challenge myself.
Much like a lot of the other commenters here: Crafting gives me a sense of control, and a sense of peace. A chance to keep my mind focused and working, but on something outside of the stresses of daily life, AND have something uniquely beautiful or fun to show for it at the end of the process.
Your colors are so beautiful. Hope to try some out soon.
I love the feel of beautiful and luxurious yarn and getting into the rhythm of knitting.
I love being able to do something that’s both productive and relaxing while winding down from a work day. And making so many things from the same start point – a piece of string – is so satisfying.
I started crafting when I was about 8-10 when I was laid up with a knee encounter trying to hurdle over a drill. That was more punishment than love, but it started me (the neighborhood tomboy) on my track. I made all my clothes for years, picked up crocheting and knitting in high school and started quilting after marriage. Knitting was almost a necessity when living in Alaska for 30 years….caps, mittens, scarves, sweaters. I took up beading, needlepoint and cross stitch in Alaska. Then in retirement I learned to soap. At 82, I think you have to keep your mind busy in order to stave off boredom and hopefully dementia. My daughter is teaching me how to read crochet charts…it’s a hard learn for me. Lots of time I end up writing it down so I don’t forget and can pick it up again when she is not there., but I will learn it. I would have to say that crafting is ingrained in my DNA because both my girls craft too. You can’t beat it!
There’s nothing like getting a compliment on something you made and being able to say, ‘thanks, I made it!’ I love the calmness I get while knitting or crocheting and I love the sense of accomplishment I get when I finish a project.
I love that crafting is so meditative for me ❤️
Each project is an adventure. It fills me with excitement to start a new piece and I enjoy each step on the way – including back steps, miss steps and repeat steps. Having this beautiful yarn in my hand fills me with happiness. Each stitch I do says I love you to the person I create a unique piece for.
I love that it can be both challenging and calming all at the same time. The only thing better would be the ability to knit and read (not audio books, no attention span for that) at the same time. 😊
Crafting gives me peace and relaxation. I can get out of the days traumas for a short time. I love making things for others and seeing their faces light up. Its a beautiful thing.
I love crafting because it’s calming, creative, and useful. I feel like a wizard when I can turn simple items into beautiful gifts!
I love watching individual materials turn into something real and different, and the challenge of puzzling out problems or creating my own design. Crafting’s also a good way to keep my hands busy to keep me focused or from getting bored. 🙂
The lovely colors inspire me to knit or crochet. It helps in relax and happy creating something from beautiful hand dyed yarns.
I love to work with yarn! I feel as if I have discovered an ability to combine colors that I didn’t realize I had. I am still exploring how to mix and match colors, but it’s really fun!
Crafting is my way of playing. Crochet is my favorite craft. It allows me to create one-of-a-kind gifts for family and friends.
Crafting brings great relaxation and joy, also the sense of accomplishment when you are done.
What I love about crafting is being able to make things for others and also learn new skills. I love when I can make a project for no other reason than to learn a new stitch or technique.
I love knitting because I love the feel of a quality yarn in my hands, the sense of creating something useful and lovely, and the community that comes with it. As I get older, I love the sense that I am creating things that will be with my family years after I’m gone.
Yarn LOVE!
I love turning waste materials (like garage sale yarn and T-shirt yarn) into beautiful things. (But I would also love a pile of gorgeous new yarn!)
I love knitting because it makes me happy to see something I have created and I love all the colors in the give away. I’m obsessed with yarn and knitting wish I could knit faster but not that experienced yet. Also it would be awesome to win because it’s my birthday month.
It makes me HAPPY!
Crafting with my hands leads me to a place of peace. When the yarn moves through my hands my heart rate calms and my thoughts almost always turn to the person, known or unknown, who will wear the piece. It’s a perfect time to offer prayers for them and their intentions.
Crafting gives me the opportunity to create something special for those that I love. It’s an outlet for creativity! I love all of your beautiful yarns and colors!!!
Crafting, crocheting, relaxes me and helps me to unwind and get in touch with my creative side. Beautiful colors and textures make me happy!
Just getting back into crochet, I’m on a roll! I’ve started to take out some “Me time” and when finished I have a gift for someone or myself! lol, It’s so rewarding in the end! I mad a promise this year to learn something new, so I would like to learn “tunisian” and continental knitting.
Crafting is the best sort of therapy. It gives you something to concentrate on, plus the bonus of having a beautiful item when you’ve finished.
Crafting keeps me sane.
Spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, sewing, I just love making all the pieces into something whole. Useful, beautiful, or Not so much! Calming, meditative or totally frustrating! I always learn something even if it’s just “well I’m not gonna do it That way again! “
I love rug hooking with yarn. The creativity and freedom the yarn provides is inspiring to me.
I enjoy working with my hands to create something beautiful. I’ve always enjoyed embroidery and quilting. I’m still fairly new to crochet, in spite of growing up watching my mother make many things. It may have taken me decades to learn this skill, but I love learning new stitches and how color and yarn size play a unique role in the finished product.
Crafting allows me to create something that gives joy to someone else while, at the same time, giving me peace.
I love craft work because I concentrate on my craft, usually crochet, and I don’t have room in my mind for anything else! It keeps me from stress or stress eating. And I get something nice out of it, too!
Making things is always a nice way for me to wind down in the evenings, plus i always love to learn new things! There’s so much you can make and so many resources to learn how, there’s never a dearth of things to learn.
Crafting gives me another way to tell people I love them!
I like being able to make a respectable replica of some pretty thing someone else was kind enough to show me how to do. I feel successful and I very likely had fun doing it (though sometimes internal discussions with colorful words are used in the process!). And my family is always very encouraging as well, that helps too.
I love crafting, as I can make something with my own two hands to keep or gift. I love knitting and crocheting, and both of these creative endeavors provide a sense of peace, calm, and coziness. I love the feel of the yarn itself – so soft! I like to challenge myself, as well, to learn different stitches. Keeps me on my toes, and that feeling of accomplishment is like no other.
Crafting, creating as an expression of a vision; also that it feels so therapeutic and relaxing. By the way, the yarns this month are especially gorgeous!
Hello beautiful Chandi. Absolutely love receiving your emails and watching your videos. The inspirational messages you send make me feel so good and truly brighten my day. Thank you for that! 💗. I have dabbled in crochet and knitting for a few years but never took it seriously. Making mostly crochet blankets and scarves, with no consideration to size or type of yarn and not really looking into more than the basic stitches. And my projects were very uninspired. I am retired now so I spend more time on my computer and your post came up. Listening to your messages, watching your videos right to the end and enjoying your outtakes at the end. How you model the awesome shawls has made me want to try make more beautiful things. I have tried some of the new stitches you have tutorials for, having fun with that. At some point, I might be able to afford to order some of the amazing yarns you make, they are so gorgeous. Thank you for doing what you do, I love it. 💗
Hello Chandi. Such beautiful yarn, I just love the colors so vibrate. I love to crochet. It gives me a peace of mind and satisfaction to make something out of just a string of yarn. It is a wonderful feeling.
Keep doing what you are doing. You make the world a better place.
I love the process of taking raw materials into something beautiful and functional. I also love seeing the reaction of those receiving the gift
Crafting is my happy place. Be it sewing, quilting, crocheting, painting. And the smiles it brings other people, just makes you feel good too. You know what they say; ‘I make things our of string, what is your super power’.
Crafting always makes me relax into who I truly am at my core. There’s no subterfuge, thinking about how to please everyone around me, just me doing what I TRULY love.
Crafting brings me challenges, joy, and peace!
I am amazed when I recall my journey from mystification to struggling to making!
What I love about crafting is the joy it brings to others as they are gifted with the things I make. It also brings me peace during stress-filled days in the classroom.
Crafting started as my COVID craft. I love that it calms and relaxes me. I look forward to the time I have to spend with yarn and hook in hand. Your yarns are beautiful and a dream to work with.
I love making something unique that no one else has.
Crafting gives me such a feeling of accomplishment. I have relatives that request hand made gifts, and that just adds to the feeling.
I have been crocheting for over 50 years. My grandmother (Gram) taught me when I was very young. That also makes me feel like she is still living through me.
I love crafting because it is satisfying to create something with my hands whether it’s sewing, spinning yarn, embroidery or knitting. When a project is finished I like to admire the work I accomplished.
February is a good month for yarn crafts. The stress of December and January are in the mirror!
Crafting gives me a way to wind down and find some calm in a world of chaos. So I get some good me time and a beautiful item once I’m done.
Crafting is relaxing and a great way to spend the weekend with my partner. We love to crochet together.
Crafting keeps me sane. I can shut off all the outside noise and probems and just concentrate on making something beautiful fo myself or friends and family.
Hi Chandi
I love learning new things, l am bicrafty and have always wanted to make a sweater for just me. My first one l made was too thick for my liking so gave it to my Aunt that just loved it. I need to keep my hands busy when sitting so crafting is my go to. Can’t wait to make another sweater.
I enjoy finishing things and learning new skills. So often in my life things are perpetually unfinishable, or they take so long to finish that you forgot why you started, but knitting provides something useful and finite, an enjoyable, reusable medium to accomplished something.
I find great peace in knitting something beautiful with beautiful yarn. And I feel accomplished when tackling complex designs and projects. Crafting is a combination of art, hobby, self-care, and wardrobe enhancement.
I enjoy making items that reflect me and do not support human trafficking and slave labor.
There is just so much to love about yarn. The feel of it gliding through your fingers. The variety of the colors and textures available. Giving someone an item that you made especially for them is such a satisfying feeling. It is sharing a part of your heart with them.
My yarn love affair started about 70 years ago when I watched my aunt take a string of yarn and some wooden needles and made me a sweater. That has led to learning to crochet, knit, weave, and all the other things you can do with that string of yarn. My loves in retirement are knitting and crocheting and touching yarns. I am never bored or unhappy as long as I have yarn around me. Thank you for letting me view all that beauty. Some day I will try to visit since I am just over the hills (Knoxville). Love you work.
The creative outlet combined with tactile pleasure and productive result. Admittedly, I’m a bit of a yarn snob, so I gravitate towards soft and sqooshy natural fibers that are soooo nice to work with and wear… which is why I love your yarns!
Crafting brings me a sense of calm in this crazy world. I also crave the sense of satisfaction it brings me when I try a new to me technique.
Crafting is calming and relaxing. Love to see a ball of yarn bloom into something magical. Or to see a blank page filled with a memory is very rewarding. To know that one did the things is satisfying. To share these creations is to give a part of yourself.
Hi Chandi, crafting is my joy. It distracts me from today’s troubles and gives me a great sense of achievement. Life is better with craft. I live on the other side of the world where it is hot at the moment but the heat is more bearable when I am crafting.
I love creating something beautiful out of string and a hook–and I love, love the feeling of soft, beautiful yarn in my hands.
Crafting has helped me on my journey of rehabilitating a damaged heart. When I’m knitting and crocheting, I feel calm and creative. My family members appreciate the gifts made for them and this past holiday season requested a number of gifts including baskets, blankets, socks, wraps, and cat couches! Working with your yarn and patterns is a pleasure!
I love everything about crafting–the challenge of advanced patterns or learning a new craft, the way it keeps my hands occupied so I don’t eat all night long, the connections formed with friends and strangers, the fun of seeing something grow from nothing, the joy of giving a handmade gift to someone. Everything.
Crafting, especially knitting or crocheting, gives me a chance to feel productive – even when I make mistakes. It’s a chance to dissolve into my own world and tune out the noise. Love the sounds of needles and hooks and other tools as I work.
Another lovely bundle 💕
When it comes to crafting, I love that there’s always something new to learn, there’s endless possibilities, and that I get to turn something simple like yarn into something completely new!
Crafting keeps my mind calm and hands busy.
And produces useful items at best in the side..
CRAFTING is relaxing my mind, looking within, meditation in (fingers’) motion. I love watching how a pattern design develops, stitch by stitch (in crochet) and row by row (in knitting). Your yarns are so good at definition!
Crafting gives me a chance to show my creativity and I also get the chance to say hey I made that!
I love the whole creative process. From the first vision to the completed project.
The thing I love the most about crafting is that it gives me permission to slow down. Making beautiful things and embracing creativity help me deal with anxiety in a healthy way.
Hi Chandi. Crafting is my “me time”. I enjoy making beautiful things for myself and others.
My favorite thing about crafting is the hypnotic peace working with my hands brings, and the stillness of the mind. Making pretty things is a nice bonus too.
The best part about knitting or crocheting or for that matter embroidery or any of the various hand crafts is knowing that you have created a beautiful creation that will be loved and cherished by friends and family alike. And sharing these skills with others so they too can enjoy that quiet time creating beauty in thier homes to wear, love, and share with others. It is a beautiful tradition that we get to be a part of. Something that is just just wonderful in the love and peace that it spreads from one home to the next. That is what I love. That each piece we make is a blessing we create to out last us and give to those we love to cherish always.
I am hooked on your site, I can’t always afford to buy your yarn but when I have a bit extra I do. I tend to save it though cause I love it so much. I knit and crochet for several reasons, it quells my perfectionism to a point ( I need that), it’s instant gratification as you can see your progress, and it provides me and my loved ones with unique, one-of-a-kind creations. You are such a beautiful person both inside and out. xx
I love all crafts but life has only so much time. I have crocheted, knitted, weaved, painted, sewn, stained glass. My heart still wants to do all those crafts that I haven’t tried yet. Have you heard of Nirmal painting? It is an Indian art. I tried learning it when I was 17 years old. Unfortunately, at that age, I was impatient. For all crafts, one must have patience and passion like Chandi has. I am still trying. I see wickedness all over the world by only a few but with such a vast impact on innocents. I try to use my voice to bring change. One can lose themselves in this chaos. Chandi’s words of peace and love bring me back to where I should be. Thank you so much.
Hi Chandi, Crochet gives endless possibilities for creativity. My love affair with fiber and crochet began in 2018 and grows stronger every year. I hope to learn some basic knitting stitches this year. I am new to your website and new sub on YT. Your yarn is absolutely gorgeous! I cannot wait to try it. Love and light, Cara
Crafting is the best stress buster there is! Crocheting gifts for family and friends makes me feel productive and relaxed.
Crafting gives me time for myself. Bonus that I get to make something beautiful to enjoy for years to come.
I love the rhythm and color and feel of fiber. No matter what the craft as long as there is fiber involved!
I knit and crochet and love to create things I use (mainly for warmth) or give to charity. I like to use patterns and also use stitch dictionaries to create my own patterns. It also allows me a dose of color therapy.
I love being able to relax and build or create something out of nothing. I also enjoy the sense of accomplishment when I finish.
Hi Chandi,
I mostly crochet but dabble in knitting. Some of your patterns inspire me to want to do more knitting. Crafting is therapy.
I find crafting satisfying, sometimes challenging and often a way to connect with others.
I love crafting and especially knitting. It helps me to feel in control of my life when things around me are spinning out. It calms me and gives me peace inside.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! What beautiful colors. Crafting for me is feeling the excitement of starting my project. The feeling you get when you start to see your project coming to life. The feeling when you don’t want to put it down but you need to Lol. And OH the feeling when it’s finished
What I love the most about crafting is having the opportunity to take something (or several somethings) and turn them into something completely different. I’m also a very “touch sensitive” person, so having something in my hands to work with can be a very soothing experience. Thanks once again for your generosity!
My favorite thing about crafting is giving someone I love a work made by my own hands with all the little oddities and peculiarities of a handmade work, something that I have considered will delight and “fit” them just right.
What I love about crafting is being productive and watching something lovely be created by my own hands.
I love being able to share what I make because it shows love.
Crafting is time for me.
I love crafting for the thrill of having made something useful. It could be a skirt, a baby outfit, a blanket, dishcloth, toy, or even a loaf of bread or a delicious meal that will be gone too quickly – creating beautiful things is just a fun accomplishment!
Crafting of all kinds have been in my life since being a brownie & girl scout in the 1950’s. Learning new crafts thru the years, s/a beading, macrame, kumihimo, etc. brought much joy to my life. I learned to crochet as a child from my sweet grandmother. I’ve never been able to crochet doilies with thread as she did but i do so love crocheting with nice yarn. In my 20’s, I taught myself to knit and haven’t stopped since. Knitting & crocheting projects bring enjoyable “me” moments & a sense of accomplishment.
Thank you, Chandi, for this wonderful yarn giveaway. Good luck to everyone!!
Such beautiful colors, as usual. I love your yarns and video posts. You are a beautiful woman inside and out!!! ❤️
I love the soothing repetitive nature of knitting and crochet, that still has enough change and variation to stay endlessly interesting. I love the feel of amazing yarn, the colors, the structure and design of stitches and pieces. I love seeing a piece take shape as I work, and I love having something lovely and functional to show for my relaxation time.
I love learning new things and gaining skills with my crafting.
I love the excitement of starting a new project and getting in the zone
Hi Chandi and team! ❤️
Crafting is so fun, satisfying, exciting! I love how it helps me relax, gives me “me time” sometimes, and allows me to make things for people I love! I mostly crochet, but in trying to create Halloween costumes for my kids, many other mediums are also involved! 😁 Thanks for this amazing chance to win, I love your yarn! 💕
I’m a metadata librarian, so I use my logical brain all day, every day. Crocheting helps me turn that side off by activating my creative mind. It can be a kind of meditation (a calming repetition) or a distraction (complex and involved). I can take my projects anywhere and I can crochet while watching tv or listening to an audiobook. In the end, I have something unique that will make someone genuinely happy.
I love how crafting has brought me together with amazing people I would never have known otherwise!
I love crocheting! It is relaxing. I have been trying to knit but can’t seem to get the hang of it. I keep trying a lot because I love doing it. I get really excited when I see yarn! I think I am addicted. Lol. I bought some koala yarn last month for the crochet along and oh my goodness! It was amazing! It was so easy to work with! The thing I love most when I am crafting is finishing a project. The satisfaction of making something that can be used and the fact that I made it. Simply amazing! I also love sharing with the people I have connected with.
Crafting allows me to relax, reduce anxiety, and lets my imagination run wild. It’s “me time”.
I learned to crochet because I’m dyslexic and at the age of 5 my Grandma sat me down with a crochet hook and my very first skein of yarn and while I made miles of chain she read me stories and worked on teaching me to read the alphabet. Two lifelong loves were born that day, reading and crocheting. As a got older, it was decided that I also was ADHD and once again Grandma got out the yarn and crochet hooks and while my hands worked with the yarn I was able to concentrate on what I was being told and to sit still for long periods of time. I still get out the crochet hooks and yarn when I really need to concentrate, but it is my got to happy place and a loving reminder of my Grandma. Now my grandchildren all fight over the things that I make and I am hoping that teaching one of them how to crochet will give them lifelong happy memories of me.
Crafting is my much needed “me time” and typically relaxes me. It is fun to try something new, learn new stitches or techniques and see it all come together from scratch!
Sometimes craft time is mommy-kiddo bonding time too! My littles like to dabble in arts and crafts right a long side me…. They just have a much shorter attention span!
I love crafting,it keeps my fingers busy, my mind engaged and my soul soothed.
Crafty gives me space and time to focus on creating something beautiful instead of the stresses of every day life!
I love the way I get to learn something new and create something different. I like the exhilaration I feel when someone loves the handmade gift I give them.
I love to knit because it calms me down. Learning new techniques causes my brain to work in ways it normally doesn’t and it’s challenging. I have always loved “to see” a finished product, no matter what it is that I am doing. And what I can create with my hands, two sticks and a piece of string is always amazing to me.
Crafting gives me much needed relaxation and decompression time while still being productive!
It helps me focus and gives me the freedom to create what I want.
I enjoy the creation of an item that can be used.
I find crafting meditative, it is time that I can spend quiet with my own thoughts. The feel of the yarn, seeing the project taking shape gives me endless you and a sense of achievement.
I love about crafting the fact that it disconnects me from the world, it makes all the problems go away for a few hours or minutes, and the result of it is an unique item for my children or for my friends (or even for me, although I rarely make something for me 🙂 )
Crafting is the way to explore my creativity, it’s endless. I love it.
What I love more about crafting is to see beautiful, unique things coming out from the work of my own hands
I love making something beautiful where there used to be nothing! How amazing an opportunity to change your world for the better in just a small way… and then share with others too!
Crafting helps me with my anxiety and it also helps me feel close to my family when I make for them.
Crafting gives me something todo with my hands and helps to take my mind off of other things.
Crafting in all of its shapes and forms brings me closer to my dear mother who we lost to Covid in 2020. She taught all of my sisters and me everything from sewing and pattern making (her profession) to lace making, paper crafts, and so much more. I can already imagine how I could use each of the lovely skeins in your giveaway.
I love being able to take something lovely and make it into something else even more beautiful and useful to me.
I love crafting because it helps my brain quiet down for a bit. Super relaxing and my cats love to sit on my lap while I do it
I love crafting because it enables me to make a physical object from essentially just string. Even though I’ve been knitting for more than two decades now it still fills me a bit with a sense of wonder, especially when something turns out better than I envisioned.
I love the calming and meditative state knitting gives me.
Hello Beautiful Flowers!
I love losing myself in a project, making something with Love for someone I Love.
Our creations are our immortality.
What I love about crafting is seeing a project grow and be completed – the process. It is kind of like a puzzle, putting all the pieces together and seeing a perfect picture at the end.
Crafting can be very calming and I love seeing a finished project come together.
The Peace of it and the Math/Numbers
What I love about crocheting is the giving part. Most of what I make goes to friends. It feels so good to let them know that I care through a handmade gift. Also I love the challenge that crochet brings. When I see a pattern and I’m able to make it, it makes me feel good knowing that I was able to conquer it. Crochet also makes me feel relaxed in a world that is anything but relaxed.
The quiet repetition is a kind of meditation for me. It helps me relax and recover from my busy, noisy day and take some time for myself.
I love that crafting brings me inner peace and gives my mind something to focus on besides anxious thoughts. It also lets me give really heartfelt and personal gifts!
I love making things for my friends and family, keeps me out of trouble (except for the amount of yarn and accessories I buy), and gives me peace when I am making something.
I love learning new crafts and refining my skills in the ones I already know. Crafting relaxes me and gives me a sense of accomplishment.
My favorite thing about crafting is when I get to share it with someone else. Whether I am teaching them or they are teaching me. I especially enjoy when I get to work with the kids in my life. Besides the fiber arts we do beading, painting, ceramics and what ever else we can think of. I wasn’t able to have my own so I have become “Aunt Bobbi” to many and love seeing the joy in their faces when they have created something.
Crafting is essentially magic. In all its various shapes and forms, crafting consists of taking one article and turning it into another. It can be turning yarn into clothing or blankets through knitting or crochet, or fabric into dresses by sewing. I have recently begun exploring woodturning where hunks of raw wood are turned into glistening bowls, vases, and platters. It’s like alchemy–turning the commonplace into something new and cherished.
I love EVERYTHING about crafting my crochet and knit pieces. I enjoy learning new stitches and techniques and the feeling of accomplishment once I’ve finished a pattern that has challenged my skill level. Creating EFA patterns with EFA yarn is especially satisfying on so many levels and doing so has upped my skill level and the enjoyment I get (from start to finish) when knitting and crocheting. Thanks for all you do for the crafting community!!!
I love the challenge of a new pattern and the satisfaction of completing a project.
I love the calm feeling I have while knitting. The process is soothing even when doing very technical stitches.
I am mostly a quilter, but learning to crochet – regardless the method, I love being able to put a part of myself into whatever I am creating.
I love crafting! It’s a place where I can just be free. I don’t have to think about all the things and I can just focus on what I’m making. When knitting specifically, I can just let my mind do its thing and I don’t have to think too much about what I’m doing
I enjoy knitting beautiful items with delicious yarn!!!
I love so many things about crafting but at the top of the list has to be the visual affirmation of seeing something beautiful developing under your own hands. As a knitter and quilter, I have a myriad of design possibilities to pursue in each project. So exciting!
Crafting is my zen and the best way I have of de-stressing. I do many fiber crafts and I’m looking forward to retiring in a few years so that I have time to teach some of them.
I love the calming nature I get when knitting or crocheting. It’s a stress reliever for me.
I’m a knitter and knitting just relaxes and rejuvenates me❣️
These colors are stunning! They make me think of spring, which I am so looking forward to! I think the thing I love most about crafting is the end product of what I make. I crochet, sew, do art and embroidery, so it also keeps me busy most of the time. I just love seeing what I can create.
I love the freedom that knitting/crafting gives me to add a personal touch to handmade items.
I love that it keeps my hands occupied – and it keeps me off my phone!
Knitting allows me to create something no one else has made. Others may have used the same pattern, but they’ve not made with the same yarn, or used the same colour, or made the same tiny mistakes or put in the same intentions as I have. I love giving these unique gifts to friends and family who appreciate them and knitting for charities and thinking about the people who will use the items I’ve knit for them.
Crafting is my time to relax and escape. I love making beautiful things and giving handmade gifts
Crafting is a me time thing for me …. But also very relaxing …. And important to keep my hands busy
It’s so relaxing after a hard days work. For me it allows all my feelings and thoughts to drift from my mind.
Crafting stills the world around me, allows my brain to breath, and adds something creative in my day, even just for a few minutes.
I love the idea that I’m creating something. I especially love being productive when I’m waiting around.
I like the crafting because it gives me another kind of relaxation. It has some calming effect on my mind and brings me joy when the project is finished.
I enjoy crafting because you can make something beautiful out of something else: take a ball of yarn and make a sweater, shawl, scarf, blanket. Take a piece of paper and fold it, or glue it and make something. It gets your imagination and creativity flowing and you never know what you’ll end up with.
I really love how crocheting relaxes me, it is so satisfying to do. Thank You for the possibility to enter the giveaway.
I have a stressful job and I’m a single mother, for me crafting is a way to calm myself after a hard day and take some time for myself. My love language is also giving gifts so the crafting also helps me show my feelings when I can’t think or find the words to say them.
Crafting is so meditative for me. I am really good at small repetitive tasks and they help center me. While I have really struggled with my health and energy the last few years, crafting has been a great escape for me, to help me feel a little active and engaged
Crafting is so many things for me:
A way to express myself
A way to relax and unwind
A way to make some thing useful or just decorative for my home
A way to make gifts for others
A way to make clothing or accessories for myself
A way to have fun
A way to meet and connect with other
And if I’m lucky it’s a way to make the world a little better and happier
Crafting is exercise for the brain, and yoga for the heart.
I love the feelings of accomplishment and pride when you’ve created something beautiful. The act itself I also love, bc crafting for me is very calming. 🧡🧡
I love crafting because it allows the creativity I hold inside the opportunity to come out and express those feelings in a tangible garment. The act of crafting allows me to take time for myself and shut out the anxiety and pressures of the day. It’s ME time. And we all need that!
Hiya Chandi! I love that crafting centers me! I have BiPolar and ADHD and some other things, and my crafts all help keep me centered and focused throughout my days!!
I love knitting as it is relaxing, while I can produce unique gifts for family and friends.
Beautiful yarns. Thank you for your generosity!
Crafting gives me peace, I work In a loud and busy store so when I come home I need the time to wind down. I make a cup of tea sit in my sofa an grab my knitting of crochet project and injoy me-time.
I enjoy crafting because it gives me time to relax, and it helps me get my mind off the worries of the day. Plus, when each project is done, I either have something to give someone else, or I have a beautiful item for myself.
I love giving my hands something to do while I’m relaxing, and at the end of it I have a beautiful product that wasn’t there before.
Crafting: be it knit or crochet is the simple joy of turning a string into something of substance by my own hands. When I was a young girl I would spend time untangling kite string. It was a sense of an accomplishment to complete.
I love that when I craft something, I enjoy both the process and the finished item
Hello. What I like about crafting is the chance to let my creativity flow. Coming up with cool, innovative color themes. Stuff that actually makes you feel something, or makes you go hmmm. 😁Hehe.
Crafting for me is the perfect relaxation from my stressful work
Crafting allows me to express my inner creative self. I take pride and joy in singular, disjointed items becoming a cohesive and beautiful, usable, and/or enjoyable product of passion and art. Additionally, to be able to craft an item by yourself, with your own hands, feels incredibly empowering and somehow strings us together to the past, when fewer items held more value, were made well, and with love.
The joy in knowing I am human, I can do it and seeing that end-product!
What I love about crafting is making something with my own hands. It’s also my time away from screens.
I enjoy creating to keep this beautiful ART alive for generations to come.
HI Chandi and team!
Crafting gives me a feeling of relaxation, sometimes meditation but also keeping my hands busy while I watch a movie or series or while I’m listening to music. And when something is finished giving me the wonderful feeling of knowing that I made something that I really love.
I like crafting because I can be creative, productive by making beautiful things and not feel guilty about not something else and MAYBE make a little cash along the way. It passes the time and I enjoy it. When you’re done with it it’s nice to be able to look at it and see what you have done with just a very long strand of yarn.
Crafting provides the opportunity to be expressive, creative, and enjoy both the process and the product.
The support of fellow craftspeople is most appreciated – through both challenges and successes.
I love the escape it gives me. I can free my mind of all my worries and make something that will hopefully b beautiful
Crafting is relaxing, creative, just plain fun!
I love my ability to create things. I enjoy thinking through knitting challenges and being able to find solutions.
Crafting helps me wind down at the end of the day.
I knit, I crochet and that’s about it when it comes to crafting for me. I am also a photographer so I use that “eye” when it comes to colour swatches and choosing
just what is right. The sense of accomplishment at a finished article is second to none.
Love to crochet! It is very relaxing for me! You have beautiful yarn!
Crafting just gives me time to relax and take a breath from any craziness in life
Crafting gives me calm and at the end you end up with something beautiful that you created. My favorite part is probably the yarn tho. The feel of it, the colors, it’s the best!
What I love about crafting is getting a chance to work with color to create beauty and emotion. Combining colors brings you the spirit of the seasons or time of day or memories…much like music does. But it lasts longer for the beholder and is less intrusive to others than music can be. But it’s just as meditative and relaxing and mood altering.
Crafting allows me to be creative and gives me respite from my worries. Knitting helps me relax.
I find it relaxing, most of the time!
Hi!
Crafting to me, is me time. It’s soothing and allows me to relax.
Also it gets me off of my phone which is a huge issue.
Not really a “crafter”,just love knitting, & you taught me how because I was “clueless”!!!!!
I believe that humans are intended to be creative. Creating feeds the soul of the crafter and the recipients and viewers of the creative outcome.
Knitting is my primary craft; it is meditative as well as creative. I love the feel of high quality yarn (EFA yarn!) moving across my hands and I love to watch the patterns emerge as the entire project grows to completion. I also sew and occasionally do some paper crafts. I know how to crochet and occasionally do a crochet project, but knitting is my favorite.
Crafting is both relaxing and motivating for me. Crafting with yarn in particular, it’s a constant source of joy and accomplishment!
Going through the whole process of making something. How a single thread can become a blanket or sweater.
I love crafting because it gives me a mental break. I am a full time sahm, my husband travels for 3-4 weeks at a time so crafting is my little me time, my littlw break from my very demanding roll as stay at home momma. And o get to see my babies in hand made clothes which makes my heart sing!
Crocheting and knitting bring so much joy and satisfaction in creating something from a ball or two of yarn! ❤️
I love experimenting and the whole creative process. I love playing an idea in my head and using luxurious yarns to figure out what stitches will create that idea.
The best thing about crafting is to make something that is just for me!
What do I love about crafting? It fulfills something deep in my soul. The creativity i engage when choosing a project, learning a skill, overcoming an obstacle… This is a kind of mindfulness that is incredibly positive. I believe when we create something, we get in touch with a part of our humanity that was designed in the image of our Creator. It is a spiritual gift that brings joy and I am so grateful to enjoy the process.
I love the fact that I can make something to my own specifications – as an example, knitting a sweater with an eye catching shoulder design or adding shaping where there isn’t any in the pattern.
For me, crafting is the time that I stop doing everything else and sit down and calm my mind and create! I love that I can take a string and make something beautiful!
Why do I love crafting? I like the creative outlet, I like working with my hands, I love the sensual nature of it with colors and textures and sometimes scents. It is also grounding, a way to be in the present moment.
Crafting keeps me sane 😅
It’s that bit of me time we all need so much, and at the end you made something amazing.
Why do I love crafting? I started using knitting to help with my anxiety while out in public and it has become my go to zen when my mind starts to run away or doom spiral. The soft texture of these yarns just giving all of the endorphins.
It’s so much more than just crafting to me, I’m able to escape. I suffer from PTSD (military and personally related) and until I started crocheting I had nothing that helped me, and I tried everything, and I mean everything. I can sit and just be, I never thought I’d have that again. Of course I also love the fact that such beautiful things can be created.
For me, crafting means a time of relaxation. At the same time, however, I feel a positive tension to finally finish the piece and wear it. When I am sitting, I am knitting or crocheting.
Crafting gives me a sense of accomplishment, a way to express what **I** feel is beautiful, as well as a relaxing pastime that keeps me from eating myself out of house and home while watching TV 🙂
I love the fact I can take something like string and make it into something beautiful.
I love making things to gift them to others. Something truly unique that couldn’t be purchased off the rack
I love and enjoy crafting because it’s fun, and soothing. It offers a sense of accomplishment, and its just great for the soul. Oh, and Happy Valentines day everyone😊
I am a crafter, a self taught crocheter as a kid and last year learned knitting thru Chandi’s videos. Love your color choices and patterns. Wish I lived in Charlotte, I would apply for your open position! Thank you for all the inspiration and give a ways you do!
Crafting is my way to relax, explore, and many times over gifting to others. It’s been a huge part of my life since I was 12. I started with embroidery, sewing and needlepoint and it continued from there, just about any needlecraft especially.
Crafting has been a major part of my life for over 50 years, I have knit/crochet my way through good times and bad and find it soothes the soul and fills the need to be doing something.
primarily, I like creating things. It’s also such a nice escape to focus in on something for a few hours and doing a bunch of little things that make a neat thing that you can say “I made myself” 🙂
I’ve been a crafter most of my life. It’s generally calming for me and I love being able to create from different materials. I also love gifting many of the things I make.
I love the creativity and the accomplishments from finishing projects.
I get to make someone happy with a handmade item/blanket. I make a lot of blankets.
I love the ability to create something out of nothing. Crocheting is like magic. A few ingredients are needed to create something magical and unique.
I like the unique pieces that I can create with crafting.
Crafting – especially knitting and crocheting – makes me calm, grounded, totally stress-free. Sometimes I have the feeling that I knit more for the knitting – for the process of creating something – than for the finished piece.
I appreciate the process of yarn being transformed into an item – be it a dishcloth, a shawl, or a sweater. Very soothing and beneficial to my physical, emotional, and mental health.
One bonus of my retirement is the time to pick up knitting again and teach myself how to crochet. I love the directions of all your patterns and challenging myself to learn new techniques and stitches. Finding your website has introduced me to the most amazing yarns. I love working with them.
Knitting and crocheting help me to relieve stress. I enjoy the peace and calm they bring.
I started crocheting about 7 months ago and I love how it’s so calming. I’ve learned so much since I’ve started, and not just different stitches and techniques; I’ve learned about patience and persistence. There’s such great joy when you finish your last stitch!
I love the feeling I get when I create something beautiful with my hands!
I love how it helps my mind focus and it calms me.
I learned knitting when I was in primary school and continued yarn projects with my mam throughout the years. Knitting and crochet give me feel-good, homely vibes as well as a product that I can see and touch, something I miss in my job.
Knitting quiets my mind and occupies my hands so I can focus on being present in the moment
I love that my own two hands can make something beautiful!
Crafting for me provides purpose – I’m sonthankful for it
I wasn’t going to enter this month, then i saw the Cordial Crema Sock.
I was in a bit of a slump lately, but started a poncho last week with the Nublado DK. I’m so glad I did. Thank you for all the wonderful yarns and weekly patterns.
Crafting gives me refreshing nourishment and creativity.
I love that crafting clears my mind and calms me. Crafting is my mental therapy.
I craft because I love learning new techniques, its relaxing, and I can give beautiful gifts that I couldn’t afford to buy. And those yarn colors are just beautiful.
Hi Chandi,
I just love this moment: when I look at what I have knitted today and feel absolutely content and happy! Even when I have only managed to get four rows in 🙂 It’s my favourite thing about crafting!
Crafting helps me stay focused and relaxed. Crochet while watching movies is my favorite pastime!
Hi Chandi! I love crafting because it provides an opportunity to learn something new, or practice a skill I have. Seeing a beautiful result is such a joy!
Yarn crafting for me is a sensual, soul-satisfying meditation which calms, renews, focuses my mind, teaches, invents and produces a magical meld of utility and beauty. It’s rich texture under mindful fingertips, or a visual feast of color or light and shadow, the bright, cool fragrance of silk or slight warm muskiness of wool, the soft scent of cotton, the grassy freshness of linen. It’s the embedded blessings and armor of Crone wisdom and amulet, bestowed by my love as a protectorate of recipient friends, family or charity strangers. It boosts my brain power and immunity, relieves anxiety, reduces inflammation, satisfies my creative urge. It’s a gift I give myself that gives so much back! How could I not craft?!
My love for knitting is the creative process along with the relaxing repetition of my knitting needles clicking away at something beautiful. And all the yummy yarn colors I get to work with.
I’ve been a crafter for most of my life, but have not always had the time or energy to do it as much as I’ve wanted to. Now that I’ve retired, I can craft full-time, and it’s so much fun to have several projects going at once — I’m satisfying my creative side with the knowledge that I’m also being productive! It’s a win-win 🙂
My favourite thing about crafting is the finished product. Holding something in your hands that you made yourself. So fullfilling.
I love the time crafting to create things and the joy when a project is done.
What I like most about crafting is gifting. I choose a pattern and the yarn that fits the person then sitting and thinking about them as it’s created. It keeps my people close. I recently made stitch markers for a friend who’s remembering how to knit. She’s about 600 miles away and we work through her challenges over the internet. Fun
Thank you again for a chance to win your beautiful yarns
Debbie
Crafting is a very positive thing to be busy with 😋
I really love crafting! I love working with yarn, choosing the right color palette for patterns. I love the process of work and the result. To make something beautiful, unique, and useful with your own hands, what could be better?
I have been doing handicrafts since childhood. Now I am already an old woman. At first, I made paper flowers to sell them on the street. This was after the Second World War. I was a child. This is how I helped my mother earn money for food. When I grew up, I learned all types of needlework. I am a professional seamstress. But now I mostly crochet toys and interior attributes; I knit clothes for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I can’t imagine my life without handicrafts! Thank you for the chance to win your wonderful yarn!
Love making things and someone asking where I bought it. Makes me feel good.
