I have followed you on FB for a long time. I would love to win this giveaway, because it is purple; and the yarn is beautiful. I am a weaver volunteer at a Spanish Colonial History Museum, El Rancho de las Golondrinas, near Santa Fe, NM. Our volunteers spin and dye wool from our churro sheep. This is the Summer of Color in Santa Fe, and the ranch’s color is purple. Our volunteers use Cochineal and Indigo to achieve that color. Both of the dye matters were and still are imported from Mexico. This has always made the color purple very special and expensive. Sorry for the long post, but I just had to share the info.

I just adore you! I used to be a proficient loomer in my early twenties (i.e. I went to Michaels and got a set of round plastic hoops with pegs on them and made beanies) and have recently picked it back up. I had remembered my mother showing me how to knit when I was little but never quite got the hang of it so I figured the easier the better. Well, I got up the courage to buy some needles and yarn (in addition to a new set of plastic things) and made my way home. I made a fun little hat and felt accomplished enough to try the needle thing. I got on youtube and picked your knitting for beginners tutorial. It was amazing. By the end of the video I was knitting! It took me a minute to figure out how to stop adding stitches to my little “square” but once I got the hang of it I was ready to start my first project. I might point out that after watching your tutorial and seeing the gorgeous yarn you were using I decided that the stuff at the craft store just wouldn’t do. So, I found a local yarn store and just like that, I was in heaven. The store owner was in another room spinning art yarn and I was left to my own devices in a fully stocked yarn oasis. I was home. Its been about two weeks since I started down my path of fiber artistry but Ive already managed to develop a significant addiction. I am now the proud owner of three sets of quality needles and a crochet hook, I have photo shoots with my newly acquired skeins of yarn, and I have about three projects going to keep me busy. I haven’t been this excited about a new craft since…well…probably ever! Long story short, I appreciate you so much. I think I’ve watched every one of your videos and I can’t wait to start taking this new passion to the next level. Thank you for being such an inspiration.

P.S. Its amazing to hear you come from the beauty industry as well. Aside from the plethora of other jobs I’ve had over the years, I currently work as a hair stylist in Atlanta.
P.P.S. I used to live in Charlotte as well! It is by far one of my favorite places and the place I would love to finally put down some roots.
