Hello, my sweet friend! Today, I have a super fun knitted sock pattern to share with you. These gorgeous seed stitch and cabled socks will make your tootsies feel warm and cozy! Keep reading to learn all about them!

The Mikrokosmos socks were designed by Gazal Mohammed. When asked about the inspiration for this design, Gazal said, “While designing these socks, I found myself drawn to the quiet beauty of the old buildings around my city. The ancient columns, the delicate latticework on the windows, they all held a story. I took those little details, the curves and the patterns, and knit them into every stitch.”

“What I love most is how these socks feel like a little piece of the city – elegant enough to wear while wandering its streets, yet cozy enough for quiet moments at home. They’re a soft reminder that inspiration is everywhere, even in the walls we pass by every day.”

This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include increases, decreases, small-circumference knitting, picking up stitches, working two stitch patterns simultaneously (front and back), Kitchener stitch seaming, and changing colors. The pattern includes written and charted instructions.

The Mikrokosmos socks are available in three sizes S, M, and L, which correspond to US women’s sizes: 6 – 7.5 (8”/20.5 cm at cuff), 8 – 9.5 (8.5”/21.5 cm at cuff), and 10 – 12 (9”/23 cm at cuff). The sample shown here was made with Purple Crocus Resilient Sock and Unicorn Sprinkles Resilient Sock colors. One skein of each color is needed for all sizes. However, if you are knitting the socks in just one color, you may need two skeins for the largest size.
