Hello, my sweet friend! Today, I have a delightfully sweet knitted sock pattern to share with you. These lovely, lacy cuff-down socks are the perfect on-the-go portable project! Keep reading to learn all about them!

The Abscission socks were designed by Kayla Baldwin. When asked about the inspiration for this design, Kayla said, “Named after graceful, falling leaves in autumn, these socks feature cascading leaves flowing gently down the foot. Worked from the top down and using simple lace stitches, these socks are an ideal combination of beautiful and effortless. Knit these socks in fresh spring or warm autumn colors for an easy addition to your sock drawer. Falling leaves usually symbolize embracing change, and I hope these socks bring new life and vitality to your knitting!”

This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting socks and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include lace, centered double decrease (CDD), and general sock construction. The pattern includes written and charted instructions.

The Abscission socks are knitted with our CashSilk Sock yarn, which is a heavenly blend of 75% Superwash Merino Wool, 15% Cashmere, and 10% Silk. It’s a dreamy soft, luxurious sock yarn that’s warm, cuddly, squishy, and strong with the tiniest hint of glow and 410 yds/375 m per skein. It has a 4-ply structure that results in round, beautifully defined stitches, which is perfect for long-wearing items like sweaters and socks!

The Abscission socks are available in three sizes: S, M, and L, which correspond to US women’s sizes: 7 (8, 9.25)” / 18 (21.3, 23.5) cm. You’ll want to choose a size with approximately 1” / 2.5 cm of negative ease in circumference when measured around the ball of the foot. The sample shown here was knitted with one skein of Quail Eggs CashSilk Sock. Depending on the size you select, you’ll need approximately 204 (246, 300) yds / 187 (225, 275) m.
