Hello, sweet soul! This week, I have a stunning, knitted sweater pattern that I think you’ll adore! This lovely pullover features a gorgeous cable design and thoughtful details to ensure a perfect fit. Keep reading to learn more about it!
Tribute was designed by Debi Maige. When asked about this pattern, Debi said, “In 2014, I received an invitation from Tonya of Rowe’s Patterns and Gifts to do some test knitting for her. I gladly accepted, proceeded to test knit several of her sock patterns, and she returned the favor when I began my design journey. My favorite is her Damask sock pattern, and while wearing them recently, it hit me that the stitch pattern would be beautiful in a sweater. I immediately contacted Tonya, asked her permission to design a sweater around her stitch design, she said YES, and my tribute to Damask was born.”
“Tribute is a bottom up tee with a beautiful central panel flanked by easy, but effective cables. The body is split and then worked flat for front and back. Shoulders are joined with a three-needle bind off, and sleeves are picked up at the armhole and worked down. The finishing touch is a 1 x 1 Twisted Rib at the hems and neckline.”
“I love how this community has made it possible to build lasting, supportive friendships even though you may never meet face to face. So, thank you, Tonya, and here’s to many, many more years of friendship!”
This Advanced level pattern is for the adventurous knitter who loves to tackle something a bit more complicated. Skills/concepts include cables, chart reading, decreasing, and garment sizing. The pattern includes written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic. You will need to be able to read a chart to knit this sweater.
Tribute is knitted with our luxurious Moongleam Fingering yarn, which is a soft and silky blend of 50% cotton and 50% mulberry silk. Just heavenly! This 2-ply, fingering weight yarn is glowing and buttery and perfect for a variety of projects. Shawls and scarves are fantastic, as are sweaters, blankets, home items, and more! Breathable and light and amazing for warmer climates with 437 yds/400 m per skein.
The pattern is offered in sizes XS (S, M, L) (XL, 2XL, 3XL) (4XL, 5XL), which correspond to finished bust measurements of 32 (36.25, 40.25, 44.5) (48, 54.5, 58) (62.25, 65.75)”/ 81.5 (92, 101.5, 113) (122, 138.5, 147.5) (158, 167) cm. The sweater is designed to be worn with 2-4” / 5-10 cm of positive ease.
Our sample was knitted with Maple Moongleam Fingering and is shown in a size Small, modeled on a 34″ (86 cm) bust with 2.25″ (5.5 cm) of positive ease. You’ll need three to seven skeins of Moongleam Fingering depending on the size you select.
