Hello, my sweet friend! Today, I have a lovely, lacy knitted sock pattern to tell you about. These sweetly romantic socks will make your feet do a wee happy dance! I hope you’ll keep reading to learn all about them!
The Susie socks were designed by Pam Meek. When asked about this design, Pam said, “I love making socks. They are the perfect travel knitting project. You can pop them into your bag and pull them out whenever you are waiting for an appointment. My mom Susie is often the recipient of my sock projects. I often give her a pair for Christmas, her birthday, or Mother’s Day. This design, named in her honor, features a column of leaves along the outside and an Eye of Partridge heel for a bit of interest. Whether plain or fancy, her socks are always stitched with love.”
This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include working in the round, lace stitches, sock construction and shaping, and Kitchener stitch.
The Susie socks are knitted with our luxurious Crema Sock yarn, which is a dreamy blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool and 30% Mulberry Silk. This base takes the dye incredibly well, which results in fabulous, hand-dyed shades. Crema Sock is a 4-ply yarn that is bouncy and long-lasting, as well as soft and squishy. With gorgeous drape, excellent structure, a soft hand, and a subtle glow, this yarn is lovely for socks, shawls, sweaters, accessories, blankets, baby items, and so much more! Truly, this yarn has it all with 350 yds/320 m per skein!
The Susie socks come in three sizes S (M, L), which correspond to approximately 7” (7.5”, 8”) leg circumference when blocked and un-stretched. All sizes are approximately 6” long from cuff bottom to top of heel flap, and the leg length is adjustable. Refer to the Notes in the pattern for help finding your size.
The Susie socks shown here were knitted with our Alluring Aquamarine Crema Sock color. You’ll need one to two skeins of Crema Sock to knit these socks, depending on if any modifications are made.
The pattern includes written and charted instructions. You must know how to read a chart to knit this pattern.
