Hello, beautiful soul! Today, I have an oh-so snuggly knitted blanket pattern to share with you. This cozy design features a fun stitch pattern and a lovely gradient fade throughout! I know you’re going to enjoy knitting this quick-to-stitch blanket, so keep reading to learn all about this week’s new pattern!

Kathleen was designed by Anne Robinson. When asked about the inspiration for this pattern, she said, “Kathleen is the ultimate knitted blanket. Worked in Expression Fiber Arts Buttery Bulky, it knits up quickly, making it the perfect weekend project. The garter stitch border outlines the piece, as well as acting as a divider for squares of Herringbone pattern. I named the piece Kathleen after Kathleen Kelly in the classic rom-com, You’ve Got Mail. Kathleen’s house is the perfect blend of cozy and classic; this blanket, thrown over the back of a winged armchair, would feel right at home.”

This is an Adventurous Beginner level pattern that is perfect for knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include knit, purl, and Herringbone stitch pattern. This pattern includes written instructions only and comes with a video tutorial showing how to knit this design.

Kathleen is knitted with our snuggly Buttery Bulky yarn. Soft, squishy, and delightfully bouncy, this yarn is made from 100% Superwash Superfine Merino Wool. No itch, no scratch, just pure, cuddly comfort! Each plump, two-ply strand blooms into stitches that are full, cozy, and beautifully defined, like tiny pillows of warmth nestled together. Buttery Bulky works up quickly into snuggly sweaters, chunky scarves, and wrap-me-up blankets that feel like the toastiest winter hug. Each squishable skein offers 120 yds/110 m of soft, cloud-like bliss to keep your hands and heart warm all season long.

The sample shown here was knitted with four skeins each of colors: A): Alcott, B) Lavender Tea, C) Mercury Retrograde, and D) Conch Shell Buttery Bulky. The sample used approximately 1,920 yds/1,760 m total (480 yds/440 m EACH of Colors A, B, C, and D).

We made a video tutorial showing how to knit this pattern. Take a look!
