Hello, my lil’ cutie patootie! Today, I have a cuddly, cozy, oversized knitted cardigan to share with you. On cold, blustery days, it’s the perfect piece to snuggle up in. I hope you’ll read on to learn all about it!

Wintergladden was designed by Cari Jehlik. When asked about this design, Cari said, “Time to get excited about cold temperatures! This oversize chunky sweater will have you wishing for snow and ice and all things cold. Knit on big needles with chunky yarn, Wintergladden is a relatively quick knit, and you’ll be delighted to cozy up in it. Finally, something to be glad about for winter!”

Wintergladden is made with our soft and squishy, Limited Edition Restore Chunky yarn. Restore Chunky is a unique, upcycled yarn. When our mill spins up luxury yarns, there are often leftover fibers. So we asked them to gather their fiber tidbits and spin them into this yarn base, so nothing goes to waste. Restore Chunky is a blend of 36% alpaca, 37% wool, and 27% Viscose with 109 yds/100 m per 100-gram skein. Soft, scrumptiously delightful, and works up quickly!

Wintergladden is offered in sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) [5, 6, 7] {8, 9, 10, 11} 12, which correspond to the following bust measurements: 26 (30, 34, 38) [42, 46, 50] {54, 58, 62, 66} 70”/ 66 (76, 86.5, 96.5) [106.5, 117, 127] {137, 147.5, 157.5, 167.5} 178 cm. The sweater is designed to be worn with 8”–10” (20–25 cm) of positive ease in the body and 4” (10 cm) of positive ease in the sleeves. This is an oversized sweater, so don’t be afraid to size up.

This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques.
