Hello, beautiful! This week, I have a simple, crochet cardigan that is perfect for sunny Spring days or for layering in cooler weather. I hope you’ll keep reading to learn more about it.

Omorose was designed by Michelle Ferguson. When asked about this pattern, Michelle said, “The Omorose cardigan is a beginner friendly, top down yoke cardigan. It has a simple fit with slightly ballooned sleeves. Omorose uses very basic crochet stitches and only a small amount of decreasing. The name Omorose is an Egyptian name that means beautiful.'”

This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for those crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include single crochet, half double crochet, hdc2tog, and sc2tog. The pattern is offered in sizes XS – 5XL

The updated version of Omorose was made with our new, Limited Edition Affirmation Worsted yarn. This 100% wool blend includes a mix of various types of wool and features a more “rustic” feel, while still remaining scrumptiously soft. This yarn is ideal for next-to-skin accessories or sweaters, sweet baby items, blankets, and so much more, and has 210 yds/192 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.

The updated sample shown here was crocheted with color I Am Loved Affirmation Worsted. You’ll need the following amounts (yardage/skeins) of Affirmation Worsted, depending on the size you select: 1299 (7), 1462 (7), 1624 (8), 1786 (9), 1949 (10), 2111 (11), 2274 (11), 2436 (12), 2599 (13)

The original version of Omorose was made with our Limited Edition Nublado DK, which is a beautiful DK weight yarn. In Spanish, Nublado means “cloudy.” This super unique yarn has a frothy, heathered appearance due to the Merino wool being whipped around and throughout the undyed cotton core, which creates a subtle, tufted halo. This yarn is a blend of 80% Pima cotton and 20% Merino wool with 273 yds/250 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.

The sample shown here was crocheted with color Lavanda Nublado DK and is a size Small modeled on a 34″ (86 cm) bust with 2″ (5 cm) of positive ease. You’ll need five to 10 skeins, depending on the size you select. This beautiful cardigan can also be crocheted with any of our other DK weight or worsted weight yarns.

Both yarn bases are Limited Edition yarns, so be sure to order all you need for your project. When these yarns are gone, they’re gone for good!

We made a video showing how to work the ribbing in this pattern. Take a look!
