I love working with almost every kind of yarns. And all the colours. I love the diversity that emulates creativity.
Superbe fil, photo et couleur
My stash would indicate that I like worsted weight, but I’ve progressed to the lighter yarns lately because I’m making more shawls. I also seem to have more blues than any other colors. It’s interesting what your stash can say about you.
DK is my sweet spot choice. So many beautiful patterns use DK. I love making cardigans and sweaters. DK has a wonderful drape. The color choices you offer are just my style🤗
I also use a lot if worsted for warmth!
I like a lot of verity in my life. It all has to do with how I feel at the moment. Do I feel like making a sweater or a blanket or something to hang on my wall. Or what someone may want me to make lol. But right now I have to say fingering weight. I have a few of your beautiful tops I am wanting to make. With you lovely yarns.
I use mostly fongering weight but I need to get my sport and dk weight stash built up☺️
I use whatever weight yarn I just want yarn:> cus I’m poor so please!
My favorite weight to work with is fingering. I love the light weight material it produces.
I like working with worsted weight the most because it’s versatile but I also like a light DK too. The giveaway looks beautiful for this month.
I like them all! I probably use either fingering or worsted most, depending on my mood & what I’m making.
Because the spring is influencing all my decisions, I am leaning more toward the fingering weights. BUT! All the weights are fabulous and beautiful. They have a feel while working with them that is soothing.
I can’t choose a favorite weight, I love them all! I’ve worked with worsted weight but have recently been enamored by the fingering yarns. I also love bulky for beanies and scarves for my Colorado family 😁
I’ve been really liking how fingering weight projects feel lately, so I’d say that’s my current favorite weight.
I prefer to use DK or Worsted weight yarns. Fingering and sport are too small for my fat fingers to grab on to. I normally double these weights up.
Beautiful colors and great selection! I have fallen in love with all of your yarn. Lately i have been favoring dk or worsted for its versatility.
I have loved all the weights of your yarns I usually prefer DK but did the past year KAL and liked sport weight also. Been knitting alot lately due to husbands sickness with cancer Knitting has been my therapy
I use fingering weight the most, but I like all weights. Not much experience with chunky though.
Working with fingering weight yarn is my personal favorite! I love the drapey, lightweight fabric it produces and knowing that I spent many hours to create the countless stitches that comprise a fingering weight garment!
I’ve always loved fingering weight yarn the most. I think it’s because the stitches are so tiny and make for a beautiful product. My huge stash testifies to this!
I’ll work with any weight. I usually have a fingering/sport weight project on the needles which may take a while, and then I have worsted or bulky projects that work up quicker as well. DK is sort of in the middle, I might use it for a quicker project when I have a complex fingering weight project going, or it could be the complex project while I crank out some bulky cowls for gifts. I rarely use lace or super bulky yarns.
Before : lace. It creates the best shawls.
Latest: DK. The baby blanket grows so fast and is so fluffy and cozy.
My favorite is fingering weight. The light touch on my hand while working it, and the drape and feel of the finished product 🥰
My favorite yarn is worsted weight.
Hello, I don’t really have a favorite yet in regards to yarn weight. But pretty much anything purple catches my eye, hehe. So uhm purple yarn weight, new category 😂
I like different yarn weights for different projects. I like a worsted or bulky for blankets. I like a fingering for shawls. I just love yarn.
I’m still new to yarn and haven’t used many types, but so far have enjoyed to sport weight. Looking forward to trying others.
I love all kind off yarn. Startet white crocheting and now learning knitting. Its so relaxing and fun to work white yarn and se what i can create( sorry for bad spelling from Sweden)
Sport or DK, works up faster then fingering, but not as bulky as a worsted for socks.
The yarn weight I prefer to knit with is fingering, sport or DK, because of the lighter fabric of the knitwear as well as my hands feeling most comfortable working with the corresponding needle sizes
I’m currently loving heavier weight yarns – we’re just coming out of winter in Scotland, and working with aran/chunky weight yarns means my lap stays nice and warm while I’m working on a project!
Looking forward to doing some finer work as we move into spring, though!
Working with luxurious fibres is a treat! I like projects with 2-3mm hooks, and lacy patterns are my favourite patterns.
I pretty much use any and all types of yarn
I would love to win but understand not everyone can win
You do beautiful work
Have a blessed weekend
I just started fairly recently into crochet, but I love working with worsted weight yarn, as I find it to be the most flexible of the weights for my purposes!
Hi love to work with fingering and DK weight, because normally are lighter and warmer at the same time.
I love a good Sport weight yarn. It can be used for so many things for year round wear.
I love using fingering weight for lighter fabric and intricate lace or color work designs. But it’s nice to switch things up and quickly crank out a bulky knit too.
I like different yarn weights for different projects. BUT at this time, I like DK for crichet cozy sweaters. Every once in a while, I get addicted to a certain yarn thickness. It depends on the project I worked on. It’s a yarn world, my candies.
I’m still a beginner to knitting and crochet, and i like all sizes of yarns, but mostly use DK since I’m crocheting blankets mostly.
According to my Ravelry stash, fingering is by far and away my favorite weight. I love how flexible and versatile fingering weight yarn is—I’m currently working on a marled sweater with Oasis held double and it’s GLORIOUS.
I’m super into whatever weight I’m currently using. I love fingering and then I’ll do a project with sport and only want to do those projects. I’m currently using enduring worsted and I can’t imagine using anything else.
These days I find myself gravitating toward laceweight, something I at first thought I would never knit. I love how light and ethereal the finished knits are.
I would say that dk is my absolute favorite weight of yarn with fingering coming in as second favorite. I love dk for garments, not to heavy, not to light, just right!
The colors in the giveaway are so beautiful this month, a beautiful pallette for a cold snowy day.
My usual go to is DK weight. Not too heavy and not too light
I like them all!
My overall favorite is definitely DK/sport, though it really depends on the fabric type I’m working on (lace, textured, etc.). Fingering to lace isn’t quite as much fun for the actual process of knitting because I can’t feel it as much sliding through my fingers, but the end product is so nice and light and soft. Worsted and bulky are nice and squishy and work so well for textured patterns. DK is thick enough to have squishiness and good texture, but still light enough to have that daintier effect, and not be too heavy. It pairs beautifully with variegation, to get just the right amount of color change per area. It’s the perfect middle grounds.
I love fingering weight because I love the detailed lace, cable, and colorwork patterns you can knit with them. However, I think dk weight is my favorite for sweaters because it provides warmth without the bulkiness of heavier yarns.
My favorite yarn weight to work with is weight 10! It’s so light and makes the most beautiful patterns
My favorite weight would have to be lace since my favorite yarn base is your Alpaca Silk Lace. I love how lacy and drapey my items are in lace and fingering weights.
I love worsted, it always just seems so cozy and warm no matter what you make. I do love too that it makes whatever I’m working on make up real fast so that’s just a nice plus. I have really started to like working with DK as well, I love the lightness and flow it has.
I have loved each and every fiber I have ordered thus far; however. I recently tried Luster Worsted (Every Which Way Shawl) and I’m really enjoying it. I tend to knit with fingering most of the time but now I have to try all of the other worsteds. I guess if I had to pick an absolute favorite, it would be Alpaca Silk. Thanks for all you and your staff do. And Tim too!
I love all weights but absolutely love fingering. The versatility of this yarn is amazing. Thank you for producing such beautiful colors! They make my knitting MOJO very happy!
I just started working with fingering yarn, and I love it. I like the lighter weight and the drape. In the works I have 3 projects, all 3 are your patterns. I love Worsted and Fingering yarns.
All weights are great, because they all have a purpose. I like woolen preps, because the squishier the better! But, worsted are so shiny and soft. How do you pick a favorite?
DK is my goldilocks weight- not too big, not too small, juuuuuust right. I just love the drape of fabric made with a lighter weight!
I love lace & fingering weights because of the yardage. Anything to cut down on the number of ends to weave in, LOL! Thanks for such beautiful offerings & for your generosity.
I love variety in yarn weights. I use a lot of fingering weight, but then sometimes I just need a faster project in much heavier yarn.!
My favorite yarn weight to work with is worsted/medium weight yarn. I find that it’s versatile and easy to work with for a variety of projects and is also readily available in a wide range of colors and fibers, making it suitable for many different types of projects. Additionally, the thickness of worsted weight yarn allows for quick progress on projects.
Hi, my favorite yarn weight is fingering or light sport (425-350m/100g). The most projects come good with this type. I can use it for socks, shawls, if put two strings together a hat or earprotect. Also it is good to work a light shirt or top for the summer but also perfect choise for a pullover and cardigan.
I primarily use worsted and fingering. I love your fingering weight, so soft and easy to work with. But ultimately I’m still exploring and experimenting different fibers and weights so my absolute favorite is to be determined.
My favorite weight is DK (CYC #3) because it’s light enough to have a lovely hand and drape well, but heavy enough that it doesn’t take *forever* to make up larger projects.
Usually my favorite yarn weight is a DK or worsted weight, but I’m starting to love smaller weights, as well! I used to think fingering and sport weight were too delicate and small for my clumsy fingers, but they’re just gorgeous and a delight to crochet with! Plus I LOVE your pearlescent fingering yarn since it is a roving 1 ply – just makes my heart swoon!
I like to work with all types of yarn. But my favorite is sock yarn. I have a drawer full of socks and have given many as gifts.
I don’t really have a favorite yarn weight. It really depends on what I’m trying to achieve. But I guess if I had to pick one, it’d have to be heavier weight – like bulky – just because it works up faster and I’m a little impatient.
I actually like working with blanket chenille yarn, because I like to be able to make progress quickly and have something fluffy and soft to hang onto while i work. But I’m learning to appreciate fingering weight because it’s so nice for delicate details.
Hello!! I love working with worsted-weight yarn. I love the definition of the stitches. (Your crema worsted yarn is to die for!!!!)
Thank you Chandi!
I like to alternate the yarns I work with, whether in thickness or texture : I’ve just switched from a 6 ply alpaca wool to your alpaca silk lace. But I’d like to emphasize the pleasure I’ve had knitting with your Crema sock, it’s so soft, silky and easy to knit. And the result is splendid! 🙂
My go to yarn is sport wt. I just love the twisted tweed! BUT………I am participating in the crochet along this year, and have discovered I absolutely love working with the crema worsted 😃 What a beautiful yarn base and the project grows so fast!
I love working with fingering and dk! Thicker yarns sometimes hurt my hands and I get a lot more use out of thinner garments here in NC!
I love all kind of weights. I’m a slow knitter/crocheter so I always tend to have one project with lightweight yarn that will take me ages (but the end result is always worth it) and a project with thicker yarn that will work up quicker to not get discouraged.
I love all yarn weights bit recently I have been obsessed with bulky weight. I can whip up a baby blanket in a day with bulky weight yarn
DK is like my Goldilocks yarn – it’s right down the middle for me in terms of thickness and ease/speed of working with 🙂 I use it a lot for sweaters and tees.
I love working with all different ones for different reasons! Heavier ones are satisfying since they work up so fast, medium ones have so many purposes, and light ones are delicate.
My favourite is fingering weight yarn, I love it for socks, tees, sweaters and I am starting to work with DK and so far it is working lovely, thank you I love the quality and colours of your yarns.
I’d say my favorite yarn weight is medium, since it’s the one I often used and always have more of.
I love the lighter weight yarns. I run hot so don’t wear heavy things. I also think the lighter weight yarn appears airy and soft.
I’ve mostly worked with worsted but I do really like dk or fingering, haven’t really settled on a favorite yet as I haven’t tried them all! :]
I don’t have a favourite as I love the experience of working with new weights, colours, patterns, etc. I’ll try anything!
I use a lot of DK for the sheer range of colours available, but as I’ve been doing more light shawls, fingering attracting me more and more
my favorite is fingering because it’s so versatile, and for me, easier to work with than bulkier weight yarns. so, although I can’t say never, I rarely use anything larger than DK these days. But I love ALL the EFA yarn I’ve ordered…. sooo gorgeous and yummy to work with.
I love crocheting in sock yarn. I love how defined the stitches are and of course, your sock yarn is my fave!
My favorite is DK weight – it’s the goldilocks weight – not too thin, not too thick. Enjoy using this weight to knit sweaters.
I love working with dk the most because I knit a lot of sweaters and I feel like dk is the best weight for them. Not too heavy or light.
I love working with light worsted weight yarns. I started woth bulky yarns, so they’ll always hold a special place in my heart! lol But I like how thinner yarns feel while working with them and how the finished piece looks and feels.
DK weight is my favourite yarn. Not too thick and not too thin.
I wish my garden looked as beautiful as that first picture of all the yarns neatly laid out like flowers in their beds. I work with most weights of yarns, because I make garments, home dec items, blankets, shawls, hats; pretty much everything. I can’t pick a favorite, because they all have their attributes that make them work best for certain types of projects.
My favorite yarn thickness is from DK up, because I like to knit and crochet headwear.
I actually prefer to use yarn weights between lace and worsted and avoid heavier yarns where I may be required to use above a size 8 needle. The larger needles really take a toll on my fingers. DK is my favorite! Yarn color, quality and evenness of the dye is what I most appreciate from EFA.
I’ve been working a lot with fingering weight, but I’d like to branch out into other weights!
I like creating garments such as dresses and skirts .Its fingering weight when I crochet those. But for the cardigans and sweaters I like using DK weight yarn.
Stunning colours. My all time favourite would be Double Knit with 5ply sport close behind. 4ply (fingering) is starting to feature more when I do special gifts for my friends, love the weight.
I love knitting with DK weight yarn. My stitches are even and I seem to be able to hold good tension with the yarn better than a thinner weight.
I love sport or DK! I am drawn to the intricate patterns of fingering patterns and thicker yarns make for faster cozier projects. Sport and DK are the sweet spot.
I love working with all yarns, so it is hard to pick a favourite. I love to use bulky weight yarns when I am doing hats because they are quick to knit or crochet up. They are also good for doing blankets. I enjoy making jumpers with DK and the twisted tweed ones. Also the silk lace is my favourite for doing shawls.
Hi, I love DK yarn in bright colours.
I mostly knit with fingering weight, but would like to do more with sport and DK.
DK is probably my favorite. It’s quite versatile and not too bulky, yet not too light that projects take forever.
I love using all weights, but lately, for garments, DK is my favorite weight—so versatile!
I seem to be gravitating towards DK and worsted weights at the moment as I’m able to maintain my tension with these weights but not with other weights!🙈😂🧶
I love all weights of yarn, and whatever my choice is at the time of starting a new project is very much dependent on my mood. But if I had to pick just one, I’d have to go with DK – so versatile, a good solid all-rounder.
I really don’t mind what weight I work with, from lace to jumbo. Variety is the spice of life!! There are so many great projects to be crocheted and knit in all the different weights that it would be a shame to not use them all
I find myself gravitating towards DK weight yarns, their light but don’t take long to work up into a project.
Oh my goodness those greens are so beautiful, evoking the coming spring 😍
I usually work with fingering, DK, aran or chunky weight yarns, depending on the project. My favourite is aran for jumpers, fingering for shawls.
DK is my current favorite for things I make for myself or for gifts, unless I’m making a blanket or afghan.
I love working with any yarn weight, but when it comes to knitting garments, my favourite is definitely sport weight because you still get a lightweight fabric, but without the countless stitches of a fingering weight (my size is 140cm bust circumference).
Thank you for the opportunity to enter your giveaway Chandi. I just finished a pair of fingerless gloves in your beautiful resilient sock yarn. They came out beautifully! So, right now, I’m loving fingering weight yarn 🙂
My favorite is DK. It’s comfortable to handle and projects feel like they work up quickly. Very satisfying!
Thank you for the opportunity to enter your giveaway Chandi. I just finished a pair of fingerless gloves in your beautiful resilient sock yarn. They came out beautifully! So, right now, I’m loving fingering weight yarn 🙂
I love all kind of weights. I’m a slow knitter/crocheter so I always tend to have one project with lightweight yarn that will take me ages (but the end result is always worth it) and a project with thicker yarn that will work up quicker to not get discouraged.
I mostly gravitate to the lighter yarn weights – lace, fingering, sport. More comfortable to wear, and as I spend most of my time indoors, do not need anything heavy or bulky. Do knit with DK, but usually just vests/waistcoats.
I guess fingering weight is more useful, though other weights are necessary too, and I like all colors. I may say I’m dreaming of crocheting with tweed that is based on white and has a lot of red and blue speckles. Fingering weight would be good for a cardigan that looks like a little coat (I have a pattern which I desire from a coat I have). Besides that I love your yarn and patterns!
I love fingering and DK weights because they make lightweight and not too warm sweaters and shawls. Where I live it’s not so cold in winter.
I love all yarn but I enjoy anything from fingering to aran the best.
I love any kind of yarn and I’ve worked with most of it at one time or another. My thing is COLOR!! I love vibrant rich colors, soft pastels, earth tones, they’re all beautiful to me. I guess my sneaky favorite would be worsted or DK just as long as it’s got color!
I really like DK yarn (had to look up conversions lol, the weight for a 4/4.5 crochet needle) because you get somewhere in decent time, but it’s still handleable and my favourite yarn is in that weight 🙂
Usually I enjoy fingering weight for its delicateness and drape, but every now and then I’ll indulge in some chunky for a squishable project!
Fingering weight is my go to for shawls and DK for throw blankets. Love all yarn though!
I switch around…fingering to worsted weight. Also depends on what I’m making (hat, shawl, cowl)… which means I may have that beautiful color in fingering, but not in worsted. Which means…yarn shopping…(sigh…)
I’m very drawn to lace weight yarns, especially those with a high silk content, but will typically use them held double to knit up a bit quicker and create interesting yarn combinations.
I’m still getting a feel for all the different types of yarn. I haven’t tried them all but working my way through them. Looking forward to the day my projects will come out looking like Chandi’s.
Prefer DK!
Much better for our cold seasons and I spend less time on sleeve island! 😜
Happy March! I am so looking forward to spring, warm weather and new growth. It is my favorite season. My favorite weights to knit or crochet with are lace, fingering and sport. Even here in Tennessee I still wear sweaters in the warmer months so I like to have lightweight cardigans. The air conditioning makes me cold so I can’t leave the house wothout one. Thank you for the chance to win such lovely yarn, the colors remind me of spring and I am very ready for spring to get here! 😊
These days I’ve been needing to stick the heavier weight yarns due to my arthritis but I love pretty yarn in all weights!
I find I tend to acquire patterns that call for fingering or DK yarn so I’ve been using that more frequently. I enjoy the quickness of working with worsted also, but don’t have as many of those patterns
Good morning! Choosing a favorite yarn is like choosing a favorite fur baby. Bulky for quick blankets, worsted for hats and scarfs have been my go-to knitting yarns. Recently, I have been crocheting shawls with sport or DK. I have yet to try fingering or lace weight yarns which for me would probably have to be a crochet pattern. I haven’t felt confident enough yet to give lighter weight yarns a go.
I love how quickly DK works up, but the texture of fingering can’t be beat!
I what a beautiful grouping of fibers! I like to work with sock weight yarn for the most part but because I make charity hats I use a lot of worsted weight, often even combining two strands ofsock weight into one.
I’ve been working with worsted weight yarns from my stash over the winter and finishing up a simple scarf of acrylic/wool blend. I’m looking at patterns and charts for some spring/summer shawls or maybe a ruana with some fingering yarns I have. I like to have lightweight projects to work on when it’s too warm to have a big blanket/sweater project on my lap.
I love working with fingering, but it is really fun to play with different weights and textures. It’s amazing how a ball of yarn can change into something so incredible and special. I tend to have a fingering project and then will pick up a bulky weight hat to make something quick and feel productive.
Although I love the look of a super bulky hat or sweater, I’ve quickly learned that the larger yarns and needles are torture on my hands. These days my favorite weight is probably DK, with fingering as a close second. (I think my stash would say it’s fingering though!)
I enjoy working with sport weight up to Aran for warm sweaters, a silky fingering weight for a light, drapey top. My favorite though? I’d say a worsted beacause it knits up so quickly!
Fingering is my go to … and if a pattern calls for something heavier … multiple stranding can make stunning combinations
My favourite weight of yarn is DK although I use fingering a lot. I love to make socks and shawls and fingering is my go to yarn for those. DK is so versatile and I can usually get the required gauge so no fiddling with numbers!
I’m game to try any yarn weight if I see a project that intrigues me, but my go-to is fingering weight because I love, love, LOVE making socks and sock yarn shawls.
Fingerless gloves are fun too especially if they come with socks to match!
Bonjour, j’adore toutes vos laines, douces et soyeuse sous la main. Les couleurs sont si vibrantes. Elles captent notre attention immédiatement. Je veux seulement vous dire de continuer votre excellent travail. Vous avez des doigts de fée.
My favorite yarn weight to work with is fingering weight because I can make lots of socks, sweaters, shawls and so on with this yarn.
Fingering yarn is my “go-to” choice as I tend to knit shawls. The various patterns available have plenty of challenges and I don’t have to worry about sizing/fit. I love the way Expression Fiberarts creates individual skeins and then combines those skeins so beautifully.
My favorite weight yarn is DK. I love the way you can create a soft, flowing, warm but lightweight shawl with it.
I’ve always been into chunky yarns because could get a project done quicker. Recently, in the last year I opened my horizons to other yarn weights and bases. I feel forever changed. No more all acrylic for me. Hope you have a blessed Sunday!
It depends on what I’m making! I tend to knit with fingering weight since that is what I find most of the patterns I like in. I tend to crochet in worsted because for some reason I tend to find repeating patterns and doing them in fingering just leaves me feeling frustrated after a while because it feels like it’s taking forever to finish a project.
I love working with most any weight and have multiple projects of different weights going most times to go with the various arthritis and carpal tunnel pain I may or may not be feeling that day. ☺️
I’m divided between fingering and DK.
I love any weight of yarn but my favorite is fingering and lace.
Why? Because I love to make shawls, shocks, sweaters, shrugs, beach covers. And I like the texture also l can Wear it all year round. Not say worsted can’t wear all year round. My opinion and my favorite is fingering weight yarn and lace.
My favorite is DK and Sport weight.
I love so many but my favorite to work with is fingering weight!!!
I don’t really have a favorite. Just like I don’t have a favorite blend, it all depends on what I’m creating. I do have an unreasonable amount of fingering and worsted weight yarns in my stash tho’.
I love working with sock yarn, mainly to make socks. It’s colorful and versatile and my friends and family love when I surprise them with a new pair.
Wonderful yarns as always
I like working with both DK and Sport weight yarns, gives me the best stitch definition I prefer 🥰
Love working with DK and worsted – and bulky for comfy sweater coats and afghans. Fingering for lacy shawls — guess I love them all!
I’m a little embarrassed to admit, that I don’t have a lot of experience with different yarns. I have so much to learn! That’s ok though, I’ll get there. Currently, I’d say Worsted weight. I primarily make a lot of blankets and hats and like to experiment with it using a variety of textured patterns.
Fingering weight is my fabourite. It works so wellfor shawls, socks, hat, etc.
Lately I’ve been into DK/sport weight yarns. I live in North Florida and these weights are light enough to make items that I can wear, but, still can make fast enough for not get bored.
I like working with the different weights depending on the project. I normally have one fingering/sport weight project and a dk/worsted project going on at the same time so I can switch depending on what I feel that day.
I just love yarn. Dk is a good favorite i just crocheted my first sweater and i just love it! Sport is becoming a favorite just love the feel. I’m a feel type of girl when it comes to yarn, textures.
I like bulky because it’s quick, and worsted because it’s finer but still has good weight for a blanket. I’m about to start my first fingering weight project (your textured laguna wrap pattern in color way carpathian christmas) and I’m so excited for that!!!
Living in the south, I’m drawn to (gorgeous hand-dyed, unique) fingering/sock weight yarns in order to actually use what I knit or crochet. It does take a lot of patience to get there! I have a secret dream of making one of those cute-girl super-bulky cream cropped cardigans, but it’d have to be light as a feather AND also somehow not make me look like the Michelin Man.
Picking one weight as my favorite would be like picking o favorite child…just not possible! I really do love them all. For me it’s more about enjoying the feel of the yarn as it gets pulled between my fingers while working with it. As long as it’s not coarse and scratchy, I enjoy it!
Worsted weight is usually my go to yarn base for quick projects. But I do love your allure fingering weight the absolute best!
I usually am a fingering kinda person but lately I’ve really been enjoying worsted and dk, I’ve been taking on some bigger projects and just love how much quicker, thicker, and warmer my projects are with worsted and dk, if I had to pick between them probably worsted!
I love working with all weights of yarn as each one has its own properties that give the best results for the garment I’m working on. Having used many acrylic blends in the past due to costs and availability, I am so happy to be able to use natural wool or cotton yarn in my work. It has a nicer feel to it.
I mostly work with fingering weight yarns but I do like a DK also.
I usually work with fingering or dk. Anything heavier than worsted doesn’t work well with our climate and it gets to heavy for me to comfortably work with. BUT…that said, I LOVE all of your yarns and the exquisite colors.
I love working with fingering and DK weight yarn as I feel the finished pieces have nicer drape and don’t look too chunky.
When I first started to crochet, I loved the big bulky yarns because it made it easier for me to hold and see my stitches, and made me feel like I accomplished a great feat. 🙂 Since then, I have started working on Amigurumi and I have settled in to reaching for DK weight yarn and projects more than any other type of yarn weight. While I love the airiness and drape of fingering weight yarn, and the warmth and depth of bulky yarn, DK weight yarn now has my heart. 🙂
My favourite is DK. It’s fine enough, but doesn’t take too long to finish a project.
Beautiful colors as always. I love knitting with fingering weight yarns.
Worsted is my favorite, but DK is also a lovely weight to work with. I have psoriatic arthritis, so larger yarns are easier for me to work with. And they are lovely and squishy!
My favorite yarn is fingering weight because it is so versatile. Socks, baby clothes, sweaters, shawls—-all made easily with this weight. And you can use a variety of needle sizes to achieve different textures.
Fingering weight is my personal favorite. It is so versatile and can be used for almost any project.
I mostly knit with sock yarn because I make socks, hats, and shawls. If I’m crocheting then it’s usually worsted weight because I mostly crochet blankets.
Good morning lovely Chandi and Company! I love to knit with different weights for different reasons. Worsted weight usually means a project that is going to truck along pretty quickly, which I find satisfying. But living in North Texas, I find fingering weight to be most appropriate for most of the clothing I create. I am a relatively new knitter (2 years), so am still experimenting with other weights.
I love yarns that do not split and that I can enjoy the luxury of while I am knitting. My all time favorite so far is Crema yarns from right here at Expression Fiber Arts.
There is no real perfect method for a favorite yarn weight sometime a pattern needs a perfect weight Next a color starts the processes is it a shawl or hat, or it filling a need for others which combines so many factors. The fiber design themselves are they a tweed or a long color strand is it fluffy or has a haze. The greatest challenge is often finding a great match for a discovered pattern from long ago. All weights of yarn help with inspiration of skills to double knitting, brioche, enterlac, and so many others.
I like bulky best, but if I like a yarn I don’t care about the weight. I live in Florida, so light yarns are more practical 😁
Fingering! Everyone needs socks in Saskatchewan!
I prefer worsted or DK. It’s big enough to finish the project relatively quickly, but fine enough that you can get a smooth effect.
I enjoy feeling the yarn slip through my fingers no matter what weight but mostly I work with DK.
I love working with fingering weight in the summer. It’s more wearable in TX. But thicker yarn is fun in the winter.
Fingering weight is my favorite. It’s so versatile. You can hold it single, double, or even triple to get any gauge you need.
I pretty much only buy thinner than DK because its easier to double or triple with another color or two for a unique texture/color look, plus they come in much longer lengths which is simply just really satisfying to look at. Plus the cost/length for thick yarns feels prohibitive when your hands cant handle many non-natural yarns and nice thick yarns usually come in some bs tiny lengths. If i want thick yarn, i prefer to self spin.
I like fingering weight for the high yardage per skein.
I am so spoiled with EFA yarn. I love it all. I have used all weights, except bulky. Because I love the softness of EFA yarn, I am drawn to the fingering and lace weights, because it takes longer to finish a project. I get to enjoy the journey to completing longer.
My favorite yarn weight I think depends on how my hands are feeling at the moment. Sometimes I enjoy fingering weight and then my hands get tired of working with it so I switch to Worsted or a bulky 5.
I love working with DK. The osteoarthritis has made it difficult to use anything much thinner, unless held doubled. But worsted is what my Gram taught me to crochet with, so that holds such a special place in my heart. I lost her 35 years ago, but when I crochet I know she’s right here with me. And boy would she love the variety of yarn at EFA.
I love sport weight yarns especially a wool mixed with a small amount of silk. This makes knitting garments beautiful!
I Love ALL YARN! I work with different weight depending on the project.
I am new to knitting, but even before I began I loved the look of fingering weight yarn. As a mom of 3 rough and tumble boys I appreciate the “finer” things in life. Fingering weight just impresses me with a soft feminine look..oh so frilly! Since I’ve started knitting I’ve found that I enjoy that same feeling as it runs through my fingers 🙂
I love DK and worsted weight. As I have aged it is more difficult to see smaller things including small stitches, so I try to avoid smaller strands of yarn.
DK or worsted are my favs, but let’s be honest, I wouldn’t turn down any hand dyed, quality yarn. So many yarns….so little time.
Sport, because it knits up faster than fingering but doesn’t look too bulky.
I love working with all types of yarn but use worsted weight the most. I make a lot of amigurumi, blankets, and sweaters. I’d like to venture out to lighter sweaters and cardigans using DK yarn. I used to enjoy making baby blankets out of blanket yarn, but working with such thick yarn has started to hurt my hands and wrists.
My favorite is fingering weight yarn, especially for sweaters. I will use sport and dk also, but worsted is generally reserved for cardigans in my opinion. Lightweight yarns are just fabulous for flattering sweaters.
Lately I’ve been drawn to working with fingering weight. The lightness and drape has made working up shawls and cowls so beautifully. And when paired with mohair it’s such smooshy magic.
I think dk is my favorite to work with despite not often using it. I end up using fingering weight more often just because I make socks more than anything else. They’re a one-skein project so I get to use a variety of yarns and colors. I do wish more sock yarn was available in dk weight, and it seems to be manifesting toward that in the last couple years. I’ve been branching out into making more and larger wearables but often have to go with very inexpensive yarn to get it done. $30 gets a whole pair of wool socks, but it’s hard to get a whole sweater for that price. 😂
So much depends on the fiber content, but in general I like knitting with fingering weight. It takes a little longer but I enjoy the finer fabric it creates, especially for tops and colorwork.
I tend to work with dk or 4 wt yarn, sometimes a bulky for headbands or cowls. I have some 1 and 2 wts, but I haven’t found the right pattern for the amount of yarn I have available to use.
My favorite weight to work with is fingering. It works up beautifully into lightweight and lacy scarves and shawls.
Wow, these colors just scream spring, they’re amazing!
My favorite yarn weight is fingering – I can hold it double for winter accessories or sweaters, and use it as is for anything else – from shawls or socks to spring/autumn clothes. And the range of available (especially hand-dyed) colors is always so much bigger… So yeah, definitely fingering.
Such a difficult question for one that just loves yarn!…
However, I love fingering weight because it makes a more delicate and flowy fabric and OMG its so soft!!!
Omigosh! The yarn colors are just beautiful! I use mostly fingering weight yarn (for shawls), though recently I’ve begun to use DK weight for Tunisian crochet projects. For a break from following patterns, I use worsted or bulky weight yarns to make blankets for my local animal shelter.
My favorite yarn is fingering weight and I love pretty much every base I can get my hands on.
I love a 3 weight
I like fingering (not entirely sure why)
I like using DK and thinner because I like making garments and feel like they drape and feel better….not as bulky on me.
I Love DK weight and heavier, but have enjoyed some lace weight projects! The feel and colors make me feel calm, warm and excited all at once! Yarn is my happy place and I can take it with me where ever I go!
I’m happy with en weight, but my absolute favourite is fingering weight.
Unless I’m knitting socks, I tend to use worsted and chunky yarns the most. Up here in Canada it’s nice to have some heavy sweaters in the winter.
I love working with worsted weight but, have recently started working with fingerling. I an currently working on Sona as I wait for my next MCAL clue. I am a avid crochetier and look for new patterns and unique yarns to work with.
I love how the give away is always coordinated colors and not just a random stack of yarn.
I love working with aran weight yarn. It feels just the right thickness for me and I can finish my projects faster(yay!!).
I always use worsted weight, but I want sport weight to work with, or sock yarn. I want to make socks, delicate shawls, and baby blankets. I typically buy what I can afford.
Fingering or DK ‐ they’re just so versatile!
My favorite yarn is fingering weight – I find it easy to knit & love the way it looks. Anything above worsted weight hurts my hands to knit with.
I’ve been buying a lot of DK weight yarn, since I do a fair amount of shawls and wraps. I’m always thinking two patterns ahead
Most of my projects use worsted weight yarn, though I’ve been looking for more bulky patterns. I also recently found a pattern that uses embroidery floss, which I’m looking forward to trying. Worsted weight is so versatile, it will probably always be my go-to.
Since learning to knit, my favorite has been sport followed real close by DK weight yarns. Sport weight has always felt like a safe option for garments to socks and more. I haven’t worked up a project with anything heavier than DK but here’s to looking ahead and keeping an open mind!
My favorite yarns to work with (hard to choose one) are DK and fingering. DK is a great weight-not too heavy not too light and it is quick. Fingering feels so good but takes so long. So when I look at it that way sport weight works. It can either be heavy fingering or light DK. Perfect!
Good Morning Sunshine! Spring is on the way! Soon, the weather here will be nice enough to sit on my porch and listen to the birds and squirrels scold my cat while I’m knitting (or crocheting) with my new stash! In the unfortunate case I didn’t win a bundle of your scrumptious fibers, I will settle my needles with my fingering weight projects, and wait until the next giveaway.
It depends on the project. I think DK might be my favorite though.
I love working with worsted weight because I can do so much with it! Plushies, wearables, blankets, you name it!
Hi! I have been working with f hungering weights a lot lately and I enjoy it. I used to work with really bulky yarn, so this is a nice change, but not sure I have a favorite.
When in doubt😉 I can always find a great project to use fingering weight yarn.
DK is probably my fav! I love to work with smaller needles and the perfection they can deliver for socks, shawls, and sweaters.
Hi Chandi:) I love DK weight, it’s a sweet spot for socks and makes knitting go much faster. I get many knitting emails but I can honestly say yours is the only one I reliably read, it’s like getting a warm hug. Thanks for sending the love!
I prefer to work with fingering weight. It makes up with such a wonderful lacy look, & I can easily add beads to my project.
I would have said worsted weight, but your Tuesday live gatherings are teaching me I love all weights and I am also challenging myself to knit beyond what I thought was my skill level. I love this group!
Green and purple are my favorite colors! This set of yarn is beautiful! I really enjoy working with the Mirage sport yarn, it is so soft and scrumptious to knit and crochet with.
It’s so hard to choose really, but I’m currently participating in the 2024 MCAL and I’m absolutely loving the Crema Worsted.
These are stunning colours for the month!
I enjoy knitting with fingering, sport and DK the most I love the small stitches the finished fabric has. I do knit with other weights as well aran, worsted and chunky are great for a quick knit.
I have been crocheting for a few years but I don’t have much experience with different weights, I am excited to try some new things.
Pearlescent fingering or worsted is my favorite! Gorgeous drape. Twisted tweed is fun too. I love the twist of two different colors
It depends on the project; I’ve been using a lot of bulky chenille for amigurumi, but also sport for shawls and worsted for blankets
I love all yarn weights, it depends of the project. Thanks for this opportunity to win this beautiful yarn!
I love all yarn, all the weights and colors, but I’m especially enjoying DK for sturdy socks and fingering for intricate designs and/or lightweight fabrics.
I love whatever yarn I am using for each project!!! Otherwise I wouldn’t be using it!!! I love all the yarn and all the colors! Yes, I am a yarnaholic.
I like to work with fingering. Even though it takes longer to finish a project with a thinner yarn, I like the look of the finished project more than with a thicker yarn.
Fingering, Dk, and worsted are my favorite yarn weights to work with. They allow for diversity in patterns and each has its own strength. I don’t like working with anything heavier than worsted because it’s too hard on my hands.
It’s hard to have one favorite yarn weight but if I have to choose it would be fingering. It’s so light to work with and every stitch seems intricate. It glides over your hook easily and to me seems easier on my hands.
I like to use a variety of yarn weights, I don’t necessarily have one favorite. I enjoy trying different types of projects, weights and stitches.
Hi,
I love to crochet, and I am teaching myself to knit at the moment. I. I love working with all weights of yarn. I think that if I had to choose just one weight I would have to say fingerling is one of my favorites. I would like to make a shawl for myself one day…let me clarify, I would love to make a shawl that my cats don’t claim.
Sue
My favorite yarn weight is DK weight because it can be used for so many different types of projects without being too heavy or too light.
Not sure I have a favorite yarn weight. They all serve a purpose and produce wonderful items! I do seem to have a lot of fingering in my stash. It’s versatile in that it can be doubled or held with another to create a different weight. But I love them all!
I like working with DK weight mostly because I just started machine knitting again and this weight works for both hand knitting and machine knitting, at least for my mid-gauge machine.
I don’t have a favorite yarn weight. If a pattern speaks to me, I find a great yarn to make it with – love natural fibers from rustic wool to cashmere. For me, it’s all about the meditative process of making something for me or someone I love.
I’ve used them all, and I love them all for various reasons. If I had to pick just one to use from here on I would pick DK. It’s so versatile!
I like worsted because it knits up quickly, but I also like fingering because it’s so versatile.
I love to work with fingering as it produces such a lightweight and drapey fabric and since I live in weather most often over 70 degrees F, lightweight is important. But when I make things for my northern friends, worsted works up so fast it’s miraculous!
Fingering is my favorite. It’s just right for shawls. Although I have done some lace projects and a few bulky ones, I always go back to fingering.
I love working with lighter weight yarns (DK and lighter). The feel of good quality yarn in my finger make me relax. I love the finer stitches and more lacey work that one can create with finer yarn.
I love all the dyed yarns bought from you. Their colors are gorgeous. After buying yarns from you, I have never buy any from shops.
I don’t think I have a favourite yarn weight to work with. I’m willing to work with all the different yarn weights and bases. All yarn is beautiful to me..
DK/Sport is my favorite to work with, think enough to be warm, light enough to have good movement
I’ve been working with dk and lace weight recently and I love how light weight everything is!
I think my favorite yarn weight is either DK or Worsted. It works up so quickly, but you can make so much with it. I do enjoy his fingering weight makes such pretty baby dresses, though… very lacy!
I guess I really just like any yarn that’s easy enough to work with.
I love all yarn weights but right now I’m crocheting an afgan in 5 weight yarn and just loving it..
I’ve never met a yarn weight I didn’t love! I guess my favorite is DK. I like the drape and the many-seasons weight of the fabric.
Hi, I like using lace weight yarn best, although I’ve also used bulky yarn a couple of times for some quick projects, which is a nice change from the slower lace weight projects.
Though I love working with all weights of yarn, each lending unique beauty to every project, worsted remains my favorite simply because it works up quickly. Thank you so much Chandi!
Lately I’ve been enjoying sport and worsted weight yarns. The projects are quick and satisfying. I have one fingering weight project in the works, and it’s more of a long-term project. When I finish that, it will feel like a big accomplishment!
Wow! This is a very large giveaway with so many yarns that I’d like to try. DK weight yarn is the one I work with most, but I enjoy knitting and crocheting with many other weights as well.
I like working with worsted weight for throws which is mostly what I have been doing. I look forward to working with different yarns as I go along.
My favourite yarn weight is DK, I am currently enjoying holding it double to make thick and cozy projects with creative and interesting colour combinations.
My favorite weight to work with is fingering – the drape is unbeatable!
I love working with sport and DK weight yarns, because projects can be worked up quickly, without being bulky, or too heavy. Alpaca Silk DK is my favorite DK yarns! It’s luxuriously soft!
I like DK weight the because I feel like it makes the best sweaters. It has the perfect thickness/warmth!
I really love DK weight. It’s just right for me. Not too heavy and not too light. Projects work up fast and beautiful. Also I live in the south-west desert where worsted weight garments are only needed for a very short winter. Fingering is lovely, but I always go back to DK.
Love all of your wool colours and patterns. Just too bad that I’m now 83 years old with a small stash of shawl wools. Want to enter the contest though. And I watch your videos too.
Regards,
Lorna
I love working with sport weight yarn. The projects I used it for have a lovely drape. Anything lighter weight is difficult for me to see and heavier weights don’t look as good on me.
Fingering weight is my go to weight. I also LOVE lace weight luxury yarns.
I really don’t have a favorite, I guess it depends on the item I’m crocheting. So I guess my top choices would most likely be: Lace weight, DK, and Worsted, but I do enjoy working with fingering and down to size 30 Crochet Cottons
I like trying something new often. So different weight yarns or holding two together. The changes produced are fascinating.
I use sport or DK and worsted weight yarns for items that I donate. Also, I am beginning to love fingering weight yarns for items that I make for gifts.
I love the feel of working with dk but the look of fingering weight is gorgeous.
I think DK/sport is my favorite weight of yarn, pretty much everything I enjoy crocheting can be made with these weights from shawls to afghans.
What a beautiful assortment of colors in this giveaway!
I love using lace weight yarn, but have been using a lot of sport and DK weights lately.
Bulky is my favorite since you get a chance to use larger needles which to me just feel better holding in my hands and it really helps to see your individual stitches. Plus it is much faster to get to the end result. I don’t care much for fingering since you typically have to double it for the projects I make and that means double skeins or twice the price.
My favorite weights to work with are fingering and lace. I crochet, so the fabric created is thicker than with knitting; using lighter weight yarn gives me an end product that is still light enough for my hot and humid climate.
That being said, I finally finished my Confetti DK sweater using the Dewy DK Imaginative Hues kit, and I’m in love with it, lol, so DK weight sweaters have been a new addition to my WIP queue that I’m really enjoying!
Probably DK because it has a nice drape and doesn’t take as long to make something out of as sport.
I love working with all weights of yard but if I had to pick it would be light worsted/DK weight. Getting lost in the process is my ultimate goal and for me right now DK is my heaven.
Love all weights of yarn! It’s usually the color and feel!
I love DK and super bulky. DK is the perfect weight for garments that are fine enough to have some drape, but still work up so much more quickly than fingering. Super bulky is my favorite for small projects like hats since it’s so fast to work with! I love that I can have a gift for a friend (or myself) ready in an afternoon.
My favorite yarn wight is fingering. Using a finer yarn makes me feel a sense of advanced skill and makes me hope for an heirloom quality finished item. I enjoy holding the delicate stitching and the dainty hook or needles as I complete my project.
I love working with worsted weight yarn. It’s so versatile and the stitch definition often pops. DK weight is also great for more flow in projects.
I’m quite new to knitting and crochet, so i’ve yet to find a favourite, but I have found working with an aran or DK weight most comfortable so far.
My go-to is DK weight – I love knitting sweaters but I run hot, so it’s the perfect middle weight to show off texture or cables or color work without making me into a sweaty mess 😉
At the moment DK weights are easiest on my hands.
Beautiful colourways this month!
I’m a big fan of DK and Worsted weight yarn! I broke my hand in 2019 and can no longer grasp small circumference items, which makes using fingering weight yarn quite difficult. I also really like using EFA’s Buttery Bulky! It’s so soft and works up really fast!! I’m nearly done with the Creery sweater and I just started it two weeks ago!!!!
Fingering or sport weight. You can do anything with it which makes my go to for every project because even if I need worsted weight I can always hold it double.
I work with a lot of different yarn weights. I love the variety. Bulky is great for whipping up a quick project but the thinner fingering yarns make such beautiful intricate stitches. Variety is the spice of life!
I really like the patterns for fingering weight, but I’m impatient, so lately I’ve liked DK or even Worsted.
I really enjoy working with fingering & DK weight yarns and how it shows off the definition in different stitches.
I’m really enjoying fingering weight yarn at the moment but am a lover of all things yarn!
I love working with fingering-weight yarn – it just seems as if it lends itself to so many projects. That said, I honestly will use any weight yarn, but I seem to keep going back to fingering as my favorite.
Fingering weight is my present favorite. Learned how to make socks recently and absolutely am loving the calmness knitting brings to me. Thanks for your inspirations.
I definitely prefer worsted or larger due to how little time I have to crochet, but I do love using multiple strands of thinner yarns in different colors to create depth and interesting effects!
I cannot pick a favorite. I like them all, depending on a project, on my mood. Seems like I’ve been buying mostly fingering weight lately, but I do like any weight, especially when it’s variegated yarn.
Hello! I love worsted but also DK. I am working my way over to finer and finer yarn 🙂 I love all colours but mainly the autumn colours. I do have a weakness for blue though and purple. Am learning new things for every project which keeps me on my toes. Sweaters and tees are my favourites. I honestly believe that good yarn in a wonderful colour makes life so much better!
I like to work with fingering or lace weight yarns. I find them very feminine.
My favourite yarn weight used to be worsted, but now I definitely gravitate towards sport, fingering and lace weight yarns for their versatility and feel in my hands! Plus, I love combining yarns to make an entirely new fabric combination and these weights are perfect for that 😊
I am us to working with worsted. I am learning to work with other weights and appreciate them as well.
all your yarns are fantastic! i dont think i could pick just one as a favorite.
cause i love them all.
Love all of your yarns! When I started knitting I used to only use worsted and bulky yarns because I was impatient and wanted to have my finished object as soon as possible. Now that Im using your luxurious yarns, I prefer fingering weight because I love the time spent knitting more!
How can I pick? I have been focusing on worsted weight lately, but with spring coming I will probably shift to DK :D.
I love working with fingering weight yarn because it’s light and shows off stitches well.
My favorite yarn is sock weight. I live it in its own or pared with other weights to blend into beautiful fabrics and color combos. Its delightful.
DK is my favorite yarn weight. When I get sock yarn I find ways to add elements in with another yarn because these old hands just don’t handle thin yarn like they used to.
I like and mostly use sport and worsted because I enjoy making toys for my kids. But I think my absolute favorite is probably fingering, especially if it’s yak silk or alpaca silk. I love it because it feels so wonderful working with it and the end product is so drapey and beautiful.
My favorite weight is definitely fingering. I like the lighterweight fabric it produces, plus you get more yards per skein!!
Working with DK or heavier is preferred for the speed in which they knit up. But can’t beat fingering for all things like socks and shawls.
Too hard to choose a specific, but I love the feel of the silks. 🙂
I prefer to work with fingering weight. As a plus-size woman, I like wearing it.
I’m loving fingering weight yarns, the shawls and sweaters seem to have a better shape and drape if I use fingering.
I have been knitting with fingering weight yarn a lot since I moved to NC. I used to knit with only worsted weight before when I lived in Ohio, I do miss how much faster it is to knit with.
I like worsted and DK but also I end up using sport weight a lot! So hard to choose 😁
I love how quickly worsted weight yarn projects work up, but my favorite weight to work with is sport – I love a good, long, cathartic project with a high-quality sport weight yarn ❤️
I personally love a good aran/worsted weight, its bulky enough to work up quickly but light enough it doesn’t get ridiculously heavy trying to work with. Saying that I am currently working on a skirt using 3 ply weight which is bringing some new challenges which i am enjoying
My favorite yarn weights are Fingering, Sport, and DK. I live in a warm climate and don’t need heavy winter sweaters. I am also a sock knitter so use lots of fingering-weight yarn.
What a beautiful combo of colors…. thank u Chandi
I love working with worsted because it’s perfect for hats!
I’m not sure what my favorite yarn weight is but I have a hard time working with too small a weight because it’s hard on my eyes.
I enjoy the feel of sport weight yarns. A completed project in sport weight has such a wonderful drape to it. I recently started marling just about everything out of my stash. I’ve been using mostly fingering or sport weight yarns so the finished garment isn’t too heavy or bulky. I just knitted an extra long throw for my son using two sport weight yarns together, tweed & striped. The throw’s manly multi-colors & garter stitch pattern will, hopefully, be something my son will enjoy using. (If not, I’m sure his kitty will love it. ha!) Combining two sport yarns made a perfect weight for a throw that will provide warmth but not be too hot for a guy.
Note: Expression Fiber Arts “Reason to Smile” Twisted Tweed is absolutely beautiful, Chandi, with it’s multi-colors & finished ‘marled’ look. Can’t wait to make something for ME with this delightful & colorful yarn…and it’s sport weight. yay!
Thank you, Chandi, for the fantastic yarn giveaway!
Good luck to everyone!!
The yarn I love is project based. I love the way yarn moves through my fingers as I knit and crochet and every yarn has its own tactile qualities. I’ve used multiple weights and fibers and with the “right” pattern, they shine and I fall in love with each and every one of them.
Hello Sunshine!
I really don’t have a personal preference regarding yarn weights. I’m a yarn equity explorer. I love studying color and texture and creating gifts for others and sometimes myself too.
Knitting in my passion, but I also enjoy fun dives into other ways to use fiber. My paternal grandmother, originally from Oklahoma, taught me many ways to create using fiber, including crocheting, embroidery, tatting, sewing, quilting and the like.
It’s really interesting to me to follow the trail of where the fiber comes from, including all the culture surrounding the craft.
Hope you’re having a lovely day!
Deb~

…if it’s yarn, i like the weight!…all kinds, all weights, all materials! …now to find the right hook…ay, there’s the rub!
Hello Chandi! How can a person pick one weight of yarn? But I think I will say my favorite yarn weight to work with and why is: DK & the balance between working up quickly yet not being too thick or heavy. Worsted can just be that smidge too heavy. I just finished a vintage Sontag in a worsted weight alpaca & merino yarn with 17% nylon or something? It’ll wear well & move well, yet it’s soft and gorgeous. And going up in yarn weight/hook size made it work for my not-so-Victorian figure. However it is just a little like a weighted blanket, LOL. Mostly because of heavy crochet trimming. So today I will say DK! 🙂
I have always worked with worsted weight, until I started using natural fibers. I now prefer DK and fingering weight and I love the products and colorways that you offer.
Beautiful colors, as ALWAYS! I think I like working with fingering best, and the only reason I can come up with is that it is the yarn that I first used for a project when I made the leap from big box yarn to artisan yarn. The beautiful, even, silky fingering sang through my own fingers and I knew I’d moved to a whole new level in crocheting. That said, if I won this month’s collection, I’d have to use that fabulous green sparkle DK to make something for our family forager to use out in the woods. It just begs to be a cowl and mitts for an elf! 🙂
I love both worsted and DK so it’s hard to choose one. I think it depends largely on the time of year.
my favorite is usually dk but I’ve been sitting on some fingering weight trying to work up an idea for it…I keep changing my
mind 😂
I love working with all kinds of yarn! Lately it’s been worsted weight
My favorite it fingering weight. I love the lightness especially here in the southwest desert.
I haven’t worked with different weights of yarn. So I really don’t have a favorite yet.
Fingering yarn is just so versatile and everything I want to make requires it! For speed worsted is my favourite.
I’m really loving sport/heavy fingering weight to be so pleasant lately. The drape is gorgeous and all those little stitches are super satisfying to see!
I love the chunky yarn because of the squish. I’ll take a moment to stop and just squish whatever I’m working on and it always makes me smile!
I like working with fingering weight yarn. I like the stitch definition of the lighter weight yarns.
I was afraid of it at first, but fingering is becoming my favorite. I have some arthritis at the base of my thumbs, and heavier weights really aggravate it. Especially love your silk blends!
While I’ll always have a spot in my heart for bulky yarns (I learned to knit during COVID to rehab my CMC joint in my left hand) I do love silky sport weights, too.
After a 5 year layoff from knitting, I’m getting back into it. I LOVE your beautiful emails and inspiration. Keep up the hard work, Sunshine!
As a relatively new knitter I haven’t actually knit with all the different fibre weights. Definitely not all the fibres in the world.
My stash is mostly 4ply but I’m knitting with a DK weight at the moment and loving it.
Favourite yarn? It depends on the project. DK for most sweaters, fingering for shawls and socks.
I love a good DK weight #3 because it is almost right down the middle of them all. It is light enough to drape the best but still thick enough that you don’t have to plan at least a year for your project to be finished.
The only weight I shy away from is extra bulky. I don’t enjoy working with larger needles. I love the refined look of fingering snd DK fabrics.
I love working with sport weight yarn. It gets some weight to your project without too much bulk.
I like all kinds of weights. Worsted mostly but also fingering weight when my wrists need a break. Thank you for this givaway!
I like working best with either DK or fingering. There’s nothing clunky about the outcome of working with either of these weights, and they feel better on my hands than any other weights. I love the look of things made with laceweight, but I find it hard to handle. Heavier weights just don’t mesh with my fingers very well
The fine yarns challenge and delight me!
I enjoy cobweb!
I enjoy working with all weights of yarn, but my favorites are probably worsted (for things like blankets, home decor, quick sweaters) and fingering weight (for socks and drape-y stuff). It’s all good!
I love thicker yarns because I can finish an item faster, but I tend to collect fingering because I’m a sucker for lace patterns.
Hi Chandi, I love the feel of working with fingering because the look of it weight is gorgeous, but i love DK too. ❤️
I’m not sure that I have a Favorite weight, because they all bring unique benefits. But if I had to pick, it would be probably be sport weight. I love elegant looking items that have a beautiful drape, especially lacy stuff or items I can layer. Plus I get hot very easily. I think finer weights create a more refined product, but sport give you just a tad more to work with than fingering, to help speed it up. It can be used for a variety of items, from blankets to clothing and accessories. It’s just so much more versatile in my world than other weights.
I have always liked working with worsted. It drapes beautifully, but is still fast.
Love the colors of this month’s giveaway! I don’t really have a favorite yarn weight, but I do make a lot of things out of DK and fingering weight yarns. I have the gorgeous Textured Laguna Wrap in my queue to make with your exquisite pearlescent fingering yarn!
Hard to pick a favorite, but I guess I’ll settle on DK. It’s not too thick, not too thin, though I have a weakness for making things in fingering too.
I l8ke DK for the versatility. Goes faster than the smaller weights and yet lighter than worsted or larger for mor fluid drape.
I have grown to really love working with DK weight.
I have been working with fingering weight yarn lately and really enjoy using the pearlescent yarn. It is so soft and silky and makes some of the most beautiful projects. All the yarns on the site are great to work with.
I love fingering weight. I can collect single skeins in amazing colors and turn them into shawls, socks and more. I also love combining the leftovers into fun scrappy knits.
I prefer fingering weight yarn! Mostly because there is so much yardage, but also because it seems like my thumbs are happier when working with little needles. I also like the fabric that finer weight yarn produces.
I don’t really have a favorite weight… For me, that’s highly subjective, based on the project I’m working. I Just want the recipient of the finished object to love it enough that it becomes a favorite, and perhaps will gift it to the next generation.
I love sport weight! Its easy to work with and so versatile!
I like bright colours mostly but also ones that remind me of my travels so desert colours of Arizona. Working on a blanket to remember my travels for this year. I like any yarn that is pleasing to the touch.
Fingerings to Aran. I don’t like the heavier weights and am trying to get rid of the yarn that I have in those weights.
I mostly work with fingerings and DK yarns if I buy. I have been making more DK yarn myself and have a lot of worsted and Aran homespun too.
I use fingering or light fingering weight, mostly, for socks & cardigans & shawls & dresses & sweaters & … sometimes dk, less often worsted. Very rarely bulky, as I have small hands and the needles get to thick for me.
I enjoy almost all weights…but mostly enjoy fingering and DK. Love the hand dyed and variety of colors.
Lace weight and some fingering because I knit doll sweaters
I have a lot of fingering yarn, but I just pulled out my Buttery Bulky and finished a scarf in two days!
I always seem to gravitate to fingering weight but I love how quickly bulky works up!
I like working with Worsted weight and Bulky weight yarn. I have arthritis in my hands and the larger yarn is easier to work with for my hands, but I use all weights depending on the pattern.
I love all yarns! I tend to use fingering the most, but I do love the speed of a worsted project… ☺️
My favourite yarn weight to work with is fingering. Finished projects are light and drapey, and they always look sophisticated and meticulous.
Lovelovelove fingering weight, although I do also lovelovelove sport weight/worsted weight. All yarn is wonderful. Loving this website, loving Chandi and all the hard workers at EFA. THANK YOU
I love working with fingering because its so versatile. Double it for DK, triple it for light worsted; you can use it for clothing, accessories, blankets, and (of course) socks!
I live in Maine so it’s fingering for the shawls I adore knitting and worsted for cozy sweaters I wear all winter.
I like working with lace, light and medium weight yarn. For me, it’s just really nice to work with and depending on what I’m making, the colors would work well with it. I really like the light and medium weight yarns a bit better. I really love using Lion Brand, the Ice Cream Big Scoop and the Pound of Love ones. They have a nice feel and color to them that are very pretty (some not all. I’m a bit picky on the colors I like and choose😂) and they don’t put strain on my hands, like lace would (although I manage and can work around to keep my hands from cramping/straining😊). Especially since I hold my yarn a bit different than how the yarn is normally held😂.
Sidenote: Oh! But I WILL SAY! The Fingering weight yarn I bought from your shop is lovely, shiny, the colors and how they match the photo presented with it and the feeling, the smoothness of it is VERY NICE and easy to work with! I thoroughly enjoy using them and I love how they look in the light while I work with the yarn and I really do appreciate that the yarn is soft. It doesn’t hurt my fingers and it’s not rough like some other yarns are. So I really like that as well. PLEASE keep making wonderful, soft and pretty yarns. They’re wonderful and our knitting and/or crocheting hands thank you greatly😂😭💖.
I enjoy working with different yarn weights, much of it depends on the project and the yarn itself. For afghans and blankets, I like worsted or chunky yarns. For garments and shawls I prefer fingering. But if there is a beautiful yarn with a lovely hand, I would consider buying it regardless of the weight.
My favorite is DK/sport yarns, but I am starting to work with fingering yarn. It is an adjustment, but I love the feel if it so far.
Chandi, I love all of your yarn colorways in all weights, but my favorite weight with which to knit is DK. My second favorite is fingering/sock weight. Living as I do in the south any weight over DK is too heavy for this southern woman.
DK for clothes because I can get tight stitches with breathability and flexibility; and chunky for all my projects for the grandkids because I can knock the projects out quickly, and the kids love them.
I actually like all weights of yarn. Bulky makes hats so quick, I love sport & fingering for shawls for that light but warm feeling. I finished a worsted weight shawl last summer more suited to MA weather then AZ but it’s so cozy & I love it in the winter here in AZ.
I actually enjoy using all weights of yarn, though I don’t usually use many above 6 weights. Though this year I am learning to knit socks, so I am using a lot of fingering weights and some DK’s. This month’s yarns are super scrumptious, very much my palette, lol. Have a beautiful month and Good Luck to everyone!! Hurry up Spring, I want to plant my garden!! lol
I usually lean towards worsted weight (#4) – I do a lot of amigurumi, but lately I have been enjoying Sport weight (#2) for shawls.
I love fingering weight most, as I knit lots of shawls and socks, especially silky soft yarns!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your yarns! Wish I had faster fingers and an unlimited bank account!
Fingering weight is nice because the articles made turn out so prettily, but it takes forever to make! DK yarn is much quicker to work with.
A friend recently referred me to your website. I love all of your yarns and it’s very difficult to pick just one yard to work with, but the buttery worsted is delicious. The yarns colors are so amazing I want some of all of them.
I’m still figuring out which yarn weigjt i like best, but so far I prefer croscheting with yarn that uses hooks 4-5 (EU).
I love the Alpaca silk yarn the most, love the drape and the way it feels on my skin.
I’m just starting out my crocheting journey, and I like fingering weight so far. I’m making a shawl, but it is so much fun that I’m thinking of transforming the project into a baby blanket for my first grandchild, and a matching shawl for my daughter-in-law.
I love DK weight yarn. It’s my favorite for garments, being fine enough for a smooth look but not so fine that a project takes forever. I also use fingering weight a good bit for shawls.
I seem to use a lot of fingering, I guess because I like the drape and the subtlety. Also because a skein goes further 😆
Love these colors!!! I don’t really have a favorite weight of yarn, but I do tend to love projects which use sport or fingering. I usually have a few different projects going at once with different weight yarns and needle sizes to give my fingers a change.
I like working with worsted for garments, but sport or fingerling for shawls and wraps.
Dk! The yarn isn’t too thick and still You can get the needed size very quick.
I like different weights of yarn for different projects. From super delicate laces up through chunky blankets. I mostly love the feel of Yarn in my hands and the process of turning into something magical and beautiful.
I love all yarn weights and colours. I really don’t have a favourite.
Fingering weight is my jam – I love the smaller speckles and I enjoy the smaller needles to work with!
I find myself working a lot with fingering weight yarn these days. Really, I like most weight yarn. I recently knitted my daughter a brioche sweater in bulky yarn. While it only took a week or so, it made my hands hurt.
I like worsted and DK as they are very easy to work with. Not too small and not too bulky either. Projects work up quick and it’s easy to just go up a hook size or two for a drapey fabric.
Hi Chandi, thank you for putting together such a beautiful giveaway!! 💖 I’m not sure what my favorite weight of yarn is yet, so far I’ve mostly only used 4wt.. I do have projects on my to-do list of all the varied yarn sizes tho! ☺️
My favorite sometimes changing seasonally, but overall is dk, so versatile!
Gosh, I think every pattern and new yarn is an amazing adventure. Therefor I really couldn’t say I had a favourite. I just love it all the colour, the possibilities, the firing of your imagination.
Dk is mainly my favourite! I like using it for socks, scarves and hats!😊
I tend to like the lighter weight yarns, lace, fingering or sport. I’ve been making more wearable things lately and don’t like them to be bulky.
Dk is my favourite, colour is my weakness! For me, yarn decides what it wants to be. .some yarns yell “hat”. Others whisper “shawl”. The in between one say “humph — sweater” The yarn knows….its magic!
I’d have to say worsted is my favorite. I like making projects that don’t take forever and that don’t require tiny little needles and hooks. It’s a good middle-of-the-road workhorse that is great for such a broad range of projects, garments, and accessories, but not so thick as to be limiting. 🧶💜
I work mostly with worsted weight.
Hi Chandi,
First at all I want to tell you thank you so much for being so kind , sweet and enthusiastic to each of us. To be honest with you I don’t have idea which is my favorite yarn to work because I haven’t worked since 2 years ago on any projects. I started watching videos on crocheting to learn and I started an afghan , it went wrong and I stopped. A few months ago I found you and I feel so thankful that God put you on my path. I love the way you teach , right now I am watching videos but I haven’t started any projects yet . I found videos from 11 years ago and that’s what I’m watching now because you teach the basics , I bought the circular needles and some yarn , I would love to have a pattern for knitting a shawl or cardigan or sweeter, but with all the details and measurements. Could you please help me with this, I would really appreciate it. I am kind of down because my husband is not doing well. Sorry for all the chatting and thank you for everything, for being you. Elena.
I mostly knit stranded color work and I like DK a lot, because it works up faster than fingering, but I still have enough sts to work with to have quite a bit of detail in the motifs.
I love to work with fingering yarns since there are so many beautiful patterns for this weight yarn. I also enjoy putting two or three different fingering strands together to make a heavier weight yarn with a unique look.
It depends on what I am making. I like worsted weight for afghans and sport weight for baby blankets.
I traditionally work with worsted weight yarn, but recently have been enjoying working with the fingering weight yarn. I do have experience working with a variety of silks and wools and all kinds of textures. I can’t say that any one weight is my favorite as much as the texture of the yarn. I really love a soft cuddly yarn that slides through your fingers as you knit or crochet and it drapes in the most wonderful way that just makes the whole garment just feel so wonderful to wear. I want the yarn to be soft but also easy to work with and strong so that I don’t have to baby it and if I give the item as a gift neither does the person I give the item to. I also love the yarn to have plenty of spring and life to it so that the garment retrains its shape instead of growing into some stretched out mess as it is worn that never springs back to life. These are all qualities of the yarn, not the weight. The weight in more something I think about in relation to the pattern requirements. But for favorites, I want a really good quality yarn that has lots of life and silky smooth softness that is a joy to touch and retains those qualities.
For items like blankets, jumpers and cardigans I like DK or worsted weight yarn. Depending on the hat, I like fingering or sport weight yarns because I can get more detail on the same surface area as a hat knit with DK or worsted.
My favorite weights of yarn are fingering and DK. I like making socks and mitts and the occasional shawl.
Worst weight yarn is my favourite, just thick enough and warm enough for a hat that you can whip it up in no time!
Sport weight is my sweet spot! Fingering weight is lovely too.
I love knitting with fingering weight for everything I knit like socks, shawls, fingerless mitts, and hats.
I hope to win I love all kind of yarns your patterns videos and your beautiful ,cheerful and funny soul 😍
I like DK weight yarn. It just seems like a nice balance. Not too thick, not too thin. Good for hats, scarves, mittens, and even sweaters. Knits up quickly but satisfyingly slow if you’d like.
My favorite yarn to work with is usually the one I’m using at the time. I love starting a new project and navigating the pattern to stimulate my brain and watch the garment spill off the needles. I’m so grateful to have found you and the beautiful, creative inspiration you give!
I have been working with alot of worsted but i want to explore other weights. This lot would be perfect for my exploration journey! Thank you for this opportunity.
Linda
I love worsted because it’s warm and it knits fast.
Hello Chandi,
My favorite yarn weight is fingering/sport. I’m thinking about trying some dk and lace in near future 😊
Preferisco filato di medio spessore
Definitely fingering! I love the light, delicate and flowy fabric it makes..
My second choice is sport weight for sweaters…
I’ve never used a yarn heavier than DK… something to try one of this days 😉
Sport and DK are probably my favorite yarns to use, but a bulkier yarn for a cozy scarf is great for a quick project!
I have mostly worked with Fingering. Love the drape for Shawls, cowls and sweaters. Now looking forward to try out the DK or Sport Yarns.. Currently looking to CO a DK project, but haven’t found the right colors for a beautiful cowl. Your Yarns and patterns are beautiful..
My favorite yarn weight to work with is fingering. When I first started learning , I loved the chunkier yarns, but over time I have come to appreciate the drape and flow of fingering and the resulting products it creates. Also I love the extra yardage you get per skein!
While I use any type of yarn – I have a WIP in thread yarn, for example, thin as spiderweb -, I prefer to work with bulkier kinds. They are more comfortable in the hands and work faster!
Hi! I don’t have a favorite, favorite, but anything bigger than worsted makes my hands cramp after an hour so I tend to stick to Fingering or DK.
I love DK weight but have used various weights depending on the project. And I absolutely love your color choices. They are on my pallet.
I love working with a good soft sport or fingering yarn to make clothing otherwise a regular dk weight will do.
The quiet repeation of a simple stitch that shows off the awesome quality of this exquisite yarn. The lighter weight yarns are best in the deep south. Amazing part of my life!
I can’t say one type af yarn is prefered over another. Yarntype varies with projects
The quiet repetition of a simple stitch that shows off the awesome quality of this exquisite yarn. The lighter weight yarns are best in the deep south. Amazing part of my life!
DK and Fingering are my favorite to work with. I definitely gravitate to Worsted when I have a quick project that I want to get that instant gratification during/in-between larger projects.
I like all type of weight yarn but my favorite Is fingering and lace. Because fingering or lace more yardage and beautiful drape. For shawls, shrugs, sweaters.
Bulky yarn is my fav because it knits up so quickly.
I love all yarn! I am in a plushie making stage so I love the blanket or velvety jumbo. Also making some garments so love me some worsted/dk as well!
Hi Chandi:
Another gorgeous giveaway!. Thank you for your generosity…it gives us all a chance to dream.
I love fingering weight for shawls, but like to work with aran or worsted for fingerless mitts.
Fingering because it’s just to beautiful to work with and creates gorgeous, fine work!
I love all yarn weights, but fingering tends to be my go-to for the drape!
DK is my favorite, but I love working with sport weight and worsted too. Bulky yarn is my least favorite to work with.
I love working with DK weight yarn! I find it has great drape while still working up rather quickly. Fingering weight yarn has a special place in my heart, but DK has been a standby favorite of mine for a long time now.
I love working with anything worsted weight or heavier because I love to make blanket.
I don’t know about yarn weights that much but i like knitting with 3-5mm needles.
That might be around 260m-180m / 100g.
I love working with fingering weight for garments. I love the flowy fit and feel. Worsted if I am making blankets and beanies for the thick, warm, squishy cosiness xx
My favorite kind of depends on my mood and the project, but I think recently I’ve gotten into fingering weight yarns. I love how soft and light they are. I also like DK weight a lot. It knits up a bit faster than a fingering weight but is still a bit lighter than worsted yarn. My current yarn stash is mostly fingering and DK weight yarns.
I love the lighter weight yarns. Right now I’m working with the alpaca silk lace weight, and I’m loving it!
My favorite is sport weight. It offers the comfort and warmth without the extra bulkiness. It’s also not the most common yarn to find. I like to be difficult!
My favorite yarn weight to work with is worsted. It’s thick enough to feel like projects go quickly without being so thick as to be cumbersome and put extra strain on my hands.
The yarn weight I use most is worsted (4). That’s because I am fairly new to knitting, and though know a few stitches more than just stockinette, and garter, I don’t do a lot more than that presently. BUT, I have gotten some of your patterns AND yarn to try a beautiful shawl. So, I hope to enjoy some more delicate yarn and beautiful stitches very soon. 🥰
Fingering weight is the one I love working with. I like lightweight garments and love to make socks!
I knit with all weights of yarn, usually excluding lace. And a mix of SW and NSW.
❤️ finguering
I love DK and fingering. DK works up fast and is so multi-purpose, but fingering has the best drape.
Ich mag alle Stärken 🥰
I love all the different yarn weights. There is so many projects to make and sometimes you dont have the yarn weight required. This would definitely be a gift and a half and would be absolutely amazing to have this give away as a birthday present. Celebrated my 32 birthday yesterday😊
I truly do not have a favorite yarn weight, I’ve loved all the yarns from Expression!
I don’t have a favorite weight in yarn really. Variety is the spice of life and I’m the same with projects I make!
I never knew how incredible yarn could be until I discovered Expression Fiber Arts!
I have loved working with Enduring Worsted for the 2022 MKAL, Crema Worsted for this year’s MCAL, Crema Sock, Twisted Tweed, oh! and Sugar Fluff Fingering was a dream to crochet with in my Querencia blanket!! I also love Yak Merino Sport, but I have not finished my 2023 MKAL! I also made my 1st Creery sweater with Buttery Bulky! I ordered Alpaca Silk DK Enamored Hues kit to make the Etude #3 shawl, but have not started it yet. When I wound that yarn, it was the softest and most gorgeous colors of yarn I’ve ever seen!
I have always wanted to try DK yarn, and I love bling – Sparkle DK looks so fun!
I used to enter the monthly contest every time, but kind of gave up – I would love to win!! 💜
Thank you for the opportunity!
Have a lovely day!
I love all your yarn weights, but my current is DK or light sport favorite. I knit mindfully slow and this weight goes a bit faster.
I like that there is such a variety of weights and I like working with most. My favorite currently is DK. I really like that it works up faster than fingering and can be used for so many projects.
I love working with finger weight yarn. I really enjoy making cardigans and shawls. Even if it takes way longer to work up.
Fingering weight for me ….. the drape of it in a shawl or sweater or even a blanket is so nice. My fingering weight blankets are the ones I reach for before DK ones.
Hi Chandi!
I love working with lace and/or fine weight yarns because the finished piece is worth for keepsake with delicate details.
Thank you for the lovely giveaway. ❤️
Have a wonderful week ahead!!!
I love working with Worsted weight yarn because I can make so many items such as garments, household items, and everything in between. It is also the most affordable and accessible yarn where I live.
I like fingering yarn best. It takes longer to complete items but I just love the small neat stitches. I never really like the look of bulky yarn
Hi sweetness! I would say a nice DK weight is my favorite just because the older I get the more my hands hurt if I am using bulky yarn. But I truly enjoy working with anything. Have a FANTABULOUS week.
I enjoy fingering for most of what I knit, but I do a silk lace with beads occasionally!
It depends on the project. Most of the time I will knit with a worsted weight yarn.
I have two favorites. Bulky and Worsted.
Worsted weight for me!works up quickly and feels so durable
I love pretty much anything from cobweb to DK, but fingering is what I use most often. I find the heavier weights too warm, and I like the drape of the lighter weights. Plus, more stitches per skein = more knitting time per dollar!
I have a soft spot for fingering-weight shawls, but I think overall my favorite weight is worsted. It works up quickly but I don’t have to maneuver giant needles around; it’s very pleasing both in the result and in the process.
I love fingering yarn, because I live in a pretty warm climate and there’s almost no need for super-warm clothing. I also love the drape of things made with fingering weight yarn.
I LOVE using bulky yarn…it works up so fast and the finished product is so cozy!
I love all the different kinds but what makes me really happy is yarn that feels soft an snuggly🥰
DK is my favorite weight! But all you yarns are lovely. I am currently working with one of your worsted weight yarns, and am thoroughly enjoying the process
I always love all the colors that are shown throughout the year. I also like the patterns that she shows and shares with all of us.
I love how versatile fingering yarn is, it has so many options and such a lovely drape 😍
I like fingering/sport for versatility. I can use for many different types of projects.
I just love yarn ! My favourite is probably fingering as I live in a warm climate.
I LOVE fingering weight yarn. In my opinion, I think fingering weight yields an even more beautiful and elegant result than larger weight yarns-just my opinion. 🖤🖤
I use a lot of worsted for blankets, scarves etc; but most of the EFA patterns I have made are fingering weight patterns and I love the drape & how nice they are to work with!
Currently tackling a lace weight pattern that is done in the round, and enjoying it; though each row added is over 200 stitches at this point in the last section of the pattern!
I don’t have a favourite yarn weight. I am relatively new to crochet and have yet to try all the different types. Next on the list: fingering weight.
My favorite weight is DK but I find most o the project I have in my queque are fingering. As long as they’re pretty – I really don’t care what weight they are!
I think I go back to dk weight more than anything else; it seems to be perfect for many of the patterns I am drawn to.
Lately I have been loving DK. Projects work up faster than fingering weight and the project doesn’t get too heavy to hold.
You are such a generous person. Thank you. In the past I wouldn’t have hesitated to say fingering. Lately I have been using DK/Worsted weight yarns and I am finding I enjoy them a bit more. Probably because I have developed some carpal tunnel issues in both hands and the larger needles don’t seem to bother that as much. I have also been working on more hats and sweaters and not the shawls I have knit in the past.
OH the colors in this giveaway are so beautiful! I’m so in love with greens and the coordinating colors are gorgeous!!! LOVE!
My favorite weight yarn is either Bulky because i can see faster results, or DK held 2-3 together to create fun variegated colors!
I use all the weights for different reasons. I love lace for lightweight shawls, middle weights for just about anything, worsted for amigurumi and blankets, and bulky weights for hats and cowls/scarves. Just depends on what I’m making at the time. 🙂
Thread, lace weight and fingering weight projects make my soul sing. The intricate details, the drape, and the delicate designs capture my imagination.
I prefer dk weight but fingering is doable
My favourite weight is fingering because I prefer the look and drape of the small stitches but at the moment I’m using more dk as I’m so busy with my baby and need protects to grow a bit more quickly
I absolutely love your shades of purple, especially lilac. I usually use sock weight or dk depends on what I am making. I have not used your yarn but I would really like to one day. I live in Alberta Canada and the exchange and cost of shipping can be a deterent. Thanks for the opportunity to take part in the give away.
I love working with fingering weight even though it does seem to take longer to see progress. I feel the final item is so much more elegant, no matter it it’s a shawl, or socks, it just looks beautiful.
My stash is overwhelmingly comprised of lace and fingering yarns, which leads me to suspect these are my favorite yarns for my crocheted projects – especially shawls. Living in New Orleans, I haven’t found a need to work with anything much thicker, although there are some projects I am tempted to work on, such as motifs, also called granny squares, even though there are other intriguing shapes, textures and color combinations to keep me engaged.
I like a nice, chunky yarn for projects that work up quickly. I’m ready to delve into more fingering weight yarns though!
Fingering weight is my favorite. Love the lightweight feel in my climate.
I vacillate between DK and fingering, but gravitate towards whatever has cashmere in it LOL!
Worsted is my favorite to work with because it knots up fairly quickly without being super bulky, but I also love how DK has such a pretty drape!
I really like the DK/sports in Ocean hues.
I absolutely adore working with qiviut/musk ox yarn! I finally got gifted some lace weight qiviut for Christmas, and I’m loving it.
It’s so soft, so warm, and so lightweight
I like worsted because it works best for what I make most often.
My favorite yarn weight is easily becoming a nice DK! I learned to crochet using mostly worsted weights and before I understood weights at all that’s what I mostly used. DK weights are more squishy for garments which is what I love to make!💕✨
I’m just learning to knit and I’m starting with lace, I crochet and tat lace so its only natural for me. I’ve always wanted to knit those beautiful wispy shawls and so I’m working with lace weight yarn most of the time. But I also love a nice squishy DK for some cozy blankets. I don’t own much yarn that contains silk so that would be exciting to try. I love hand painted yarns of any kind for tatting, the colors are so beautiful and unique.
I prefer fingering weight. I prefer lighter weight clothing and shawls. I also make lots of socks!
I don’t have a favorite weight. It just depends on what I’m making and for whom.
I love DK and fingering weight yarns mainly because they are easy for me to crochet with than thicker yarns, plus I just love the look of how those yarns drape, look and feel.
Sparkle DK. I have been making a bobble crochet Christmas tree every other day so I can have a huge booth before the holidays with lots of trees in all sizes and color.
I like worsted weight. I don’t have the patience yet to make big things with light yarn, but living in Florida bulky yarna are too hot.
I don’t really have a favourite weight yarn. I use whatever weight I need for the project I’m knitting. Bulky yarns are great because they knit up quickly but they don’t work well for baby clothes, obviously. I’m knitting a bay dress with a 3 ply yarn right now. It takes forever to knit, but it will be lovely when it’s done.
I love all yarns, my favorites in the past were bulky and worsted weights. However, I am loving Mirage Sport weight (currently crocheting with that now). And I’m eager to work with the silk fingering blends. I recently heard the term “yarn snob”. I think I’ve become one after using EFA hand dyed yarn bases.
I love all yarn weights. Sometimes its nice to work up a quick project with bulky or switch it up and use fingeri g weight for a beautiful colourwork project with lots of detail.
As many others have said, yarn weight is not what’s important to me. I’ll se whatever yarn the pattern specifies. I feel that I love pretty soft yarn and working with it. Thank you for your lovely letters every day; I enjoy reading them!
I love working with lace and DK yarn. The first is light and delicate and the second gives a nice drape
It depends on the project. Last year I was mostly working on learning lace knitting and making shawls, so fingering weight was all I looked at. I love the intricacy of lace designs and there’s pride in seeing those projects develop under your fingers. This year I’m focusing on sweater making and garment shaping so I’m discovering the fun in working with dk and worsted, seeing the project build faster
I like lace/fingering weight because it’s great for lacy shawls, and I love adding beads as well.
My favorite yarn weights are 2 and 3. I use them the majority of the time. I crochet baby clothing and lacy shawls.
I have so much fingering it’s hard to believe I originally didn’t like working with it since it takes such a long time. But that’s primarily what I work with now because it creates such light, delightful materials. I do have plenty of other weights to change things up.
WOW! This month’s giveaway is stunning! The yarn bases, the colors: I am drooling! As for my favorite weight, I don’t think I have one. I like variety in my projects and the different weights and bases and colors all contribute to the variety I enjoy. The lighter weights give shawls and summer tops a wonderful drape. The thicker yarns are nice for some sweaters or blankets.
I love every yarn weight. Over my 65 years of knitting believe me I’ve tried em all 😂😂😂😂 I am loving working with fingering weight yarn though as I’m addicted to shawl knitting and crochet. I would love to win all the scrummy yarn in the giveaway. It would keep me out of mischief for ages. 😜
I had only ever used worsted until this year, when I tried dk and fell in love with it! I like the drape.
Fingering weight is my favorite because I live in Florida and the light and soft yarn isn’t too heavy and I can wear it year-round!
I prefer working with worsted or DK weight yarns. Most of what I make are hats, scarves, and blankets. I love a pair of socks, too, for when my current projects get too big to be portable, so sock-weight would have to be my next favorite.
I just love working with fingering yarn, dint know why, definitely takes longer, but the end result is amazing.
I like fingering weight unless I’m making a warm cozy sweater, then it’s worsted. I currently am using Yak Silk Lace and loving it!!
Thanks for the offer! I love working with lace and sock yarn. Thank you for the free patterns!
These hand dyed yarns are phenomenal. I have used a 4 weight yarn the most, but have ventured out and have started using a 3 weight. I really like the drape I get and here in g, the project isn’t too heavy to work on or wear.
My favorite weight is fingering, because I love making socks! I’m working with worsted right now and I appreciate how quickly it works up.
DK weight yarn is my preferred yarn to work with but I enjoy knitting with all the finer weight yarns (exception lace) I appreciate them for their delicate feel, drape, and versatility. Your yarns are gorgeous. Thank you for them!
I used to use worsted a lot but I very rarely wear thick pullovers any more, but now I find I like thinner yarns better for sweaters, so now I’m buying more DK weight yarns. right now, I’m knitting a cardigan using up my leftover worsted yarns because I like a cardigan that’s warmer.
I love working with many weights and fingers but my absolute favorite to work with is fingering weight yarn.
During the winter I work with heavier yarns and during the summer I work with lighter yarns. I’m a slow crafter, though, so this means I have to wait for at least a half a year to wear anything I finish! ^^;;
It really depends on the project, but I generally prefer worsted or dk.
I feel like my favorite weight for yarn has changed a lot over the years. It used to be DK, then the blanket yarn, and recently it’s been sport weight or fingering yarn. And really it just depends on the project I’m doing.
I love sport weight!
Probably dk weight yarn is my favourite as I can get my tension correct easier with my knitting and crochet without making a test square first.
I love working with ALL different weights since they each have a different purpose and use.
I love all kind of weights. It depends a lot on what you are making. My first love is fingering weight, I love the drape of it, it feels like a second skin. Soft, light and a geate drape
I’m so glad I found your yarn company
I’m obsessed with knitting socks, so any fingering weight yarn is my favorite!
For a long time, I only knitted with worsted or bulky. However, now I have a fingering yarn stash that is overflowing. I got over my dislike of small needles and more times than not, my project is in fingering. It helps that mini skeins are usually fingering.
Such a beautiful yarn collection- makes me think of spring flowers! 🌸 I’ve mainly used fingering weight yarn up to this point, but at Christmas bought some EFA Worsted, which is so nice and knits up fast! I’m looking forward to trying other EFA yarns as I’m still discovering my favorite yarn weight.🩵🧶🌸
Hi Chandi,
my name is Selisha, something in common is we both live in NC. I enjoy working with lace weight yarn because lace can be challenging for me, it’s beautiful and feminine. I gravitate to feminine designs, like patterns with ruffles and puff sleeves, but my reality is I wear simple, minimalistic garments that are neutral in color. My favorite color is aqua and cool toned colors. I would love to try your new Limited Edition Nublado DK because it is a blend of Merino and cotton. I’ve never worked with cotton but I know it’s durable and breathable. My dream is to replace my store bough staples with handmade garments. I totally wouldn’t mind working with a DK” weight yarn because it would take less time. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity and good luck everyone. Have a wonderful creative day!
-Selisha
I like using fingering the best, because it is so versatile!
I’m currently working on Sweetgum in Twisted Tweed Sport. This yarn feels so great in hand. I’ve had some spots I’ve had to tink and redo, even had to cut out a couple rows where the yarn got over fuzzy from undoing and redoing to fix my errors-totally my own fault. Even with that setback I am moving ahead and truly enjoying the process of working with two yarns at once. Sport, DK and worsted are my favorite weight yarns.
I’m not sure I have a favorite weight. It’s always fun to go from a thin weight project to a heavier one and back again. If I could only work with one weight for the rest of my life it would probably be DK. It’s a nice mid weight that can be more delicate or medium or held double for chunkier projects.
I love working with cobweb and lace weight most, then fingering. But I will work with anything.
I love all the colors and all weights, but I’ve tried making only fluffy animals or amigurumi and I love it.
I love almost all colors❤️ but my favorite yarn weight is fingering weight🪷
DK! Not too think not too thick, and can be made into fabric relatively quickly.
Since I knit so many hats for charity I use plenty of worsted and bulky. I do though lust over lace and fingering.
I like worsted weight because the projects are finished quickly, and because many worsted yarns are superwash. Also, worsteds come in many colors and fiber combinations.
I don’t really have a favourite weight of yarn …. I’m more often attracted to a yarn by its feel
Difficult to choose! I love all weights, but if I HAVE to choose, it would be sport/dk. Because it’s heavy enough for squishiness and light enough for detail.
I love working with all yarns but I seem to have a lot of patterns in fingering so maybe that is my favorite 🤪. I definitely love working with your yarns! They are always so soft and squishy 😃
I enjoy fingering weight for the finer stitches it produces, but all weights have their place in my stash.
My favorite yarn weight is DK as of right now. I have been making a lot of garments and most patterns call for DK.
Beautiful yarn collection! I usually crochet with cotton, worsted or bulky and just got in to fingering weight. I’m in love with fingerings weight for shawls!
I make a lot of dish cloths, hats and Christmas stockings for our local farmers market.
My favorite yarn weight is any weight of natural fibers yarn. March is my birthday month and I am wishing for this stash to be mine💖 With 10 grandchildren, it goes without saying that it would go to good use. Here’s to wishing and hoping 🤞🙋♀️🙏🏻
Lately fingering weight has been my favorite.
I like dk weight the best, but I work with every weight yarn. I just love yarn!
Such pretty colors! I mostly use sport and DK, but I’d have to say DK (like so many others it seems!) is my preference overall. It knits up so quickly and since I mostly knit sweaters if I’m not making socks it’s nice to see the progress zooming along.
My favorite yarn weight to use is worsted weight because it fits my hands better. My second favorite weight would be DK or sport weight.
Hmm, favorite yarn weight? All of the weights, depending on the project. That said, I tend to make projects that use fingering weight, so it’s what I work with the most. But I’ve really enjoyed working with the Enduring Worsted on a MCAL a couple years ago, as well as DK. They work up fast. But I love the delicacy of lace and fingering weight yarn.
Picking a favorite yarn would be like picking a favorite child – they are all wonderful in their own ways!
These yarns, the colors are so stunning!! Fingers crossed for the luck of the Irish to follow me this month!! My favorite yarn weight to work with is fingering. I love making socks so naturally it’s perfect for that, but it can also be doubled for DK weight or even more strands together for larger weights. Really love that versatility. Thank for a very generous giveaway!!!
My favorite weight of yarn is fingering because it’s versatile and I love knitting socks
I love working with DK or worsted because it is not too big or small and I love how it ends up looking overall on a garment, though I also love working with a range of fine yarn weights.
I just shared this most sumptuous giveaway on my Timeline on facebook and on my SherryMaryKay Cafe & Bonnie Boutique facebook fan page. Your giveaways are always so generous and NICE! My most favorite yarn to use is the lace or fingering weight…silk, or alpaca/silk, yak/silk, cotton/silk, etc. I LOVE the end results of these luxurious fibers….always so beautifully hand-painted by Expression Fiber Arts. I am living in a dream when I work with them. I never want to wake up! Right now I am crocheting a shawl in your amazing 100% mulberry silk Allure fingering yarn in Wandering Far hues! Such a beautiful feel….such gorgeous hues of mints and greens…..I am in love! The pattern is My Pearl by Julita Jenicke. I can’t wait to finish….hopefully in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Those greens…..so lush…..silk…..*sigh*
My favorite yarn has been fingering and sport, I have been making shawls and sweaters. Im working the Halibut sweater at this time along with corner book marks with #10 I also make ornaments like angels and bells for gifts. My go to color has been mossy or olive or botanical and oatmeal
My knitting time is limited these days so I usually reach for a worsted or dk for some instant gratification projects. Our winters are longer than most places so the heavier weight is also much appreciated.
My favorite weight yarn to work with is fingering, because I love making shawls and socks. Right now I’m working with a DK weight yarn to make myself a sweater and it’s a lovely change of pace.
Hi! My favorite yarn is fingering weight, but it depends on the project which yarn I use
I love yarns that are soft and sometimes I like a slightly shiny yarn. But of course it’s always important to have the right yarn for the project.
I have to say I’m mostly open. I just find a pattern I love and use whatever it calls for. Though, I must say, once I see a pattern that calls for lace weight, or too chunky of a yarn (looking at the giant roving ones.), I shy away from it. I’m just learning crochet now so, worsted it is for that!
I’m another who enjoys all weights of yarn and a variety of projects (resulting in many wips!). If I had to choose a yarn weight though, it would be fingering. It can be combined with a lace weight for DK projects (especially a baby suri alpaca or mohair/silk for gorgeous fluff) and knit double for marled effects and other heavier weight projects.
Oh! these are beautiful! like early spring flowers 🌷🌸🌹 thank you for the giveaway.
I love all weights of yarn!
My favorite yarn for crochet projects is worsted because it is so soft. It makes great blankets and cowls.
I enjoy working with worsted weight the most because I can make almost anything with it. I also like a light DK for more delicate stuff. The giveaway looks stunning!!!!
My favourite is DK and Worsted weight, especially at the moment making Chemo Caps as the southern hemisphere heads into our colder weather
Hmm, guess my comment didn’t go through. I do not have a yarn weight favorite as of yet. I do have a purple thing with yawn lol. So I’m going with the purple yarn weight, new category 😂😁 lol
I like them all for different reasons, worsted works up fast, dk is comfortable to use, and fingering has a gorgeous drape
I’ve been really into sport/dk lately, but, I’m working on the March square for the MCAL with buttery worsted and it is quite yummy. Stitch definition is amazing! If the yarn is from you it is very difficult to choose one weight!
I think my favorite yarn weight is DK. I like that it knits up quickly, but doesn’t produce a super thick fabric. I used to really like fingering, but my hands aren’t liking knitting it as much lately.
Gorgeous colors!
I tend to lean towards heavier weight yarns, as they are quicker to get to the finished results! But i have been working with fingering lately for hats. Makes for fun floppy slouchy hats.
My favorite is fingering weight. I like the stitch definition fingering weight seems to create, and many projects are made up of lots of intricate stitches. I also enjoy projects that take weeks to months to make..:)
I currently like DK the most because of how comfortable it feels to work with, but I also am really liking worsted for some granny square projects I’m working on, and fingering for scarves and shawls.
Hi Chandi, Tim and crew! My favorite yarn weight is DK, I like it because it’s so versatile. I can k it socks, shawls and blankets and get a beautiful fabric for any of those with DK. Thank you! 🌸🌷🌻
I love so many weights, but my favorites are the finer weights — lace, DK, sport…
i love a squishy DK. I love the drape & I find it makes the most beautiful cardigans
I really don’t have a favorite. it depends on the season and project.
I mostly work with fingering or sock weight yarn as that’s what fits the projects I’ve made. I’ve tried most everything middle weight down to lace, but not much bulky stuff yet.
Socks, mitts n gloves, sweaters, blankets, shawls. Always trying/learning something new!
Getting back into knitting after a long break and enjoying the delicateness of fingering yarn at the moment.
I love all yarn weights equally, but my stash seems to favor fingering weight yarns.
Really enjoying working with Mirage Sport these days…..next I’m trying is lace wt.
I like the squish of DK 🙂
Sock yarn. Mainly because I have been working on socks lately. Otherwise I say worsted.
I enjoy working with fingering weight yarn the most I think, mostly because I can use smaller needles and also because of the drape of the resulting garment.
I love the lighter weight yarns – fingering, sport and DK. I’ll use a worsted for winter things, such as caps, but not anything heavier.
I used to only love chunky yarns so I could knit or crochet something quickly. But after making my baby a blanket with a thinner yarn (fingering weight?), I loved the fabric it created and felt brave enough to try other large projects with lighter yarn. I do love how airy and flowy lighter yarns are compared to worsted or chunkier. I just need the patience to work a project to completion! 😆
I really don’t have a preference on yarn weight as long as it’s EFA yarn! But originally I was using a lot of worsted weight so it’s nice to use lighter yarns and see the differences.
I learned with worsted weight yarn, but I am much enjoying the fingering yarn right now I’m able to make more of an intricate garment or item.
I love almost every yarn weigth, but if I have the choice, I chose a light to heavy fingering yarn for almost everything from sweaters to cardigans, hats, socks…
My favorite yarn weight (based on FOs and current stash) is fingering — specifically your Pearlescent Fingering, which is the most delightful yarn ever made. My second favorite is DK — I LOVE your Dewy DK because it’s so squishy and soft and the colors are heavenly to watch while on the needles!
My favorite is sock weight, because I like to knit socks.
I seem to really gravitate towards DK and finger because I like the drape it gives.
Fingering because it’s light and I can combine if pattern needs thicker yarn. I hardly do Aran or bulky.
Hi Chandi, I have to say that fingering weight yarn does have it’s merits. It drapes beautifully, and I can make delicate and lacy stitches with it. I love making shawls, and lacy scarves.
Love all yarn weights, just love yarn lol 😄 The yarn weight I least work with is Bulky yarn. Love worsted weight and DK for blankets; DK, Sport and Fingering for garments… 🙂
Right now, I’m loving DK weight, but that may be because I’m working on baby blankets. I’m looking forward to using some lighter weight yarns for spring and summer projects soon including a set from Expression Fiber Arts.
I love the weight of worsted yarns, they are warm and snuggly and they knit up fairly quick 🙂
Since I mostly crochet, I love fingering weight for things like shawls and wraps. The drape is so beautiful! These colors are so pretty! They look like spring…
I’m fairly new to crocheting so have only used worsted but am eager to branch out!
I love ALL yarn weights! My stash right now is mostly worsted, lace, and dk.
I do like a soft light weight yarn and the colours are so beautiful with a large choice of patterns supplied through you there’s no excuse to not finding something to create.
I’ve been really enjoying DK weight lately because it’s great for the cowls and hats I’ve been making.
Favourite yarn weight? Depends on my mood…and my schedule!
Need a quick pick-me-up and instant gratification (or last minute gift!)? BULKY is my best friend!
However, there is a lot to be said about taking a really special skein of handspun, hand-dyed FINGERING or LACE weight, and watching it slowly turn into a thing of beauty and function….
So excited to find you! Your work is beautiful! I’ve never tried DK, always used bulky or worsted. I’m going to venture out and try Dk weight and see how well I do, maybe try a shawl. Thanks for your inspiration!
I love using fingering weight yarn as it gives more freedom to double up the yarn and make more colorful creations
I love DK weight yarn the best. It has good stitch definition, but it doesn’t take as long a time to finish something as fingering or lace do. And trying to use bulky and above makes my fingers hurt!
I have crocheted/knitted with Al weight of fiber but my best is sport wt! I wish I could buy more of your beautiful yarn, but on a limited budget I can only purchase what I can! Thank you for the opportunity to win!💕💕
Honestly, I like them all. ❤️
I have been doing a lot of projects with dk weight of late. Used to always use worsted. I love them all, used them all. Can’t pick a favorite ♥️ The March giveaway yarns are my most favorite colors!!
I like them all!
depending on the project my favorites vary : ) i love to knit and crochet with anything from fingering to worsted weight yarns, sometimes i do add a shiny thin thread(sometimes with sequins) for fun projects.
I like DK but haven’t tried anything finer than sport weight. Would love to try fingering next
All your yarn looks absolutely beautiful!
I like worsted for blankets.
If I had to narrow it down, probably sport to worsted.
My favorite yarn weight to work with is DK weight. It works up nicely in so many projects. For blankets/afghans, my go-to is worsted weight.
Stunning yarn as always!!!! 😍 my favorite yarn weight use to be chunkier weights but recently I’ve found peace in slowing down and taking my time with thinner yarns! Dk is my favorite right now!!! ❤❤ excited to try fingering next!
I like both light and medium yarn. Light yarn for crocheting dolls, flowers and summer cardigan and medium yarn for winter clothing
What a gorgeous selection of yarns!
I’ve tried all the weights over the years, but find I prefer to crochet with fingering or sport weight yarn with the smaller hook…. 3.0mm – 4.5mm.
My favorite is a dk or sport. But I love bulky for big heavy blankets!
I use fingering weight most often. I think it’s the most flexible, since it can be held double etc for heavier weight projects.
My favorite weight yarn is fingering weight.
DK is my go to. My hands are arthritic and struggle with smaller hooks sadly.
I’m trying Luster Worsted for the first time. Mostly, I knit with fingering, but I love the shine and it works up so fast! Currently knitting the This Way and That Shawl. I’m going to gift it to my son’s mother-in-law. We became besties when they became engaged. She loves everything teal!
Depending on the project, I love sport for the delicate look, DK for baby items, or worsted for the amigurumi animals/toys my kids are always asking me to make. Overall, I think DK is probably me favorite for a more delicate look, but is easy to work with.
My favourite weight of yarn would be aran/worsted. It’s warm without being too hot, it just feels like a hug.
I love your spirit and kindness; always makes me smile. Love your patterns.
My favorite yarn base is fingering, i love the drape and how breathable the fabric is!
I like using worsted weight for warm and cozy sweaters. I started learning to knit in 2020 using worsted yarn. Now I’m taking the plunge into making a fingering weight sweater. Love your creativity. Have a fabulous day.
I’m pretty new to crocheting…I have mostly used worsted but looking to branch out a bit!
I like DK weight for making blankets and drink cozies and fingering for shawls.
I usually work with fingering because that is what my autopilot spinning produces. I work with worsted weight yarn as well.
I like all weights. I really don’t have a favorite weight. What I really enjoy is color and putting colors together that many would not think look good together.
I’m in love! What beautiful yarn. I use all weights of yarn but 4-weight is the one I use most
I guess I prefer fingering weight yarn and also DK. I’m getting interested on bulkier yarns so I can make a blanket in the future.
I love fingering weight, I make a lot of socks and shawls so it’s super versatile
I’m still relatively new to knitting but so far I like all kinds of yarn and am discovering new yarn with each product. I am partial to lace and Aran projects however.
Fingering weight is my absolute favorite. Although I also love lace and sport weight yarn! Your beautiful yarns make having dozens of choices easy.
I don’t really have a favorite
Worsted is my favorite. There is something so soothing about squeezing a skein of worsted yarn. 😊
I agree with Daniela, I love all yarn weights and types. For true creativity to flow it must have the right outlet. Otherwise, you get stuck and possibly go round in circles. But when looking for the beauty and possibilities in all yarn, I can do anything. I knew of a woman that made wall hanging pictures out of yarn and all sorts of materials that she quilted together. It was amazing. So when I shop for yarn, I’m not looking at it through the eyes of a project in mind. No, I want to know what the yarn wants to be, what is it best suited for, how can i enhance or draw out its inner beauty, what will make it happy and me by extention. So just keep making your beautiful luscious yarn.
🤦♀️I originally left a comment in the wrong place. 😅 I think I have it straight now. Hope, you can see this Chandi.
I like all weights of yarn. I’d like to work more with DK because I think it will be faster than fingering but not as bulky as worsted. I love the new Ibisca cardigan! I’ve got so many patterns in queue!
Somewhere in the DK/worsted weight range – knits up fast enough but is still drapey.
Fingering weight. Maybe for its novelty and newness to me. I’ve always worked with worsted weight until recently. I love the feel of the thinner fiber and the lighter fabric it works into.
Yikes, I cannot answer only one because I love to crochet blankets & shawls. For blankets my favorite is DK weight & for shawls my favorite is fingerling weight. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to win so much of your beautiful yarn. 💚
I live in a warmer climate so fingering enables me to wear what I knit most often.
I enjoy using dk weight for making baby blankets for all the new little babies in my church.
I enjoy working all weights but recently my projects have been mostly fingering weight yarn. It all depends on what a project calls for and to the the right yarn.
I like worsted weight because it’s so versatile. I both knit and crochet and for both you can really change up the size of the needles or hooks to adjust the feel of the piece. Some of the lighter weight yarns don’t really accommodate increasing the hook or needle size to change the entire look and feel of the fabric. I find it perfect for making up my own patterns.
My favorite yarn weight is anything between fingering and DK. However, the sky’s the limit with any and all yarns. I LOVE all yarn related crafts. And all these colors are to die for.
I mostly like working with DK weight yarn but lately I have been using more fingering weight for projects. I mostly make wearables, so DK works well for me with many sweaters, accessories and Tops.
I just love to knit. I think it’s exciting to vary the yarns.
Fingering/DK are my favorites. I tend to run hotter so they are the perfect weight for me to be warm but not too warm.
My favorite at the moment is sport weight. DK is also great and makes a project a lot faster, but I do usually like items made out of sport weight yarn a bit better, so I tend to work with those more.
DK! I live in Ireland and it is the perfect weight for garments all year around!
Making socks is my favourite, so it’s gotta be fingering weight for me!! A close second would probably have to be worsted, because my blanket addiction is nearly as bad as my sock addiction. 😉
Hi Chandi!
I always love DK weight yarns above all else because they’re just light enough to ease any strain on my wrists, but also think enough so that the fabric works up pretty quickly.
Thank you so much for the fabulous giveaways and your stunning yarns as always.
My favorite weight yarn is probably DK weight because it works up more quickly than lace or fingering but it’s still more versatile than worsted. But in all fairness, I like working with different yarn for different projects.
I’m a relatively new knitter…so, mostly, I knit with worsted and DK. I’d love to do more bulky weight and also learn to work with fingering, which makes me crazy right now. I’ve only knit hats and scarves and cowls, so I’m still a beginner. I can’t wait to start a cardigan—it’s the math part which sends me over the edge!! 😂 And I’ve never done a gauge patch yet!!!! 😬
I love the yardage i
of fingering weight, but as I grow older my hands scream when I use it; I typically pair it with a contrasting or Neutral solid in a DK or heavier. Ultimately I’m happiest (and able to knit longest) with worsted weight or heavier.
My favorite that I knit the most with is worsted weight I also like DK and sock yarn weight.
I think maybe worsted weight. I’m a tight knitter and I get nervous around super thin yarns that I’m going to end up snapping them in the middle of a project.
Love to knit with fingering weight. It works for baby blankets, scarves and shawls – my favorite things to knit!
New knitter here, so really don’t have a favorite. I do like a lot of projects made with DK
I mostly work with worsted, but only because it works up so much faster, and I don’t crochet very quickly. When I can summon the patience for it, DK is ultimately much more satisfying, for the feel and drape.
My favorite weight is fingering. I love knitting socks, so that’s my go to project, but the fingering weight allows me to double up to make a thicker gauge.
I don’t have that much experience with different yarn weights, but I think DK is quite nice.
I’ve just started to make wearables for myself and i think I like the dk weight the best.
Fingering and DK are favorites here. I knit beanies and scarves mostly. I’ll be attempting a tie in the near future. Should be interesting..
Thank you for the chance to win some of your beautiful yarns..
I love worsted cotton, it just feels so luxurious and quick
