My favorite thing about fall is the celebration of the holiday season. Family and friends. Making gifts and the food.
I love the cool, crisp mornings. The sounds of fallen leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. The air, free from humidity and feels fresh. Fresh Apple cider donuts.
The smell of warm pumpkin pie
I love nature’s fiery colors. I live in a vine-growing region of France, and all the leaves take on hues ranging from light yellow to very dark red. (And I’m just finishing the Faie pattern with your Persephone yarn. It’s absolutely gorgeous!!!)
My favorite thing about fall is wearing and making chunky knits, going to the corn maze and seeing the gorgeous autumn colors out there!
My favorite thing about fall is the colors. All those beautiful reds, golds and yellows. They make me feel at ease
I love walking in the woods with the colorful leaves galling around me and hearing the crunch of the leaves. It’s my favorite time of the year.
The food, hands down. Our garden still gives us plenty of fresh tomatoes for the beginning of fall, then we transition into apples and pumpkins and so many other good gourds. I like the flexibility of fall, too. We tend to start fall in the eighties and end with snow and I just love the fullness of it all.
I love the cooler weather
My fave thing about fall is the color ORANGE! Pumpkins, leaves, roasted squash, pumpkin-flavored sweets, warm sweaters, and yarn like the skeins at the lower right of the photo!
I am blessed to live in a place where the leaves turn beautiful colors in the fall. It is one of my favorite things. So is the cooler weather! It makes crocheting larger products a bit more pleasant. You can use them as a blanket as you work!
I love Fall colors and everything about Fall!
My favorite thing about fall is the rain, leaves changing colors, chilly air (I get to make more sweaters and scarves!), and just overall feel of coziness the whole season through. I wish I could spend the whole season with a good book, cup of tea, and lots and lots of yarn while I snuggle my cats by a fire and a window with a beautiful view.
I love everything about fall, especially the cooler weather & being able to sit under a blanket while you make it.
Not to mention, the amazing smell of much needed rain.
I love everything about the season of the Fall. The smell , the changing of color in the leaves. The breeze of Autumn and Thanksgiving celebration. Love it all.
My favourite thing about fall it the changing colours of the season. The scent of the air. The feel of a comfy sweater or blanket keeping you warm. It’s my favourite season. I already grabbed my pumpkin spice hand soap but it’s missing that fall scent in the air to smell correctly.
Some of my favorite things about autumn: the changing of the bold summer rainbow colors to the gorgeous warm hues of the season (including the leaves, apples, pumpkins, mums), the return to baking hearty breads and fruit crisps and the brisk cooler weather. One thing that I loved, and miss is attending the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool festival in October as I now live in another part of the USA. Festival goers show off the garments they had created over the past year, Ravelry online friends would meet and gather, and there was nothing like being together with other kindred spirits who also love fiber arts.
In autumn I adore the changing colours, just watching the leafs turn those deep colours from the window, cuddled up with some tea and biscuits is the best way to enjoy the changing season 🙂
I’m sure a lot folks are going to say the falling leaves, for their colors. For me, it’s also the falling leaves, but not for the colors – here in SF most of the trees don’t get vibrant, they get brown. For me the leaves falling means I can see out my apartment windows again, and my tele reception improves. SIGH. Not very romantic, eh?

Fall is my favorite time to be out in the woods hiking. It’s also a good precursor to my favorite season: winter.

I have two favorite things in fall – football, and longer evenings perfect for cozying up with my knitting.
My favorite thing about fall is the weather. In my area fall is the perfect time to break out cozy sweaters, either ones that I have made or other cozy ones I have. The changing colors of the leaves would have to be my second favorite thing.
I think what I like most about fall is that it’s when there are more bonfires, at least when considering the people I know. I love being huddled close to the fire with friends or family just having a good time.

My favorite thing about fall is the colder air and getting to pull out my sweaters again! Especially because this year I had my first summer baby and I’ve been so hot and uncomfortable the whole time.
My favorite things about Fall are football games, the change of colors in the leaves, apple picking, apple cider, the smell of a campfire and pumpkins.
Fall has always been my favorite season. When I lived in the northeast, I loved the crisp air and the colorful leaves. The wonderful promise of happy holidays always felt good too, which is what I enjoy most now that I’m in the southeast, along with a drop in humidity!?! ;}. I also enjoy the return of all my northern friends since I’m here year round. Btw Chandi, I used to always get an email about the giveaway. Did that stop?? I now know how to find it but I missed many months looking for it and I’m not great with social media as I’d rather be knitting or playing sports!!

Fall is easily my favorite season! I love sweater weather, hearty soups, mulled wine with apple cider, and especially spooky season in October. Unfortunately, with the weather in the midwestern US these days, we’ll be lucky if we can stop running the air conditioner before Halloween. I want to wear my wool socks and cozy sweaters!
My favorite thing about fall is the in between weather, being able to wear boots, sweaters and pullovers, nothing to heavy. The beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves on the trees.

I love the beautiful hues of orange, yellow, rusty browns you see in nature. Although, we don’t see that much in my country, but I have seen it in movies and I soooo wish I could see it in person one day. I love the colors in your yarn. It captures the fall so perfectly!
I live in Mallorca and the best about autumn is that the insane heat abates and the rain starts to fall. It is wonderful to sit on my terrace with a cup of coffee, looking at the rain, listening to it and knit or crochet something warm and snuggly for autumn. (That is on weekends of course when I do not work). I live in a little house (which my husband built) in the countryside so I am close to nature.
Pumpkin spice coffee and the changing of the leaves, along with the cool nights that help me sleep better!
I love everything about fall, from the smells to the harvest to my fav holiday (Halloween) it’s the best time of year for me. The colors and the yummy foods and the fun days at the farm with cozy nights under twinkling stars it’s always a season that brings warm fuzzy feelings with it for me.

My favourite thing about Fall (we call it Autumn) is when the leaves start to change colour & slowly fall off & drift away until they lay on the ground … It only needs the slightest breeze and you hear the sound of the dried out leaves chattering together … I have a spot by the Lake I love to sit and have a coffee and just watch the leaves falling bit by bit over several weeks from the London Plane Trees. I take photos to share showing a particular tree I love the shape of & how it changes over time until it’s completely naked of it’s leaves & how the pretty greenish grey patterning in its bark then takes centre display in all its glory! Nature is beautiful without any interference at all from us! It’s truly a gift!

In the UK it’s Autumn rather than fall but it’s the same feeling of slow down of growth and harvest. I think it’s my least favourite season, having to say goodbye to summer and waiting for the onset of winter. I enjoy the new freshness that arrives on the wind hinting at less humid weather but also threatening that blast of wind and rain that inevitably arrives. I enjoy happy memories of playing in the mounds of fallen leaves or gathering chestnuts and other tree fruits for show and tell at school. My other love is apples and apple pies or crumbles a real comfort food for the longer cold evenings and the delight of an open log fire warming the hands and face after being out in the bracing winds .

My favorite thing about fall… well my Birthday. 😀 Also the sounds and the smells. I am a very earthy person, gardening and such. So I know that my beloved hydrangeas and roses need a rest. The earth has provided food for my family all summer and now my garden will rest. I have gorgeous sugar maple trees in my yard.. they will turn into beautiful golden, orange ,yellow giant torches. The earth is waving goodbye in Ohio until Spring.

My birthday!
I’m a true spring/ summer girl! But living in the northeast, i do enjoy a fabulous leaf-peeper season with lovely dramatic and vibrant color. Hands down, though, aside from being able to break out my scrumptious cold-weather handknits is that I can put out my bird feeders again! I can sit for hours and watch all of the different birds. The autumn brings many new species and varieties of birds as they migrate south for the winter.
Being a New Englander, I love the color change of the trees and the crispness to the air as it cools down. And there are so many fun things to do – Apple orchards, craft fairs, fall festivals and more 🙂
The holidays and cooler weather!
My favorite thing about fall is the flavors! Everything spice and pumpkin and cranberry — I’m clearly a very food motivated gal! I also look forward to the inferno outside getting turned down some. I wouldn’t say we have actual cool fall days consistently where I live, but they do happen occasionally, and it’s amazing when they do!

I lived in South Florida the majority of my life and even then Fall was always my favorite season. The idea of muted oranges, yellows and browns where everything once was green was just the most beautiful thing I could imagine. I live in Georgia now and those colors are not just an idea, they are a reality! PLUS the freshness in the air—- I find myself taking deep breaths each day throughout the season to capture as much of it as my body possibly can.

The monsoon season finally comes to an end and the rain lets up! We’ve had over 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours in my area of Las Vegas, NV – our normal rainfall for the whole year is just over 4″! My duck feet fell off over 50 years ago, ah well – we do need the water, it would be nice if it would pace itself a bit more, though. . . you know!
I love the sense of change. Changing leaves, cooler air, renewed creative time. The change of each season is a reset for me. Fall is a time to get out for walks in the crisp air, preserve things grown over the summer season, and bring warmer projects back out because it starts to get cool enough to work on them.

I love fall and the cooler weather, the changing colors in nature and seasonal foods.
I love all of the beautiful colors in nature as the season changes. Wearing the comfy sweaters I’ve made. The delicious soups, holiday gatherings, my favorite time of year.
Autumn means sub-90 weather and fiber working that doesnt leave me sweating up a swamp just from wool touching my hands for more than 2 minutes. It also means cozy snuggles with the husband and our dogs and more walks with them in the park.
My favorite thing about fall is the color changes in the trees up north. I live in Florida so I miss that a lot.

I love the leaves changing colors, the cooler temperatures, the smell of woodsmoke from fireplaces, and almost anything pumpkin …especially pumpkin chai tea lattes using vanilla almond milk, pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie. I also love the fact that my favorite foods and knitables/crochetables are more in the forefront.
My favorite thing about Fall is that I have more knitting time. I love wearing a knitted ‘sweatshirt’ and knitting. In the summer it is hot and I have a garden so I have a little less time but once the weather cools down I spend more time knitting.
My favorite thing about fall is it’s finally cool enough to be able to bake without melting! Apple pie, apple muffins, apple crisp, they all make the house smell amazing!
Second favorite – football! I use that time to knit while I’m watching, it’s the only day I can guarantee I’ll get a lot of uninterrupted knitting time.
Always grateful but happy to be moving into the Season of Thanksgiving…back at my beach home where the sand and water will start cooling and I’m able to knit to the sounds and smells of the sea.

I would need to echo others comments about Fall. For me, it’s the season where our Earth is getting ready for Winter. The growth of vegetation starts to slow down and to prepare for a Winter’s sleep, only to awaken in the Spring. The lazy days of Indian Summer, colder mornings and still … warmer days. Yay fall! My favorite thing about fall is that it’s NOT summer 😁. I love that the weather is cooler and hot drinks are more inviting. I love when I can finally bring my sweaters out and cozy up on a soft couch and knit or crochet to my hearts content 😄

Fall is my favorite season…cooler days but not cold and cooler nights without needing a fan to sleep. Plus it means more in house crafts: quilting, knitting/crocheting and making soap. This year it also means some major work on my garden that got away from me due to company, weather(heat) and health issues. So on the cool mornings I’m out in the garden digging in the soil and loving it. Then off to my crafting room for “me time” and then (alas) the rest of my household chores.
Some of my favorite things about Fall are the changing colors, the sounds, the smells, knowing it’s cardigan time, but what I think of most is that holiday time is right here. Thanksgiving is my favorite, all of the family gathering together the kiddos playing, the adults enjoying each other’s company, the smells, and I am so blessed to take it all in as my husband and I prepare dinner for all of our (usually busy) adult children knowing that I am capable of giving them the gift of relaxation for a day. I am THANKFUL every day, but especially that particular day. I just absolutely love EVERYTHING about FALL!

It’s a special time of year for me, when I celebrate family. My son was born two days after the autumnal equinox. I travel from the Pacific NW to the East Coast at the height of the autumn foliage to see family. It’s my favorite time of year! I love the crispness of the air, the brilliant reds, oranges & yellows of the leaves, golden needles of the Tamaracks, the northern lights, apple picking, warm mulled cider, pumpkin spice lattes, and sitting in front of a warm fire.

Since moving to the deep south, I have felt deprived of the full experience of fall as available in the north. If it was within my budget, I would spend the months of September and October where I could again
experience the fullness of the season. I never could get enough of Fall!
My favorite thing about Fall is the days are still warm, but can be crisp as well, so it’s the perfect time to pull out your flannels and sweaters and layer all the cozy things you had to put away during summer. I love being able to crunch through the fallen leaves. You’d think as an adult I’d have grown out of that incessant need to tromp through the dry crunchy leaves and scatter them everywhere just like I did as a child. Fall in Vermont especially is my favorite season. We get color, great weather and comfortable temperatures with virtually no bugs! The smells of leaves fallen and wood smoke and apple pie baking appeal to me too. Plus our Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival happens in fall, so add maple creamees, fiber animals, fiber folk in moderate amounts, and good times to the list!

I live in the pacific North West, in BC, specifically. We’ve been inundated with fires and NO RAIN. I’m a rain girl, I don’t care what humidity does to my curly hair! Autumn is a great season to be outside! When the temperatures slide down into the comfortable range we don’t sweat, even when working hard putting the garden to bed. But probably my favorite part is late fall when it feels right to stay inside, working on my knitting and sewing projects.

I love lighting the first fire of the year to test if there are any issues. I light up the fire and throw open the windows (because usually it’s too hot) and sit down for crafting session.

Tim did well, as usual! My favorite thing about fall, that’s a question that makes me feel wistful. I grew up in Pennsylvania and fall was my favorite season. I love the way the nights get cooler and there’s a nip in the air. The leaves changing color, the smell of burning wood outside, the season of apples and cider, the smell of fallen leaves and their crunch underfoot, the way grasses and corn turn golden and flax colored. And can’t omit Halloween! But now I live in Florida and it’s just not the same. At all. I miss northern seasons. Maybe one day I’ll be able to live again where there are 4 seasons. PA again? NC in the Smokies? Maine? France? Oh the possibilities are juicy for the imagination!

Any other year I would have answered the autumn colors. But this year I have a new favorite thing, which is long walks with my dog. Me and my partner took last summer (2022) a puppy. He is a mix of Finnish Lapphund and Samoyed. That means he has a thick and warm fur, which is not very practical in the summer. Now in autumn we can start taking longer walks again, when the weather is more suitable for him. Me and my dog both enjoy these longer walks and at the same time I also get to enjoy the autumn colors.

We don’t have much for “Fall” where I live in the tropics, but the colors on the trees are what I miss most from living in the Rocky Mountains as a child. Too this day I love tans mixed with deep rich reds and a pop of yellow or green or orange.

Living in Canada (Quebec) our summers are short but fall is such a beautiful season. I love this time of year for the abundance of vegetables that are fresh picked, it inspires me to cook my favorite recipes. I also have the Apple orchards close by and wineries, it is a wonderful time of year.
walking through the neighborhood with the kids after the mosquitoes have died down for the season, picking out especially vivid fall leaves to show off to their grandmother, stopping by the tree with the world’s largest pine cone, having contests to see who can scoop up the most acorns from our oak ridden front yard.
There are so many things I love about fall. The smells, the colors, the crispness of everything. It feels like finally the world gets into focus, after the haziness, fogginess, clamminess (all these esses hint I’m not a fan of hot weather 😉 ). And the geese…I fly with them every fall. I love literally everything about fall. Back home it was the leaves and smell in the air. Now that I’m in NC, it’s that change to cooler days and more time outside. It always feels like a time to slow down and embrace everything cozy.

I love how everyday the trees look different when the leaves start to change. In my neck of the woods, the soft maples in the wetlands started changing to that beautiful deep merlot red a few weeks ago. A preface for what is to come, but also an ending to what has been. The cooler temperatures and the crispness of the air in the morning are a welcome change though!

My favorite thing about autumn 🍂 is driving 🚗 through the Blue Ridge Parkway(between Tennessee and North Carolina) a beautiful scenery and seeing all the leaves changing colors in the mountains and the 🍎 apple festival that happens in fall. I love walking and seeing all the crafts and the craftsmanship of the vendors with a cup of apple cider and buying apple butter. It TRUELY feels like fall!!
Wow thank you for organizing these! I love the cooler weather early fall, then all the colours and smells and foods that follow. We have a pretty festive culture around mid autumn both in the east and the west, so I’ve always associated the season with fresh pumpkins for baking pumpkin pies, and visits to farms for eggs for moon cakes. Fall get togethers with family and good food is a highlight.
Otherwise, I got into crocheting lace last fall, and I’d like to finish my first large knit project for this one. Sweater weather is surely upon us now hehehe!

With the summer heat subsiding, the desert starts to come alive again. I live in a very dry climate with an average rainfall of 4 – 5 inches a year (your read that right). But there is beauty in the desert that gets over looked. It starts to shine once again in the cooler months of Fall. The flowers start to bloom again, the trees are starting to just give way to a different color, and the air is crisp with the promise of renewal that is just around the corner. Oh and there’s candy corn. =)

What a fabulous giveaway! I love the sweater weather, harvesting from our garden, I like when it’s raining outside and I can snuggle at home in my blanket with a cup of tea!.. Fall is a wonderful season!

My favourite thing about Fall or Autumn, as it’s known in Ireland are the variety of colours that you see in nature at this time of year. Love it.
I love old women’s summer and those warm days when the air is clear and bright and you can see far … and remind hot summer days. I like all those earthy colors in fallen leaves, beautiful and inspiring.
My favourite thing about autumn, or fall, is going for a walk in the countryside and seeing all the leaves changing colour, then coming home to some homemade soup and curling up on the settee with my knitting and a glass of wine.
I love everything about fall. The crispness in the air, the beautiful display of color, beginning of soup season, walks in the woods, comfy clothes..sweatshirts,sweaters,etc, football, cider, pumpkin, pumpkin, pumkin, sipping coffee on cool mornings on my deck, getting back to my knitting and crocheting projects and sooooo much more.
I feel more alive during autumn, especially after a hot summer (if we get one!). The air is fresher, early morning coolness is a reminder of what is to come so make the most of your time now.
A friend used to be sad because of the leaves dropping, I said I saw them as a blanket for the earth , she loved that.
The crunch underfoot, all the fruits, nuts and berries = wonderful.
Sunrises as well as sunsets (can you tell I’m not an early riser?)
The feeling of life moving more quickly to get ready for winter, love it!

Fall is by far my favourite season; the mornings are frosty and cool, but the afternoons have warm sunshine. The leaves changing colour makes the scenery beautiful, and it’s the perfect season for sweater knitting!
My favorite thing is the cooler weather! Knitting in the south can be hard to do during the hot months. 😆
